nihilistjnr:It's your right to have an altered reality or perception of the world and that's fine; But what's not fine is projecting that alternate reality on others who see the world as it is. If anything, Obi is the only one of the candidates who has kicked against tribal and religious reasons to support him and he's said this openly. Everyone confirmed that and that's why even the Tinubu camp which is noted for spewing inanities including Festus Keyamo, didn't dwell on it because Obi never said so. He has a thousand videos on YouTube and in church telling them not to support him because of religion or tribe. |
Kwankwaso tweeted about an hour ago. After all the braggadocio, he's subtly admitted he made a mistake not taking up Peter Obi's offer. He thought it was just media hype. Now it's dawning in him.
|
nihilistjnr:Stop posting lies a thousand times and over in hopes that it'd stick. This was debunked and addressed by not just me but at least 10 other active posters on this thread. Obi never said it's an Igbo man's turn. Several news reports and screenshots were posted to counter your attempts at doing so. Resurrecting what has been debunked and addressed factually to push a certain narrative of yours is exactly what it is - YOUR narrative. DissTroy: |
Just 2 years after Tinubu became Governor, he was already facing charges for trying to defraud the federal government of $800 million. He admitted he brought Enron. https://allafrica.com/stories/200003200168.html AllAfricaStories reported it in 2000. In the coming years up to 2006/2007, El Rufai dug into him and got concrete evidence of fraud. Immunity covered BAT. In 2007, even though Atiku was running as a presidential candidate on the AC ticket, Tinubu sold out to the PDP. A compromise in return for not being tried after his immunity as governor expired? In fact, despite being ACN, Tinubu was one of the most vocal supporters of the PDP ticket in 2010 and in 2011, selling out his own candidate. Compromise? 2 years later in 2013, El Rufai published his memoir as Minister exposing the fraud that is Tinubu. --- For those who doubted the Enron fraud allegations, Tinubu just confirmed it. And all you have to google is "Tinubu Enron" and you'd find countless reports of the fraud even in 2001, 2002 and 2003 when most media houses hadn't gone online in Nigeria. Thank the Heavens for AllAfricaStories which documented these things online. Support Tinubu if you will but know he's a thief. There's no comparison to Obi. |
Segedinho:It's important to note that the electricity company Tinubu bragged about bringing to do feasibility studies as governor was the same one he and his team partnered with to defraud the federal government and bankrupt NEPA. Same one El Rufai mentioned here: https://www.nairaland.com/7186774/epl-chatroom-all-discussions/1189#119898563 . |
FBS:Simple answer: Because ordinary citizens bear the brunt of misgovernance the most so when a section of the citizenry who are also victims of the entrenched system of unaccountability act aloof during electioneering processes and want to force an obviously physically, mentally, and antecedently unfit candidate who, like the others, can potentially decide our national fate, we'd call them names, point out their cognitive dissonance, and shame them. No apologies! ![]() |
Theflint1:Of course. Many and most aren't the same. The dislike for Tinubu seemingly outweighs that. That's why Ifeanyi Okowa was picked. His name and his geolocation. It would have been easy for Atiku to pull sentimental strings. And he made promises to both regions to succeed him. The calculation would have been, since Tinubu is the top 3 most influential in the South (SW), by 2027, he'd be too old to run thereby paving the way for others. Peter Obi 'ruined' it for Atiku. Now taking up his default votes in the South and Middle Belt. |

izzou:The SS or SE were never going to vote Tinubu even if Obi hadn't contested. It being PDP-dominated, Ifeanyi Okowa would have been heavily sold as an Igbo man. And the SE and SS would see him as a bridge between them. Plus the SE and SS APC faithfuls rooted for Osinbajo openly. Neutrals too. Tinubu was never an option from the start. Unveiling information about his health, mental issues and muslim-muslim ticket after the primaries validated that stance. |
BlueRayDick:Please don't ever refer to Inibehe Effiong as an upcoming activist. Dude might just be 34 years old but he's fought state governments and government ministries to a standstill several times and won. Won high-profile cases and he's been Sowore's party, AAC, head of legal since 2019. Larride, do message Inibehe Effiong on Facebook and detail your travails to him. If he doesn't respond quickly (he tries his best to respond but he's very popular and gets lots of those), message his partner at his chambers, Augustine Asuquo who's more reserved. Inibehe is a protégé of Chief Falana and works with him on very high-profile cases. I used to have his number but I suppose I misplaced it and it'd have been easier that way. Sorry about your travails. |
