His constituency was unfortunate to have had a clown representing them at the National level for four wasted years. How can he make any meaningful cotribution that will help his constituency and the nation at large if nobody understands the load of of rubbish he calls grammar? When you communicate, you must communicate in a way that ohers could understand. Otherwise you are just a rabble rouser seeking for undue attention. In my opinion, his years in the house of reps is a waste to the nation. Let somebody mention a bill he sponsored or any reasonable contribution he made to any bill. As soon as he finishes speaking, he is ignored and his speech is seen as an unnecessary distraction to a serious discussion. So unfortunate!
u'r soooooo right. What he says is not even correct or very unnecessary sometimes.

I understand you. As far as i know your walee is your Guardian ("marriage guardian"wink
Walī (Arabicولي , plural Awliyā' أولياء), is an Arabic word meaning "custodian", "protector", "sponsor", or authority whom one who may be obey.
and not necessarily your folks. -
Moreso not many people feel confident to have their parent as their walee while the go "spouse hunting" these days,

Towards the event - the organizers would rather deal with the singles themselves (though open to personal walee's input) and  take on the role of their wali to moderate interaction for this purpose only.

ma sah Allah!

ds guy is just tryn to let us know how ridiculous it is for Nigerian politicians to keep posting pictures of how much people there are in their rallies as a show of their acceptability. . .Even a mad man would pull some crowd in d market and no matter how unpopular becomerich might be, he can always pull some.  . .lol

I think there's nothing wrong with having such an event.

Do u mean dat d organisers would stand as the walee or are actually the waleehuh

1. what do you think is wrong plz?

2. organisers will work with attendees walee but at the event they will be the walee for both male and females,
i asked that question because am not sure if people can act as walee(d islamic definition of it, i.e father, brother e.t.c) when they really are not.

Islam › Re: The War On Islam By Gaddafi by deols(f): 6:45pm On Mar 06, 2011
abdul4hire:
Aslmlykm. Read all your posts may allah guide us all. What's important as muslims is that for every new matter in our. Lives we should always refer back to the quran and the sunnah of the prophet for conclusions. Without doubt taken a muslims soul unjustly is a great matter in allahs religion which in many places has been condenmed by the shariah. But analysing this critically we should ask this question ;why muslim countries? Allah will not impose a tyrannical, blood thirsty, money embezzling ruler on muslims except we ourselves are not standing firmupon the correct teachings of our religion. Allah says if our affairs are inline, we donot associate partners with him, and work good deeds then he will shower upon us risq(provision) and children and he said he will make us firm in the land as muslm. doesn't this call for a sincere introspection as people that proclaim islam. We demand our rights from our rulers but do we give the most honourable of rights to the one that is most deserving, allah, perhaps only then can we truly rant over bad leaders, perhaps only then will allah give us good leaders, perhaps only then we will truly understand that the source of all the revolts which was a suicide which is forbidden in islam was never condenmed rather the guilty held up high as a hero (ironically can't the killings then be justified by gadaffi from his own point of view I.e if they honour killing themselve, don't I have more right to kill in my cause of establishing peace, stability and good governance, perhaps only then will we realise that the prophet had condenmed revolting against the leaders in numerous places including his farewell speech. as long as they observe prayers and do not associate partners with him, for the catastropic consequences that may follow I.e iraq, afganistan, still counting, so muslims let's not consume our selves joining this western propaganda of democracy and let's hold on to Gods teaching through only this can we reform
mashAllah. I have seen, heard, participated in arguments concerning whether what is going on in the middle east is justifiable or not. At first, i had the notion that the revolution is justified considering that the Muslims in Tunisia would not be allowed to even pray under Ben Ali's rule.I thought the call for Freedom was right. Then came the crisis in Egypt, the loss of lives and the division over who would take over leadership and i started to wonder if anyone could be sure the situation wouldnt be worse than it was at the beginning. Then came my search for what Islam says on it and I found out that Islam disapproves of this and the only way out would have been to change our attitude as a people and pray to God for what we want(better leadership) and Allah knows best.

In all, I think everything is predestined. The Arab world isnt the model of Islam and its not surprising to see such things as this happening. I believe its like every other course of events that change the world, bringing us closer to the last hour.

Someone said something about the other candidates as being the best Lagos has to offer. This isn't true but only tells how the political landscape is. Many people qualified for this might not even get to the primaries, let alone become flag bearers of many of these parties, PDP as a big example.

I would forgive them if they did not know what they were doing was wrong.

Failing that, I would forgive them if they did an intentional wrong ONCE, not multiple times and then repeatedly asking for forgiveness.

Them failing in not doing what they know was wrong and evil, I will forgive them if they did their best to atone by returning ALL the residual benefits from the intentional wrong-doings that they can realistically identify, quantify and give back altruistically without any reservations.

Not giving peanuts and enjoying the majority of the benefits of their evil acts repeatedly, doing it again and then coming back for forgiveness. That is rubbish!
That is how it works in Islam too. One of the conditions that guarantee you forgiveness is that you do not go back to commit those sins after asking. God is however merciful. But, the fact that you aren't sure if You'd benefit from that mercy will keep you away from the sin after asking for forgiveness.

@ ifyalways, fiqh means Islamic jurisprudence. It gives explanations to basic tenets of Islam, acts of worship and how they are to be performed. It also explains d Shariah.

There is no verse of the Qur'an that states that minors should be married. But,we have examples from the life time of the prophet that this wasnt frowned upon which means you dont have to practice it but if you do, there's no Islamic law against it.

Islam › Re: Why do Muslims hardly Pray In secular Gatherings? by deols(f): 7:30pm On Feb 27, 2011
The prophet would say a particular prayer at the beginning of his gatherings nd end dem in some particular way. The system of praying that is done in gatherings in Nigeria today, i think is alien to Muslims. It is different from the way we pray in our homes nd starting to convert that into English nd to suit the purpose of the gathering is a difficult thing in many cases.

I first nd foremost dont agree that we have to do certain things because others do them nd if anyone is finding it hard to pray in English, y not just recite a verse or two in arabic. if u'r mocked for not being able to speak english, ask dem if they can speak arabic too

How are the mighty falling!
I hope Gaddafi would do something honourable and bow out before he is referred to ICC.
But then, Gaddafi was Libya's Messiah when he toppled the govt of Libya 4 decades ago. He was a Saviour that was as respected as Hosni Mubarak. He is a patriotic citizen of his country. He is as proud of his country as any German is to Germany.
The only problem he has is the sit-tight syndrome that is typical of all African leaders (Remember our own obj?).
Honestly, I have not seen any African leader that is as powerful as Gaddafi in terms of his ability to withstand multiple international economic and political sanctions (am not trying to exonerate him of wrong doings nevertheless, i still admire him but for his sit-tight attitude and his inability to discipline his sons)
That is one reason i didnt believe the revolution would get to Libya at first. He did to his country what many African leaders couldn't. But a fighter should always know when it is over.

While some sisters are very shy to make the 1st move, a new trend is going on now where some sisters are throwing caution to the wind.

Recently, I got info about a sister who proposed to 3 different brothers at the same time and one of the brothers is even married. This to me is going overboard and is against the nature of a woman let alone, a muslimah.
