@davidylan & laudate

I'm really sorry that I sounded harsh. The truth is that I go around in Nigeria and I see ordinary citizens committing atrocities that are unimaginable.

Have you seen Lagos drivers opposing a one-way traffic? You will hate the day you were born. They will leave their lane because of impatience and they seize one lane from the opposing traffic, then after a while, they seize the second lane, finally they takeover the third and the whole traffic comes to a standstill for 7 hours. This is how Nigerians now behave. Totally disorganised.

Nigeria is so disorganised right now that I was arrested in a bank once by the SSS for behaving orderly. They explained to me that it looked suspicious to them that the typical Nigerian did not bother to jump the line or take the back door.

I love being arrested in Nigeria. I get arrested and I give them my regular slogan "I wont give you guys money, I wont beg you, and I wont even be nice to you. So its best you let me go now."
Of course they wont listen. They'll take me to the station. At the end of the day they will hate that they ever did. I will harass them. I will write a totally non-implicating statement and then tell other people that they retain the right not to write statements. I make the day hell for them then at the end of the day, my lawyer comes to get me and the police doesn't get a dime.
But you see Nigerians everyday, ever willing to pay a bribe. They don't know the law and they won't read their rights. They're just generally unconcerned. Yet they complain. I know that there was a time that the Nigerian government was bad and most of the citizens were good but now the citizens are 200 times worse than the government officials.

There are evenings I'll be at the bus stop and some drivers would want to charge N20 extra just because its dark. Than cannot possibly be caused by the government. Even if I have N50,000 in my pocket, I would take any of those buses. But then you will see some so called bloody masses will take out the last N150 in their pockets and pay; "oga commot for road if you no get money". The masses are really terrible and they need re-orientation yet they don't do it for themselves. And since they don't trust the government in the first place, maybe you and I can try to help them

I'm sorry to have sounded the way I did but the truth is that davidylan, I read your blog and I even saw your pics. You are a nice guy that once believed. The fact that you just turned to something else within a few years, it made me feel bad. Truth is in ten years time people will see what Nigeria will achieve.

I wish one day you could fly the flag again, but if you can't, just still bless it in your heart.

I am not proud of any derogatory words that I may have used. I was not myself.

I know the demands will keep coming. These people do not want peace. They will demand anything just to create a reason for their atrocities. Even if the states have 100% derivation. These people are not fighting for rights, they are filling their pockets.

They will keep kidnapping and when the expatriates can't be easily kidnapped anymore, they'll kidnap their children.
Since they've been kidnapping male expatriates all the while and now they're kidnapping babies, very soon they will start kidnapping female expatriates, then one of them touts go wan Bleep whitey.
When the expatriates and their children leave the country, they will continue kidnapping rich indigenes.
When all the rich indigenes leave for Abuja and Lagos, they will start robbing the poor indigenes.
When the poor indigenes have no more money to be robbed, they'll start raping and enslaving them and cutting their hands and feet Sierra Leone style.

I love guns and I like to fight for justice. The reason I don't support any form of Militancy is because it gets in your head. OPC, Bakassi, MEND. They all end up doing evil.

@Seun

I'm not in support of the MEND boys. Am I crazy? I'm just analysing their current strategy.

It is quicker to get ransoms paid on little children than adults who can be assumed to have some negotiation leverage. Besides the expatriates are now becoming more security conscious, leaving the kids wide open.

Also, there is some indication that Asari Dokubo and some of the initial members of NDPVF are getting their demands met soon, so the thugs and touts are trying to cash in their final cheques in case peace is finally brokered.

So don't mistake me. I think kidnappers are the scum of the earth, just a notch below rapists. I'm only trying to explain the new twist in the money making venture.

The bottom of the issue is that El-Rufai had no basis to say what he said. That stupid ambassador that said southerners are the real Nigerian criminals should be shot dead. Nigeria is Nigeria. Nigerians are Nigerians.

There are Nigerian girls prostituting in Italy. Nigerians have been ruling this country since independence. Nigeria is one of the highest crude oil producers in the world. You have not seen anything. These MEND boys will behead that child if their demands are not met.

They have killed before and they will kill again. They have started to realise that adults are taking extra security measures, so they have to get to the children.

They have to hit the enemy at their weakest spot and what better weak spot is there than their babies. This will speed up the measures taken to pay up the ransom.

shey you see now that our dearest Jewish-Nigerian-British-American citizens cannot talk anymore.

