joseph1832:Joe, this is the you I know being deductive and comparatively rational on certain issues like economics, relationships, and religuon. Then it comes to Nigerian sociopolitics, and you'd go full-blown fanatical defending anything APC. If we replace the man in the illustrations by the guys above with an APC chieftain accused of acquiring properties from state funds, you'd have theoretized about how he made billions rom those same humble businesses, even as implausible as the explanations might seem. How do you manage being this and switching full maize-mode? Alter egos? MPD? How? What did you get initiated into? |
toyeoye:Surprised? Nairaland has been run over like a rabbit on a superhighway while Seun is fighting strangers on Twitter. |
Godx:Tired? One moment "Leave my mentions; I'd no longer respond!"; Next you keep giving single-alphabetical replies. See? Why should anyone take you seriously when you have no conviction? You can't even stand by your own comment. This is the part where I let you be. The point was to prove how contradictory your opinions are. Point made. ![]() |
Godx:Good. Now go back to some backwater section or thread to troll like the simpléton you are, incapable of deduction and inferences. |
Godx:No, your post quoted from 18 months ago broke-trolled those living abroad for living on hype and nothing more despite their "work rate", yet insulting Nigerians for not having the same work rate which they should emulate from those abroad. You implied nothing is guaranteed on minimum wage even there but term Nigerians lazy who are on the average paid even less. I like that you're throwing tantrums. At least we know you have the emotional stability of a love-deprived child asides being contradictorily silly. |
Godx:If you had half the intelligence of a cuttlefish, you'd have realized your posts depict that working multiple jobs guarantees nothing if the cumulative pay is low. One moment, everyone abroad is broke and doing badly; the next, Nigerians would be doing well on the average if the imbibe the work ethics of those whom you already term broke and living in places you refer to as "hype job". Pick a stand. But no surprises - your post history is replete with such contradictory absurdities. |
Same guy 18 months ago. Godx: Godx: |
joseph1832:I could go back and forth with you on this even though this aspect has been addressed by others on this thread, but in truth, I am more primarily concerned about the FDI and other such benefits stemming from it to my own state of origin since we had a delegation there. These are the people I can hold accountable to some extent, unlike the FG which has always seemed elusive and so distant from the populace. |
This morning, Ibom Air took delivery of an Airbus. Commissioned by the Governor. Nine more expected within the next 12 months. https://punchng.com/ibom-air-gets-first-airbus-plane-expects-nine/ Come live and invest in Akwa Ibom. And tour, of course. If you're a tech company or techie, there are special incentives. Even a tech estate if you want. |
joseph1832:I deliberately made no comment about the Cop28. Akwa Ibom had a special delegation. Plus the Governor and Akpabio are on very good terms so Umo Eno has access to Tinubu. Probably the closest of the newly-elected Governors this year. Still, the Nigerian delegation was too large. There's still no explanation for Toke Makinwa's presence and she's trolling Nigerians to rub it in. |
Ayomitemedia:. You are disabled yet a sex worker who does sexual things for men in exchange for money yet want to be treated with respect or want men to take you seriously? What is wrong with a lot of women and accountability for their actions? |
Two days ago, Tech Cabal published an article/report on the Akwa Ibom Tech Week which took place last month in the cities of Uyo and Ikot Ekpene. The article highlights all of the indices which make Akwa Ibom Africa's next tech destination (infrastructure and others). And more. It also announces an equivalent of the Lagos Angel Investment Network which I have always pointed out for years on this forum and beyond as the fuel for the digital tech startup explosion in Lagos (and Nigeria and Subsaharan Africa by extension). The equivalent being the Ibom Angel Network . Do read the full article here, gentlemen: https://techcabal.com/2023/12/05/akwa-ibom-tech-week-aims-to-make-the-state-africas-new-tech-destination/ .🙂 |
BlueRayDick:It was. Awolowo played the tribal card to truncate Azikwe's inroad into Western politics. That was a rallying cry against Azikwe. Zik, in anger, rallied his kinsmen in the Eastern region to oust the incumbent Prof. Ita (an Ibibio occupying the seat). The tension from that fallout carried on into the Civil War, coupled with increased ante-war prejudice, even though the whole of the Eastern region, including the Akwa-Cross areas and Ijaw areas, suffered destruction too. The vehement opposition of the later two areas to any inclusion on any present-day Biafran map dates back to pre-Civil War politicking fallouts. Tribalism was weaponised then too. This is a part of history which makes many people in these areas uncomfortable so they completely ignore it. |
izzou:We were just as divided, only not livestreamed and the angst experienced in real time from the comfort of our phones. Read about the tribal tension between Azikwe and Awo, both contesting for the Western seat, and Azikwe versus Prof. Ita (an Ibibio) which led to the ousting in the Eastern seat. Tribalism was weaponised even then. Some revisited history would only cause more pain and disunity so it's better left alone, sometimes. |
Getting intimate with an ex is for losers with little options. There are 8 billion people in the world, 200 million in this country, and at least 6 million in your state of residence. About a quarter of those or so are single women. Why call an ex? Have the abundance mentality. Life is finite, our mortality too short. Enjoy the expanded human experience instead of going back to some ex you parted ways with. Start with your Facebook Messenger - thousands of options. In groups too. Exes? I don't care if you were an angel or as stunning as a beauty queen, once I withdraw, it's on to the next one. Archived messages and deleted contacts. |
