holyboy.com:I feel for you bro. From what we have said so far & all the info on this thread, I believe you know what your options are. Just think clearly & consider what's best. If you have your parent's account statement, I believe you can still make September or at most a week after your resumption. And if not, you may consider deferment till January. Just consider your options and ask further questions and I'm sure the great people of this thread will be glad to help. |
holyboy.com:It's late except you get an extension from the school. It's a good option if you can pay your fees tomorrow & if you already have your parent's account statement which has had that 2.5m for 28 days. With this option, you can submit your application next week when your CAS arrives and you'll have 15 working days. I'd advice that you have your school give you at least one week (2 weeks will be cool) extension or grace period and tell them to reflect it on your CAS. If this plan works and you submit before next Friday, then you should be fine. Don't forget to get the letter of consent from your parents before they travel. |

MissCee: Hello, i applied for a student visa on the 6th of August and still havent heard anything. Contacted them and they said my application is undergoing verification at the visa unit. Please does anyone know how long this takes? The duration is dependent on many factors which includes the number of documents which needs verification & the number of overall applications in that period. Since only about 80% of applications make the 15-working day thing during peak periods, just be patient and be expectant. |
holyboy.com:I'm sorry about that. It's happened already so let's just learn & move forward. BHC doesn't receive company unless it's an internationally recognised company which is well grounded... Rules are rules and your parents must know that. Yes, you can use your parent's account (so long you present (1) valid & original birth certificate AND (2) A letter of consent from them indicating their permission & consent to make the funds therein available to you; and signed.) But please if possible, let them transfer the money into your account; it's less thing to get a refusal on. |
newtral: Got ma visa today after 10 working days thnks to justwise, Dami Zaccheaus nd every one.Congrats sis! Glory to God. I remember you posting about your application. All the best. |
lamie505: It not a must bro I understand what am saying and there is no way I can explain better.. Cos wen I was first told by PFL education I was confused untill I got to their office and they explained well.. So you can decide to do that or not but I gives me more confidence cos it just a little amount I added and its no crime... Thanks.. We may all get good news soonYou have a point Lamie505 but you're missing the question "why?" You see, some bank statements don't categorically show "opening balance with date" and "closing balance with date" so you need to make a transaction in such a case. But if your bank statements clearly shows the information, it won't be important to make any transaction on the 28th day except you so desire. Also, the BHC DOESN'T count 28 days from date of last transaction UNLESS the quoted conditions above are not satisfied (they use print date to count 28 days backwards). This is just so everyone gets this right. Thanks. |
maclatunji: My review of the poems for the CompetitionNow the famous Judge has been unveiled. If there were Round 3, I would have written a great piece on "THE REPENTANT JUDGE!" *smiles* Well done bro! |
JideVince: Oh sorry! I just assumed that we both know that I must have booked an appointment before I can appear at the UKVAC.All the best bro! |
princessmoi: is it necessary for one to get an attestation from his employer and attach it to his visa application? Please advice. ThanksJustwise has replied you. I want to believe the application is for a Tier-4 Student Visa...except the employer is a sponsor, there's no need for any attestation letter. |
JideVince: Okay! Sorry for the misunderstanding. What I meant was that I intend to fix my appointment to appear at the UKVAC for 19th September. Now you're talking! You never mentioned "appointment." You kept on saying "submit application" and they're two different things. Now, to answer you, the best you can do is to follow the advice I gave on page 159 (at 4:57pm of Aug18) of this same thread (here's the link: www.nairaland.com/826936/uk-student-visa-tier-4/159). If you don't understand the advise, then ask questions please. NOTE: This option is a way of getting an early appointment date without having to wait too long after your 28-day period especially if your resumption day is very close. |
princessmoi: Don Oms, can you please help with my question above? Thanks.Princessmoi, I do not really get the question & I may not be able to answer it anyway. Justwise will answer you once he's online. |
JideVince: Seems you are getting it twisted, though. I was referring to your "you can submit your application online on the 19th Sept." Statement . I mean, does it matter when you submit the form online? All the same, thank you.I get you now. You kept on noting you want to submit on the 19th in your previous posts, that was why I said that. |
Just an observation: Round 1 presented an extremely mean judge - don't mind my adjective, nothing personal - who held on so tightly to marks and I see from Cuddles that this Judge 1 in question is the benevolent Judge 5 of Round 2. Now, the Judge 1 of Round 2 (whom obviously by logic is a nice Judge in Round 1 or perhaps one of the two Judges who were busy & didn't grade the poets) has displayed some characteristics of meanness (or strictness, as it were). Now, no one should take this personal as I write this with less seriousness; Is there something peculiar with being Judge 1? I'd advice there shouldn't be a Judge 1 in subsequent seasons...let the judges just take numbers from "2." **Now I'm laughing seriously** And by the way, well done Poets: I guess we did our little version of Jusice to writing. A big Thank You to the designers: I'm excited to have heard the melodious sound of art/designs in their finest form. And for the Coordinator, Cuddlemii (I always have a problem calling that name in my mind), you did a great job; HBG, great job sis! Our able Judges, thank you very much. Now, I'm writing too much... |
JideVince: Thanks bro. No I haven't! I honestly don't think it matters when you submit your application online though. What matters is when you appear at the VAC, pay your visa fee and submit your forms(online print-out, app8) together with the supporting documents. That day is your application date. Am I wrong, house? @Justwise please chip in some words.I don't think you know exactly all you need to know. You have to submit your application online, print it out, book an appointment, (you'll see the link after you submit application) then go to the VAC on your appointment day with all the necessary documents. Your Application date according to VAC is the day you pay for your visa...having submitted your online application. Except I don't understand what your questions are, I'd advice you make a fresh post asking what you're confused about. |
JideVince: Thank you, the thing is I intend to submit my application on the 19th Sept.Of course you can submit your online application on the 19th of September and print your Bank Statements on the same day. Have you scheduled an interview yet? If not, then submit your application on the 19th and print your statement on the same day...you're safe. |