If it is Yar'Adua that declares NATO illegal for allowing the US share nuclear weapons with Belgium, they will say Yar'Adua should be killed. They will start calling for the overthrow of the government, they will start writing motivational messages for potential coup plotters.

Now the imperialists has outlawed OPEC. Their ardent followers have gone back to the drawing board the fashion out a justification for this.

This is what results when you are too extreme. When you have supported one party so much that you become so bias, by the time they start doing what is blatantly wrong, you cannot talk. And if you do not talk or cannot speak out against them, then you support them. This is how evil perpetuates itself.

Is OPEC the cause of the current crazy prices of gasoline? It is
1. The war in Iraq
2. diplomatic issues between Saudi Arabia and the US started by Donald Rumsfeld.
3. Tensions between the US and Venezuela.
4. Rapid growth and development of India and China
5. Tensions between US and Iran.
6. US sponsored militancy in the Gulf of Guinea.
7. Tensions between US and Russia over a Missile Defence System.

What has OPEC got to do with all this? How has OPEC caused all this?

Na their death and final downfall them dey look for so. And it will happen.

The world is ripe World War 3. The Nations of the East shall be conquerors and Nuclear pollution will contaminate all the Northern Nations. Only Africa will remain untouch. I say the Gospel shall soon be fulfilled for all to see that God has never and will never lie.

@needeeg

God bless you. I know you mean well for Nigeria, but the word REGIME is not something you should use in referring to the Yar'Adua government. If you don't want to use the simple term "Yar'Adua's government", you can alternatively use "Yar'Adua Administration".

In the Western world, the everyday use of "regime" is usually used with a NEGATIVE connotation, usually referring to a government not friendly the their own government or a DICTATORSHIP, even if the government is in power through a consistent application of its constitution. The WESTERN MEDIA uses the word REGIME to signal their own REGIME's distaste for those governments.

Yar'Adua is a very humble, hardworking and intelligent man who has led an exemplary life.

I will advise him not to listen to any advice except from his personally appointed advisers, ministers and himself. I will advise him not to even listen to me advising him not to listen to any other advisers.

This thread is useless. It will not advise Yar'Adua because he will not have the time to read it. This thread will only create a field day for all those semi-literates that want to come and insult their fathers mates. END THIS THREAD NOW!!!

@davidylan

why do you keep saying "us"? You're a Nigerian who has moved to New York for permanent residence. How is the looting your public treasury?

When did you contribute your taxes? I thought you said you contributed your taxes to the US government to be channeled to the middle east crises? What has Yar got to do with that? Did he intercept it half way?

You contributed your votes? Really? There was a green-white-green ballot box in Central Park, New York? Wonderful.

Your Patriotism too is very helpful. You ran away to Yankee and you were calling for the disintegration of Nigeria on a different thread. That goes to show how genuinely patriotic you are.
I am totally sick and tired of all you runaway Nigerians, American wannabes who still take time to come and disstabilize and demoralise Nigerians.

Yes you were a patriot once. I can see the anger in you because the system failed you. But rather than for you to accept that things are getting better at a fast rate, you chose to take up the task of sending wicked and heartless messages to and about Nigerians. It is bad.

You are in America. How is government government denying you constant power supply in New York. Or do you believe that NEPA is so powerful that they are responsible for power outages in New York?

"Our" roads are in a horrible state, "our" hospitals are mortuaries?
"We" can't refine our oil after 10 years why do they send you to keep posing as one of us so you can tear us down and lower the morale of Nigerians? Why can't you just be honest and tell people who you are and what your true mission is? And stop attempting to destroy "our" government and return "our" country back to military rule. Or you do not know that your message is none other that that which will cause killing, stealing and destruction?

Do not play any role Ehn, please don't play any role. Our taxes are sitting in foreign banks. But you that your taxes have been repatriated down to Israel, don't bother about the roles Nigerians choose to play in their country.

Don't build this nation in fact, you're not trying to. Build your own new Nation that has blessed you with free Education.

You have come here to make us jobless hands and frustrated minds but I tell you, you have failed. We will work hard and we will think straight and no amount of intelligence, counterintelligence or misinformation can destroy us.

Please stop claiming what you're not. You're no more a Nigerian. Tackle issues abound in your new country and tackle them fairly. If at all there is something that you don't like in Nigeria, point it out like any other foreigner. Don't come in here and pretend you're one of us in the same situation. What have you got to gain by lying? Unless you have a mission to fulfill, I don't see why you should lie. Duality is a high level of deceit. You have to have a reason to do it. Lets know why.

