Tolzzzzz123: Hi everyone, please I need a quick advice. I stated in my LOE for my POF that I have a small business aside my job although my POF was not raised from it. I just had to state it due to the influx of the deposit from customers. I was adviced to add it to my personal history but I have been finding it difficult to add due to the options available. The only option that seem ok is employment and it requires employer name or company and even Position.
Please your advice will be highly appreciated It’s very simple...State name of your company, under position you put owner/ceo. |

55emem55: I am in this situation as well.
My former colleagues no longer work for the company and the company is not really functional. Plus it was a one man business.
Do you think a former colleague (who no longer works there) can write a reference letter for me and attach their previous work ID card?
I only have resignation letter and bank statement to show that I actually worked there.
In this case, what's the best way to handle this?
mamaroon, ednut and other seniors, please share your thoughts. The bolded is what i would advice since you’re unable to reach anyone else and company is no longer functional. Hopefully others agree with me. |

Rerin: I tried making payment for 32pages standard e passport yesterday via online through netpost or so which i saw at NIS website, it was requesting for my Card pin which is unusual. Pls is it normal? Can someone advise with alternative Yes it is, go ahead and pay. I also used net post to pay for my passport. Most payment platforms ask for your pin then send you and otp to use in completing the transaction. |

Mamaroon: You have said it all senior Dimple.
1.Gold Standard- ref letter in IRCC format signed by HR or supervisor on letter head
2.Next Best Thing - ref letter on plain paper signed by supervisor or colleague with business card/ID
Adding goals, appraisals, promotion letter, pay slips with LOE in the absence of 1 and 2 above is a gamble, #personalopinion. I also don't think affidavits are permitted. Someone just showed us his GCMS notes with review required, he did not submit his ref letter.
You may also check this old post, the docs suggested may show you work in XYZ company but I'm not sure they show the duties performed: https://www.nairaland.com/2624318/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/514#57264063
Go and look for any former owners, supervisors or colleagues would be my suggestion. Yaaay!!!! Mo ti di senior Thank you!!! franzyod: I don't know anyone that works there. The business is more or less not functional again. See your options. Find a way around it, best to avoid ADR or something ontop Proof of employment. Wish you the best. |

Uriel12: I'm only allowed to write the exam with the proof of identification I registered with.
How do I forfeit? Do I cancel the order somewhere? Or I just go to the office and let them know about the decision. By forfeit i mean forget the money you paid online but maybe try going to their office and speaking to someone, they might advice you how best to go about it. However there is a chance they will tell you that money has gone straight to voicemail. |

Prudento: From my former application (trv), AOR (Acknowledgement of Receipt?) usually comes a day or a few days after application. So, does that invariably mean once your application is received it is no longer impacted by spouse's profile? Yes!!!! Adding spouse after AOR doesn’t have an effect on your crs points. People have mentioned it been done on previous parts of this thread. |

Uriel12: Yes. But unlike you, mine is so urgent. I'm on the verge of losing an opportunity with no where to turn to now... If you are unable to reschedule the exam, you may have to forfeit already paid funds and pay for the 64pages because it’s urgent. Also consider going to a different state to get it or find out if it’s possible to use other government approved ID’s to write the exam. Hopefully you figure it out soon. |

franzyod: Hi guys,
What can I do when my past employers refused to give reference letters? The both jobs were one man businesses and they have totally ignored my emails.
These reference letters are the only things holding me back now.
Please anyone who has been in this situation or knew someone who was, kindly let me know the way forward. Did you get employment letters from them and are you in contact with any of your former colleagues or supervisor or HOD from there? If yes, get one of them (Preferably one who still works there) to write you a reference Letter. Add thiS to employment letter and submit. |

Prudento: If you get married after submitting e-APR (is that e-application?), will your wife's profile still count towards your crs score and could you be denied if it falls way below the cut of for the round of invitations? At what point may you add your spouse without impacting your application?
Thanks. Answer to your question is YES. Best time to add spouse is after you get AOR as points will not be affected. Raise CSE and add spouse providing the marriage happened after submission. |

darlinvalerie: The question was not answered. In the Education section, they ask how many years spent for the WAEC degree and they also ask name of school. I wrote WAEC twice and at different schools, so I am asking what the RIGHT thing to fill is, which is the basis of my original question (pls read it again) Its not about how many points it will fetch me. 7 yrs... The school where you wrote your exam and passed is the one you name in the application because if you are for any reason asked to provide (Will likely not happen) waec result thats the one you will bring out. Write an attached LOE Explaining your situation if it’ll help you feel better. |

