Are you seriously taking sides with that vile creature?? What happened to you during your childhood to have made you like this??

A bitter soul comes to a concern parent's page to seek help on a sensitive issue and she had to make her feel worsthuh

Was your childhood that dysfunctional?? I hope you get the help you terribly need.

Chairman, you have a rigid mindset to knowledge acquisition. Everything about healing or cures is not about medical science. Wake up!

FrLukas just schooled you about hypnotherapy, one of the many solutions out there that can help autistic people and yet you are still pontificating and blindly arguing about something you know nothing about.

Sometimes our education is the very thing that hinders us from learning and growing...

Smh
Lol, we are still discussing. Don't take offense if my opinion differs from another person. That is why we are here to learn together. Hypnotherapy has not being used so far for my son cos he doesn't have the depressive phase so far. I have heard about it's use before not for Autism and have never been directly exposed to it yet.
And I don't take things blindly, I research it thoroughly. U should too.

Well you didn't ask like you wanted to learn. But if you say that's the case then it's all well and good.

A lot of the cognitive and all of the involuntary functions of the human being are performed by the subconscious mind.

The autistic child or person seems to struggle with this part of themselves.

One of the best ways to reach the subconscious mind to reengineer and reprogram it is through hypnosis.
I don't know where u get it information from though but the last I checked, hypnotherapy was only used to alleviate depression in children who have Autism. Not all children with Autism show signs of severe depression though. Hypnotherapy is not used in the routine treatment of autism.
Pls when u give information, make it specific so u don't mislead people.
Thanx

You guys should stop being like this. You don't have to bring religion into every damn thing.
Autism as far as it is concerned has no literal cure. Should we say those kids that have it were to terrible in God's eyes or its just the way it is ? You don't have to involve God in some things. Don't be like that. At least in the realm of your religion, be a little bit realistic from whatever faith you weigh in your heart.

I think you should also consult an experienced and qualified hypnotherapist.

They should be able to help your child unlock the portions of his mind that he might not have access to.
I doubt that would work. It's at the best experimental. Hypnotherapy works well in cases of memory loss not autism. If u have contrary opinion pls upload link of ur proof.

If indeed you are a believer, then I am ashamed of you. The fact that your science has no cure to a disease, does not mean Jesus has no cure. I repeat, God created that child, him alone can cure him. God is the manufacturer and he has spare parts for everything he created. Deal with it!#BelieveThat
I won't reply anyone that is still talking about religion on this issue because I don't believe they have worthwhile information that can help people whose children are suffering from this disorder.

I don't believe they understand the stress one has to go thru with ones child, the sleepless nights, the long sessions of diagnostics and then therapy, the long discussion with healthcare professionals, child psychologists, speech therapists, speech pathologists. They just have no idea because they are not directly involved and don't have to live thru it. Hence my stance of not replying silly comments on religion anymore.

For those other people that are directly involved and are either still looking for solutions, have found solutions and undergoing therapy. Pls you are welcome to give ur input. Let us learn from eachother as we share knowledge.

ASD so far has no cure. Science is still trying to understand how it is caused and there is so far no known cure. Many children afflicted tend to grow out it and may be able to live a normal life later in live.

I believe the aim of we parents is to be observant and not live in denial. Ofcos like I said earlier, the diagnosis is arrived at too fast in the western world.
Sad thing there is that as the child suffers so do the parents. Finding the correct balance between being able the help the child with socialising, school work and speaking is easy but it has to be done.
If u know u know wink

Please tell me what solution your so called "pragmatism" has provided. Autism has been with us so long, yet ur "pragmatism" has not brought any solution.

Op, your solution lies in Jesus. God created that child, him alone can cure him. God is the manufacturer and he has spare parts for everything he created.
That's a good question. In Nigeria and some parts of Africa the probability of even reaching such diagnosis is scarce and even if such a diagnosis is reached it's never on time. I know of several Nigerian families that their children were given similar diagnosis when the kids were well into their early teens. If I may throw ur question back to ur face, why then did their religion fail them?
Ur comment and I quote "God created that child, him alone can cure him. God is the manufacturer and he has spare parts for everything he created", true as it maybe is very myopic and misleading.

Autism spectrum disorders does not have a cure, atleast not in the sense of that word. Pls I don't mean any disrespect, but U should educate urself more about an issue before u come to comment and show ur ignorance. Google really explains ASD very well, u should do well to research it.

Don't get me, I am also a believer but I don't believe blindly. I believe with reasons. Besides Bible says and I quote "In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead"- James 2; 17.

