But this is not encouraging at all. As you in to church later today, ensure you pray for our dear country. ![]() |
Oya PENGASSAN, you know what to do! This is fight to finish!! ![]() |
senbonzakura_kageyoshi:so what do you think state of emergency is all about? His position as govnor is immediatly made null and void. An administrator usually a military man will be appointed who will REPORT DIRECTLY TO THE C-in-C. There are precedents for this. The best fashola can then do is to challenge the emergency declaration at the court. I'm certainly no fan of Gej but i think we underestimate his powers at our peril. |
I was expecting to see names and not the same rehash we've been fed with time without number. Only a nitwit would dispute that boko haram has strong political backing, some even within the govt - GEJ himself said so. So what else is new? |
Red jeans is actually a GAAYS ONLY tag. Beware. |
The man is obviously lying thru his teeth. If indeed that is the total take home pay, how much is the basic pay? Not forgetting some of their allowances are as much as 200% basic! The guy most likely meant Basic salary, and not the ENTIRE take home pay. |
4 Play:No doubt both corruption and fuel subsidy would bring the country to its knees, and both have to go. Regrettably, the govt seems committed to the subsidy removal only, which is what Nigerians find unacceptable. Moreover, and this is where i believe most of our fears lie, if the corruption issue is not tackled, it could make nonsense of the funds that will be saved from the subsidy removal. |
All those expecting a reversion to the old price are obviously living in a fools paradise. If indeed the govt was going to revert to N65, do you they would invite labour in the first place? Think about it!!! That would give all the glory to labour and make them heroes! And it would make govt look weak § incapable. Trust me, thats the last thing govt wants. The best we can hope for is some sort of compromise, say N80 - N100. Though to be honest, i'm not very optimistic. |
All of una wey dey shout democracy are underestimating the immense powers of an executive president. I believe if the president has sufficient reason to believe a govenor may be a national security risk, the former can summon (yes, order) the gov to appear. If the govnor refuses to appear, the presdent may be forced to declare a state of emergency in the state, effectively forcing the govnr from office, removing his immunity § could have him arrested. Something similar happened durin Obj's tenure, abi? |
Like people have rightly pointed, he revert because there is no provision for subsidy in this year's budget. But he can make amendments, cant he? Afteral the budget has not been passed yet. Which brings up the issue: since this year's budget has not been passed, it means we are still using that of last year, FOR WHICH THERE WERE PROVISiONS FOR SUBSIDY. |
What again was point #12 in his little per talk? O Yes, yes, reduction in foreign trips except those absolutely necessary. So what exactly is he doing in SA? Wooing investors to come invest in the country? SMH I wonder how many aides he took along this time . |
Sad to say, but most of these transporters are devilish. They are even worse than the present govt that removed the subsidy. Like the MD of peace rightly noted, why should luxury buses increase their fairs since they all run on diesel? Some by as much as 400%? That is pure wickedness. |
@ poster, we spent 1.4t, but we were SUPPOSED to spend not more than N300b, based on what was budgeted, and, as you've rightly shown, based on our consumption. So where did the extra money go? The 1t naira question. |
Though the article didnt really reveal what we didn't know b4 (oil subsidy hoax - see David West's piece written some time ago) one cannot but commend the writing skills of d author. For those who deem the writer's use of 'mum' patronisin, you fail to see the psychology at work here. The aim was to conjure up the feeling of betrayal no less fiendish than an innocent child with mouth wide open expecting breast milk from his mum, only to feel acrid taste of urine. I actually was moved to tears at a point. |
This administration is clearly on course to bag the title of the most corrupt in Nigeria's history. |
So if understand FFK, the message he's trying to pass across is that, in summary, the total questionable expenses of GEJ's administration are: N1t subsidy N4.5t ($30b) debt incurred. N7.5t ($50b) depleted foreign reserve. N3.4t ($23b) depleted ECA. Which is abt N16.4 trillion. Imagine what that figure would have done if it was judiciously spent. |
Cant help but marvel @ the display of ignorance here. If the video is indeed true, how can anyone is his/her right senses regard protestin police as 'commendable'? Even more suprisin is to see comments asking the army to join the protest!! Do you know what mutiny is? Dont get me wrong, i'm as ripped of as you guys over the subsidy issue, but this protest by uniformed men is not the way to in about it. Its an invitation to real anarchy ie TOTAL breakdown of law and order. Pray we never experience it. |