You claim it is jobless hungry men in despair that go about blowing pipelines. All the poor jobless despairing people in the US, how many pipelines have they vandalized in order to siphon gasoline? The unemployment rate in the US is about 4%. Thats almost 10million people. And remember that the unemployment rate is calculated as those that are willing and qualified to work but are without jobs. What about you BLACK brothers and your trailer park whitetrash that are unwilling and unqualified to take up jobs? Then your mexican gangsters. That gives you more than 50million jobless, hopeless, criminally minded Americans. Why has no single one gone to siphon oil from a national pipeline. Because they have not been fed with the type of primitive intelligence that most of us are fed with.

Are there no jobless hungry, despairing people in Kaduna State? How many pipelines have they vandalized.
It is not about hunger, lack of employment and depression. It is stupidity and greed.

So you think militants actually go to blow up pipelines? They drill holes in the pipelines to siphon fuel and when there is an unfortunate ignition, pipelines explode and thousands of them die. So don bring that horseshit about unemployment.

You complain that they go to Germany to cure a cold. You bathe, shit and sleep permanently in New York. You even do not dream outside New York.

All the children of "our" leaders are in foreign schools? That must make you one of all the children of our leaders because em, are you not in a foreign school? Do you see any other children of our leaders in your school? That means it must be you that you're talking about.

Odili's daughter was in UNIBEN. How many times have you seen the children of these thieving leaders in your New Work and gone to their faces to say "you! Your father is a thief! Hes stealing all the money and babies are dying in Nigerian Hospitals because no vaccines". Yet you come here to unleash your bile on the masses whom you claim are already being oppressed. You do not know the meaning of that word you often use: "HYPOCRITE" you do not know but slowly, gradually, subconsciously, you have become it.

The patriot in you, Moyinola Adenuga, has gradually that hypocrite David Dylan, and the worst part is that you're not even aware. I'm sorry I have to be the one to break this to you. Others will come in here and argue to make their point, but I will tell you the truth. This is not you anymore. You have changed to something you once loathed. You have become your enemy.

I know you tried, you struggled so hard in Nigeria and the system failed you, made you seem inefficient. Then you went to the US and realised you didn't even have to try so hard. It is sad but you must realise that it is this system that built you to be strong determined and resilient it is what makes you excel easily where you find yourself now. Look at the African Americans around you. See the kind of sorry lives they are living. Even in the US where every infrastructure is in place, see what they've made out of it.

Whose were the hands that built America? Was it the government or the forefathers of the modern day die-hard Republicans? If their is no individual development, the government cannot function. How can the government function when it is from among these same individuals that the government representatives emanate?

Is it from the government you obtain the masses or it's from the masses you obtain the government? In fact, the leaders are not just a reflection of the citizenry, they are of them and from them and so the government is the people.

You should find out what "a government of the people, for the people, by the people" really means, then you will know who carries the major fault for the position we're in today.

I still maintain that the Nigerian government should provide basic infrastructure and services like roads, railways, airports, radar, police, defence, regulations, laws and policies.

But government should not generate electricity, government should not provide pipeborne water, government should not refine petroleum, government should not provide education, government should not put food on the table, government should not build churches and mosques, government should not, publish newspapers, government should not run television stations, government should not run airlines, government should not provide subsidies. It has been tried and tested all over the world and it has failed or is failing.

Look at the movie industry in Nigeria. As wicked as Abacha was, he provided equipment for the studio in Jos, worth more than $500million for movie practitioners to use free of charge. The directors of these bloody homevideos went there to check the equipment: 2 Panasonic Panaflex cameras, Professional DV Cameras, DV Decks, High tech computers loaded with original video editing software, unending rails of tracks, dollies, almost a hundred HMI lights, large Chroma screened studios, thousands of tripods and cranes. They went back to Winnies Hotel in Lagos and complained that Jos is too far!
Chalize Theron left South Africa for Hollywood and Zach Amata is saying Jos is too far.

Then for more than 15 years now, they are still using household camcorders.
It is these people you say should not re-orientate themselves?

@davidylan & aisha2

the both of you have just chosen the two extremes to hang on to. The truth is that the government is not in excellent shape but I give it a 60%. The citizens, I give 17%.

