Business › Please I Need Information On How To Obtain Import License In Nigeria by DeRay98(op): 2:52pm On Jul 02, 2016
Good day People of Naija, happy new month. As you have seen the end of the first half of the year and has started the 2nd half, you will see the end of the 2nd half gloriously in Jesus name, Amen.
Please I need information on how to obtain import license in Nigeria:
what are the processes, agencies involved, are the licenses restricted to specific products or the ones for different products are available?
Any idea about the cost of specific types/grade of licenses?
I look forward to reading from informed folks on this forum.
Thanks.

You can't just employ an extra ### ### number of people. That has already been done over the years and aside from the effect on recurrent expenditure, it creates redundancy and ultimately reduces the effectiveness of the workforce.

Creating an enabling environment is a more critical role of governments than being an employer of labor because the former will lead to the latter. The problem is that past leaders have barely had to do a lot of critical thinking as against sit down with calculator to share oil wealth. When you do this for 35 years plus and forget the part about creating an enabling environment, you end up with Nigeria of 2016 where

1. You have a mono-economy dependent on crude oil revenues. When crude oil price falls, the economy is paralyzed as we have it today with many states owing salaries
2. Government is the largest employer of labor
3. A crippling redundancy in civil service where an office has oga, deputy oga, assistant oga, secretaries to oga, deputy, assistant oga, office clerks to deliver memo from upstairs to downstairs, personal assistant, correspondence keeper etc.
4. A civil service where people must get promoted after 4 years whether they have been productive or not
Etc.

If the civil service is restructured for efficiency and government job is all about efficiency and effectiveness like in the private sector, we would see tremendous change in the system.
My bros, all these Indomie generation no know these thing you write here o. Them go soon call you APC.

It's an inefficient way to tackle unemployment. FG's recurrent expenditure is already stifling economic development, and yet you propose the FG add more to this problem. Developing critical infrastructure is a better alternative. Wasting more money on indolent civil servants is not the way to go.
You made a valid point that most of these children on NL with phones in their itchy fingers, graduate without education won't understand till tomorrow. Am proud of Gov. Oshiomole of Edo state. From a mere 3 billion Naira IGR generated annually, you came and by your courage, wisdom and a team of capable hands, including Mr. Godwin Obaseki, you took IGR of the State to almost 20 billion Naira per year, making the State one of the few viable states in Nigeria, yet some fools want Edo state to slip back into the hands of those that almost ruined it.

Dangote is presently owing N150bil big ones but he comes from the untouchable tribe.
Owing billions is not the issue here, don't let ignorance and hatred kill you.
It's failure to pay or meet agreed terms of payment over a period of time.
If Dangote is not failing in his loans terms, no matter how much he owes nothing happens to his companies.
These Big borrowers who fail to pay are the killers of banks since the 80s. While the bank's money is in the hands of these elites, and the banks have govt money, they didnt care about funding small businesses. This is a major reason our economy is weak and unemployment is everywhere and everybody is depending on govt for everything.
Now that govt has taken it's money from the banks they are now left to fight to recover their loans. No more shakara as before they either start doing real banking business or fold up.

Inasmuch as I don't want to get involved in the acrimony between these fellows, however, it doesn't fancy me the way gerontocracy is being encouraged and motivated. There are myriads of young presidents holding sway in many countries which out numbers the elderly ones to say the least. Irrespective of any prejudice, the youth must be given a chance to take a shot at governace.
You missed the point, Fayose is supposed to be representation of the youth governance but, is his irresponsibility in power a good example of youth in responsible position of power? He is a bad example of and for youths. Age is not the issue but attitude in position of power.
When 1999 Democracy started, many young politicians became governors, ministers and NASS members but did they show in anyway that they were better than the older politicians we clamoured for replacement? James Ibori, Lucky Igbinedion et al and now Fayose are bad examples that are inspiring youthful madness in hallowed positions.
"If your brother is misbehaving outside and giving your family a bad name, you shouldn't blame the people who insult your family as a result of your brother's attitude, rather, face your brother and stop him from spoiling your family name if indeed your family doesn't deserve such"

The Facebook video she posted of the snake is both terrifying and funny thanks to Trina’s not-safe-for-work, but entirely understandable, reaction. A later post confirmed the python had been safely removed.

