Why not first ask if they have PPE in that hospital? I hope you know what PPE is?
Without it, no one has any business attending to a suspected case of Covid-19.
Most general hospitals in Nigeria don't even have hand gloves, let alone PPEs.
Your guys are ignorantly focusing on the health workers who are given nothing to work with, instead of on the government which has failed to equip the hospitals.

Ok so I have just shared this on a nairalander's thread where he complained of having cold and I thought I should also open a thread and share it to everyone out there who might be in the same shoes I was last week.

I understand that a lot of people are panicking now especially those with the coronavirus symptoms and are very much afraid to go check themselves because of all that is being said in the news or media. If you are in such situation, I will advise you to step out of panic, go to the nearest health center and get yourself tested instead of allowing panic take control of you.

Let me tell you all a story of what happened to me last week. I already shared it in my chat room though.

On monday while making arrangements for our TVC shoot, I all of a sudden fell ill. My temperature went up and I started feeling feverish. I quickly handed over to one of my team mate to oversee the work, then I left for the house.

On Tuesday, Wednesday I couldn't go out because I was too weak. Walking for 5 minutes became hell for me because I felt weak and dizzy when walking. I almost asked my whatsapp family what could be the cause of what's happening to me but I didn't want to create panic so I didn't. What I had in mind was malaria, or shortness of blood but my colleague checked me and said I have blood so I just concluded maybe I need to rest because I've been under stress lately.

Thursday we left Lagos for Abuja for our presentation. I was okay anyway. Friday morning I was fine too.

After presentation on Friday, my whole body system changed. My body was hot, I was feverish, having discomfort in the throat, headache and weakness.
Each time it felt like I needed to clear my throat, I would cough mildly to avoid panic amongst my colleagues and everyone present. My close colleagues teased me about having coronavirus knowing that we had just had a presentation on the virus that Friday morning.

That Friday, I lost count of my urination because I kept on going to the convenience every 5 minutes to pee and that's because I drank lots of hot water due to the irritation I was having in my throat. I became worried but my colleague told me to calm down that my frequent urination was due to the cold conference room. His words helped a bit...

The more I read the media especially on Nairaland, the more fear gripped me and there was usually this cold chill in me. I remember reading a thread on Nairaland where a lady gave a vivid story of how she got the virus, symptoms and date. At a point while reading, I felt my whole legs going numb and almost had panic attack. The more I read the news that Friday night the more I shook with fear then this numb feelings in my whole body and felt like I was going to pass out. So I forced myself to stay away from the media.

One Aboki had coughed on me severally even though I turned my face away inside a korope bus, conductor had spat on me while shouting bus stops and asking for money, a passenger had placed her sweaty arm pit on me in a bid to bring out her money, a drug seller had washed his sweat with his finger on me after shouting and hustling his Ghana seed medicines at the populated motor park and of course not to forget, in the Okrika market where I do business, lots of body jamming and these Igbo boys pulling of hands mixed with all sorts of salivas from different mouths... All of these rang in my head which made me panic more. I began to ask myself, "Shile you didn't have HIV is it coronavirus that you will now have?"

That friday night before going to bed, I called my colleagues and asked could it be coronavirus? They all laughed obviously I must have said it in a very funny manner.

Anyway I picked my phone to chat my Daddy.
I said "Dad I think I have the virus". My dad said which virus and I said coronavirus. My dad couldn't control his laughter. I told him see what is happening to me, he kept on laughing.
They all believed my mind was playing pranks on me.

Then I understood what I have been reading on the media was beginning to have an effect on me to the point that it has now replaced the promises of God in my life.

I remembered the psalmist said "The Lord is my Shepherd...I shall fear no evil for you are with me, your rod and your staff comforts me..."
I prayed to God to take control. Following day, my temperature was already reduced except for the weakness and I couldn't feel the discomfort in my throat.

We packed and left for the airport. During check, I was asked to step aside.

Obviously my temperature was high even though it feels warm to me but the thermometer detected it.

I was asked some questions upon questions in an office and my answers were NO. I have not come in contact with anyone who just arrived into the country whatsoever except for my public movements in Lagos.

The lady told me to isolate myself for 14 days for possible check and if there's anything, I should call the numbers given to me but by the time we were done, my colleagues had left me behind.
I rescheduled and came back to Lagos. For the first time, I summoned all courage and shared my story in my chat room on Saturday to drive all fears out of me.

This morning I met my doctor, ran some test and discovered I have malaria and a bit of typhoid which I have started medications.

I want you to know that there are lots of voices out there. Please choose wisely! Please use wisdom when deciding who to listen to. It's not every voice that is dependable at this trying moment. Please pick a few dependable information sources and stick with them. For instance, the NCDC, WHO, LSMOH are excellent.

If the news or social media is noticeably increasing your anxiety like in my own case, please limit the number of times you go on social media to read information that increases panic in you. For me, I completely stopped reading information till I got hold of myself.

Anxiety will always ask for more information. It is greedy and never satisfied. Don't fall into its trap! Also remember the Bible reminds us not to be overwhelmed by what we see. Our God is still on the throne! After the war, the Israelites came to moses and said "we counted and NO ONE IS MISSING" Number 31:49. I pray for you, From NOW till this pandemic ends, NONE will be missing in your family, among your friends and loved ones in Jesus name Amen!

