And yet he will forever remain known for being the 44th President of America and the first black Man to take a shit in the presidential carper.
Maybe you should do something of note beyond posting on NL so you don't remain a disgrace to your family.

uwajeh:
Bonny Light Crude was over $100 per barrel in 2014, that translates to over $200 million for 2 million barrels. How could the guy have paid $1 million to secure 2 million barrels of crude. It's either the Donald Latella guy is a crook himself or the story is not accurate.
The 1 million is either the performance bond or logistic fee that these crude oil sales scammers use. too bad they met an Oyibo that has time to report them.
PoliticsRe: APC Now Advertising On MTN 100naira Recharge Cards? by diggler(m): 9:05pm On Nov 15, 2014
People need to understand the business model of the recharge card business before castigating the operators.

Operators generate the PINs and then most times sub card printing out to third parties.

If third party decides to sell the valuable real estate on the face of the card for extra bucks, I for one as a true born capitalist will not begrudge them.

Any body that has complaints should maybe also complain about those PINs that come in plain paper without the scratch panel.

the margins in the recharge printing business are very thin and I can assure you the vendor that came up with this iea is smiling to the bank.

Cheers.
EducationRe: Should ASUU Compensate The Nation For Losses During The Strike? by diggler(m): 5:48pm On Dec 11, 2013
In a perfect world where people have consciences, they should.
However you know the Land we live in.

IMO, this strike is now politically motivated. Though Jona should as a point of urgency axe Nyesom Wike.
If DPJ will allow.

sorry state of affairs.
Foreign AffairsRe: Oscar Pistorius Charged With Premeditated Murder by diggler(m): 11:42am On Feb 19, 2013
Pistorius should be tried and if found guilty, the full wrath of SA Law visited upon him.

Now my take:

that dude is as guilty as bleep.

Do you guys remember his antics at the last paralympics? I've also watch a couple of his interviews on youtube and with benefit of hindsight I can say he has anger management issues.

What I think happened:

He has a fight with the girl friend. it gets nasty, she goes into the bathroom to cool off or hid from him, he picks his glock in a fit of rage and basts her to the afterlife.

Pistorius should HANG! I know a lot of wonderful disabled people so, someone else will take his place as beacon of whatever.

Keshi has bargaining FIRE.

Now the true colour of Nigerians will show.

Amokachi will back stab and take the Job, Oliseh is also chomping at the bit.

Keshi can still move on with his head High.

The truth is our NFF hiding under FIFAs corrupt statues will always get their way and keep running down our football.

Rest of my residence remain sparsely furnished as I hate clutter. Since my Uni days chics always c my convenience as a welcome change from Hostel situation, so I've carried that on. Maybe when the Missus comes along she can bother with matching drapes, and all that jazz. My throne room n bathtub have to be spotless, shining and smell real nice. Chics luv dat.

I'm guessing that in line with the inflationary pressures on the economy my targets for the new FY will increase 200%

GOD DEY, no shaking.
Besides I really don't have any expletive to give this season, so they should bring it on.

I see lots of silver linings in this fuel subsidy fiasco especially for the entrepreneurs. However it will be a female dog!

BusinessRe: What Is Wrong With Starting Big? by diggler(m): 9:48pm On Oct 26, 2011
Dude let me paint you a scenario.

If your James Cameron or Spielberg even walks up to me, and says "I have this idea, blah blah blah, I need $200m to make it work can you invest?"
Omo, I'll use my family for blood money and sell my village to boot just to get in on that action.

what am trying to say is, these folks have made a name for themselves and have what it takes to push any project.

another eg. Hancock; that Will Smith flick was a critical failure (hated it myself) but still scored big at the box office (saw it twice with two different chicks @ Genesis and na me been dey pay, pop corn, big coke et al)

Why: cos Will Smith is bankable (sure those two chics wanted to scream his name whilst i was shafting em) and has the track record.

so make i ask

who sabi you?
how many Aki & paw paw movies have you done?

Guy, I'll give Teco Benson my annual salary before I can even give you N5k and thats a fraction of what i spend on TGIF.

BTW: i work in finance and i'm about closing a N500m financing deal  for a new Cinema chain about to hit y'all in the months ahead.

why would i do that? cos the promoters have a track record in cinema (over 50yrs combined) and know whats up and are known in enertainment circles (globally and locally),

again i ask WHO SABI YOU?

WETIN U DON DO BEFORE?

BusinessRe: For-Profit Library (Media Rental) Business Strategy Essay Contest by diggler(m): 4:50pm On Oct 02, 2011
How do you put something out of the reach of the average Nigerian (esp. the youths of today)?

Answer: you put it in a book.

Seun our people stopped reading a long time ago, maybe save for a few. recent abysmal performances  in WAEC/NECO, Civil service tests etc attest to that.

However, all hope is not lost. there is a silver lining in these dark clouds.

With the explosion of Smartphones, handhelds and next generation tablets (Ipad, playbook, kindle) maybe energies should be dissipated in finding a way to deliver the content of these books via these platforms.

After all these devices are a primary reason people don't read books no more. Most media is now consumed through them.
So seun as an e-entrepreneur, you might want to reassess this.

Besides bookshops are dying real fast in developed climes whilst the Amazons are on the ascendancy.

peace

ps* I've got plans at advanced stages of development and will definitely not sell out for a paltry N60,000.
So if you are interested in a partnership, hit me up.

I appreciate the responses.

Y'all see the conundrum now?

