Hello,

Ideally you should but If you ask for my opinion stick to the 20hrs.

The question now is IF, don't overexpect so you don't get disappointed, there have been records of delay in issuing visa, when you arrive and after sorting accommodation, you will need to collect your BRP and apply for NIN(these documents allow you work) and may take time. This is before applying for jobs, doing interview and getting an offer.
One month never pass so? And then boom! time for lectures.

This is the true reality!

Cheers

Hello

I believe your passport vignette will carry a certain date, I also believe you are expected to enroll once you arrive

If you choose to defer your admission to September, the old visa then becomes invalid, pending on the school's policy they may need to reissue a new CAS and you may need to apply for a new visa.

Chances of the school deferring your admission is up to the school, nobody will tell you what to expect, you have to speak with your admission team and they will advise.

Just so you know, after enrollment, the school will send the data of all the students that have enrolled for that academic session to the home office.
So please if you want to defer your admission let your school know, make them no bounce you for border.

If it is May resumption, time is not on your side.

Cheers

atoke2021:
Hello all,
Please i have a question for a friend.
If you apply for UK student visa for May resumption and move your start date to September because family issues require that you stay in Nigeria a little bit longer, does that have any impact on your visa? I mean after UK has given you your visa? Specifically, does the student have to reapply for another visa? Also, what are the chances of the school being comfortable with moving the resumption term?

Thank you all.

Hello

I also did a bit of digging and you should to. If I am right AMI is a diploma in education. Not sure where that falls under in RQF/SQF, but see this screenshot and confirm if you can get a study visa and a graduate visa when you finish.

There is a link to also confirm if your institution is licensed.

Check them out

Thank you @duchess90.

The program is a 2 year diploma with option of either day or night(For student who intend to work) It's not a full time program. Qualifications is AMI Diploma.

Concerning the IELTS, I did speak with the admin but he insisted that with IELTS they won't be able to sponsor the visa.

Can I Dm you for further details please?

Hello,

I still insist that part time students can't work regardless of the duration of the program. So if this is the main reason for going this route you might have to rethink it

You may want to confirm if your diploma course will allow you come into the country, most diploma courses I know will advise a visit visa for short course (mostly for exams) bulk of the studies are online and self study. I am yet to see a lecturer working night here. The main course is fully online.

This may or may not have changed though

What is the name of your institution?

If they insist on IELTS to give you sponsorship then you don't have much of a choice do you?

Cheers

Hello,

No one holds the TLS app to guarantee that you will get the date you want.

Whatever date is available you might have to book it and then try the option that can allow you walk in to the center if it is available.I think it is called the Flexi ( you may need to pay extra for that)

Cheers

Good evening all, please a quick question, I intend to pay for my IHS and visa fees on Wednesday; 4th May this week. I was told after payment I will then proceed to pick a centre which cannot be changed..

I intend to pick ikeja centre.. but my fear is if the date 9th of May will be available because that's when I wish to go for my biometric...

Is the booking date too close to the biometric date? Will I get 9th of May or should I chose another centre where I can get guarantee of 9th of May?

Please I need advice

Hello

The question is not how soon you can reapply, that can be done immediately.
What is most important is addressing the concerns raised. For instance, the second reason, how can you address that?

Otherwise you'll keep piling refusals.

Address the concerns raised, dot your i 's and cross your t's and then reapply.

Cheers
Longjonjoe:
I also got a refusal letter today, imagine waking up and gbam! The email just dropped. The two reasons why i was denied was the large sum of money I received between December and January, the money didn’t have a narration, now i see the reason why when transferring money from one of your account to the other, always write a narration maybe “savings” or just state what the money will be used for. I didn’t explain the large sum in a letter to UKVI. The 2nd reason was my company i work for, they said they checked it on CAC and it showed “INACTIVE” omo i weak!!! I’ve been working here for 3 years now. Guys please how soon can I reapply, i was advised by a friend that i should wait for 6 months. That is far. Has anyone applied immediately after they got s refusal and got the visa eventually or they waited 6 months. I will gladly appreciate your answers please. Thank you

Hello

Minimum wage per hour is per age group. The highest used to be £8.91 but it's been recently reviewed last month to £9.50,I don't know how soon companies have to implement this though.

There is nothing like maximum rate, this depends on the company you work for and experience.

You can look at this link for more information: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/the-national-minimum-wage-in-2022

Hello,

Few questions what level of qualifications is stated in your offer?

Is this a part time course or full time?
Are you aware part time visa holders are not eligible to work?

Visa eligibility also has alot to do with the level of course.

With regards to September,I think you should still be within the time frame if you get things sorted soon but these questions are key if you have the answers

Also alot of people have mentioned their WAEC certificate was sufficient and they didn't need to write IELTS,but you need to clarify with your school

Cheers

Pamelayoung:
Good day everyone.
Thank you all for your contribution on this thread.

I'm new here and would need clarifications on some issues.
First my program is a 2-year diploma night course. I purposely choose the night option so as to be able to work during the day. I have a provisional offer from the institute, which I have accepted though I am yet to make the fee deposit and write IELTS. My program start date is September 2022. I'm apprehensive that I am starting the application a bit late, following information gathered here concerning wait times for TB screening and other requirements. My question now is if I start application now, will I meet up with September start date? Secondly, can I book a date for the TB without having started an application. At this point what's the first thing I should do? Write IELTS or start the application?