ochukoccna: Can anyone venture how much they were quoted to buy the British pound of recent? It's been on the high side for about 11 days or so. It's either you're patient (gambling it still is) or you buy the Aboki's 260. |
JideVince: And the day should be 18th Sept, right? From 22nd August. My brother, get this straight. Your print out can ONLY be a day starting from 19th Sept. Do NOT print on the 18th Sept. GTBank will include the same day you print out as the closing date on the statement (as long as you put that date in the request form). The option I gave you earlier is to cater for a situation where your interview may be on 20th Sept. If your interview is not on the 20th, make your transaction on the 19th and print on the 20th Sept. |
JideVince: Thanks honey86! Consider this scenario, please. I had N1.2m in the account but made it 2m on 22nd of Aug (enough for my maintenance fund). I start counting from the 22nd right? When is the 28th day that I would make the final transaction, please? The 28th day is the 19th of Sept. but if you're running behind schedule and need the statement that same day (19th), make your transaction on the 18th so it will reflect on the statement and print your statement on the 19th. Don't worry, GTBank will include 19th Sept in the statement and it'll be the day of your closing balance. |
boma@felix:Ok. As long as your school is not some low-rated school with low credibility & you have not used any agency of such status (Nigerian FG won't use such) then that "d" part is not anything to worry about. All the best. |
boma@felix:Did you read Justwise's comment about your issue? Follow it! |
Cuddlemii: Wow, I am a chronic fan of horror movies. But, I cant still believe most of the designs have horror/dark themes. I did not know we Nigerians were open minded, and daring. What happened to the scary nature we possess as Nigerians? I hope the topics did not spoil most of you?*peeped with philosophical goggles and reserves comment* |
lamie505: In my CAS what was written was that Liverpool Hope University as assessed the students english and it equivalent to Uk CER B2 or more... I wasn't told to write any test they assessed my english with my transcript and letter from the hod which I included in my visa application... I applied ikeja don't know how fast it is..You don't have anything to worry about. If your CAS states that your school used their own method to assess you & you're found to have at least tthe minimum level B2, then you don't need to fear. Just await your Visa which definitely will get to you before your "expected date of travel" should you not have any problem during verification. Relax, watch & pray. |
Oga Justwise: I submitted my application yesterday. Thanks a lot for your immense effort on this thread and your patience in tackling issues. More power to your elbow sir! |
lamie505: I need help cos am dying of hypertention since I applied for my tier 4 uk visa on 19th August...As far as I am concerned with all your 3 "fears," there is no cause for alarm. My statement of result was laminated too & my transcripts aren't (I applied yesterday). As long as your mum's account is a personal account and the money is sufficient, I don't think u need to worry. If your CAS states (3) above and you have submitted the letter, then you have followed the instructions. On top of all that, you have submitted already and your worries can't make them give you or refuse you visa. Perhaps peace of mind, positivism and prayers can make them give you. All the Best. |
abbakacici: am using gtbank too. So I will just wait and see by monday when I print my bank statement if they includ monday I will go ahead my appointment as plan if not I will reschedule till wed or thurday. Thank youOK. All the best. |
abbakacici: so interview date or the date you print out the bank statement. Is the date that UKBA will usedAs stated on the UKBA site, the date of your VISA application is the day your VISA fees are paid. But practically, if you haven't submitted your application & pay visa fees, what will they process? So, although the application date is the visa payment date, it is expected that you have submitted the online application & have all documents ready. |
abbakacici: I have simple problem. My deposit will reach 28 days on 26th august. My interview will be on 27th august in abuja. Am in kano so am planing to print out my bank statement on 26th august but the bank will give statement till 25th august thus that only 27 days. So should I re schdule my appointment or notMy money was in GTBank and the day I printed it was included in the statement (note: it took me 15 mins to get the statement). But if truly your bank won't do that, confirm how fast & what it takes to get the statement & see if you'll be able to get it very early on the 27th in Abuja before heading to the visa centre. If this won't be possible, you may have to reschedule. 27-day bank statement is a big risk. |
Saucy Dolph: My appointment was today and it went well. Now the waiting begins. @justwise what would make UKBA not to give one visa? @Pantex you wouldn't have submitted your application, like what Don was saying, u would have just saved it and then submit after 28days but what I don't know if its the day u submit online that is d actual submission or the day you go for your appointment and submit all your documents.I had my appointment @ Ikeja today too & so the waiting starts. UKBA won't give visa if 1) one withholds a vital information to the application, 2) doesn't have sufficient funds or d funds weren't held for 28 days; and 3) any CAS issue like incomplete documentation (this causes delay rather than refusal). Visa application date is the day one pays the visa fees. |
pantex: Pls i need help, i have a problm. My 28 days wil b up by 4th septmber. I have already applied for visa online weeks back n printed d application and have booked for interview for 4th sep even before the 28 days reachHmm Pantex! To be honest, they expect you to have ur 28-day thing complete before submitting applicaion. If you had raised this earlier, I would've given you a safer method where u don't submit the application & still book for 4th for interview. I wouldn't know the implication of what u've done but if I were you, I'd risk it & go for the interview as scheduled. Hopefully Justwise or another person might be able to tell you the implications. |
Solaceye: Pls am just back since barely three weeks, I once sought for designing work. Any hope to be involved again?Probably. Mail: nairalandpoets@yahoo.com |

To all contestants, well done, you are good risk takers