joseph1832:Ray freaking J! |
iamoyindamola:Donna always looked good, with good facial structured. She looked good from way back too. Just skin retouching to remove wrinkles. Donna from Suits TV series. She was 40+ in the series and stunning. |
iamoyindamola:That's what they'd have you believe - underplay the revenue. I used to believe that until I began digging from early 2018. Let's start with fishing trawlers and other activities right on the ocean and water ways. I once stated something related to the below somewhere on Nairaland: The Akwa Ibom - Rivers axis has some of the highest concentration of sharks in West Africa. The Oron - Ibeno axis being the highest. Sharks are fished everyday in these areas. A single shark fin is worth thousands of dollars and there are fishing companies in these waters focusing solely on sharks. Please google the price of shark fins. That's just the fins and just sharks. Then go into other types of fishing. Take a step back to check ship trading routes and who controls them since the FG and states control this area too. I could go on and on. Since these incomes are largely undeclared, the masses think these areas have little importance. These do not reflect in state governments IGRs. I look out for such small details. Yes, I had to be at some of these places to see things for myself. |
iamoyindamola:I mean the exact IGRs from such water channels. Not just transportation. Fishing and other subsectors. I'd like anyone to point me in the direction of a IGR breakdown from the blue sector in Lagos State, or any of the states I mentioned. I searched and analysed for a few years before making my claims. Thanks to states largely not acceding o the Freedom of Information Act in 2010, they don't have to publicize such information and would rebuff your inquest - the perfect cover for the financial Houdinis. |
Here's another one: Who really controls Nigeria's waters? Particularly, the areas bordering the Ocean like Lagos, parts of Ogun, and the South South states? Officially there's a tussle between the state and federal governments for control with multiple court cases, but state governments have vested interests and get revenue from such. State governments have fishing trawlers, task ocean operators, and have vested interests in related areas which do not exactly reflect in IGR. Since state governments largely do not subscribe to the FOI, there's never really a breakdown of IGR from the blue sector. And you and I know that's a lot of money. Question is, people from Lagos, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Delta, Edo, Bayelsa, and Cross River, what are your state governors doing with these largely undeclared incomes? How do we really know what the state governments make from these areas? If you doubt me, try to diligently get inside information about how these fishing trawlers are purchased, and who taxes these operators. Then analyse your state government's annual financial reports. The blue economy is worth trillions world over and worth billions in Nigeria, so who benefits? Your state governors are extremely corrupt! Hold them just as responsible for the gross underdevelopment in Nigeria. |
OasisX:Do point me in the direction of the official source for this. I just skimmed through the State Government Facebook pages of Akwa Ibom, Rivers, and Cross River, and there's no report of this. I'm sure other SGs are downplaying it too. |
WhoDeyHause:Good. Let's expose and trend their names like we do to Buhari and Tinubu and GEJ for corruption, proven or alleged. Asides allocations to states and LGA, your clan (a subset of your LGA) certainly receives funds specifically for oil-producing communities. Curiously, these never reflect in IGRs and Niger-Delta states' expenditure. But the masses don't know as they give state governments an easy pass. Another thing: Be rest assured that Buhari and Tinubu consulted with the state governors before borrowing. But we blame the presidents alone for foreign loans. Do you know how powerful the Governors' Forum is? Plus this must be stated: No Niger-Delta (South-South particularly) state has any business borrowing. None. The FAAC and ECA are enough to thrive on; coupled with IGR and attracted FDI. That they borrow is proof enough of all of them being thieves. But how many of us have ever mentioned our state governors borrowing, or even know how much they borrow at each point? Government is first of all local. |
BlueRayDick:This in itself is actually a compliment to the federal government. Asides Buhari's early days of trying to prove a macho point, he didn't mortally haunt his critics. GEJ was same. Tinubu is doing same too - not evidentially hunting his critics, yet. Since state governments are vindictive bullies when we get in their crosshairs, let's focus all of that angst on the federal government alone. Erm, how many state governments are paying salaries consistently and the minimum wage too? There's insecurity? What's the point of security votes to state and LG governments? (Yes, LG governments get security votes (asides FAAC allocations) from the federal purse too which state governors pocket too.) Tinubu is captaining this sinking ship but be rest assured his crew members are the governors. And they should get the stick too here and on social media when we criticize government. |