what are you sayinghuh...how can you say those shouting for a holistic approach to corruption fight are myopic...huh...bokoharam insurgence must be put on the heads of northern leaders who chose to side with their islamic brothers just to spite gejs government.....the north should be blamed for bokoharam and should solve bokoharam wahala...that does not in any way preclude buhari from fighting corruption impartially...if the apc thieving leaders cant be probed or their accounts frozen too then the FG should shut their trap up about corruption fight and do what the hell they like...let us just know they are running insane instead of proclaiming to the world they are fighting corruption..we are not baby's..has atikus account been frozenhuh...rubbish
Why did Jonathan not freeze Atiku's account? He was in PDP at the time and they were in power for 6-7 more years after the case.
Jonathan and PDP had their time to probe corruption wether at state of federal level, they were too back deep in looting our resources that they couldn't indict themselves till power left them. The funny thing with people like you is that, those indicted have not denied stealing, they looted at the expense of the lives of common Nigerians to other fund other countries while our economy has been brought to its knees. Yet, you are venting your spleen, raising blood pressure and risking premature death from HBP in defending crooks. cool cool

its not a way forward ...thats the mistake we are making...the apc intends to stick their asss on the presidency and put nigeria in a choke hold just as pdp did for 16 years...who is then gonna probe the apchuh...its a wrong way to fight corruption...countrys that have defeated corruption fought against it holistically devoid of party sentiments or tribe or otherwise....saraki is being tried because he played a fast one on the apc(his own party though) and the likes of tinubu wont let him be...
Every river started with a drop, a thousand miles journey starts with one step..
What EFCC is probing so far is Federal funds stolen....and the people so far proved are the people the funds trail linked to.
So, all the shout about wholistisc fight is myopic and pure sentiments. If your brother was a soldier sent to war with a bruthal enemy like boko, without bullets while his generals and politicians shared the money meant to equip him to fight, and eventually he got killed not for his failure to use his military training but the impunity of his generals. You won't be comfortable thinking as you are now. Your mates in the army were bethrayed by their leaders and collaborators, those raised alarm were hurried tried and sentenced to death just to silence them but Jonathan's stopped him from signing the death warrant from the rogue generals saved their lives.

[b]I am neither by the side of PDP nor APC, but it seems we the youths are losing sight of the real issue here....“It is said that you can fool some people all of the time but you cannot fool all the people all of the time.

Look, You cannot say because immunity covers Fayose that he should not be investigated if he's suspected to have benefited from the funds that were meant to buy arms for the protection of Nigerians. What should have happened to me and you if the Boko Haram are predominant in all the regions today? I think it is high time that we, as a people and government, address the issue of people committing crimes and hiding under the immunity clause.” Remember, the account been investigated is Fayose's, but not the Ekiti State account.

“Fayose must stop chasing shadows and address the allegations against him. It is preposterous that he suddenly remembered that someone was involved in the Halliburton scandal at exactly the same time that he is being investigated over the funds he allegedly collected from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA)...this is my take as a patriotic citizen of the country... There should be no relationship with the house of God and house of politics. Shame on that pastor
My brother, that assertion is no longer tenable believe me. I just to think like that for years until a renown student campus evangelist which even his own fellowship members like me didn't accept his decision to contest for SUG president in Uniben in the 90s. He not contested but he won a landslide and turned SUG around even conducting a successful allure that even his adversaries applauded and started to support him. He completed tenure and leff huge sum of money in SUG treasury. That changed the attitude of students towards Christians in campus politics such that in the subsequent 5 years, Christian politicians won SUG presidency 3x including a former Christian Union president and Bible study Secretary.
It's a matter of the person's character when he enters politics. Good Christians abandoning political matters as a secular endeavour, is the reason cultists and Area fathers hijacked our resources and we are suffering today. As per Pastor Ize-Iyamu, he lacks the character to lead and defend the faith and the state. His 8 years work with Igbinedion and Annenih is fresh in Edo state history. If he had character should have resigned from that administration, a decision that would have earned him an Edo hero status.

Needless to say she cooks all manner of igbo soups, ties all the wrappers and speaks fragments of igbo language. The other wife......
.....same romantic line.

The only danger is that our cousins have no plans of coming back to papa land
meant Charlie Boy's wife is the only African American Nigerian wife that returned and stayed with him. African-Americans buys into the western stereotypes of Africa and they detest Africa. You marry them in America not only will not be allowed to support your folks back home ,you pay dearly for offending them
