Autolord: @Justwise I'm so scared. My statement period shows from 2-August-2013(day I deposited money) till 2-september-2013(Interview date) However my closing balance was on the 28th August 2013, last day of transaction plus I had in excess of 500pounds. Will the ECO use statement period showing money has been there for 31days or closing balance showing 27days?They will count 28 days backwards from the day you printed the statement. What do you mean by "closing balance?" Do you mean the date of last transaction? |
holyboy.com:Bro, sorry I forgot to update you on the latest finding about the Abuja/Lagos application centre. My latest observation shows ONE (1) day difference btw Ikeja and Abuja for 2 people who applied on the 22nd Aug. Go to Ikeja and I pray you get the VISA. |
. |
marcdeco: @ Don Oms and othersTrust me, if you do the bolded message, it's automatic refusal. |
holyboy.com:You're good to go with your Bank Statement once it shows the day of deposits till the print date and reflecting 28 days or more; and the print date is not 30 days old as at the date of your appointment. As for your appointment on 9th Sept, you have enough time. Just indicate a mail/letter/CAS showing that the latest resumption for your course is 7th October. All the best. |
marcdeco: Hi allIf classes begin on the 30th of Sept, it means that date will most likely be the latest resumption date. If your money will be 28-days old by 30th, you can only apply that day or the next (earliest) and there will be 0 days allotted for visa processing. The implication: REFUSAL. Your Choices: Ask your school for latest resumption time and if it is not 30th and leaves at least 12 working days from 30th, then apply. If not, please ask for deferral till January next year (if your school allows January intake) or September next year. |
ochukoccna: Afternoon y'allActually, UKBA has your CAS already and all they need is the CAS Reference Number. So yes, a print out is perfect. I used a pdf print out & my school doesn't even send a hardcopy. |
Saucy Dolph: Halleluyah.....YeppieCongratulations sis! Have a great time studying in one of the world's top multilingual cities. |
symbolica: Hello House,Which type of visa do you want to apply for? Which document are you hoping to receive from someone in the UK? |
onerno@yahoo.co:I guess you may have to wait for Justwise or someone with more experience to give you a perfect answer. Did you have a visa stamped on the old passport? That may matter. I'm hoping they don't see it as "withholding important information." But like Kem000 said, mail them and tell them you didn't add it & request if it's necessary for you to send it. |
holyboy.com:Visas are usually processed within three (3) months to commencement of Resumption Date and your CAS must not be 6 months old by the time you apply. I guess the school is requesting for those documents because of your former refusal. Reply them promptly and tell them the reason of initial refusal. I'm seriously hoping and praying God works it out for you soonest. |
kem000: i just checked my status today, my visa is ready for collection. Please pray for me. I submitted on the 20th of August. That's pretty fast too. You shall have your visa! |
MissTeeq: Afternoon all! I've been an avid follower of of this topic, though I've been a silent follower. I applied and did my interview on the 15th of August and after 10 working days I got my visa. I just want to join others and testify of the great things that are happening here. I have never actually posted a question I just read other peoples similar questions and answers and followed the advise. Thanks to all the people who answered the questions so gracefully and for those who asked questions too, you have both been so helppful. God has truly been good and I give him all the glory and praise. In about 2 weeks I'll be headed off to the University of East Anglia, is there anyone else headed there? To all of you still waiting. Your testimony will be next. Thank you all and God bless you. That's very good. Congratulations! All the best in your studies. |
Deolu_1993: Hey people I want to find out for someone if it is possible for a university to act as their financial sponsor for the tier 4 general student visa application .thanksWhich University? A Nigerian University or the University one's to study in the UK? |
jennyfar: Hey guys, do I need to make copies of the forms and documents I'm submitting?Yes, it is compulsory to submit a photocopy of all your documents. The only exception is your Bank Statement (I actually submitted a photocopy since I didn't want story...lol). |
JideVince: 19th! Thank you so much, I appreciate.Okay. I think all you need do is get to the nearest branch of the bank you use to the VFS centre you picked and print your statement; then proceed to the VFS centre. About that deposit you had mentioned, note that transactions made on the 19th Sept won't reflect on your statement if you print on 19th so if you want a transaction to reflect, make it on the 18th. While filling the form for your statement request, indicate the duration to end on 19th Sept (GTBank will put the 19th there for you). All the best! |
holyboy.com:Actually, there isn't any difference in the location of your appointment and neither VFS nor UKBA specified any difference. But on the contrary, there are some observations: 1) The Abuja Applicants during this peak period report a higher percentage of early replies to their application (as far as NL is concerned). 2) Though not confirmed, "gossip" has it that all the applications are eventually sent from Lekki & Ikeja to Abuja for processing (NOTE: This is NOT confirmed true). Now, based on these two premises at it were, and the timing of your application, I advise you to go to Abuja if you can afford it. If you can't afford it 'cos I know it will cost you more, then do it @ Ikeja and hope for the best. I also remember someone (I'm not sure it's you) saying that he couldn't book Lagos as the online form was rejecting him from completing the booking; so maybe Abuja is actually one's best bet this rush hour period. |
