@drnoel, I am right and ur informants are wrong. I have both oral tradition, written history and everyday observation to buttress my position. I go to Arochukwu at least 4 times every year, Easter, Ikeji (New yam) Christmas, New year and at least one burial. I also relate witht the elders because i am from Isiogo (Eziogo) (which means nothing happens without someone from my compound being there) and inspite of western education (which in all modesty i have had a fair share) i am still traditionally inclined, so i can tell you whatthe real truth is. Your uncles either do not know the history or they are trying to hoodwink you into believing the wrong. Which reminds me, the non-Amadis are generally known (not referred to) as Ohu. But it is only the elderly ones that dwell on such topics and it hardly ever comes into play when some decisions are taken. we relate without any distinctions or demarcations save as i had already outlined in my earlier post. If you want further clarifications, please ask and you shall be satisfied.
sure if u have any information pls share.

wow wow wow , igbos people are really shamless people, in this 21st century     the worst part is the way you wash your dirty linen on public forums, you might as well post it on facebook chai , you people should stop posting such depressing topics on public forums, keep you poo to urself yack. now am begining to reason with those yorubas that keep bashing you . nawa oo na so we for dey with una for biafra.
We are proud of who we are, and that includes discussing topics like this, just like female ggeenniittaall mutilation practiced by several cultures, topics like this shld be brought up and discussed, why shld you hide it when you know its there, BTW whats your ethnic group??say it if your are proud of who you are.i dare you to say where you are from.
U must be silly 4 making such a comment. U don't just come here and insult a group of people that make up more than 25% of the Nigerian population. If u don't know anything about the topic shut ur silly mouth and listen, u may learn something nice when u listen. If u don't like the line of discussion then act like the 3 wise monkeys, do no evil, see no evil, speak no evil

@ afam, I do not have the patience to read through the entire thread, i have however noted a point that i believe deserves a response, or perhaps an answer. The people of arondizuogu are not osu, at least from inception (so i guess it will not change later). They are people of Arochukwu extract and they moved on to stay in the present location where they are now. For avoidance of doubt, the Aros of Arochukwu do not have the Osu Caste system, what they have is Amadi and non-Amadi. An Amadi can actually marry a non-Amadi and no body will raise an eyebrow, although there was a guy that wanted to marry my cousin (a female) sometime ago, and i think one of my uncle's did not just like the guy, so part of his peruasive argument was taht my cousin will loose her Amadi status upon marrying the guy. However, people do not go into tracing such history generally in terms of marriage, although in quite a few instances, teh Amadis will always try to indicate that they are the 'sons of the soil'.

Back to the people of Arondizuogu, they still come home to their ancestral home in Arochukwu during the Ikeji Festival )in teh last week of September each year) and they are welcome and we mix and celebrate with them. As a matter of fact, another of my uncles married from there and that his wife happens to be one of the best wives we had ever brought into our family fold. Further, my other relations also go to Ndizuogu whenever they are celebrating their own Ikeji (new yam festival), i have hardly had teh time to attend though. Essentially therefore, teh Arondizuogus are not Osu because they are extracted fro Arochukwu and the Aros do not have the caste system.

Secondly, the law has also abolished that rubbish and honestly why would any one person have a right to determine that someone else is lesser than others. If we had that system, i for one would have gone all out to search out and marry an Osu and then see what happens. By the way forthe records, in Arochukwu, the people we say are not Amadis are teh ones doing a lot better than the Amadis, althouh te reason is a lot more historical, but that is the fact.
Well I don't know where u got ur info but my Uncles told me once there was this God the people of Aro used to worship that was too potent. They did call them Osu when they told me. I don't know if they were right or wrong, but there was this very nice wealthy guy that came 2 marry my sister some yrs ago and my Uncle that usually like seeing that kind of wealthy person completely blocked it. My sis married someone else.

Its funny but our parents keep talking and screaming about Osu ma Ohu and warned us strictly 2 stay away and not bring any home. I remember one time many of my guys came around (we were in the Uni then in the east), my dad staged us with more than an hour talk on the topic. It was also the same my guys cos all our parents were against it.
Funny, 70% of my home boys married the so called Osu's from different towns. I asked one of them once why did u decide 2 go again ur parents. He said "men have u seen girls 4rm those regions. Or boy these chick fine no be small. Dem be like Tomato Jos. Abeg, my parents have 2 get used 2 the idea".
Celebrities › Popular Singer Shakira Escapes Sea Lion Attacks In South Africa by drnoel(op): 8:37pm On Feb 14, 2012
A sea lion has attacked Colombian singer, Shakira, as she enjoys her holiday in Cape Town, South Africa.

