The truth is that in any Nigerian university setting, everybody has a candidate. From the dean to the HOD to the secretary in the Deans office sef. I know this from my time in OAU. This girls name has been swapped with somebody's candidate. It was probably this provost sef that is trying to rewrite the laws of mathematics, that swapped the girls name |
I finished from OAU and I'm not buying into this crap. OAU like other Federal UNIs has 1st, 2nd and 3rd supplementary lists with people who have scored way way lower than the girl in question. Be that as it may, the girl was thinking she was dealing with an ideal situation and an utopian society where rules are strictly adhered to and where people are considered based on their abilities. That is sadly not the case. Knowing the kind of society we're in and with an excellent score like that, she should have pushed her case and maybe pulled some strings to get in. 320! what a waste! |
I'm all for anti corruption and getting criminals. But I think we urgently need to reprise the role of the DSS in 21st century Nigeria. The military governments of the past used to DSS to perpetuate their regimes in power for as long as possible and neutralise any opposition to their regimes. It appears that mentality or tile has spilled into the DSS of today. Russia has the investigative committee that stays completely out of politics and national security and concerns itself only with crimes that the local police can't solve. The USA has the FBI, which though is saddled with national security matters, also investigates crimes that the local police can't handle. Then we have the Nigerian DSS, whose functions today are as opaque as they were when it was created. The major national security issues we have in Nigeria today are the kidnappings countrywide, the Fulani herdsmen massacres in the middle belt, the pipeline bombings in the ND and the Boko haram insurgency in the NE. I have never heard about the DSS constituting any special task force or squad to tackle these issues which are clear threats to national security. Instead the DSS will go and tear down the doors of the houses of judges. The DSS will be writing fraudulent security reports to kill the anti corruption momentum of the government. The DSS will go and be arresting journalists like they did in Akwa ibom. And now they've gone on to make another political arrest today in Abuja. We need to sit down and clearly appraise the usefulness and functions of the DSS in post military era Nigeria. |
I want to first of all laud the CBN for coming up with the anchor borrowers program. Nigeria's rice output has more than trippled since the inception of the program. Then i must condemn the attempt by the state governments of Lagos and Kebbi to take us back to the stone age by controlling the price and distribution of food. No government in any state should be allowed to fix the price of food for any reason, they have no business doing that. The government should be providing roads for safe passage of agricultural commodities from the north to the south, and not competing with market forces for the sale and distribution of food at subsidized prices. The government should be encouraging private enterprises to delve into the transport and distribution of food. Now we're going to have rice round tripping and hoarding as government workers that have access to the Lake rice can go and rebag and resell the rice at market price of N21,000. I have no idea why a state governor, that went to school, will come up with a system that will result in people queuing for food in the 21st century! We all know government is very inefficient in doing business. We've seen it with the refineries, the national air carrier, national shipping carrier, the NNPC, almost every business the government engages in, even the Lagos water corporation is grossly inefficient. What makes the Lagos state government think it can make LAKE rice an exception? |
That Ozekhome is so predictable. Always on the side of evil. Little wonder his clientele list includes the likes of Fayose, Igbenedion and Jonathan. When Ibori finally arrives Nigeria I'm sure he'll offer to defend him. Criminal! |
Personally I hate corruption, I detest corrupt people. But Ibori was just unlucky. Saraki was also a two term governor like ibori. Saraki also laundered Kwara money like Ibori laundered Delta money. Saraki used Kwara money to buy houses in London like Ibori. Saraki used his wife to launder more money in the UK, than Ibori did. In fact additionally, Saraki was mentioned in the Panama leaks for using fronts and fake companies to buy property in his wife's name. Saraki was indicted by the CCB for false declaration of assets. But today, Saraki is senate president and his wife, Toyin is a "big woman". Ibori is an ex con and his wife Nkoyo is still in prison. To me, this smacks of injustice. |
mcquin:I'm not canvassing for middle men. Whqt I'm saying is that from precedence and from the experience of other societies, this type of food distribution system does not/cannot work! It has failed in the former Soviet union and almost everywhere else it has been practised. Let as many people as possible get involved in the transport and distribution of the rice. If different people bring in their rice at different prices, we will have a range of prices to choose from. Plus it will be an efficient system because there will be competition. The way it is now 80% of that rice will end up unaccounted for, in the homes of government workers and political appointees. They may even store it up and start using it to sway voters in 2019. It is not an efficient system because there will be massive scrambling for the rice and queues, it will breed corruption, and it will eventually be hoarded out because government workers who have access to it will take it to the market and probably rebag it and sell at N21,000. |