seankafor:His age, frailing health, and cognitive impairment are enough reasons why he shouldn't be president; the last two reasons especially. Good intentions as Buhari might have had, we saw and experienced what a frail old absentee president dealt to Nigeria's fortunes. Add obvious cognitive-impairment and you have a worst Nigerian fate waiting to happen. 20 years ago? Maybe. Now? Tinubu shouldn't be president. |
Segedinho:Yes. "In Otem's mighty name we pray. (Atum.)" Wherever two or more are gathered physically or digitally in Otem's name, Otem is there. |
A001:May Otem heal you of your mental illness. This we pray in Otem's mighty name. (Atum) |
You all trolled Otem's only begotten son in who Otem is well-pleased all day and you think there won't be consequences? Notice how the mentions glitched immediately he went offline? Enjoy the wrath of Otem. |
VoteTinubu2023:Only occult-driven fanaticism would make you think and declare you find nothing wrong with Tinubu's gazillion gaffes every time he speaks like you've stated today and before. Only servile indoctrination would make you campaign for a man whose history and genealogy you don't know and can't vouch for but want to vouch for him handling our commonwealth effectively. - Only Olumba-Obu-level brainwashing would make you think a sickly old man who can't stay 3 weeks without being flown abroad for treatment should be president and the rigours attached. Even in organisations, the lowest level, less important staff has go on leave or exit the role if they are obviously mentally and physically unhealthy, but you want the fate of 200 million Nigerians and West Africa in the hands of a man with an even worse medical and mental state. You are the cultist propping up the evil. You are the reason Nigeria is stagnant and.or retrogressing. |
VoteTinubu2023:The irony of this is, you're the most fanatical of the oppressors' lovers on this thread, so much so you eroded your rightful digital identity and replaced it with one servile to Tinubu who: - Feels entitled to be president even though he's old and unhealthy because he feels he's a co-owner of Nigeria PLC; - Is not the best manager of financial resources of the top 3 candidates (Lagos' humongous debt profile and the rot in it even as Governor exemplify this) and; - Exploits a system which can allow a candidate with an established drug-trafficking link run to shit on whatever laws they are. You typify everything you accuse all Nigerian voters of. |
Amoto94:That was in the past. Shekarau has become an appendage. In fact, until a few months ago, Shekarau was a member of NNPP, run by Kwankwaso. Whether as an oversight or political tolerance, Ganduje allowed the RedCap movement grow beyond a group into a cult. These people pay monthly contributions/dues as a group; Stipends they use in funding their activities. Now they've spread into other states. As it stands, no politician in the whole North has Kwankwaso's cult status and following, save for Buhari (whose tenure is demystifying that status). |
izzou:Putin's response would be swifter than that. Xi might stall because of China's socioeconomic foray into Africa. Have you wondered why in the last 18 months, any s time Foreign consulate staff visit Tinubu, we only see one or two pictures but never video or audio clips? And it's first reported by The Nations Newspaper, a BAT propaganda outlet, while other media outfit have to just report or draft from the released piece? |
liveLongNprospa:Exactly why Kwankwaso being Obi's VP would have been a disaster. And yes, he can wreck Ganduje's progression in politics. His RedCap movement can make or mar any Kano politician. |
A001:Every single time Tinubu gets in front of a microphone, he shoots his own foot. Every single time. Imagine an incoherent President Tinubu at a U.N. meeting addressing the war in Ukraine then goofing into challenging crazy Putin or Xi Ping. |
Manuel69:Oh please! Spare me the sentimental string-pulling! This is the one thread people could be with you and turn on you the next minute if you step out of line. Just a few can be accused of herd mentality. He's passed the message. Him pointing out Raum's history of hateful tribalism got me to dig into Raum. It got others to dig too. The messages has been passed. Even in football, a player who dribbles without moving on when he should is called a showboater. |
Tataffo:One could have a genuine supposedly noble reason for a cause but how you go about executing it could kill the cause itself. It's the same dilemma Wike has found himself while in with his campaign against Atiku while insisting on Southern presidency. His earlier cry of "Southern presidency" to PDP faithfuls is beginning to fall on deaf ears because he cried too loud, too loud, and too much. And didn't know when to draw the line. Connect the dots here. ![]() |
chrisooblog:As long as INEC continues to play its part and the BVAS works like it should, there's no if or bargaining - we are weeks away from a President Obi. It'd be refreshing to see a healthy coherent Nigerian president again. It's been so long I've almost forgotten. Almost 8 years long. |
izzou:Now you see why I didn't attack him when he 'barged' in two days ago? He's a very open-minded and forward-thinking guy. I've known him to be so over the years. He just felt the need to defend Joe who's our mutual friend but mistook the context. |