BlueRayDick:If we can't and won't hold state governments accountable, there's no justification to hold the FG accountable. They all share from one national purse. Well, almost all. The corruption going on at state level is humongous. Which single individual at the national level would have survived the #492 billion fraud scandal by Wike and Fubura? Or the controversial #150 billion loan by Udom Emmanuel (who when exposed went behind to get a lesser loan), or Ifeanyi Okowa getting a controversial #100 billion loan? All three to fund failed presidential ambitions. They are thieves we must hold responsible. I'm focusing on Niger-Delta states deliberately to drive home the point. |
Say all you want about Buhari (and he's a nepotistic asshole too), but he never failed to pay state and local governments allocations. Every freaking month. He also paid back state governments backlogs of monies they expended on federal government infrastructure like roads and buildings. What did state governments do with it? Do you judiciously follow your state government's expenditure? Do you do a year-on-year budget review? What about supposed government facilities? Are they truly owned by the government? We had to an exposé to stop my state government from parading a certain brewery as government-owned when we had inside information that government had sold 90% stake, just to block wasted allocations? Despite the heated politics of this last election, has any of your state governors complained about the FG not releasing allocations? Your state governments are thieves! In varying degrees; from conscientious pickpockets to bold-faced pen-robbers. |
Ojuntana:True. Religion is an aggregation of illusions anyway. Let your pastor sell hope to you as showing you the right steps to help you. You'd receive miracle husband or wife - even if you're shitty in character and have poor people skills. You'd receive miracle money even when you have no commercializable skill as an exchange for these monies or services. Your spirituality is a personal journey and experience. |
WhoDeyHause:State governors are the real thieves. Another reason I spend as much time as I do criticising the central government criticising even my own state government. Since 2018, I've subscribed to monthly and bi-monthly report of my state government allocations and expenditure, and local government allocations by BudgIT. Local governments earn a lot especially in the Niger-Delta, plus extra quarterly payments to oil-producing communities; all controlled by the state governors. If you know how much your immediate past governor and mine spent on overhead cost (cost of running government), you'd just look amusingly at the antics by Tinubu's COP28 critics (who's also as guilty). Not forgetting ~#23 billion annual security votes each to Akwa Ibom, Rivers, and Delta States, all unaccounted for. Hold Governors accountable too. |
joseph1832:LOL. Man, few things scare me like relationship/sex scandals; especially in this TikTok, camera-ready, screenshot era. Even when I'm close, I'm extremely picky and second-guess before interacting with them via phone conversations. Looking at how it'd seem if posted in publicly. This category of women are easily scorned. One call you don't pick from them and they'd run with assumptions. Maybe it's why I haven't laid as many as people assume I have laid - for some I just flirt then bail quickly. And such places are the last places to really get cozy since the women there are mostly pretentious when you and I know they are freaks. ---- You've not even mentioned the ones who'd message directly from Facebook pages and groups when you make comments which get them curious to check your profile, and make direct advances. Still, I'm picky. I vet and vet before getting cozy. If she's the out and out extrovert who posts everything on her timeline, it's a dealbreaker for me. If she's lowkey, then I might proceed to stage two. And that, my friend, is how you avoid social media sex and relationship scandals - be the lowkey inbox king who goes for the lowkey priority ladies . |
joseph1832:The LAN has no political leaning. APC, PDP, LP... Once you get their backing combined with your brilliant idea or startup, your chances of success increases by multiple folds. Even since the time of GEJ. I hope every state in Nigeria can successfully emulate it. |
RepoMan007:More than you, I am more convinced. I'm a Deist - I believe in the existence of a Supreme being but reject the dictates of organised religions and the theological bottlenecks and go-betweens who make themselves intermediaries between this Supreme being and mortals, humans. Your pastor or imam's opinions have little place in my spirituality with this Supreme being. |
joseph1832:LOL. Man, I've begun reattending church on alternate Sundays at the insistence of someone close for the social value; Primarily to network with some techies. The church is as modern as you can think and filled with single women in their late 30's and above. Always about getting married as prayer points and points for reference. I stayed away for two months and back again, yet it's still the same. Sometimes I skip for two weeks. Pretty well-to-do ladies. All talking marriage. You can't even get very cordial with a few without it popping up. Playboys I know are having a field day with these women. I can understand their desperation but they are fanatically religious. And I'm very weary of overly-religious people. |
Bitmama acquires PayDay https://www.nairaland.com/7931434/bitmama-acquires-payday Despite the scandal PayDay got involved in and the controversies surrounding its CEO even after raising $3 million months ago, it still got acquired. The Lagos Angel Investment Network still remains king as I have always insisted. If they back you or you're from within their circle or they have interests in you, regardless of what shît your startup gets into, they'd bail you out and you'd walk out happy. See how they have turned the Patricia situation around with a comfortable scapegoat of "hackers" in just a few months? They've got the PR machine and connects to smooth everything over. The right connection is everything. |

and trust me, I can be a real douche when I want to be. Wouldn't mind telling that someone "I hit it first".