The masses won't educate themselves, they won't analyse the reality at hand. They just complain and complain their future away.

Finally david, I see a lot of things going wrong in America. I complain, but I don't go to demoralise American families. I don't tell them that "our" president is killing our children in Iraq. I don't tell them that "our" president was shipping M-16 assault rifles and M60 heavy machine guns to Militants in the Gulf of Guinea.

So since you want to be an American, you can complain about America or Nigeria to your fellow Americans. Don't sneak into Nigerian gatherings and try to poison the hearts and minds of Nigerians against their country. What does this aim to achieve? Peace?

I admit that Nigeria is not where it ought to be, but you too have to agree that Nigeria is 10% better than you left it. And that is under Obasanjo. You also have to agree that Yar' Adua will run this country better than Obasanjo did so I really don't see what all the fuss is.

God save Nigeria!

There ain't a thing money can't buy. Directly or indirectly.

Why do you think people chase after money so much.

Some people even mention communication. In fact money can give you 24 hour communication. Someone that is financially free can afford to take a whole week from monday to sunday, spending quality time with their spouse. Even when they're in the office, video conferencing is available if you have the money. It's those that don't have money that wait for happy hour to communicate.

Sense of humour is close. But with enough money, you can afford one of those Steve Covey classes that'll teach you about how to make your relationship and family closer. On the issue of humour, so you guys still think wit school is a myth? It exists, unfortunately for those with a lot of money to spare.

With good money you can get proper relationship counselling.

What do you think God meant when he said money answereth everything? EVERYTHING!

Abeg let me not hear it that there's something money can't buy.

Some say trust. If you wake up from a coma and Bill Gates tells you that the date is 7th February 2008 and one beggar tells you it is 5th February 2008, who would you believe.

In fact that $59 billion makes every word from his mouth become gospel.

Then not to talk of the direct benefits of money in a relationship. Luxury, comfort, care, satisfaction, relaxation, vacation, golf, health, beautiful kids, big screen TVs, VIP, social security, Moet & Chandon, generally, a good life.

Please if God can proclaim money as the key to all things, let no man say assunder.

They've painted us black to the extent that even a pan African is calling himself dudu-bobo. Accepting the nature of BLACKNESS that the self proclaimed WHITE MAN has hammered down our brains for century.

I hear some people claim that they are black and proud. Not knowing that that is what the enemy wants you to believe.

My brother, dudu-bobo, look at yourself very well and you will see that you are not dudu.

See Child labour that they keep complaining of in Africa. All those 13 year old boys in footbal camps and 15 year old girls on modelling runways, what are they?
All those 5 year old actors and 7 year old singers what are they? Because these have been permitted by the "white people" then it's good.

Anyway, as I said before, FMG is bad. And it is condemned by everyone because it may have originated from Africa. Abortion is okay and they are still debating pro-life and pro-choice because it originated among the caucasians.

Fish Farming is great. I studied Animal Science in school but always envied those in fisheries.

Please if you know what is good for you, do not attend those seminars on catfish. Even if you do, do not listen to what they say.

The fishery I managed in Lekki had about 10 small ponds started with almost 4000 fingerlings. I learnt some hard lessons. The worst is selling the fish off, but I'll start with the first.

Cost of feeding. It may seem moderate in the initial stages, but towards the end, about 5 months time, you'll hate life. So I suggest you don't go spending recklessly on feed. The plan I came up with was to start feeding the fingerlings with the pelleted type floating feed that is obtainable from CHI. After 2 months then you start feeding them with the cheaper not pelleted locally made feed. Till they reach market size.

Shade your fish pond from sunlight. The more shade the catfish have, the less active they are so they burn less energy exercising. The shade also makes them less aggressive so less cannibalism. Thereby less loss.

It's also good to sprinkle a little salt. It works but I haven't proven how. Its not my theory so its not up to me to prove it. But it works.

This next step is something I don't know if I should prescribe. Well, if you're operating in a truly intensive atmosphere, and you know the catfish are almost always in shade, try to reclassify the fish by selecting the bigger ones and putting them together in the same pond but at lesser stocking density. This will allow those smaller ones left in the pond to grow at faster rates. Remember, if you have not taken measures to reduce the aggressiveness of your catfish, don't try this! If you do, they big fishes in the same pond will compete for dominance and territoriality of the new pond they're in and some may die.