Pls lets be pragmatic with information and reasons. Bringing religion and God into this discussion will only complicate the topic. Let's keep it simple cos blind belief would not solve the issue. There are parents suffering cos of this and children who are not getting their needed therapy because of lack of information. Thank you again.

Read the write up and understand it very well. The op is simply saying, ladies should not always have that mindset of "it is a wealthy, already made man" they must marry as most ladies have already conditioned their minds.

He is simply saying, if our entitlement kind of ladies of our days see a hustling guy who is being able to fed for himself and has a hustling spirit, they should wait no further to start a life with such a man.

All already made men are wise now because no already made man or wealthy man will just accept a girl and marry her straight up cuz many had be gold dig by ladies.

And any lady that is coming closer to them displaying all form of niceness, they will sense it from afar as a gold digger. They will believe that it is because of their money they are flocking around him. He will never marry any of such girls that flock around him.

That's why our ladies should learn how to start life from scratch with a man not always looking for already made men who have wise up.

I do understand the question but the word worse is rather harsh here. U won't understand till u are in the situation. It depends on the grade of autism or how much the child can concentrate. There is no worse or better of the two cos they both have their own issues.

Don't worry your child will definitely grow out of it. From experience, just ensure your therapist is a good one and make sure you confides in the class teacher so that they can gently follow him up in class and also to avoid harsh reactions towards him as a result of him not coping faster like his mate in class. Remove sugar from his meal and follow up with folic acid. But most importantly, call upon our God who alone can correct every anomalies in our system and I believe he will heal your child and make him whole in Jesus Name amen!
Do not be afraid, encourage him, get him a lesson teacher also from the school. Surround your house with educational materials, so as to enable him constantly see them and memorise them gradually.
PRAY AND CONTINUOUSLY PRAY TO GOD AND BEFORE YOU SAY JACK, YOUR BOY WILL BECOME THE BEN CARSON OF OUR TIME. GOD BLESS OUR CHILDREN IN JESUS NAME AMEN

I studied Economics (master) and I currently work at Zolando (a fashion and lifestyle company) in Berlin. That’s where most foreigners in Berlin work because you can work with English. Most jobs in Berlin are English speaking and international because there are many start-up companies here. Most people in Berlin work in IT.

I have done menial jobs like working at DHL, Amazon, Volkswagen, Edeka and factory work. The best were Amazon and Volkswagen. Even as a student you can get paid up to €2000 a month working there. They usually offer short term contracts to students and especially in Christmas season when there are high demands.

The first company I worked for was an agency that was recruiting for big factories. The manager was very racist and rude. Most black people working there did not have a choice because they don’t have papers or couldn’t find a better job. The Germans usually put Russians and Polish people as supervisors in those kind of companies because they are racist and can treat black people like slaves. Very hard job to carry heavy equipments. I quit on my first day. All the black guys I saw walking there could not stand straight.

After I quit, I filed a complaint about the company and promised to expose them and get the press involved. I hated the way they treated us. They eventually closed down the agency and reviewed the working conditions.

I also worked at Frankfurt International Airport. They scrutinized me for that job, including requiring a police report from Nigeria because it’s a high level security job. The experience was great, I met lots of travelers and got good tips but the salary was small as a student.

Many blacks here usually do “Ausbildung” (vocational training) that qualifies you to work in a specific field. Most of them work as nurses, at the airport, at a car company, or working with old and disabled people. It mostly the refugees that do this. Some with German passports do it too.

You will not find a black person working in the bank or at the front desk of a hospital. You’ll rarely and almost never see a black doctor. The day I went to a dentist in Berlin and my dentist was a black woman, I cried. She was smiling and crying as well. You rarely even see a black bus or train driver. Only a handful.

Berlin is an art city and most black people here are Black Americans who are artists and on a freelance visa. You’ll also find lots of Black Brits. A lot of black people in Berlin have professional jobs and are well paid to the standard of Berlin. Most working in IT or a start up company.

A lot of blacks here are refugees as well and most of them depend on “Hartz iv” (government benefits). They just sit at home and receive money from government every month. They receive from €600 to €800. It is an obligation of the government to support the non-working class. You’ll need to be refugee or German citizen to qualify for that. Also need to prove you’re unable to work and you’re trying to get a job.

In summary, you can get a professional job after you study. Just don’t sit in one city. Try other cities. I discovered that mostly Africans don’t like to change cities. They become comfortable getting their chicken change instead of moving to a better city where life would be better. Also try to learn German.
Lol, pls let me correct this. Yes, black doctors are scarce but they are a few. I don't know about Berlin though but I can say for sure we are quite a few wink. We just tend to hide a lot and we don't go telling people what we do. Cheers!

