PoliticsRe: Call For Establishment Of Nigerian Marine Force by diggler(m): 8:27pm On Jul 15, 2009
ocelot2006:
this post is a reply to one earlier made with regards to Nigeria owning a marine unit. Yes, the country had a standing marine unit during the civil war (the 3rd marine commando division). But that division was later transformed to the present 3rd armoured division currently headquartered in jos. all the amphibious battalions we currently have (Port Harcourt and Calabar) are all subunits of 82 division, as it is the country's specialized div.

With regards to having a new marine force, I don't think it's necessary. What we need to do is focus on the amphibious battalions we have. We need to provide them with additional patrol boats, fast attack crafts, landing crafts, hovercrafts, communication kits, and body armour. We also need to provide the airforce units that support these battalions with more attack and transport helicopters as they come in very handy during patrols and combat insertion and extraction. We also need maritime recon assets like more fixed wing aircrafts and unmanned arial vehicles (UAVs). But what we need mostly is a change in our training doctrine. That means we need more training in counter-insurgency warfare, river-rine patrols, counter-terror ops, recon and surveillance, urban terrain ops, and direct action. We also need more officers and NCOs that can think on their feet and outside the box.

Now, the Nigerian military has actually acquired some of these assets. These include maritime patrol aircrafts (2 ATR-48s & 2 A-109s) for the airforce and navy respectively, and a high tech surveillance system that includes two UAVs from Israel for the navy, and two unmanned seaborne vehicles for the navy (also isreali). The establishment of new special operations units in the army, navy, and police also marks a change in thinking within the military. However, a lot still needs to be done.
OL BOY U too much, reading ur post was like reading a Clancy novel with all the detail on the military Hardware.

But like u said, a lot needs to be done & the money to pay for all this would be put to better use developing the delta.

Think about it, The per capita expenditure on the average US military man is around $2 million.(based on 2008 defense budget of $713bn & assuming 500 ppl in the us military) Now u should know it probably costs more to train a Marine which is like entry level Special Ops not to talk of Green Berets, Recon units etc etc.

Like someone said earlier we shuld free the area & let MEND provide the security since they've proven their superiority in the region over time.
Now $2m is like N300m and u know what 10% of that can do in the Niger delta.

grin grin grin grin

This is some freaky shyte.

A couple of months back (easter monday or so) the boys & moi hung out with some chics @ one of em hotels.

On said date the Pool wuz kinda crowded & the honies insisted on swimming.
Us boys not being in the mood decided to nurse shine shine & udeme on the side.

After a some bottles with the honies delaying, one of em beer inspired topics came up & guess what it wuz about.

One of my homeboyz postulated that if all the suckaz in the pool were to jack-off @ that instant, the likelyhood of one of em honies getting loaded with a chlorinated INCREDIBLE HULK was like 90% possible.

And after a drawn out argument & more bottles we all agreed it was possible.

My ribs have been hurting since i stumbled on this thread, some crazy shyte, LWKMD!!!!!!!!!

Btw dem suckas @ Head Office r reviewing targets & rumour has it mine is goin up some 75%.
I just hope the mega profits we posted on the wake of the FX storm will in our Share-of-Profits cos omo boy don dey eye some assets for acquisition & its cash down for me no Consumer finance crap (na we dey run the 19 so i know all the pitfalls)

CareerRe: Annual Salary For Entry Levels In Fidelity, Gtb, And Zenith Bank? by diggler(m): 10:14pm On Jun 27, 2009
If u base ur decision to join any of the above three banks largely on the  Financials, then u're getting it wrong my friend.

However @ entry level (from marketing perspective cos thats the glam part of banking)
all three institutions base entry level pay ranges from N1m pa to N1.7m pa cos in the end entry level get levels

Zenith
Here the pressure no be beans especially with the tough economic times.
So get ur God fathers in place to aid you meet your target. Once u're doing that money will not be an issue
Pay is tied to performance especially the higher you climb.

GTB here u've got a strong & respected brand with good corporate culture.
So if you wanna learn service excellence kinda banking, this is the place for you.
Plus they train the hell outta their ppl.

