JideVince: My sister, nothing yet oh! Hopefully by tomorrow. I suck at this waiting game.My friend JideVince and Jen1, just remain calm as it's very likely you get a reply before/by Thursday. And please, I advise you stop tracking. A few of us who got our packages last week didn't have our status changed i.e. nothing like "Application in transit." Mine changed from "Visa Application sent to BHC" to "Visa Collected" (I used UPS) in 2 minutes. And I got an SMS instantly. So my advise is to get your mind off it and be rest assured your phone will buzz good news soon. |
chieftekena: @Don Oms: I am so so saturated with these infos now!! Am so humbled. Thanks. I won't hessitate to check again if i need to be cleared. Safe!Ok. Anytime Chief! |
chieftekena: Thanks @ Don Oms for ur promtness. U r really so educating. They will not have any problems at POE once they explain that you needed to go and settle down first before they join you in the UK. As for the flight, though I like BA but it's slightly expensive relative to others. BA will get you to Glasgow in less time than Emirates since they fly UK directly but Emirates take you to Dubai first. As for in-flight entertainment, I guess they're almost the same. Klm is about at the middle of those two in terms of money. The idea is that if you're on a budget and don't mind travelling long and sightseeing, use Emirates. If otherwise, go with KLM or BA. |
chieftekena: Thanks for ur point of order on d d hypothesis. I must admit i hadn't observed the dismisal. My bad.Considering you'll be going with your dependants and you may want to save money as best as possible (not minding duration of flight), Emirates is your best bet in my opinion. Book on their main website. |
chieftekena: Hello house! I want to apprc8 and thank everyone who has been contributing positively to this thread, especially Justwise and co. I have bn going thru ur posts for more than a month now, and i must confess that these posts and comments have contributed immense to my success story. To God be the glory, i just recieved my Visa this evening thru UPS (togeda wit that of my dependants: wife nd Son). Our status changed on friday to "Processed application sent to UPS on...", and without any text msg frm VFS, up till now. I was initially jittery wen i saw the status msg. This is because sumwia on this thread, some pple tried to compare msgs that come with an approval nd a refusal of Visa applictns. B4 nw i was made to blive dat "processed passports..." has a high likelihood for approval and "processed application..." has a high likelihood for refusal. This is to discredit those notions, especially for intended applicants to avoid any high BP b4 u lay hands on ur passports. I am heading to the Uni of Glasgow. Any NLander there or heading there in the house please...?Cogratulations on your visa and those of your dependants. As for the "processed Passport/processed Application" issue,we already dismissed the hypothesis and consider it untrue. I bet there are a few N'landers who have posted here in the past or at www.nairaland.com/863688/nigerian-students-uk-how-survive |
awistle: Taxi for here na die, gats learn all this bus routes asap before this white ppl finish my moneyNa JJC fees you dey pay so...It's normal. By the way, how did you pay your fees? Or shall I say what's the best option to pay fees? I intend to use my Naira Mastercard online but I learned the maximum is an equivalent of 1M naira (£4000) and fees is above that (Maybe I'll pay in 3 days...lol) |
fiscalcliff: Could be but I share my good news with you allCongratulations Fiscalcliff! Ensure you have a safe trip & a nice time studying. We await JideVince & Jenny's testimonies. Remain Blessed! |

Though it became tiring at some point but I pulled through. I'm expecting your testimony next week. |

Jen1: I don track sotey I don cram my tracking number. It's all good, God cannot be asleep. Hope we all hear good news soon. The thread mostly dry these days.lol. It is well, Jen1. |
JideVince: Haha! Woah! Happy Birthday! Hope they don't wait till my birthday (25th Oct.) before they release mine or else.....Hello JideVince! I got my package today and to God's glory I was given the visa. Yours too will come soon in Jesus' name; Amen. |
azpunpin: @fiscalcliff and @JideVinceCongratulations bro! Happy Birthday to you. Have a safe trip. |
fiscalcliff: BHC is really phucking up big time but no be their faultThere might be delays due to verification. But I'm certain it can't take too long. You shall share your good news soon. |
chieftekena: Hi everyone! Please can someone clarify me on weda 1st October is to be considered a working day too for the BHC in the processing of our VISA. I want to be sure on the exact working day my VISA application has spent now? I applied on the 18th September. Thank you.Don't count October 1, as far as I know, it shouldn't be a working day. Be hopeful to get your visa before/by the end of next week. |
