Teymanhenry: Liverpool's game plan is always to press high, win the ball and play directly to the forwards. The flaw is they don't have a play maker, so the chunk of their creativity is from their high flying wing backs. That's why d wingbacks always get more assists in the team than their midfielders. close down their wings and they'd be short for ideas You'll also have to complement the clamp down on the wings with a bus parking strategy else their counter game could hurt you. |

At least, Buhari is seeking their approval. What I don't understand now is why many PDP members and sympathisers who saw nothing wrong then are wailing now. I'm a bit confused I don't know how you came under the impression that I am a PDP sympathizer or wailer. Stop derailing the argument by making assumptions about me that tries to change the argument from an intellectual one to an emotional one. maasoap: Leave the asking part. Yahaya is getting back the money he paid for doing the FG's projects in his state. The money will be transferred to him legally with the approval of the NA through the CBN legitimately. If you didn't have any problem with Jonathan sending 4 billion naira (in cash) each to both Fayose and Omisore illegally and in the dead of the night, you shouldn't have problem with this that you can't even challenge in the court. Simple If Jonathan sent 4 billion naira to those people, then it is criminal and not acceptable to me, and I am not justifying it. I don't like it when people tend to derail an argument because they don't want to be honest to themselves. You agreed that the money was for the elections, and on the basis of that I argued that if it were so, then you should know this is more brazen than the other. It were better you denied any possibility of the money being used for the elections than to do and not agree it is more brazen than what Jonathan purportedly did. |

I commend the president and the vice President for this. In Nigeria there is no end in sight for hardship. freeze001: Na dia way! All they know how to do is ban! Think kwanu, iro o! Hameed is talking seaports? How many we get? What seaport? We have just one that is completely choked and inefficient. Will edible food not get rotten before they get cleared into or out of the country? Nigeria just hates to run with efficiency because the idiots at the helm of affairs will be required to think and actually use their heads so they rather create more difficulties with the archaic methods, enriching themselves further while making bogus declarations of income into state coffers! They claim reduction in smuggling of petroleum products for instance so if they don't close borders, relevant security agencies cannot do their work? What then are they getting trained and paid for?
They should simply set up more automated systems at land borders, embed strict accountability procedures, open up other seaports and provide durable infrastructure especially electricity and good transport systems to reduce the unnecessary and frustrating delays/bottlenecks! I don't know when we will have proactive, intelligent leaders in this country that are ready to think and do the work!
See them budgeting multiple billions for generators and fueling to provide electricity yet we import refined petrol, diesel and generators! Why not ban the importation of those items (generators and refined petroleum products) to boost our local production and improve electricity supply? Mad goats in power! To the bolded, we had one in Yaradua but death took him, I'm beginning to think Nigeria is under some kind of curse. |

sentra05: What you are saying is a mere assumption. There is no evidence that points to the fact that the border closure will make Nigerians go into large scale farming. The cost of doing business in Nigeria is high and this is the main issue. We are now in globalization era and this means whatever that is produced in Nigeria should compete in price and quality with imported ones if we are serious. If we produce rice that competes in quality and price with imported ones, importation will die a natural death and our focus should be on strengthen our capacity to produce competitive rice. This by force approach will just punish the citizens for nothing and will not achieve any sustainable improvement. Mark my words, they will open the border again at some point after wasting our time Exactly what I say. How could a rice imported from Asia to Benin and "smuggled" into Nigeria still be cheaper than rice produced in Nigeria? That's the question the government should be asking, for only therein lies the solution. That is, if they are not too lazy to implement what they would learn from the answer. |
Politics › Re: 'Border Closure Exposes Nigeria's Deficiency In Local Rice Production' by dochenaj: 2:10pm On Oct 14, 2019 |
ubandawaki: Hoarding need to be seriously dealt with also and there should be price control of commodities by the government. Government has no right to tell you how much you should sell your product in a free market. If not that our government is lazy and only good at privatization. The government should have gotten into rice production either by planting the rice or buying the unprocessed rice from farmers and processing it. Thus the government rice will be competition to the greedy sellers and hoarders. |
Travel › Re: Trucks Stuck At The End Of Seme Border (Photos) by dochenaj: 9:30am On Oct 14, 2019 |
If the supply of Nigerian made rice is as much as we claim, then with the cheaper labour, no import duties the locally produced rice should be cheaper than the imported rice.
But that is no so, because the supply is much lower than the demand. Why should I be surprised, rice is the most staple food of over 200 million Nigerians.
If the government is really interested in stopping importation of rice, they should invest directly in rice production and thus increase the local rice production while selling at a regulated price.
The goal should be to make rice importation unprofitable. |

This an old scam model. Usually they used oil company equipment as the object of scam but I can see they have diversified.
One interesting thing I've discovered is, one of the people involved in the scam and usually the supplier always has a religious title (Pastor, Evangelist, Deacon, etc.). The moment man no longer has the fear for God, he is a goner.
"Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions." (Ecclesiastes 7:29)
The op was lucky, God decided to show her mercy else she would have been caught in it, considering how smoothly it sounded.
I reiterate that no honest person can fall victim to this kind of scam. The moment backyard deals came into the picture, the person would have known this is not a deal for me. |
Politics › Re: Senate To Reduce Political Parties From 91 To 5 by dochenaj: 5:39am On Oct 10, 2019 |
We could have independent contestants as opposed to that number of parties.
There should be a required number of unique registered members before a party can be allowed to contest in any election.
We could also place rules to curtail cross carpeting from one party to the other. No one should be allowed to contest under a party if they have not been a registered member of said party for a specified amount of time (for instance 2 years). All these folks that lose primaries in one party and the next thing, they are flag bearers of another party would not happen.
Then we should try to make the voting process electronic, it would save cost in the long run and to a great extent make the voting process more transparent. |