Fidelity This is a low profile new generation bank. They are average in most spheres.
Plus unlike zenith, performance is not tied to pay, though if u wanna be promoted, bring in the business.
Also they train their staff a lot & u'll learn a thing or two about conservative banking in a new generation setting.

So like i said Money aint every thing cos the entry pay is not what counts. But ur worth (financial & otherwise ) down the line

Even if the top is crowded, if u hammer dem with enuf cash courtesy of ur Godfathers in government or chopping from government (na where d money dey) then bliv u me u will be in the BOD sooner than u can say Okro Soup.

PoliticsRe: Anambra 2010 Governorship Election; Pdp Goes For Soludo by diggler(m): 10:21pm On Jun 16, 2009
I'm like one of Soludo's biggest fans especially on the Economic front.
And I wont be far from the truth in saying that he's one of the best technocrats this country has seen.

However

With all due respect to anambra politics, Soludo aint got what it takes to navigate those waters.
To me he is much in the same mould as the incumbent Mr Peter Obi.
Who seems to have this warped view that you can run a state like Anambra as if its your private business.

Anambra has a too much "Big '4 nothing' Men" and to effectively navigate them waters you need to be very tactful.
Since this dispensation started, i think the Governor that best managed these Big men was Chris Ngige 'Onwa'. cept for the running battles with the Uba clan.

Left for me, Soludo should go back to the pimped out digs he arranged for himself @ UNN's economics department and maybe even play some role in taking that institution to the top whilst whiping out some future versions of himself.

Common year end is here to stay & I predict a scenario where u'll see bankers in those suits (expensive, cheap all join) having shootouts in the Offices, residences & most especially hotel rooms of the HNI's.

instead they'd be raking in taxes from an estimated $60billion a year industry.

hell!! Guzman was declared a billionaire by forbes & thats tax free baby.

Legalize all drugs & tax the shit outta them especially the more dangerous specs (LSD, Crack Cocaine etc)

Also we wouldnt be having the madness in the FX market right now cos most of my Narco-logisitcs Baron kinsmen would freely root out their $ bills to stabilize the Naira.

So i say legalise drugs, prostitution (make this one tax free, cos kitten should be free or at least cheap).

The NFF (where $200,000 dollars can walk of a safe) will never give the Super Eagles to Samson Siasia.

In this country, all our problems have solutions but these will never be implemented unless there is a way it benefits some goat head peppersoup chomping, beer guzzling asswipe in power.

We failed in that game not due to the players but simply due to tactical deficiency from the bench.

Granted most of the players were far from their best, but with the right tactical approach we should've beaten Mozambique even with a sub par performance.

In the end its about tactics & 11 professionals that can execute em (we've got 75% of the later and not the former)

Jose Mourinho & his various teams (Porto, Chelsea & Inter) give sub par performances most of the time but cos of the right tactical guidance from the bench, they grind out tha results.

I am was a big Amodu fan especially when he guided us to 1995 Intercontinental cup in Saudi & also in the early days of his 2nd missionary journey b4 he let the Sunday Oliseh Mafia take over @ Mali 2002.

Since then i've lost all faith in him.

For me the best two indigenous coaches remain Samson Siasia & Austin Eguavoen (who paid for Vogts sins)

Common Sense they say is not common.

Cos we all know that of u treat a customer/client nice they r gonna think of u first when next they have need for ur service or product.

Still it is hard for our most ppl to understand this.

However, i guess as our economy improves and the competition for bizness heats up across the various sectors, folks will realize that the difference between profitability& Loss, staying employed & being jobless, growth & decline etc etc, will rest on ur ability to retain and grow ur client base by offering them the lil extras d other folks dont offer.

For me, the Job search thingy never stops till the day i become da Boss -preferably of my own juicy/challenging hustle-like Jericho (not so sure now) &  Lawyer.
So as u search keep ur eyes open for sweet rackets (no matter how small) out there unless u aint the entrepreneurial type.
