Upload or no upload, a winner always emerge in every polling unit. I believe LP was declared winner in polling units they won. Even in organisation, once a manager stays too long in a particular branch, fraud becomes highly likely there and only a new manager or external audit team can expose it. Just like Obi, GRV will still come third in Lagos on March 11th. It's a no-brainer. |

TheGoodJoe: Section 64 (4) of the Electoral Act states that “a collation officer or returning officer at an election shall collate and announce the result of an election, subject to his or her verification and confirmation that the number of accredited voters stated on the collated result are correct and consistent with the number of accredited voters recorded and transmitted directly from polling units and that the votes stated on the collated result are correct and consistent with the votes or results recorded and transmitted directly from polling units”.
Simple English. Yet, you are talking another thing. Keep defending evil. So where in the quoted section did you see that a winner may not emerge if the Presiding Officer could not transmit the said result? We have PU, Ward, LG, and State collation centers where results are verified in that sequence. You can't come to the national collation center and try to stop the INEC chairman. Again, provision were made for when the results could not be transmitted. Maybe you should read the section further and cure your ignorance. Transmission of results is for transparency, not for INEC to determine the winner. It is believed that what's coming from each collation centers will be what's uploaded to the server. Why not wait till you see 200 instead of 2000 in your PU? |

TheGoodJoe: The INEC chairman has announced results, giving a certificate without the full upload of results. This is totally wrong. INEC has no power to halt announcement of results when it's deemed to have come all the way from PU, Ward, LG, State before it gets to Abuja. The iRev you guys are harping on is just to help validate the various results. It's not written anywhere that election process would be halted until all upload are completed and verified. For God's sake you guys have representatives everywhere. You have copies of the originally signed results. Why not wait to see if INEC will upload something different? The ones you have with you? Did the totals show LP having more votes than Tinubu or this is just a matter of "make we just scatter everything"? |

TheGoodJoe:
You guys are so good at defending evil. Until now, my unit and neighboring units are yet to be uploaded but the result declared. INEC just did not follow the Electoral Act and the result they announced for the Presidential election is a fraud. I believe LP has the duplicate copies of the EC8A form for all polling units. They should gather it and head to court. Wait till the results are uploaded to see if it's different from what you have. Even from all the copies of the results at your disposal, you'd know you didn't win the election, but no, you want INEC to cancel the election because of election upload, which the Senate President already said upload at PU is not mandatory. |

Politics › Re: The Unhappy Mood In The North After Tinubu Win by DeOTR: 8:56pm On Mar 01, 2023 |
VeryKindHearted: By my observation, the mood in the north among the masses is not that happy. I sense a kind of unhappiness among the people because Atiku did not win.
Let me take you down memory lane as follows:
APC almost denied Tinubu ticket because of the fear that Atiku Abubakar of PDP may likely win because the north will vote for Atiku if APC doesn't field a northerner.
They feared that APC could lose if Tinubu is the flag bearer.
Previous to this election, everywhere I went, I observed that the north was behind Atiku.
So let us say that the north has lost the election because PDP has lost.
The East has lost the election because LP has lost.
Why are the northerners blaming the east for their lost?
I sense a kind of anger from the northerners today. They said that the easterners only voted for LP.
I saw so many WhatsApp posts here in the north attacking Igbos. I hear some discussion bordering on the selfishness of easterners. They are not happy, I can confidently say.
I believe that the north thought that the east is so divided that it cannot come together to support a particular candidate.
I sincerely believed that they thought that PDP will win because somehow or other, the east would vote for PDP.
Although I never voted for APC(I am behind Obi). But I am happy because the north now knows that a candidate from the south can win even when the north is behind a northern candidate the way they were behind Atiku. The north now knows that if everyone is voting for his tribe, no one is sure of victory.
Previous to this election, Tinubu was unpopular and everywhere in the north was Atiku.
So I am happy that a southern has won in an election which also fielded a popular northerner. Na so. Hausas are now collecting old 500 and 1000 notes in Suleja market with joy. Dey there dey play. |