By the third month of farming your fish, you should start bringing fish dealers, market women, pepper soup joint owners and restaurant owners to take a tour of your farm so you start building a customer base for the eventual harvest and market time in the next 2 months. Don't forget to inform neighbours too because its almost impossible to sell your first harvest in bulk. You may find some dealers that may book to buy all of your harvest. Good for you. But if someone else gets there a minute before them, SELL! SELL!! SELL!!!
The saddest thing you'll experience is keeping and feeding market size fish fox weeks because of lack of buyers.

Let your market price be moderate. About N300 is okay, depending on your location. So keep this in mind through every step of your production process. Limit your spending to what will give you reasonable profit at the end of the day. Remember, assuming you start off with 5,000 fingerlings,
cost of fingerlings (approximately) N50,000.
Cost of feed at approximately N4,000/day is N600,000.
Preliminary recoup on fixed cost N100,000.
Some kain yeye, yeye cost N50,000.

So at the point of harvest if you're left with 4500 adult catfish, at N300 each,
that's N1,350,000.

So profits may lie in the area of N1,350,000 - N800,000

=N550,000 or less. Not bad for a beginner.

Then finally, I would like you to realise that there are a lot of Chinese coming into Nigeria these days. Besides that, there are lots of Chinese restaurants. The Chinese have their own species of catfish and I believe if you can raise them here, you can charge cutthroat prices. You could sell each one for more than N1,000 each and it doesn't cost you anything more in raising them except the extra cost in acquiring the exotic fingerlings. So imagine selling 4,500 market size chinese catfish at N1,000 each. Thats N4,500,000. That gives about N3,700,000 or less. Not bad at all.

So take care and run things well. I just found a text from the Sino-Nigerian trade group or so. It contains phone numbers of 3 fishery experts sent to Nigeria by the Chinese government. I'm just seeing the document for the very first time and its tempting me to go back to fisheries. Hmmm. Well, I'll think about this. Free research consultation.

Well take care. I hope I dealt with all aspects. I'll post the Sino-Nigerian document differently. Its so loooong!

As for pig farming, not everybody eats pigs. In fact, less than a quarter of Nigerians eat pigs. Besides, I hate pigs. Their stench, their squeal and their weird little tails. I hate them. I used to skip practicals in school when it came to piggery.

@uchetobi

which DSTV Channel can you watch for 4 hours straight?

I know there are some like Discovery, E! and MTV Base. These are the channels that you can compare to Silverbird Television. Because I sure can watch STV non-stop for 6 hours.

Besides, check you DSTV. It's only Reality TV that has TELETEXT. Now Silverbird TV has teletext and theirs has more content than reality TV. And remember that what DSTV has in its bouquet is some of the very best TV stations in the world.

My guy, be honest. Silverbird TV is better than 60% of the television stations in this world.

They are showing NTA now in the US, and Nigerians over there are subscribing to NTA with joy. The truth is you don't know what you've got till it's gone.

I hate rapists. They are the scum of the earth. They must all be destroyed. While there are decent guys going around trying hard to get attention and love, some minion just believes he can just cut through the pleasantries and rape. That bastard should not go free. But even far beyond rapists, I hate pedophiles. They are mentally deranged. They are the scum of the scum of the earth.

You should get a very large and clear picture of him and send it to one of the journalists in the Sun Newspaper, send his home address and business address with a brief essay. Let them start from there while we continue to think of more cruel things to do to him.

When I was just 8 years old, I had my first sexual experience with a girl of about 16. Then after a while she got her elder sister who was about 18 involved. We did all sorts of crazy stuff every single night. Technically, it was rape and pedophilia, but I won't tell you I have a grudge. In fact quite the opposite.

I was also affected psychologically in that till this very day, I'm hardly attracted to any woman who is not at least 10 years older than me. But should that be the end of my normal life? No! Gradually am changing. Of recent, I've actually gone out with some women a little below my age.

So don't let memories of that pig dampen your future. Live your sex life to the fullest. If you hate men, become a lesbian. But do not let any rapist take away your life.

Don't forget to send those items to a journalist at the Sun Newspaper. Those people know how to paint grey into black.

So don't lay low, and keep dreaming big.

violence is not the answer, except when absolutely necessary.

By the way, after beating the guy up, I didn't have to apply for the prepaid meter. They brought it to me on a platter of gold.

For even the kingdom of God suffereth violence. And the violent taketh by force.

The overbilling thing was an error of estimation but trying to disconnect me without a disconnection notice? Lailai.