Great process implemented by incompetent A-holes (to borrow @oybs line ) is tantamount to disaster.

That my friends is the problem of banking in Nigeria.

Soludos adventure created a manpower need that was filled with all sorts of charlatans.

Professionalism is one word that should not be used whilst describing the average Nigerian Banker.

Used to see myself as some sorta crusader but this force pass me and I shall leave this their industry the way i met it.

Sad tale i tell ya.

Sup folks?

Life at the grindhouse has been hellish @ best.

We all know about the Ps in marketing situation (people, process, product, place, yadi yada)

In the Nigerian banking space, the product is the same across all the players, so distinguishing factor is clearly the people and the process.

Granted both are extremely important, so i ask if on pain of death you are forced to prioritize, which do you think deserves more focus?

So i dont set a bias, i'll reserve my answers till i get some feedback from the house.

Hope y'all be rolling in the paper.

Cheers

BusinessRe: Trying To Do A Wire Transfer Of An Amount That Is Below 100 Dollars by diggler(m): 7:42pm On Mar 26, 2011
GTB is a joke

Go to FCMB, Stanchart or Fidelity.

It'll cost you a little to open your own dom account but if you rapport with the R/ship officers, they can get a third party to assist you.

though sending 50 euros will cost you minimum of 18 Euros but not more than 25euros.

the reason for this is a standard telex charge of around N3000 or up to 18euros per transfer irrespective of amount transferred.
BusinessRe: 2011 Forbes Rating: Aliko Dangote Ups Wealth To 14 Billion Dollars by diggler(m): 11:43pm On Mar 10, 2011
First Big Ups to Aliko Dangote, IMO that dude should be worth closer to $25bn if u account for every every like someone said earlier.

Also a lot of other nigerians should be on that list but their wealth is shrouded in all sorts of controversy & forbes onl publishes verifiable assets.
which is why ppl like the Marc Rich boys and some other Monte Carlo, Swiss based Billionaires rarely make forbes lists.

now unto things;
I am Igbo.

From Anambra to be precise.

I also work in financial services and understand the Igbo mindset when it comes to business and money.

Until the igbo man jettisons the concept of Okoro & sons ltd. and start setting up going concerns, we will never see the forbes list.

Since various governments have been in power, we all know the various Igbos that have benefited from the various governments.
Emeka Offor was connected to various governments, yet his Oil and gas concerns are just License trading outfits.

Yet people like Kase lawal, the Sahara boys even Wale tinubu of Oando are making waves on the global scale. and boosting up their institutions

All this Igbo agitators had better sip the cool aid and shut the eff up.

This should be my first post of the year.

Till July when the new govt starts taking shape (this our government driven economy sucks), i'll play a holding pattern b'ness wise, no aggressive new ventures till we see what gives.

Meanwyl i'll be on the trail of these political types, tho the circle that shares that friggin politics money aint widening no more.
And lots of my contacts are not in the deep end of the money pool (PDP) no more.

Anyways i'll just enjoy my vacation which kicked off on the 14th and runs till next month.

those boys were actually moving that money to dubai, which they wont admit to cos its a crime.

these two boys are just victims of some over ambitious Airport staffer who felt he wasnt rogered properly.

Sup sup folks.

Can see y'all have been busy.

@ 9 to 5 has been a real grind this past two weeks but thankfully it has all come to an end (for next two weeks at least)

CBN did not help matters with their suspension of FX sales last week. But sharp guys be smiling to the bank cos we saw two to three point spike in USD price.
Though things cooled a bit as at yesterday.

The Customers were also pouring in the xmas/appreciation gifts (even though coy policy dictates i declare, Who go do that one kwanu)
Got me one Live chicken and a Turkey though that status 'Live" go change by 7.00am sharp tomorrow.

Y'all have a blast now, i sure am gonna have one.

PS.  Also one thing i noticed when it comes to gifting, I was more than generous this year doling out the gifts (cash & kind) and boy oh boy i got it back 100 fold.
So i say Give for it shall be given back unto you 100fold.

Sup folks.

Its been a bit.
Tho i've been following the thread sorta. Had a real laugh with the 13th month topic.

@Office
December is usually a 3 quarter month (usually is the operative here'). with my holiday kicking off on the 24th when markets close and we start attending trad weddings, white weddings, house warmings, Chieftaincy, thanksgiving, etc etc (so much free booze in the name of Rship mgt) for the next week till new Year.
Its works like so, Most of my trader customers wire funds all year round with the textile/holiday season products boys peaking sometime between July and Sept .

Then when December comes by we are drowned out in cash as the containers come in, they offload, make sales and fund their accounts ensuring i close the year with 200-300% target achievement on deposits.
Also on the Risk side, those OD accounts that have been in debit since July and hardly cleaned up bounce back into the black, sometimes in excess of 400% the facility amount granted.

Now GEJ in his desperate bid to occupy the villa has turned S#!t to S#!t.
the ink on the import reversals never dry meanwhile men dem have Billions worth of containers being loaded in the ports of Guangzhou, Zheijang and all em Chinko places.

This one dude has 150 containers (i kid you not) 150 containers of assorted items (mostly FMCGs and other holiday items) worth in excess of N2billion on the way. He has cleaned out my USD quota for the week and as we speak even the mallams in Lasgidi are scampering to meet demand.

I just pray suckers dont get burned (too badly cos the most definitely will) when this policy is once again reversed as is typical in our musical chair style of governance.

God bless Naija (Dora can go hug a transformer or use some 'high voltage' love machine if she desires)

peace