Politics › Re: Previous FCT Election Results And Why 25% Is A Must . by DeOTR: 12:48am On Mar 01, 2023 |
socialmediaman: FCT is not a state, that's why the constitution says 36 states and FCT. If it were a state the constitution would've said "37 states including the FCT"
Do 1 and 2 means you must do 1 and do 2. It's very simple The FCT is treated as a state of the Federation on constitutional matters. There are a lot of ambiguous sections in our constitution, so you can't say they could have explicitly stated it. However, I feel, as a matter of English language, 2/3 of the 36 states and FCT doesn't mean 25% in 2/3 of states and 25% in the FCT.
|
Politics › Re: Previous FCT Election Results And Why 25% Is A Must . by DeOTR: 12:23am On Mar 01, 2023 |
socialmediaman: The provisions of this Constitution shall apply to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja as if it were one of the States of the Federation; More: https://jurist.ng/constitution/sec-299
"As if it were" means that it's not a state, but the law will apply to it like it applies to states
The law is clear, 25% of votes in 2/3 states and the FCT
In Mathematics, it means 25% of 2/3 of 36 states + FCT, which means 25% of votes in (2/3 x 36) + FCT = 25% of votes in 24 states + FCT Since it's 36 states and FCT, how about we rewrite your equation correctly like this: 2/3 (36 + 1)? Or is that not the English interpretation of 36 states and FCT? |

What can be darker than the reign of a man who's always on black? wegevv: Again, the English language meaning of that section is simple. The AI chatbot shows that. My project example shows that. Ask 100 English scholars to interpret just that section and virtually all of them will say the same thing. You need 25% in FCT.
So the burden is on you guys to prove that the constitution meant something else. But in terms of English language from that section. The meaning is clear. Replace states with something else. Replace FCT with something else. The meaning is remains the same
PS: I like how you tried to pretend that you knew the data only went up to 2021 when you basically said the opposite in your previous post lol. You’re welcome though ❤️ What did I say that negate the fact that the went went up to 2021? The fact that the model was fed with available data online? If there's anything, you're contradicting yourself. I guess you know the law better than Falana (SAN). |
Politics › Re: Kaduna State Final Result by DeOTR: 12:55pm On Feb 28, 2023 |
Ofunaofu: You mean that they will add the entire votes of all the candidates from there you now get the 25%
I used to think that it the 25% of the total votes of the leading candidate
Eg. Let assume that the votes of the leading candidate is 500k, 25% of it is what is required
I am here to learn It's not the total of the leading candidate, but the total votes cast for all candidates, including invalid votes. |

wegevv: Do you know that ChatGPT's knowledge is still limited to 2021 data? You think it is reading nairaland and twitter live? I don't care what your profession is, you clearly know very little about what chatgpt is. Stop embarrassing yourself.
I have asked it in a different way just to remove any doubt and focus on just the English. Here you go ❤️
PS: yes it could go to our court of law and I wouldn't be surprised if they rig the constitution too but the English language meaning is beyond clear DeOTR ❤️ It's limited to 2021 which means the bot "cannot give accurate answers to queries that would be connected to events after 2021", so what's your point? The model was trained from sources like Wikipedia, books, news articles, scientific journals and git repositories. Again, it was trained on available wrong submissions like the ones being peddled here and there by your likes. Does it make an authority to explain our law? No. I use the chat bot daily and I know about it better than you do. Again, how does "25% in 2/3 of 36 states and the FCT" come to mean "25% in 2/3 of 36 states and 25% in the FCT"? Even a Mathematical model would represent that statement as 0.25 * (36 + 1). We're talking about matter of law interpretation in English, you're bringing an answer from a bot that most probably got trained from data from Wikipedia. How ridiculous? |
Politics › Re: Kaduna State Final Result by DeOTR: 12:30pm On Feb 28, 2023 |
Ofunaofu: It still doesn't answer the question
How did you arrive at that
I am here to learn According to the OP, the total votes of the Candidates is 1,341,109. The 25% 1,341,109 x 0.25 is approximately 335277. Obi polled lesser than 300k votes, so he didn't make 25%. |