Stay Safe, Wash More & Panicless. Panic kills faster than the virus itself.

PROTECTING NIGERIANS FROM COVID-19 IS PRIORITY FOR US NOW, SAYS PRESIDENT BUHARI

President Muhammadu Buhari Friday in Abuja reiterated the commitment of his administration to the welfare of Nigerians especially with the current happenings around the world.

Speaking while receiving the management of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) in State House, President Buhari said: “I am pleased that you are working with the Ministry of Health on protecting our citizens from Covid-19 virus.”

“You must work to guarantee the safety and security of our pilgrims. As a government, this is now a key priority for us. I therefore enjoin you to ensure that adequate medical provisions and other welfare requirements are afforded our pilgrims,” he added.

The President expressed his delight with the operations of the Commission so far especially, the reduction to up to 15 per cent in Hajj fares.

“I am pleased to hear of the progress you have made thus far especially in reducing Hajj fares by up to 15 per cent. I am also impressed that you are still working to further bring down the cost next year. This is commendable now especially with the recent global events that have impacted on the economy. Such savings will be timely and most welcome to the pilgrims as well as to Nigeria’s economy,” he said.

President Buhari however, cautioned them against sacrificing quality for safety and comfort of pilgrims.

“However, as you assess and reduce these costs, you must ensure that quality service and comfort are provided for our pilgrims as these are the core mandates of your Commission and must remain your primary goal,” he said.

The Chairman of the Commission, Zikrullah Kunle Hassan had informed the President of the efforts of the commission to make life better for Nigerians on pilgrimage. He said that the Saudi government had given some concessions to Nigerians especially in the way of accommodation and tents, assuring the President of even better deals next year when his Board fully takes over negotiations.

“With your kind approval this year, we are working to take full charge of Makhan accommodation because hitherto, the states have been in charge. The idea is that when we take full charge, we will be able to reduce further the cost and to do this, we need to engage the accommodation agents and owners in a possible two to three-year lease with a view to having a reduction in price,” he said.

Alhaji Hassan also appealed to the President to constitute the Board of Trustees of the Hajj Savings Scheme to make it easier for pilgrims to perform their religious obligation.

He further assured that he was in discussions with the Federal Ministry of Health on the Covid-19 pandemic as the Commission aligns itself with government positions in tackling the scourge.

With five (5) new cases discovered already, get set for widespread infection! Activities, especially public activities should be suspended indefinitely.

He rough handled me on my first visit to his house, claims to want a serious relationship. Can he really be serious about being serious or he is just a play boy?

So I met this guy about two weeks ago close to my street. He calls but I hardly pick. Eventually, I picked and he asked if he could pick me after work and we hangout. I accepted. He picked me up after work last week Friday. He was quite interesting and funny, he talked freely like he had known me for years but he was really so touchy, I had barely spent 5 minutes in the car and he was already touching my shoulder and even when we were inside the bar, he tried tickling me, at a point, he put his hands close to my waist, I removed it. We both discussed if we had someone we are currently seeing, I am not seeing anyone which is the truth, he said there is an Ex but they just have sex and she has her own relationship. When he was dropping me off, he asked for a close hug, I hugged him and he wanted to pull me closer and kiss. I broke free and got down. He said I am not nice.

Well, we met again on Monday, I took just water intentionally. This time I minded the distance between us. He wanted to see again on Tuesday, I declined. Then at work yesterday, he asked to see after closing. I told him he can come briefly to my work and we can talk a bit in the car and part ways. He said he would like to host me at his house instead, I declined.

Anyway, he came, I got in and he started driving and saying, I will know his house today and besides his phone battery his low. My mood changed immediately and he tried to guilt trip me and said okay should we stop on the road and get a place to charge his phone. I then told him to continue driving to his house. He stopped on the way and got snacks. We got into his house. It was nice and neat.

Then we were watching a movie, he sat down and placed my leg on his, I was cool with this. Then he made moves to kiss and I declined and pulled away. All of a sudden, he started breathing fast, hugged me so tight and kissed me despite I kept pulling away and didn't kiss back. I am weak when it comes to my Bosom, then he got there and gave me the roughest and painful squeezing I have ever experienced. I haven't been with any man in about 7 months now, I am single and It's hard for me to do a little thing as even kissing randomly. So he got me there when he got to my bosom but it took only just few seconds to snap out. He continued panting and begging for me to reciprocate, he is so hard and hasn't felt this way in a while.

Then he agreed, wore his cloths and kept complaining that I don't know what I have caused and he wont be himself. We left his house and he tried stopping at a Pharmacist and said he needs to get ibuprofen, then he didn't stop again and just continued driving.

This morning, he is apologizing and repeating the things he said when we got to his house that he wants something serious with me and he wants us to start something and want it to work out. He asked to come see me at work today but I declined. With this red flags, is there a possibility that he is truly serious like he said? Or he is just doing the usual lies to get the cookie and go away. He has a nice ride and nice house, I suspect he may have girls around him. My concern isn't all these, I just want to be with a serious man who is in for commitment and not just sex.
