You can't mention balanced diet and Naija food in one breath.

eat the hausa diet === milk and soya beans + suya for a month

the problem is many people like to eat heavy stuff thinking it will sustain them for several hours under the sun

we need to explore outsourcing, customer service outsourcing.India makes billions of dollars from call centers, they have call centers that employ millions of people who offer customer service support for companies in the us.companies in the us and uk outsource their customer service calls to India, bcoz they are cheaper to hire.We can have this kind of business opportunity in nigeria.
companies will rather pay $100/hr in their home countries instead of outsourcing their call centres to nigeria!!
coz we are too smart for our own brain and never content with salary!!!

there are call centres in SA now

I am a Nigerian and trained in France. As I have a double Nigerian-French citizenship, i was offered an Fi position in the Uk, which I would be starting in August. But my first choice would be to come back to Nigeria to do my internship. It is not the issue of money that is important to me, but a principle. How can this useless oyinbos be brain-draining the African man to develop their NHS. I have contacted the Medical and dental council of Nigeria, and they are exempting me from any exam, because my school is listed on those accepted for provisional registration. So I understand this man. This is a matter of principle, and not money. The Oyinbo man is a cheat, always on the trying to take advantage on the black man.
BROS how far na??, I SEE you are already in the UK working with the NHS SEF na wa for principle o

I wonder if the nhs know how you feel about useless oyinbos

Politics › Re: Federal Government Suspends Fuel Importation (Says LeadershipNigeria) by DisGuy: 8:31pm On Oct 31, 2009
I dont think theres scarcity now, I think people are panicking, if the government stops importation today the effect shouldn't be felt till some few weeks, since the government announced November 1st people start buying more for the future
Politics › Re: Federal Government Suspends Fuel Importation (Says LeadershipNigeria) by DisGuy: 8:12pm On Oct 31, 2009
The thing i don't get is the suspension of importation, instead of flooding the market with the product
at least the product will be available for people who can pay for it

Where are the Nairaland economists!

Yes deregulation is a supply sided aid. Elementary Economics describes that when supply is shortened at the expense of demand, the price increases and the consumers suffer. This is the scenario we're looking at.
well with a responsible government, this is a good policy, the country will be saving a massive 600b yearly
which can then be channelled into transportation, education, health and maybe a pay rise wink
plus there might be more incentive for private refineries

I think for the mosque, One call to prayer is enough for a district or 'estate' depending on how the area is
If one mosque does the call to prayer everyone should go to their nearest mosque instead of getting a call to prayer
for every individual mosque
Travel › Re: Nigerian's Begging For Asylum In Greece by DisGuy(mod): 4:24pm On Oct 31, 2009
thameamead:
Did anyone watch last night's Unreported World on Channel 4. It was about Afghan's languishing in over- crowded jails just like Nigerian's in Libya, Towards the end of the progarmme there was a scene where both afghan's and African's were begging for asylum in the rain. i was able to pick up two nigerian accents from a lady and a man. Why are our people going to places like Greece to seek asylum, these people are ill-informed, i know how bad things are in Nigeria but i know Greece is worst. Uk, Holland and Us is much better, at least you can work illegally if know the right people here in the UK, If anyone out there in Nigeria is reading this, pls stay away from Greece and Libya, try the Uk and pls be here before the next election when the "we shall deport all illegal immgrants and bogus asylum and refugee & scrap the human right's bill" party(conservatives- tory toffs) win the election,
most people going to all these countries are not going there because they want to, they just want to leave the country by any means necessary and some assume they can get into neighbouring countries once they are there but they usually get stuck before they can make plans

the tories are only talking tough because of the elections once they get voted in; the chances of deporting ALL illegal and bogus asylum seekers is slim- the laws are too complicated and the process is very expensive!!

A forum where people only talk and nothing else happens - talk, talk, talk and absolute no effect on the real society
actually many people got jobs through the site, made money when the going was good at the NSE, career-wise got certified quicker in their various exams esp IT, SAP, accounting etc etc, plenty got advise for visa application

I guess you mean on a political scale no effect but individually I'd say the effect and potential effect is massive!
It wasn't designed to be a tool for change in the society, the young man was just creating a simple forum to generate income-so kudos

Chairman, Senate Committee on Finance, Iyiola Omisore, today lost his seat.

The court of Appeal, sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State, nullified his election in the April 21, 2007 National Assembly polls for not complying with the Electoral Act.

The election, the court added, was marred by widespread violence, thuggery and malpractices.

It ordered that another election be held in 60 days

@Dogice, congrats. You seem to know what you want. I've always said most answers/experience about Canadian immigration is on this thread, especially with regards to the Canadian Study Visa. Any serious person who goes thru this thread patiently will be able to put together a package that will pass the "sniff test" instead alot of people are interested in asking dumb questions repeatedly. Anyway, I'm guessing you'd be going to Fredericton, NB? What program? Let me know when you plan travelling; I'd give you a few contacts if you want.
exactly , imagine a potential PG student asking if he can apply for visa in nigeria huh
Politics › Re: Useless Journalism In Nigeria (Name and Shame) by DisGuy: 1:20pm On Oct 29, 2009
Further more, I think the trash journalists don't usually meet the standard of their primary audience in a lot of cases. For example what is the point or how does it satisfy your audience by reporting on teachers striking over none implementation of the TSS without even detailing what the TSS entails in regards to package? What is the current package of teachers and what package are they fighting for at each grade? That is just useless journalism.
thank you till date i'm still searching for this agreement

Apparently ASUU were on strike because the govt didnt implement the 2007 agreement and no single newspaper
explained what the agreement was or what the strike was about apart from increase wages

sometimes you watch NTA the night before hoping to get detailed information about contracts announced but all you get is exactly what the minister of information reads out after FEC meeting

A breakdown of the projects show that Abia has four projects worth about N9 billion, Akwa Ibom, four projects worth N10.2 billion, Bayelsa (six) totaling N29 billion and Cross River State (three) worth N6.1 billion.

Others are Delta (six) valued at N50 billion, Edo (three) worth N7 billion, Imo (four) estimated at N6.5 billion, Ondo (three) worth (22.5 billion) and Rivers (11) totaling N35.6 billion

And it seems buhari forgot something under the carpet in aso rock, why is he so determined to go there, whta exactly has he achieved in his local region which is still dominated by the main party

I just hate the way they don't follow up announcements or include a time-line for contracts awarded as if that information is unnecessary they don't even bother to check if the contract is on or not

a journalist writing about Dbanj today will be writing about deregulation tomorrow!! they should employ
proper economists that have real life working experience not just theory bashing writers posing as journalists!

Reuben Abati is a writer no a journalist! he is one part lemon 100 part water he used to be good though now his articles are as watery as it gets!

As trashy as the Sun newspaper is they have enough power to effect change in the UK