JideVince: Yeah, I get you and that's exactly what I'm trying to avoid. I just wanted justwise's verdict too, that's all about it . So you reckon I can print the statement on the same 19th (provided it reflects as the date of closing balance/last transaction) and proceed to the UKVAC to keep my appointment on same day?Okay. It's alright. Did you get my mail yet? Yes, you can print on the 19th Sept & go for your appointment if it's convenient. On the Tier-4 Visa Policy guidance, it is stated that you can print on the 28th day so you're safe. Have you booked your appointment yet? If yes, when is your date? |
JideVince: Sorry if you felt angered by that. To be honest I just wanted justwise to comment on it, that was why I intentionally directed the question at him. Not that I don't appreciate every single contribution my Q has received on here but if youI'm actually not angry my bro! Just giving a piece of my mind. A guy once "argued" with Justwise's advice a few weeks ago and the outcome of his "stubborness" was his visa refusal (I'm sorry I'm mentioning this but we have to be frank sometimes). The guy eventually came back here asking for more advise on how to start all over. My point is this: Once you're given advice here, reason with it and do more research if necessary BUT never argue/contradict the advice thus confusing yourself. |
onerno@yahoo.co:Here is your answer below; it was given on the thread sometime ago:----------»» SAT1: #1. What's ur name?I'll just add one more which I was asked in addition to those above: 1) "Why did you choose your School? And they may ask in addition to #4 above that: "Why didn't you choose another course related to your chosen course which your school may be offering?" I hope that helps. Just speak good grammar & be composed...the interview isn't a difficult thing. All the best in your interview. |
JideVince: Ok, thanks. So I can print the statement on 19th, right?I didn't want to comment on any of your last few posts but I think I should. This same question you keep asking had been answered for you a couple of pages behind and you keep posting the same thing over and over again. If you put your money there on the 22nd Aug, DAY 1 of your counting is on the 23RD and you'll realise the 28TH DAY is 19th Sept. What part of that don't you understand? |
holyboy.com:Bro, don't leave for Abuja until you have your appointment booked else you'll be spending unnecessarily. Don't let your past visa refusal affect you. Contact your school tomorrow and hope the extension reflects in your CAS. If it doesn't and they reply you via mail, print the mail & attach it to your application documents. Once you get your CAS, go online & submit your VAF9 & book appointment for the earliest day; then go to Abuja a day before the appointment day. All the best! |
holyboy.com:I believe Abuja is more favourable, trust me. I'm only telling you this b'cos of the nature of your application (rush hour). If you don't mind the expense, select Abuja for your appointment. |
holyboy.com:Mail your school early Monday morning (2nd Sept) and request for an extension in your possible resumption date. Tell them to include this information in your new CAS which will show you have paid full tuition. You should get your CAS before Thursday (5th Sept) & you can make an application that same day or Friday & get an appointment for sometime between 9-13th Sept (Pick Abuja even if it is far from your house). If your school gives grace till 1st week in October, I believe you'll get your visa before that time & go for your studies. If for any reason this plan doesn't work (I'm confident it will work though), be patient and defer till January. All the best bro. |
Be+2012:All glory to God dear. Congratulations! I wish you a great time at Sunderland. |
moufpeas: Tnx ...patiently waitingmac@coretech has answered from experience. Just be relaxed. |

holyboy.com:The account statement(s) may have wihdrawals BUT at no time during the 28-day period should the available balance go below the equivalence of £7200. |
anyibaba50: The closing balance and opening balance where written without the dates beside them. That's perfect bro! |
coogar: congrats to all the contestants - timpacker deserves a medal although he wasn't my favourite in the whole process but he deserves the victory nonetheless. Thanks a lot about that beautiful comment on my poetry; I'm glad you saw that and it motivates me. And for the record, you're right about Princesa's closers. |
maclatunji: Oh! I did not change at all. I still graded the poems in much the same way I graded in Round 1. What changed was the grading format which I believe flatters the contestants too much.Really? It's surprising you didn't change. One would've thought you did. And yes, the organisation and grading was cool. No human is perfect, true, and in fact, I didn't take it personal in any way; I just found it a little weird I guess (did you see my post on page 27 of this thread?) |
anyibaba50: Hi guys, just joined nairaland, I want to ask a question about this bank statement stuff.I printed my bank statement from 25th July-22 august but there is no transaction showing for 25th,but there is a transaction on 26th July. I hope the ECO will not think I printed the statement on 26th of July. Pls. Someone should clear me on this. Was the Opening Balance clearly quoted on it with the date as 25th July? And did it show anywhere on the statement that the print date (or Closing Balance) is the 22nd August? If you answer YES to the two questions, then you're very safe & nothing to worry about. |

. Just got my visa after 11working days. Thank you all for your answers. University of Manchester here I come....