Shakira posted about the incident on her Twitter account and followed it up with a full ‘special report’ and photographs of the encounter on Facebook.

Although she was not hurt by the sea lion, she sustained some bruises on her palms.

The incident happened on Sunday.

The popular singer of hit track, ‘Hips don’t lie’, said on Sunday afternoon, she was trying to play with some sea lions and seals.
As she took pictures of the mammals with her BlackBerry phone, a sea lion suddenly lunged at her. But she was swiftly pulled out of harm’s way by her brother.

Shakira later tweeted:
This afternoon I happened to see some sea lions and seals. I thought to myself how cute they were so I decided to get a bit closer than all of the other tourists and went down to a rock trying to pet them doing a baby talk while taking pictures… Suddenly, one of them jumped out of the water so fast and impetuously th…at it got about one foot away from me, looked me in the eye, roared in fury and tried to bite me. Everyone there screamed, including me. I was paralyzed by fear and couldn’t move, I just kept eye contact with it while my brother “Super Tony” jumped over me and literally saved my life, taking me away from the beast. We both got our hands and legs scratched by the rocks while trying to protect ourselves. I believe what happened is that it confused the shiny reflection of the blackberry I was taking these pics with, with some sort of fish. It probably thought I was teasing it with food and then taking it away from it. Wow! It’s funny that only half an hour before I was complaining to my guide Andrew that I never get to see wild animals up close on adventurous trips. Oh well, I can’t say that anymore!! Now I’m off to see some penguins! I hope they are a bit more friendly!”

On Tuesday, Shakira posted about her encounter with penguins on Facebook, saying, ”Today with the penguins! Definitely friendlier!”

We were discussing about my brother and his series of affairs. She was of the opinion he would not change and I was of the opinion that he has. It was a baseless argument cos its not our lives but ma brothers so we didn't have to be right or wrong. We didnt have to agree either but neither did we need to argue about it.
Family › Why Do Women Think They Are Always Right? by drnoel(op): 11:11am On Feb 12, 2012
I just had a baseless argument with my spouse. Its just maddening cos what we fought about is so irrelevant.
Why do women think they are always right? Why do they always want to be correct and their men wrong? Does it always have to be black and white like that for women. I am just asking cos I have noticed this issue is peculiar with women in general.

thats the way it is sometimes when people are immature or not recognizing the quality of the person who is toasting them. Anyway his plan to use her is a bad one, if he is not interested he should tell her instead of ruining her for other men. grin

I didn't say that it makes most guys are lame brain--I said that the idea/method is a lame brain one. No problem though, I stay away from African men like that anyway. It's quite sad that that is how some of you value your women. I used to feel sorry for men who'd end up with women who sized them up by using them as ATM's but with such ideas, I can't say that I feel bad for then anymore nor do I think some guys should ever be complaining when such women take them for a ride.
Well I wont disagree with u but u should understand that what he gave was just an example. The methods and principle of elimination or choosing are just the same, but the actual method a guy would use to eliminate or choose a partner is what may differ. Girls taking guys 4 a ride is another issue (a lot of factors influence that), but that will be digressing from the topic of discussion.
Biko, tell me how you came up with this lame brain method. A woman cleaning your house, following nonsense gossip, pretending to be broke, will not prove that a woman loves you. It's foolish trickery like that that can lead to mistrust and breakups. How about you go back to the drawing board and come up with a more intelligent manner to solve this guy's friend's dilemma.
as silly as u think what he said is, most guys would agree with him. If that mean that must guys are lame brain like u say then so be it. But we guys do eliminate girls in just about similar methods as he wrote down. Sorry ladies but that is just one of the ways u where chosen or kicked out by ur guy.

Hmm, this one tire me. I don hear similar tory like this but she got 2 let us know how this one happen. Does she always go 2 see the priest. Some ladies visit priests with take away and cooked meals. I once heard of a lady dating a priest. She seduced the priest by slowly visiting, and then going with food and so on. When asked what was so appealing in the priest, she was heard 2 have said it was his holy dick or so. U guys have 2 be careful what u tell her cos this is a holy ordained man of God. God will definitely judge anyone that tells her something silly.
