Who Actually 'discovered' the River Niger?

It's widely believed that Mungo Park 'discovered' the River Niger.

However, there are some unanswered questions to the 'discovery'.

Firstly, history had it that he 'asked' the locals (villagers) for direction to the river. If he was the one that actually 'discovered' the river, how come some people directed him there? Have they not been there before him? How can some people direct him to where he wanted to 'discover'?

Secondly, the locals are believed to be bathing, fishing and fetching water from the 'undiscovered' river. If he was the one that actually 'discovered' the River first, he should be the one to first bath or swim in the river. But this is not so.

Lastly, while some people believe that he discovered the River 'mouth', others believe he discovered it for the British. Why is there no generally accepted direct answer to the question "What did Mungo Park discover"?

No he wasn't the first to discover the river Niger. The tale is false. Annoying things is that they made us learn it by heart.

Wow just wow...I live in Finland myself and always visit Stockholm via Viking Cruise, I never knew it is like that there. This means that these are generally easier here in Finland, because e.g with our local drivers license from Naija, we can get Finnish temporary license immediately and after verification, the original can be obtained in some months...lol no wonder Finns don’t like Swedes one bit lol

Ooh I forgot to mention earlier on. For information on how to grow. There are certain gardening videos u could watch on YouTube that could help u. I saw several before I even developed courage to start.

How to grow, lol. Am just learning as I go ooh. Am no expert gardener but my wifey now calls me a farmer . Na wah ooh, just cos I managed to plant tomatoes and zucchini
U could try those ones that grow fast and tolerate early cold but do very well warmer temp. I would say tomatoes, pepper, Paprika, zucchini, eggplant. Then u could also try herbs Basil, rosemary, Petersilie, Dill, Oregano. Those herbs are great when u use them fresh to spice meat and fish. We had so much fun grilling with them at the heart of summer.
Like I said, I am no expert but learning as I go. So people with more advanced information here could also give their input

Maybe when u find time in the spring, try to plant Vegetables around spring so u can enjoy them in the summer. Our last summer yield was really a lot. I even got my wife interested in gardening after she saw how much veges, we could harvest. It was fun.
