OdefaGirl: I am amused you said...his failure is evident on "Nairaland".... Like seriously? The one you choose to believe amongst the bunch of truths that has been published? Obi is from Igbo but not an Igbo project. Listen let me teach you just a little.... I'm in public service, ...if your boss is corrupt, good number of subordinates would have reasons to be but if he's not, firstly; he would block leakages and wouldn't like giving contracts or projects to a notorious staff. He would be interested in seeing the end result of projects he has funded..... And people who are straight forward wouldn't even want to get their hands soiled because they are contented with what they get. We still have good people in Nigeria but if the head is corrupt, what can the body do but we have to train ourselves if we want a better nation. Someone is out here to help get it right..... We can't miss this opportunity. Which opportunity? Don't even start. We'll be glad we never made the mistake instead. Obi didn't help Anambra get it right? Will he do any better with a complicated entity like Nigeria? No. The Obi I have known, most probably before you ever heard his name, doesn't have the quality to lead this country. Between the top 4 contestants he's the least competent if you really know all of them and not following what you read on social media. Like I mentioned, what we need most in this is not election, it's restructuring without which there can be no progress (vote an Angel if you like, the results won't be different). And no, most Nigerians are just like their leaders. Give them a taste of power and they'll misbehave. A President doesn't have the power to reduce corruption by any bit by been incorruptible himself. I worked closely with NHIS, ministry of health, Higher institutions of learning for almost 7 years, and I know what I'm saying. Corruption is deep in the public sector. |

OdefaGirl: Tremendously helped but you guys refuse to believe. Let's start from that.... that is not his only quality.... Insecurity reduced drastically while he was a governor which gained him an award. Let's just open our eyes this time if not.... You have no idea that no President can stop the stealing that's going on in Nigerian public service. Except we want to lie to ourselves, we need to sit down and talk as a people. That's where to start from and none of these people are planning to do that. It's just I'll do this and that without telling us how they intend to do it. And no, Obi didn't do well in Anambra to deserve a trial at the Presidency. His failure is even evident on this same Nairaland. I'll agree if you want us to vote for him because he's Igbo, but don't tell me he's the best of all the contestants. |

OdefaGirl: That stealing spirit wey dey possess una, no possess him. You think if the wastages are cut off....things will remain as difficult as it is?
Wise people are talking to you all, directly and in parables, yet una no wan hear. No wahala Nigeria's problem goes beyond corruption. Just take notice of that. For instance, how has "not having theifing spirit" of Obi helped Anambra? |

Obi will not get 10% in any SW state, not even if it's only 100k total votes cast. It's easier for Tinubu to win all the SE states than for Obi to get 25% in the SW. You can bookmark this post till after election. |

Kobonaire234: Fact is, they are not making enough money.
They need to make far more than that before we get 24 hour power....more like trillions of naira.
Not this one where only 69% of people pay for power, and government is setting your prices I've not exhausted 5k I subscribed since last September. The load on our transformer is much and they have to do a day on, a day off rotation, even at that, we still don't have stable supply on our designated days (hardly 8 hours any day). AEDC is waiting for us to buy transformers so they can collect the bills. Is that how business is run? I work from home, so I spend close to 40k monthly on fueling generator. I had to go buy solar that's capable of powering my devices. I wouldn't mind if they hike the tariff as long as the supply is constant, but as it is now, the discos are comfortable with what they have. More so, they are comfortable selling darkness in the guise of estimated billing. |

lagosrd: Do you also notice the road safety people hardly stop commercial vehicles drivers which needs to be truely reaccessed . They are so notorious that they overload and the road safety looks away.
The Us embassy is another one . Millions of delibrate refusals without explanations and their almost #100k has gone like that . People are subjected to psychological truma before , during and after the interview, only their fate to be determined by one angry visa officer who might be at logger heads with his wife before coming to the office to start issuing refusals . I'm aware NURTW and RTEAN "settle" the Road Safety Officials not to arrest their members, so don't be surprised they get away with traffic offences most times. I'm not traveling to the US again unless it's for work and the company is assisting with the process. My last experience left a sour taste in my mouth. |

lagosrd: Same applies to driving license. I still don't understand how you got permission to drive and the next thing is that you no longer know how to drive. That of driver licence is even reasonable a bit, at least people change, and it's OK to reassess your driving skills or mental health again after every 3 years to be sure one can still be trusted to make the right judgement on the road, but for languages? It's very ridiculous. |

SmartPolician: You don't have to believe - it is what it is.
What you believe or not believe doesn't change a reality.
There are lots of things Nigerians import from China that are much cheaper than those produced in Nigeria.
FYI, there are many factors that drive production: labour cost, government policy, taxes, infrastructure (like power and access road), etc.
Nigeria is like a country without a government.

Unigrad Importing fuel also has adverse effect on our foreign exchange. It's the sole major source of pressure on our currency. |

marcopollo: You have comprehension problem. He said we should not talk of ethnicity here meaning no one should be talking about voting because someone comes from the same ethnicity with you. We should not talk about ethnicity and he was saying this?... ...Or how do you justify Atiku when another Northerner is leaving the place? That’s the crux of the matter. The South-West has done, South-South has done, is South-East not part of Nigeria? The last time I checked, we are still in a democracy, so what's the fuss about where the President comes from? It's OK for anyone from any tribe to contest of the highest office, but are we going tell every other aspirants from other tribe to step down just so an Igbo man can be President? What's even so special in Obi? Is he the only Igbo man contesting in this election cycle? What's fairness got to do with democracy if the person in question fails to get the popular vote? Abi must it be Obi the Messiah or doom? Obi will not win this election or any other subsequent one. We don't want a repeat of his failures in Anambra in the country as a whole. |
