Jokes Etc › Funny Things Normlly Seen When People Get DRUNK At Parties by drnoel(op):
Guys there was this crazy show we went to last time, were well over 500 people present. About 15 different shows happening simultaneously across the open space the party was conducted.

People passed out on the grass... on the porch.. at the bar... floor... in the hallway...

One poor guy that passed out on the grass, people removed his trousers and wore him tongs.

There were lot of crazy things that where done too. I just watched them all from the side. It was nasty.
Does anyone have any similar expierence. Any crazy events you've been to and what happened there. Please if u have pix of such feel free to post it.

berem: of course I have hated him right from the time my grandmum told me about the civil war.he keeps on saying one nigeria when he knows quite well that its a fool that believes that we are actually one! He will surely suffer for the wickedness he caused to Biafrans.
He will not suffer anything. Is he still not alive, has God struck him down yet? Don't allow sentiments cloud ur thoughts. Read the piece with clear eyes and learn from it. 4get hatred cos the crime was committed in the past. If the Nigerian government has enough sense to want him to face the music in Vienna for his war crimes, then fine. If they push it under the table like am sure they would then why bother urself.

No they can do better than that. Buhari and rochas are not the only two people that are in APC. Besides, I don't see Tinubu, the god of Lagos agreeing to that ticket.

Mandelaguy: Your like will keep misinforming the general public, either for your lack of knowledge, half knowledge(half education is very dangerous as my late father always said) or as a result of misinformation or total disregard to truthfulness. My point is, all these hospitals scattered around the 36 states including FCT were in disrepair, decrepit and useless (these were creations of past administrations), I can give you a total run down of the history of most of these hospitals especially in the south east where I come from. Through dogged determination and the good sense of some CMD's, some of them kept afloat. Have you taken a gradual tour around recently? Criticise when you have your facts. Atleast, I can authoritatively say that no Federal hospital in the Federation is not presently getting attention. Pick one and prove me wrong. The medical city is been handled by a reputable firm, and the target is to stop outflux of money on medical issues and our brothers(medical experts) in diaspora vowed to come back and be part of this project as long as they will get the same pay they get in Europe and Americas. Always get your facts before rushing to this forum.
Really, u think I don't have information. Then prove me wrong about what I said of National hospital (i'd have u know, I have friends working there. Cos of ur comment, I called some today and I know what they told me). Some of them are also on NL and one of them called u a mad man (those where not my words). Prove me wrong about FMC owerri, specialist hospital abuja (these were my alma mata). Prove me worng about them. Please, have ur proofs with links cos if u don't, for insulting me, I will make sure my colleagues meet u here so u can be told off. I know u are one of the mnions of this regime but please don't come here and muddle the truth. I have no problem with GEJ but won't hessitate to tell them where i think they go wrong. Besides, I am also one of those people u called "our brothers in dispora (medical experts)" and unless I see improvements i will keep talking.
Have you asked yourself what happened to National Hospital Abuja? What happened to Abuja central hospital huh We do not lack Hospitals in the country, what we need is to expand on the existing ones and raise their standards.

Obasanjo came up with model Health Care centre distributed across the country with Federal Medical Centers and Teaching Hospitals to handle more complicated cases. Many States have Central Hospitals established in major towns and cities across the state. They too if their standards are raised will compliments the FMC and Teaching Hospitals.
Please would it kill this government, if they invest this money into our federal hospitals. Don't give the hospitals the money but buy them the needed euipments. They want to spend 650 mil dollars on a medical city but most federal medical centres don't have ultrasounds (the basic medical investigatory tool) talk less of Multislice CT (MSCT) or Magnetic resonance (MRI). The more i think of this shit the more I convince myself that it is a catastrophic idea. Do you guys know how much a MSCT and MRI costs. It costs 1.2-1.5 mil dolloars for a bran new 64 slice MSCT and about 1.5-3 mil dollars for a 1.5 or 3 tesla MRI. That means if our government divides this money to purchase much needed equipments for major hospitals in the country they will have enough change to put back in the national treasury. Why are our leaders so irresponsible. Why is Nigeria plagued with so much selfish leaders that people have to scream and cry, sometimes die and still sometimes nothing will be done. In my earlier post I mentioned national hospital not been acredited. Do you people know that there are Doctors there who have reached the required years to be consultants but are not allowed to take the exams cos national hospital is not acreditated. Do u know how fraustrating that can be for a doctor, a person? Yet the government gave the national assembly a budjet to approve 4 billion (was it naira or dollars) for his wife's pet project. I wonder why the country must pay for her pet project. How many first ladie's pet project remain active after the woman lives office.