OlakunmiSMELTD: Please guy, where is the place for me to change my Naira to euro? It is possible I change it at my bank ( GTB)
Secondly, I planned to use use local flight from Abuja to Lagos first, before talking the international flight. My worries now is that, local flight is 20k While international flight is 23kg * 2 My luggage is about 35kg *1
Will the local flight accept the 35kg or charge me ? What could likely be the charge of the 15kg extra
Thirdly, international flight says 23kg * 2 But am only Carrying 35kg * 1 And 1 school bag Will that be a problem or I must have 23kg and 12kg in another luagage Solutions: 1. Carry an extra travelling box or bag, put your 35kg inside and like that for the local flight. pay the extra luggage fee on the local flight. Then for the international flight, Split your 35kg luggage into 2 using the extra travel box carried and save yourself excess luggage fee on this leg of the journey. 2. Split 35kg in two and pay excess luggage fee for local flight. Travel with your 2 luggages and laptop or backpack on the international flight at no extra cost. 3. Refer to solution 1 above but go by road from Abuja to Lagos. Split luggage and travel to Canada. |

darlinvalerie: Can anyone answer this question for me ? please and thank you. Someone actually answered you but i guess you missed it. Whether you wrote waec 10x isn’t really Relevant to the application So don’t stress over it. What matters is your university degree as evaluated by the ECA body. No need to complicated issues by explaining about failing and rewriting. Make your application as simple as possible and if the VO requires any clarification, you will get an ADR. |

LuckBrother: Hello family, been following this thread as a guest and I appreciate the work everyone is doing to help each other. I have a small issue I want to clarify.
My POF has been complete since last year when I thought I'll get ITA from back to back draws of dec. Anyway, fast forward to this year and I decided to use some money for business to earn more funds during Covid19. Now I've gotten ITA, I'm expecting the balance of 400k from a colleague I did the business with to be returned back to my account which will bring my funds back to being above the minimum. Hope it wouldn't be a problem when I submit my bank statement? Pls I need your advice It shouldn’t be a problem but if it makes you sleep well at night, write an LoE for the 400k coming in. |

You can remark if you’re confident that it’ll change. The scores may increase or stay same but it won’t decrease. To be on the safe side remark listening, speaking and writing. nafitari: Hi everyone,
I just checked my IELTS result and had
Overall 8.0
Listening 8.0 Reading 9.0 Writing 7.0 Speaking 7.5
I'm thinking of remarking my writing and hopefully get a 7.5. I'm worried that the mark could decrease after reevaluation.
Is this possible? can the score reduce?
Please help |

Prudento: Consider a scenereo where someone has experiences as 1. Agric. Extension Advisor (NOC A) - 1year, 2. Food Service Supervisor (NOC B) - 1yr, and Baker (NOC B) - 1yr. Is it acceptable as 3yrs experience? Yes it is unless you are applying for SINP where your work experience has to match your studies. |

Prudento: Hello my people, please I'm confused about the work experience requirement. Please what do they mean by this: " ii. In the last 10 years, how many total years of foreign skilled work experience do you have? It must have been paid, full-time (or an equal amount in part-time), and in only one occupation"
Does one occupation mean you should be, for example, a Baker, or Teacher... for the entire period? What if you have three different jobs under the same NOC within the ten years; is it acceptable?
Thank you o Edit: the question is asking if you have held at least one job for a continuous period of 1 year. Example is working as an admin for 1yr then the rest of your work experiences will be 6month, 5months etc with different employers. If you mean having a job title like hr/admin/executive assistant and can fit your JD under Noc 1241For the last 10yrs then it’s fine. You can also have worked under different NOC’s in the last 10yrs. As long as the Noc’s are under 0, A, B then you’re good too. |

bezimo: I used NYSC and got my PR no issues. All you mentioned are not necessary..LOE..payslips..bank statement(except its to satisfy POF requirement) etc
Anybody using NYSC must provide the reference letter on the school letter headed paper and MUST indicate the period worked as at least precisely 1 year or more...not less. Hours worked per week must also be stated and not less than 30hrs. Remuneration on a per month or per annum basis must be indicated on the letter. Responsibilities also must be clearly stated. This should be fine. The letter is enough to stand on its own to justify your eligibility under the FSW stream...
If you had gotten the right counsel before your first submission you would not have been dismissed.. Notice how i used the word “necessary documents” and “if you have to”. Some people will have challenges and at the end of the day provide every necessary document what you need to Prove your work experience. I may not have gone into every single detail of my application and denial on here because public forum but please don’t just assume. Have a great day sir. |

youngwolf: In my case here I have checked my result online with idp and my speaking changed now my crs score will be 474. Now I’m worried because I don’t know if the TRF number will change. I just called MODs office and the told me the print out is not ready. And I really wanted to take advantage of the draws today. If your online result has been updated with the new mark then go ahead and use the TRF stated online. It will be the same as on paper (that was my own case). However you need to know the date the new result was released because you’ll need to input it when completing your EE profile so unless you’re sure of the date, just hold on till you receive it. In my case, the date was the same day they emailed me to let me know my EOR came back positive. I wrote my exam with MOD/IDP. |
