so many roads were constructed but these roads started 2 damage b4 their completion nd evry1 knows why. SO, while some1 like u wld see those as achievements, others would think of the numba of billions gone into private accounts.

I also believe there were worse governors than Akala but he had too many issues.

Ibadan pple right from time wont take just anything. They are politically vibrant and both the rich nd the poor, the educated nd uneducated are aware of the happenings in politics. Word goes round so fast nd politics is discussed over meals. For that reason, it isnt easy for any government to come nd just go wvout so much criticism. The only reason other Nigerians joined is because Ibadan pple started the cries nd d Media was a good partner.

nd any one had better learn that even someone like Bola Ige didnt get a second term despite his good performance.

Many Muslims are too sensitive and get easily offended. If someone insults your god why dont you let him fight his battles rather than resorting to violence and slaughtering the innocent?
The Koran is only a book. Simple. I don't condone it being burned but at the same time some Muslims seriously need to take a deeper look at their lives, and practice their religion more rationally with love and respect for your fellow humans.

[quote author=NAIJA_SOM link=topic=649536.msg8157895#msg8157895 date=1303153652]MY friend (Poster) we are all brothers and sisters and your pain is my pain. Your people are our people. You feel ashamed for them, i also feel ashamed for them and so should all of us. I am a Nigerian who happens to be Igbo . Contrary to popular belief, the igbo or southerners in general are not the hausa mans problem. Islam, the religion of peace (a hijacked religion) is also not the hausa mans problem. In fact i will take it even further by saying that if the north was economic reformation, embrace the investments coming in from the southerners (not burning them down).

the problem that most northerners fail to realize is that their leaders that they will kill for or die for has betrayed them. Power has been in the hands of northerners for majority of the country history and yet it is still ravaged by poverty. whyhuh why dont  they see what the rest of us are seeing?

Politics › Re: Violence In Kaduna By Buhari/CPC Supporters by deols(f): 7:13pm On Apr 18, 2011
My Opinion on this

I was in Kano as a kid about 12yrs ago and I must tell you that the only thing i remember of the streets, is the high number of children with bowls running after cars. Every morning they would come singing at people's doors for left over food. It was later on that i got to realise they are called al-majiris who live under their teachers after the parents must have left them at early ages to fend for themselves. These teachers, known as mallams have no source of living and live by the money these almajiris make by begging.

These was over twelve years ago and these people are still there, with no formal education, no source of living (apart from begging) and their only source of knowledge is these mallams, who also were almajiris(grew up on the streets.

Today, they are burning the almighty houses of the people who have been claiming to be on their side, claiming to be their brothers in faith, claiming to be their representatives at the higher places but have only succeeded in making way for themselves and their families. You need to see their children and their lifestyle to know well enough that Religion is only used for their own personal gains.

While many people here have decided to be blindfolded by ethnicity and religious sentiments, they have failed to look into what is really wrong. am sure majority of these people must have at one time or the other claim the need to flush out our dirty politicians (not that i support violence). The involvement of southerners in this is however unjustifiable at all.

In all, i believe this is about LACK OF EDUCATION, POVERTY, and a fight against the people who have impoverished them. And  not to forget this gives them an opportunity to loot and some escapade for their otherwise idle hands.

NB. I am YORUBA nd ds is just my take on this.I stand corrected though

this is highly Unfortunate! I supported BB and I am against this violence.

But only 'illiterates' on this forum would continue to blame this on Islam. I dont even blame Buhari, These people are almajiri, like many call them, are illiterates and are jobless. Their understanding of what is wrong and right is as far as their thinking enables them. If they were not, am sure the story would be different. Who then do we blame for the illiteracy, the joblessness, the poverty driving them to loot. OF course, the government.

The Government should be told to do the right things NOW. Name callings would help us in no way.

Is GEJ the INEC chairman??
Was He one of the officers who worked under rain and sunshine??
Did he keep all the youth who stayed and ensured that the votes were counted in their presence?

The only good  i can say of him is that He is lucky to be President as  Nigerians make clear of how much they are tired of being deceived By those in Power.

If at all someone should be singled out for praise, its PROF. JEGA, and that is even too early.

I won't argue this but if the Organization, Gathering, Society or whatever it might be is Oriented Religiously it is strongly advised the Woman can't lead.
I strongly disagree with you. If the only person knowledgeable enough in that organisation is a woman, would you rather accept that the men continue in their ignorance and disallow a woman the position to guide them? In as much as the woman is not asked to lead them in prayer or do unIslamic things, she's good to go.

Do not mix issues and make them sound like the truth. The question you should be asking is: Why was the report on the finding about the PH stampede during GEJ's campaign never made public?
Having lived in PH for about 6 years I still have friends and family members there. A couple of my ND friends there confirmed the news that have been going around that all the exits to the venue of the campaign rally were locked down to prevent people from living before the end of the event. If you recall the rally was held shortly after the Kaduna rally where GEJ was practically left standing alone on the podium as the crowd dispersed after their respective state candidates had been introduced.

To forestall a similar occurrence in PH, the GEJ campaign team locked all exits making it difficult for people to leave the venue. A trigger happy security attache to the president shot some rounds into the air to scare the crowd away from the exits and the ensuing confusion led to the stampede.

The stampede was not as a result of GEJ being liked or attracting the crowd.
this is disturbing.Shows how d GEJ of a man wld keep using his power against the masses if voted in.

londoner:
It is not a sign of any enlightenment for a good candidate.

It is simply people of the North backing a northern for president.

If PDP had picked a Northern/Muslim presidential candidate they would have supported that man would they not?

Its like people making a song and dance over the stampedes which took place at the PDP rally in Port Harcourt, what did you expect?

It is what it is, and I suspect that its nothing more than the usual thing of "my area", "my tribe member", "my religion".

When they troop out for Ribadu , then I can see there is some enlightenment,  because that would be mostly based on his track record.

I highly doubt these people have given much thought to and track record, manifesto or political ideology of Buhari, or the party he represents.

I doubt even 10% of voters are doing so with any candidate.

GEJ, needs to take a look at Buhari's manifesto.
I see some hypocrisy here. If they troop out for Buhari, it is because he is northerner and Muslim but if they troop out for Ribadu, it is because of his track recordshuh?