Mandelaguy: A positive step in a positive direction. This GEJ administration is not getting enough credit for all it is trying to give to Nigerians. A country that has been regressive and almost at the precipice of dark abyss is gradually being brought back to a constructive and focused existence. I keep saying it that the culmination of all the Federal govt. projects between now and first quarter of 2015 will make Nigerians realise that those who kept us in this position of backwardness are feeding their emotions with lies and deceit in order to come back and assume the same nonchalant positions and postures on the affairs of this great nation. Kudos to GEJ and Onyebuchi Chukwu. We are all waiting.
These people are so sick. Are leaders are mad. What does Abuja medical city mean. Just another political stunt to impress gullible Nigerians like some of us here. I already see people giving kudos to the idea. Look, what u guys forget is that, u can't go to Europe, see how big their hospitals (many are as big as small cities) are and say u will build such in Nigeria. In as much as its a wonderful idea but please, ask them what of National Hospital Abuja. Ask them what of Specialist Hospital Abuja. These hospital lost their accreditation some years back and still the government failed to do something about. Doctors there finish their training and can't be called doctors cos these hospitals don't have accreditation to train doctors. They continue residency but can't take the board exams to be Consultants. I hear this has be ongoing for years. These hospitals don't have equipments but the government wants to spend money to build a Medical city. The established hospitals are rotting away and not maintained and still our government wants to build a medical city. (Takes a deep breathe) well it happens only in Nigeria.

Health › French Court Convicts Doctors In Radiation Overdose Case by drnoel(op): 5:43pm On Feb 13, 2013
Three doctors at a hospital in northeastern France have been convicted of manslaughter and serious injury because of radiation overdoses between 2001 and 2006 that affected 450 prostate cancer patients. The incidents led to the deaths of at least 12 patients and resulted in serious injury to many others.

The overdoses at Jean Monnet Hospital in Epinal, Les Vosges, resulted from two key errors, the judge in the case summed up last week in Paris after a four-month hearing. One of the mistakes concerned incorrect technical calibration in radiation therapy machines during installation in 2004, and the second stemmed from human error, namely not factoring into the final calculation the radiation dose that patients received during radiological exams prior to treatment in procedures that took place between 2001 and 2006.

Dr. Michel Aubertel waits for the verdict in Paris. Image courtesy of AFP/GETTY.
The convictions have yet again highlighted the importance of radiation dose awareness, not only for patients but also for healthcare providers. One of the defendants, Dr. Joshua Anah, was sentenced to a fixed prison term of 18 months, a fine of 10,000 euros ($13,600 U.S.), and a five-year ban on practice. Meanwhile, his colleagues, cancer physicians Dr. Jean-Francois Sztermer and Dr. Michel Aubertel, were given fixed sentences of 18 months, fines of 20,000 euros ($27,000 U.S.), and lifelong bans from practicing medicine.

According to published reports, at least 24 patients received a 20% radiation overdose between May and August 2005 due to erroneous calibration of new radiation therapy machines, while failure to take into account radiation dose from previous imaging procedures led to overdoses of between 8% and 10% across 424 other patients between 2001 and 2006.

Besides the 12 fatalities, the overdosing has caused serious urinary and digestive problems and sexual dysfunction among many of the affected patients. Anah admitted to negligence in the calibration of the machines and failure to correctly train technicians in using them. His suspended three-year sentence included the charges of manslaughter and destroying evidence, while the other two doctors were each given four-year suspended sentences that recognized manslaughter, unintentional injury, and failing to help people in danger.

According to the French Society of Oncologic Radiotherapy (Société Française de Radiothérapie Oncologique [SFRO]), two-thirds of cancer patients are treated with radiotherapy at some stage of their disease, representing 200,000 treatments in France per year, equating to about 4 million sessions. Of those patients cured of cancer, 40% owe this outcome to radiotherapy, according to the SFRO.

In a statement shortly ahead of the opening of the court case in September 2012, SFRO said strict measures were in place to prevent treatment errors, and these had been reinforced since 2006 through an increase in full-time radiotherapy staff to 530 in 2011, compared with 350 in 2006. The number of posts is set to increase in 2013 and 2014, according to SFRO.

In addition, radiotherapy quality assurance staff were established in 140 centers across France in 2011 and 2012 to improve the dissemination of radiotherapy safety awareness and practice through ensuring the application of QA measures.

Finally, the creation of an early signaling mechanism to l'Autorité de Sûreté Nucléaire (French Nuclear Security Authority) and the French medical regulatory agency, Agence Française de Sécurité Sanitaire des Produits de Santé (French Agency for the Safety of Health Products [AFSSAPS]), for unexpected adverse events both within a service and at a national level mirrored the amplification of a "culture of safety" that already existed in many radiotherapy centers before 2006, according to the society, and this culture would continue to strengthen through ongoing professional training for all radiotherapy staff.

Ngwakwe: Federal Government wants to encourage investment by reducing cost of registration of company with foreign equity participation from N50,000 to N15,000.

Lagos State under our (yet to be messiah President) Babatunde Fashola is discouraging business by forcing Spare Parts and Auto Dealers to pay yearly renewable "levy" of N50,000 and N100,000 without recourse to the size of their business.

If APC is to adopt the Economic policies of Lagos State Govt, I will "advise" my Eastern Nigeria brethren to keep of this so called mega party until Fashola's ulterior motives are purged from the system for better Nigeria.
Bros, I told people that fashola would soon show his true colours be they didn't believe me. They are seeing it for themselves now...
