Richyblack is the only moderator in this section,  he has not been online for a while
he is not an employee of Seun, he is a volunteer like the rest of the moderators

this thread can be stuck to the first page by the moderator but the Admin-Seun
can remove it if he doesn't want it there

I think there's an Ethics to fundraising -being loud and aggressive is certianly not one of them
just do the best you can

TheSeeker:
You will be surprised that if you put this thread on other sections it'll get deleted. And who told you they can't make a thread be on the first page? All those section rules that are always on the first page, how do they do it? Is it God that puts them there?
I meant front page not First page, they can make it stick to the first page though

another thing is moderators are not online 24/7, so be patient as much as we want to help we shouldn't be overly aggressive!

computer software remove post that have web links in them most of the time, to reduce spamming, the admin
is responsible for reposting those deleted comments- will try to forward it to the admin and moderator

Politics › Re: Why Is The Eastern Region The Only Region Without An Airport? by DisGuy: 2:17pm On Sep 29, 2009
dunno cheesy

The same company or similar companies should be encouraged to manage the road in that region
I just watched a report about the roads this morning on ait its lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

Onlytruth:
This quote captures the sentiment of most south easterners. If we really want that international airport at Enugu or Owerri, then we must be prepared to keep our eyes OPEN and fight whoever tries to sabotage it (because they would fight it!).  Believe me, not a few people are afraid of what that portends for their local economies. An international airport at Enugu is enough to deny Lagos of at least 60% of air traffic. It can also help move the economy eastwards, that's a fact! We must bear this in mind to enable us focus on the real saboteurs of that airport.
so with IMO international Airport Lagos is experiencing low traffic?
Politics › Re: Why Is The Eastern Region The Only Region Without An Airport? by DisGuy: 2:01pm On Sep 29, 2009
becoomrich:
A rich yorubaman built lagos airport terminal 2, let an igboman build an airport in igboland. you dont have to wait for the federal govt. Go and see OYEDEPO university. igbos can do it if you try. i believe you can build a better airport.

Look why dont you start it on nairaland and open a bank account in Nigeria with the support of the EFCC and a knew bank . you would shock what your people can come up with.
SapeleGuy:
As far as an international airport is concerned ndigbo deserve one, why can the Igbo states not come together build one. Delta & Akwa Ibom have done it why not you. Why do you people have to turn everything into ethnic war.
I keep wondering why private companies are not interested in building or financing projects in the East seems everyone is after blaming the FG for their problems

The East and many other parts of Nigeria should form their own Bi-Courtney instead of signing irrelevant MoUs all over the place

@saridon p

Don't mind that clown that wants to teach you forex.

If you wish to get a return on your idle funds from Nigeria, then you have several options,

If you are not very risk averse

1. You could pick a money market instrument like Treasury bills or fixed deposit and allow the interest compound with time.

2. You could also pick stocks to invest in as most of them are now very affordable and offer promise of stable returns for the medium to long term

If you are risk Averse

1. Try setting up an eatery in a commercial or densely populated part of Lagos

2. You could start a car dealership
Yes you should consider A restaurant combined with a 'viewing centre' and perhaps a hall for birthday parties, weddings, anniversaries, seminars (you customers for this will be mainly forex teachers) etc

You can also try Transportation business- look out for states with average roads and good security inter state or intra states- start with 2-3 buses, 4-5 keke marwas and 6-7 okadas = saridon_p transport cool [this way you are employing people too]

David Blunkett anyone? even Brown is one the pill= Ze brown pill grin

His ability to do the job is one thing his health is another, I personally think the best way
to get things done right now is to set aside this rule of law thing to a degree- following the law in nigeria
is a long boring and sometime non-productive process, you need to bamboozle you way through then people can ask questions later!
the National assembly and co are busy feeding fat on this rule of law over sighting frenzy!!

please take that picture off it's scary!!!!

APPLE Sellers demonstrate in Lagos by eating Apple - AIT

where are apples imported from? The main problem is with our weather Apples should have a sell by date
else they'll rot within 3-5 days when exposed

Outstrip:
I don't think he sounded callous at all. He was speaking to professionals so he simply just had to be real. They know what's up. I think it is still the time to buy shares especially since they basically can't fall any lower. Besides what's the point of selling something when you have already lost most of the value. If you have not sold by now I say just leave it where it is even if it takes years to recover.
True, those selling should be thinking ' who in the right mind is buying'- those buying now are not idiots they know in the long term it will turn around, people are so used to quick 2 weeks transactions they forget long term investment.

And just to turn the screw on- the people buying these shares you are selling now are arabs, muslims and northerners! they are about to take over with the help of this mallam- you better not let them!!!  grin

Do you know how good it feels having your own website with this gibberish--Of a truth some are born great, others achieve greatness, while others still have greatness thrust upon them. But rarely do we have these three attributes combined so well in an individual-

Education › Re: Lead City University by DisGuy: 8:02am On Sep 28, 2009
Lagos — A student at the Lead City University, Ibadan rushed home crying and everybody in the her family was disturbed and agitated by her revelation. The family members had expected her to be participating in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) early this year. That was however not to be as her school, had a backlog of students awaiting call up. Her parents consoled her that going by the words of the university and considering that she was done with all her academic requirements she would be mobilised for the scheme later this year perhaps with the first batch or at most with July Batch.

Alas, they were off the mark; the crisis was deeper. She revealed to them that the university management had issued a statement that most of, if not all, their 100 level results were missing. As a result they have to retake those courses and pay N50, 000 per course before they can be considered for graduation and subsequently participate in the NYSC scheme.

People are selling their stocks because you have destroyed confidence in market.
really the bubble burst last year!!! he was not even appointed yet haba mallam!

actually in other countries investors will be BUYING MORE BANK SHARES RIGHT ABOUT NOW! they know the companies will do well in the future after a big hit, in nigeria with the whole mago mago in the NSE they should be cautious but all the same this is how you buy a bank, when everyone is selling you keep buying it till you become the major shareholder!!

very sad.

but let Yaradua wife donate the money instead of going to Atomic Agency Office in Vienna.

Better still, let OBJ donate part of the award money given to him by spanish Government.
ssssh take it easy with the name calling, in cases like these you should ask what the local people/govt are doing before asking someone from mars why they are not helping, what is the local councilor, chairman, senator governor doing before asking someone in Abuja or sokoto!

are we sending to the money to one account for onward delivery or just to the account stated in the front page

why do people assume seun reads all the posts in here? he has a lot to do you know, if its not in the front page you can just forward it to whoever you want! was this on the front page of a national newspaper?

and if they feel nigerian news is important enough to send a reporter to the niger delta in nigeria i might add, to cover kidnappings, millitancy etc, i think they can cover something positive about the country happening in their own backyard.
granted the story has limited appeal but it will help to boost a positive image of the nation that is why i added that madam rebrander be alerted. we all know the power of the media.
What happened to our own media, shouldn't they take a break from talking about politicians and some corrupt money bags
they can also take a break from showing us 'society' weddings every weekend!
