Apologies over my long absence. I have being occupied with family responsibilities and hustling. Few weeks ago marked my one year in the UK and i must confess that coming to the UK was the best decision i made. I thank God for his infinite mercies upon my life and my family.
I always spy the Travel thread and i have made one or two comments in one of the threads. There is something i find sickening amongst some Nigerians particularly Nairalanders. They have this wrong notion that Nigerians in the UK are poor, Nigerians in the UK dont make much money and that the UK economy is dead.
I am going to state emphatically that unless you are living in the UK illegally and lazy that is when you go poor. Personally, if you are hardworking and living here legally, i think you will be better off than your contemporaries in Australia, Canada or USA. Since j arrived the UK i have bever been out of job. I have done care and factory jobs in the last 7 months and with the income of these jobs i have succeeded in building a three bedroom flat for my mom and also assist my wife in building another 3 bedroom flat for her mom. And one idiot who has not leave the shores of Nigeria will be talking down on the country.
That been said, few months ago, I decided to be self employed. I registered with 2 food delivery companies that offers fast and reliable delivery which the customer can track on their phones. One can deliver by bicycle, motorcycle or car. But i chose to work with an Electric bike which makes the job very very easy. Pretty straightforward and easy job as you are expected to work with just your phone and your delivery thermal bag to keep the food warm. Another interesting part is that you are your own boss, you work when you like and you can cancel an offer if you dont like the address of the customer.
I easily makes £100 in 4 to 5 hours on a weekday and £120 to £150 in 5 hours on weekends. Because i have got a wife, i only do Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and i dont work more than 6 hours. Talking about the future, i am planning on starting a Masters programme soon.
I am not here to brag or to chase clout but to educate some myopic Nigerians who thinks we are all suffering in the UK.
Cheers!
This ur comment about being in the UK just 1 year and being able to build 2 houses in naija doesn't sound fullproof. Anyways, it's ur opinion but careful u don't mislead some people.
GreyLaw: I told a moniker here Amaratopaz (I cannot remember name correctly now) some months ago that Trump would win and we had some debate about it.
Now the odds are greatly in favour of Biden but he will not be president. In fact, Biden is currently leading in Georgia and if he wins it he becomes president. The media can declare him president but he will not enter the White House even for a second. Jail is most likely for him and his cronies, including some republicans also.
There are some things people see months ahead of time and juet keep quiet. I saw this in February but will not say more.
Biden can have the votes, they are all fake by the way, but he WILL not be president. I have been saying this months before now. Watch how it unfolds. I hope Amaratopaz is watching. Please correct me if I spelt your name wrongly.
Mark these words.
U can keep crying, what is real will be real. Trump will loose and go to jail, Biden will be president
hypocrisy is when you love trump for being 'Christianocentric' and preserving Christian values in the world at all cost and hate on buhari for being ethnocentric and preserving Islam values in northern Nigeria at every cost.
I'm so ashamed of my fellow Christians especially those from the east and so disappointed in my favorite nairaland gospel preacher -righteousness89
#hypocrisy is not Christlike
trump preserving Christian values. That is very delusional like trump
I am a dual citizen (Nigeria and EU). I plan to move to the Uk in a matter of weeks (3 weeks top). I have never been to the Uk but I have applied for a few jobs, I don't know how they will turn out but I am hopeful. I need a lot of advice from you all. I have two degrees from Europe (A B.B.A. and an MSc (Service Innovation and Management). I want to settle in as quickly as possible.
Here are my questions: 1. Where can I find affordable housing? Since I don't have a job at the moment my budget is roughly 400 pounds a month.
2. What is the advice on jobs? I can work immediately since I am an EU citizen. Where do I apply for jobs (entry level at this point) or get a job that might not need qualifications but can allow me earn well in the short term.
3. What do I need to know or do to settle in to the Uk as efficiently as possible? E.g. phone contracts, NHS, etc.
These are some of the questions I have for now. Looking forward to reading your answers.
Thanks a lot!
P.S. I need all the assistance I can get.
Am not in the UK but the question should be, why the rush to move to the UK at this time of the pandemic. I mean, since u have an EU citizenship. Why not take ur time to plan since u don't currently have a job offer in the UK, get ur research going before the movement. Many Nigerians are fond of telling others to move to the UK. I also have dual citizenship (EU and Naija) and my close friends have been pestering me for ages to move to the UK. I mean, am I just going to stand up one day and go there? Anyways, everyone's situation are different and I apologize for my outburst. But I think one should carefully observe ones situation before action. On another note, I am also actually quite interested in the answers u get. So UK people pls answer this comment. Also it may be interesting to know about NHS jobs too.
