Debbime: as educated as you are, who e help? the reality of every Nigerian is that there has been years of siphoning of the country's wealth by different people, how many came back to invest? I stand on my 2 feet to declare that its only Atiku that has done that and more. Where was your GINI when the country was being looted dry? Educate yourself about the reality you live in before spewing thrash.
@ the bolded, as educated as you are......lol Simpleton, you don't need to spew the obvious narrative about corruption. No one's denying the obvious you stated up there, my issue as with many others, is with the blockage of every progressive bills by the northerners. China used to be very corrupt before the famous zian Wang bill in 1975, so I fail to see your point. So because he is investing the money he should be let off? What a disturbing insight into your psych. This wasn't a human mistake but an auto corrected typo by my phone. At least be a little bit more intelligent when trying to come at me. |

obailala: I have no regrets booting the old order out because the present economic conditions would have been worse if Gej had continued (I can swear on that). The nation's forex reserves were dropping at the speed of light (losing $10bn in his last 6 months in office), the FG was unable to pay salaries and had to borrow to pay just salaries, fuel subsidies were owed to marketers in his last 8 months leading to the worst fuel scarcity in Nigerian history in May 2015 and all this happened when the oil crash just started with oil still selling above $60. May I also add the story of the Naira crashing from N160-N220 within this short period also. Obviously, too many people weren't observant enough to notice these things, whenever you think of GEJ, your mind flies to 2013/2014 when oil sold for over $110.
Believe what you may want to believe but Nigeria's present economic woes are simply caused by the low oil prices and the stubborn tight-fisted disposition of PMB is part of the reason why the nations still stands today (it would definitely have been much worse). You dont want to imagine what could happen to a nation if it runs out of forex reserves.
The above explanation would definitely not be understood by a simpleton cos all they know is that "when GEJ was there, things were okay, but now, things are hard;" they obviously do not have the intellectual capacity to factor in the oil prices saga in their comparison. I believe we are all educated folks on this forum and we should be able to make informed comparisons (not like the simpletons). For anyone with the ability for critical thought, the economy in the last 6 months of GEJ is the only reasonable period to be used for comparison.
From my own judgement, a bad time like this is definitely not a time to be led by a GEJ who couldn't assert authority or take charge of the nation's resources; we could have been begging for food by now. So yeah, take it or leave it and this is my opinion, Buhari and his gang may not be living up to expectation, but I have absolutely no regrets booting out GEJ especially at these bad times.
cc: BushidoBlue, iamcourage, I absolutely agree with your narrative about Jonathan. However, the fact Nigerians were only left with the option of either Jonathan or Buhari is the major concern going forward. |

Kenai: Wah wah waaaah!
"South East lost by not supporting Buhari"
"South East put their eggs in one basket"
"South East miscalculated by not supporting Buhari"
"South East is blinded by tribalism"
"South East was politically naive and lacked sophistication for not supporting change"
"South East will be on the wrong side of history for not supporting Buhari"
"South East miscalculated seriously by not supporting Buhari"
...
Well, with the events playing out, it sure looks to me like the South-East were the WISER ones for refusing to be deceived by the FAKE change and propaganda.
When history comes to judge you and you think of the role you played in electing a 73 year-old illiterate tribal supremacist and coup-plotting ex-dictator to rule your country of over 170 million people in the 21st century, would you be proud of yourself?
From "Buhari is a reformed democrat", the new narrative being pushed by his lapdogs today is "democracy is an obstacle to the war on corruption". "Let us withdraw the constitution to help Buhari fight corruption".
Your parents queued up for long hours in 1984 for milk, rice and beans; you'd have to be a gullible dimwit to think Buhari gives a damn about you queueing up for long hours in 2016 for fuel.
A people with no knowledge of their history will never be gifted with the skills of retrospective analysis, and are bound to keep repeating their mistakes. This is exactly why it was easy to pick up an expired ethnic bigot and despotic illiterate from the dustbin of history, and dust him up into a "reformed democrat" in the eyes of the gullible, ignorant populace. Wow. This is refreshing from the usual unintelligent ramblings on nl. Take a bow. |

Shymm3x: A lot of these folks are just stark illiterates with the IQ of monkeys. So because the vessels arrived at the facilities of private companies and were loaded into tankers, that automatically means private companies did the allocation, no?
By applying common sense, you'd know that private companies would prefer the much more densely populated SW, especially Lagos from a business sense...than anywhere up North. Business is always about profit and less spending. To even move the oil to the SW is much more cheaper than anywhere up North. Evidently, it shows that they were following directives from the government based on how lopsided the allocations are.
Common sense, m0rons. Voice of reason,. Nothing more to add. |
