anyone who has any respect for themselves or LIFE should not marry anyone unless they truly believe that this person is IT. the only way to make things right (if a lady gets pregnant) is to provide her with all the proper care and help to make sure that she give birth and raise that child in the best environment for this child........ and living with a person that you resent, because you were forced to marry them, is NOT it.

CFCfan: A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Wednesday vacated the arrest warrant issued by the senate against the sacked chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina.

Delivering judgment on the suit filed by Mr Maina, Justice Adamu Bello held that the arrest warrant issued by the senate did not comply with section 88 of the 1999 constitution as amended.

The court further held that it was regrettable that the defendants failed to make available the National Assembly Journal or the official government gazette, containing the process leading to the issuance of the arrest warrant.

Justice Bello also held that “the lack of these documents means there is no evidence to show that the arrest warrant actually emanated through due process in accordance with the law”.

He added that the senate does not have unlimited powers as their powers are limited by section 82 of the 1999 constitution.

The court therefore issued an order of perpetual injunction restraining the senate and its committees, including the Nigerian Police from attempting to arrest or harass Mr Maina in relation to his failure to appear before it on the pending investigation into the rot in pension administration.

The “RRR” was cleverly hijacked by the Lagos/Ibadan propaganda machine because Western Nigeria benefited immensely from Gowon’s dictatorship. “RRR” existed only on the pages of Tribune, Sketch and Herald newspapers. There was nothing on ground for the devastated Easterners. It was Sam Mbakwe and Jim Nwobodo that started reconstructing roads in 1979 (nine years after “RRR” was declared by the Federal Government). It is now (40 years after the war) that Rotimi Amaechi and Godswill Akpabio are reconstructing and expanding pre-war roads in their states. Nigerians waiting for Gowon’s memoir may have to wait forever.

True but then how can he justify not writing it to not just his children and grand children but also our children and grand children. He is an icon just cos his endeavours and mis-endeavours is one of the things responsible for putting Nigeria into the decay it is now. If he dies without writing it, it will be a heavy loss to us all.