Addison and Ellis share a two bedroom housing association flat on 13th floor of a high rise complex on the edge of an old council estate in Southend-on-Sea. Addison works in the local Sainsbury’s on shifts and Ellis is on a zero hours contract with a delivery company. Both are aged 22 years old. Together they have a child, Corey, aged 5. They have been together 7 years now. From the age of 5 Addison grew up in foster care after witnessing domestic abuse and being neglected. Both of Addison’s parents were long term heroin users.

Addison and Ellis met online and immediately ‘hit it off’ as Ellis too had experienced a traumatic childhood with severe bullying in the final years of school. Both Addison and Ellis have become skilled at ‘stick and poke’ tattooing, to the point that many of their friends have asked them to create homemade tattoos for them. In secret, they gave Corey a tiny tattoo on his ankle, after Corey ‘had begged them for one’. Ellis has an interest in becoming a professional tattooist. Ellis is Corey’s main carer and works for the delivery company during the times Corey is at school or when Addison isn’t working.

During the Covid-19 crisis and lockdown, Ellis’ work stopped as the company went into liquidation. As a result, the couple had to rely on Addison’s income. As the Covid-19 crisis continued to worsen, Addison worked longer and longer hours and increasingly showed signs of stress at home, often shouting at Corey and becoming short tempered with Ellis. Online, Ellis told a friend that Addison constantly watches them, and Ellis is ‘having to walk on eggshells around Addison’. Ellis is worried this might be affecting Corey.

Last night, around 11pm, Addison started an argument with Ellis immediately after returning from work and told Ellis, that Ellis is ‘f...ing useless, lazy and the flat is filthy’. When Ellis tried to respond, Addison grabbed Ellis by the throat and screamed ‘shut up, shut up’. The shouting woke Corey who came into the living room, saw what was happening and burst into tears.

Hello,

Your friend should only be worried if the marriage is indeed sham.

If it is not, evidence of dating ( a mix of pictures, chats, bills paid together etc)at different months throughout the span of 3years should be submitted along with the marriage certificate when he is processing his dependant application.

It is that simple, they don't have to defer the admission

Cheers

Emia:
Good afternoon friends.
My friend is in a dilemma.
He's been dating a girl for over 3 years now and she has decided to travel abroad for her master's. He's footing about 70% of the bills so they decided to do a court marriage last month so they can move together and start visa application by July as she's already gotten admission.
Now the issue is someone advised them that their marriage date is too close to the visa application date and that it might raise red flags as the marriage might be viewed as a sham marriage (even though it isn't).
They were advised to defer the admission and not apply now. Now he's scared of applying as he doesn't want to risk a rejection.
Please what's your advice and does he really stand a huge risk of rejection?

Hello,

Not sure 7 WD or 2weeks will make a massive difference in your application but I would reprint my statement to have a recent date.

2. You have to explain that deposit

3. Again it doesn't make any difference, self or assisted the choice is completely yours,as long as the necessary documents are uploaded

My 2pence opinion,others may add

Cheers

CarrilT:
Good morning,
So I paid for my VISA application yesterday and on getting redirected to TLS site the earliest available slot for capturing in Lagos was 13th of may. I feel that's kind of far.
My questions I already printed out my documents (Bank statement and others),
Hope a bank statement of 7 working days or 2 weeks won't be too long for consideration or should I just do a reprint towards the appointment date.

Also I have a regular salary of about 7 figures, and a 6 figure deposit was made into my account earlier in the bank statement. Do I need to explain this deposit.
I wanted to do self service but on realising the date is far and not too sure if I might need a reprint I opted for assisted service. Was this wise?
PS
I have been rejected visa by US embassy before which I stated.
This is my first time of applying for visiting UK VISA
Thanks for time in reading this and offering your advises.

Hello,

It is a 50/50 chance, you still have to follow due process, submit documents and attend the interview like they would in Nigeria.

There is no preference or difference in doing so in the UK.However with the USA I doubt there is any available appointment, the last time I checked for family was January 2023.

Cheers

TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 7 by duchess90(f):
Recycled funds are when you present the same funds you used for only your application as that of your dependants, (emphasis on 'only').

Ideally POF should cover both you and your dependant but people have tried to outsmart the system by showing the same figures. This wasn't a concern until recently when bank statements for the applicant (you) was also requested for alongside that of the dependants

Again not in all cases , but be prepared incase you are asked to either resubmit your own statement or provide evidence to back the reduced POF if applicable.

Hope it makes sense now.

You might want to look at the general visa thread and read to see the experience there.
Even though your sister is in the UK, the onus is on the younger sister to show ties and prove she will return after her visit.

Hello,

You will need a new CAS and new visa application.

You might loose your deposit from previous uni and may need to return home to reapply pending on how complicated this become.

Outsmarting mentality doesn't work in the UK. if you want to go with the new offer, then decline the old one, request a refund,(they may deduct charges)and proceed with the new school.

Again, Outsmarting mentality will put you in trouble,do the right thing every time even when it seems nobody is watching.