fiscalcliff: I wish you same tooWell spoken! It's just unfortunate they make it look like we're at their mercy. If not for the situation here that makes it hard to study for a simple MSc without unnecessary delays and troubles. Hopefully, we'll get to tell them how their work is to be done often. |
fiscalcliff: I will do that also come WednesdayYour package is definitely there. Only God knows why the tracking isn't working o. Just go there tomorrow as you say. I wish you good news. I paid for courrier & I'm hoping they deliver it to UPS and not leave it on their table @ VFS o. |
awistle: Finally got my visa dis evening, just went to BHC office at ikeja just to check if it was dere and there it was my passport lying dere and my tracking hasnt even changed at all frm visa fowarded to BHC. Next stop Manchester, Uni of Salford!Wow! That's strange o. Imagine! Anyway, congratulations to you bro! Have a safe trip & take care. |
holyboy.com:Congrats bro! I'm really happy for you. And in the words of JideVince, "At Last!" God's time is truly the best. Have a safe trip and take care. |
kayoflyf: So afta d long wait I received d message "processed visa applicatn ready fr collection....went der diz moornin and woow...ma visa wux grantedCongratulations! Have a safe trip. |
mubby08: Hey all, I have collected my visa. All thanks to God, and to all those in this forum who contributed positively, God bless you all. Next stop, Manchester!Congratulations! Have a safe trip & great time in Manchester. |
paradisewoods: Please house I got my visa response today and itI am very sorry to hear about your refusal. The Pound/Naira rate isn't always fair around this time of year. Please, I'd advise you let your school know about your refusal b'cos they'll be willing to help you in future. Send them a scanned copy of your refusal notice and explain you didn't expect the rate to be unfavourable. Ask about January admissions and I'm sure you'll be able to work something out. All the best! |
agboliver: Hello everybody I just get my Visa ....... I'm leaving on Saturday ...... Thank you Nairaland I have advices for you guys ...Congratulations to you our friend from Benin. I'm really happy for you (especially considering the International Cheque thing) 'cos I had prayed you'll get your visa. Have a safe trip & great time in the UK. |
Congratulations to Joel911 and edjee on receiving their visas. You guys have a safe trip and a great time studying. I have always been skeptical about the hypothesis of "Processed Application/Processed Passport" and tried to iterate that it's a mere observation and not a fact. If 10 people reports an idea out of thousands, you don't hold that idea true. So please, let's not scare people about that rebutted argument. You only know you have a visa when you open your package. Thanks. |
^^^^Very good. That's the process. |
thekid123: Alhamdulilah got my visa today! Thank you to all that contributed especially justwise, you really helped ease my worries at times.Congratulations! Shouldn't BA's website offer the cheapest flights? Have a safe trip when you travel. |
paradisewoods: Pls house can someone collect my visa application on my behalf ?I have read it somewhere before that if you write a signed letter instructing VFS to hand your package to a named person and you give the person your pick-up papers (the person has to go with a valid means of identification), then that person can collect it for you. But please, call VFS to confirm. I can't seem to remember where I read the info. (I'll try to look around). Please CONFIRM BEFORE YOU FOLLOW IT. |
agboliver: what is in that case the meaning of this answer < your passport is ready >There is no certainty the tracking status message has anything to do with refusals. We're only working on the intelligent observations of some posters. You applied in Ghana & I'm sure their "language" is different from Nigeria. So, just remain positive and be hopeful. |
paradisewoods: @don oms : pls processed application.. or processed passport..., what's the difference , pls JideVince: there is an observation by a member of this forum that "processed application" results in refusal while "processed passport" results in visa being granted. nobody can confirm the veracity of this, though. however, while reading through old posts on this thread, i discovered someone got the visa even when the message read "processed application", i guess that settles it.^^^^^You have your answer up there. I only asked that question so as to conduct a little test to verify the hypothesis. As a matter of fact, I think the language used on the online tracking varies and is independent of receiving a visa or not. Hopefully, we should be able to investigate it further. |
agboliver: yes first I received the mail stating that " Your passport is ready " from the high commission secondly I received a sms stating that it ready for collection and when I track It was written that it's ready. By the way thank you for prayer don oms. hope everything will be alright....All the best! |