Donjazet2:As long as it doesn't dominate and choke off a discourse, it's fine. You've established the fact that he is. My post history on this thread would show me calling out same people for tribalism. But if you're serving a meal, it shouldn't be the main course. If you noticed, the tribalism call is no longer as effective as it was when it was occasional calling out. Raum is one person. Amoto is one person. Until the slide into their ways or instigate it, the calls should be shelved. What's the message for the others who far outnumber them? I was enjoying the debates since last night about the ethnic make-up and intra-politics of the North, and Tinubu characteristically renting crowds in Enugu, including the ripping-off saga by the APC state chairman until tribalism came up even though neither of the two usual suspects on this thread went that way or mentioned Obi since last night. If I see it from that perspective, others have too. Shelve it until it's imperative that you point it out. |
Theflint1:It's a good thing in the long-run he didn't become VP candidate. Kwankwaso is too much of a fundamentalist to be an obedient VP. And he has a cult following which means he can't be kept in check. Whenever the President Obi doesn't let him have his way, one would expect to see Red Caps protesting all over the North that Obi has failed. I don't think Datti-Ahmed is moderate too. But he's not as fundamentalist as Kwankwaso and Shettima. His comments about gáy people being kîlled seems like a one-off. He's barely made any other fundamentalist quip. |
Donjazet2, maybe. But you tried to make it look like Yorubas in general are tribalistic. Of the top 3 most populated tribes, Yorubas are the least tribalistic. And for all it is worth, Tinubu's occasional tribal card regardless, he appointed many non-Yoruba ethnicities into his cabinet. It's time to let the constant hammering on tribalism go. Point it out on this thread when there's an obvious culprit - this goes both ways - but constantly hammering on it makes people defensive. When our tribe is constantly under attack, it's human to go on the defensive. Tinubu is sick. He's too frail for the rigours of the presidency. He has a dubious genealogy. His educational history is ambiguous. He has drug- peddling allegations. These are sticking non-tribal stones to pelt him with. It's enough! |
Theflint1:I explained why Kwankwaso would be angry back in May before there was any primary in any party, and why he felt entitled to be the presidential candidate of any their force alternative to APC and PDP. It's just his ego. He'd regret it for life. But Kwankwaso would have been another Atiku-like VP in Obi's wheel as president. He's more powerful and influential than it's even captured in the media. Only of the candidates (VP or presidential) who has the Northern fundamentalists' votes on lock even before the primaries. DissTroy: |
Donjazet2:It's only relative. Maybe just a Yoruba - Igbo fluke rivalry playing to the gallery war. But analysing it independently as an Ibibio man, I'm more likely to experience tribalism from ethnics in Imo than I am in Osun. Even in school politics, I'm more likely to have a smoother entry into the SUG of a university in Abeokuta, Ogun State than any in Akwa, Anambra. Does Tinubu play the tribal card to his advantage a few times? Yes. I campaign against him so I'd hype it up. But are the Yorubas tribalistic? No. Not necessarily. Or at least not like many tribes in the South. I was born and raised in Yorubaland for a part of my life into teenagehood. I CAN NOT exactly pinpoint me being discriminated against by Yorubas because of my tribe. Neither my parents who lived there before I was born or my siblings. I'm against Tinubu but what has to be stated has to be stated. ![]() |
Theflint1:Southern presidential candidates. Peter Obi's VP, Datti-Ahmed, is a core Fulani. Tinubu's VP, Shettima, is a Kanuri. --- Obi muled over Kwankwaso as his VP. Kwankwaso is a core Fulani. Miyeti Allah disowned Atiku as Fulani in 2019. He's Chamba but speaks Fulfude. He's widely but erroneously believed to be Fulani which favours him. https://punchng.com/that-atiku-speaks-fulfulde-doesnt-make-him-a-fulani-man-miyetti-allah/ No Hausa representation still. |
"They wanna choke him off this forum." If this were Facebook or Twitter, justifying murdering an innocent girl just May last year and doubling down on it even in December would get you permanently banned. Adeyinka Soyemi aka Adeyinka Grandson was jailed for almost 5 years last year in the U.K. for inciting ethnic/tribal violence and spreading hate on Twitter. He was charged under the U.K. cybercrimes law. https://dailypost.ng/2022/04/02/nigerian-man-jailed-in-uk-for-inciting-violence-against-igbos/ Choking him allegedly off this forum is a mild fate compared to what obtains in organised societies. Nigeria has a 2015 Cybercrime Act even though it's not fully implemented by law and order agencies. If Nigeria functioned like it should, Amoto would be in jail. You can only fóol the uninformed. ![]() |
Amoto94:This was Amoto94 in July last year on this very same thread attacking anyone who insinuates Christians are victims of Boko Haram and Fulani Herdsmen. Today he's subtly calling for reprisal attacks and pointing out Arewa are the victims of killings in Anambra. Even though most of the casualties are Igbos and Southerners. Amoto94: |