LillianB: "Teachers are powerless, parents are powerless" future generation will be.....
Very true but don't forget we are Nigerians and then Africans, educated or not. I haven't forgotten the lessons I learnt while growing up. My parents weren't overly strict but once I was unruly to my dad and I got the severe trashing of my life. I didn't repeat that shit with him again. I don't advocate violence but if a child refuses to hear and has been warned severely and still refuses to hear then u bring out the big stick. Hopefully u only need to do so once for it to stick into the child's hear. Meanwhile while u are at it, be very careful cos they do check the bodies of child in schools and also during check ups in clinics.
slawormiir: damnnn niggarrrr Isoright So all these American movies when i dey watch about American army on their special weapons and Tactics na true

You think Ohanezes are dumb to rebuke Nnamdi Kanu? You think they made the statement just because they want to trend?
Sit down here, you guys eye will soon clear.
Yoruba adage says “Iku omo ni m pa Ayitale”.
I hope the idiot Kanu won’t endanger the lives of his people with his unguarded utterances.
U Sound like a tribalist too if u would attempt to put the actions of 1 man on the lot. Besides, I doubt Igbos where involved in those assets destruction
Long answer : The nigga his attractive, but he belive if he shoot his shot it will score... But he not ready to take that chances because he knows she could be expensive for him to maintain.
The nigga felt a bad energy flowing around the lady... Not everyone but some people have the ability to sense Bad energy from a stranger... So they stay away quickly to aviod story that touch..
God bless you all God bless the federal republic of Nigeria
I don't know which one is shoot ur shot . Who are u shooting? Then again, girl being expensive to maintain has never prevented guys from taking the risk, if they feel they have to.

In this time of COVID u are asking such question? Have u not heard of social distancing? Or is that term foreign to u?
In this video, doctors and other hospital staff can be seen escaping through windows as Nigerian military reportedly invade to finish off gunshot survivors
The snipers are believed to be put there to prevent hoodlums from attacking the hotel.
Other investments believed to be owned by the owner of the hotel have already been attacked and burnt
Jokers!! Those things have been there all along. This one na propaganda. Everyone knows snipers are taught to have the tips of their gun within the prepuce of the building they are operating from.
If u went to university, u will know what am talking about. Atleast that is one experience one can state. A friend has had a group of women whistle and shout slurry words at him as he jugged past. He said he shouted back at them, "that is sexual harassment". They shouted back, "we know". But didn't stop. Their assessment of his commodities. He said, he just took it on a light shoulder.
Mrscarter: Not all. If I'm enjoying it I'll show it but if am not I've faked in the past...U know just so my ex didn't think I was boring or not enjoying him..when really he wasn't doing that gud Had to let him think he was doing a gud job lol...who am I to hurt his ego Most the time tho if am not into it I would just say n try something else that got me into it. Alot of girls will fake moan so damn loud n U can tell it's fake n it's annoying.
That actually not right. There is no ego thing in sex esp in marriage. If it's boring then spice it up. When couples can healthily engage in communication within and without the sack, there will be no need to fake it. That is one thing, I believe I have encouraged and hope have achieved with my partner. We are open as regards everything. If am or she is not feeling it. She says so or I tell her. The other party works to get the other one there. Simple!
Juliusmalema: And they have been reminded that they are not from there..
But that's the point. They are from there. How else can one be or not be from a place? Isn't birth, living and investments not parts of the criterion that cements being part of a place? If what u are talking about is indigenous status then they can also claim such cos they were born and raised there. Though I detest the use of that word "indigene" cos it's one of the problems of Nigeria.
Chicago213: There are a number of realities about Canada that immigrants don’t realize. First is that Canada is managing Canada’s immigration system for the benefit of Canadians, not immigrants. If you can’t find a job, that’s your problem, not Canada’s. Canada is accepting so many immigrants for demographic reasons - to fund its generous social programs by having large numbers of young, well trained, hard working citizens. It is not trying to make immigrants happy, it is trying to make Canadians happy.
Another reality is that Canada has the best educated work force in the world. Most people in Canada now have university or college degrees, so no matter the level of your Educational qualifications, in Canada you're still average.
There are a lot of immigrants who came to Canada with fantastic degrees and vast job experience, but unfortunately now work as carpenters, plumbers, masons etc. Nigerians need to realize that the streets are not paved with gold in Canada, you have to make your own gold.
This post got my attention and I had to reply. Lol, people who hate the truth will attack you. So just allow everyone to their own demons. U can't fight everybody's battle for them