Dear Experienced parents and child development experts,

I have a 4-year old child suffering from mild autism which was discovered when he was two. As a concerned parent, i have taken steps by spending a lot in hiring speech and behavioural therapist, and seeing a development pediatrician with some success achieved at least in getting him stable to be able to absorb what he's being taught in class.

With diagnosis done confirming the mildness, i was encouraged to allow him do things regular children do which will help him grow out of the disorder.

Now i noticed that he has memory challenge in terms of ability to retain and recall information especially in his study which is a big concern to me. He also dislikes reading and writing but enjoy visual-based instructions.

In light of above, i need help from parents who have gone through this challenging phase with such kids and also autistic child development experts on how I can help my child over come the short term memory problem, repetition of words, writing and reading.

Please help!!!
U are already on the right track. Don't relent. I know ur pain. My son was also given the same diagnosis. He has speech difficulty, is active and doesn't concentrate in school. Then again we are not taking the diagnosis just like that, we are always in contact with his paediatrician, his child psychologist, his speech pathologist and many other colleagues involved in the whole thing. Just continue what u are doing right.
FamilyRe: Autistic Child: Please Help by drnoel: 2:52pm On Aug 13, 2020
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental disorder that affects communication and behavior. Although autism can be diagnosed at any age, it is said to be a “developmental disorder” because symptoms generally appear in the first two years of life.

According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5), a guide created by the American Psychiatric Association used to diagnose mental disorders, people with ASD have:

1) Difficulty with communication and interaction with other people
2) Restricted interests and repetitive behaviors
Symptoms that hurt the person’s ability to function properly in school, work, and other areas of life.

Autism is known as a “spectrum” disorder because there is wide variation in the type and severity of symptoms people experience. ASD occurs in all ethnic, racial, and economic groups. Although ASD can be a lifelong disorder, treatments and services can improve a person’s symptoms and ability to function.
The above is copied from American mental health.

In Nigeria this spectrum goes undiagnosed in most cases. One would ask why it is so easily arrived out in outside the shores of Nigeria. Is it due to better knowledge of the spectrum because more cases are seen there or overdiagnose?
In Europe this diagnosis is immediately given to every active child. My son to was given this diagnosis to my greatest discomfort. The only thing here is that I am knowledgeable of certain facts of the disease being that I also work in the health professional, though psychiatry is not my area.

This epistle is in reply to @MrsC143 statement about parents in Nigeria taking their children for testing. I don't mean to state a contrary opinion to hers here and do agree with her as regards the testing. But I do shy away a little from taking to much faith in whatever impression they tend to arrive at in Northern America and Europe. I say this cos I know from experience that some impressions they make are not true in all totality. I mean as parents we ofcos want the best for our children but we should be ready to contest a diagnosis that may not completely cover the interest of our children without bias.

I have seen studies that stated in clear terms that this diagnosis is reached to quickly.
It would be nice we discuss this issue here, who knows we may help someone shed more light on what he/she is experiencing with their children.

PS: MrsC143, I actually tried reaching u directly but couldn't. So I decided to highlight this here so u can see it and comment.

LASTLY... it will be very very improper for any of us here to judge this matter without hearing from BOTH PARTIES... your assumption that they LOVE each other that they can die for each other is a TOTAL LIE....

To judge a matter by hearing from ONE PARTY is really not right, but to judge it by hearing from THIRD PARTY(you) will be very unfair.
They have parents and relatives... pls allow them sort it out and keep it out of nairaland.

PEOPLE SHOULD STOP BRINGING PRIVATE MATTERS TO THE PUBLIC. The public didnt choose their marriage for them... public opinion is not usually right.

ARE THEY NOT MUSLIMS OR CHRISTIANS? The cleric/pastor who joined them together should also help if both family's relatives are failing to correctly resolve the matter...

Your post is too VAGUE for any counselor to help or interfere. If you are not the spouse and its truly your friend, pls leave this matter and keep the internet media out of it.
Details is not necessary. We don't need details, cos it's an internal issue. Doesn't concern us. The reason is cos 3rd parties are usually regarded as enemies of progress after a couple settle an issue. If they love eachother then this won't break them. But one person has to play the fool for peace to rein. Elders that said "In marriage there is no pride", knew what they were talking when they said it. Once u marry a wife and start having children by her, both of u have to learn to throw pride outa da window.
Cheers!