Ambode is a big fool! Is Nigeria now a socialist or communist state where people queue for food and government fixes the price of food? Why not allow private individuals take up the initiative and control the transport and distribution of the rice so that it can be done more efficiently? How can a governor that went to school and supposedly finished with a first class, allow people to start queuing for food in the 21st century! Anybody that went to school knows what happens in communist countries that practise this kind if state controlled food distribution. Only the government workers, members of the politiburo and the elite will have access to that rice. This is shameful coming from a first class graduate of UNILAG. University education in Nigeria is wack after all. |
This piece is just hilarious! This should be Topic of the year! OP dissected the budget with plenty of satire and pun. Tuale to the OP. |
All those borrow pose, heartless people in Lekki and Ikoyi. After using all their money to show off and buy Prado and murano, common N30,000 monthly salary for gateman and maid becomes a problem. I've heard countless stories of how these people treat their domestic workers. And they expect those people to continue working like Jackie. |
And to think Bukola Saraki was a two term governor just like Ibori. To think ibori laundered delta state money and bought houses in the UK just like Saraki. To think Ibori used his wife's name to acquire most of the houses in the UK just like Saraki. And to think this guy spent years in prison unlike Saraki. As far as I'm concerned, he was just unlucky, unlike Saraki. Welcome home James, you were/are a thief but Nigerian is currently run by thieves just like you. Feel free to mingle. You'll be in good company. |
OP is a JJC or an SU. OP has no idea how to manipulate his wife emotionally. If you allow your wife to start dictating things like this to you, you're finished. Next time you're supposed to have sex, just pretend like you didn't remember and act normal. When she asks if you forgot just smile and say ur not in the mood. Do this repeatedly till she gets suspicious and jealous. She'll be the to ask for sex after this. And please OP never allow a woman dictate things like this to you. I'm even very embarrassed on your behalf. Stricker321 |
smarty562:This here is the reason why Nigeria will always and forever remain the way it is today. When people see wrong and just overlook because they don't want to be seen as bad people. When you see a murderer and a thief celebrating, you congratulate him. With people like you, Nigeria will never change. |
After killing other peoples children because of selfish ambition, you have the guts to come out here and "celebrate love" in our faces. Where's the love for those people that were killed because of Wike's selfishness during the 2015 general elections? I wish wike, his wife and his entire family the same virtues they've wished the people of rivers state. I wish them the same violence they've inflicted on Rivers. I wish them blood the same way blood has been flowing in Rivers. I wish and pray people gather together and plot their death the same way Wike called people and threatened to kill them. Its stupid to be dropping goodwill messages for somebody that doesn't wish you well. If I see any nairalander drop any goodwill message here I will vex. You can't wish a murderer and a thief goodwill except you yourself are a murderer and a thief. |
Reno is absolutely right. Buhari is a disgrace. He has refused to put his foot down and take major decisions. He has continued to accommodate the evil and corrupt tendencies of his chief if staff and the DG SSS. We cannot continue defending the Indefensible. I also blame the VP for all this commotion. In a case where the head of a security agency and the chief of staff to the President are leading the President and the country astray and feeding him with bad info, it behoves on the VP to sit up and assert his claimed uprightness. We can't have a docile VP in this kind of situation. |
For like the 20th time, Kemi Adeosun is not responsible for the economy in any way. The CBN is in charge of monetary policy which has been shambolic this year. The Ministry of budget and planning is responsible for budget formulation and progress monitoring. Is also responsible for planning budget projections and fiscal policy direction and implementation. All these have been shambolic this year. The ministry of finance as we know it today is responsible just for disbursement of funds to the various ministries and tracking the disbursement. Also responsible for the customs and FIRS. Nothing more. If you're looking for scape goats for the economic turmoil this year, look in the direction of Udoma and Emefiele, in charge of Fiscal and monetary policy respectively. Kemi has done an excellent job tracking money release and disbursement and removing leakages. She set up the E-unit to reduce waste at the Federal level. She organised the budget support facility to help states pay salaries and improve accountability at the state level. Anyone calling for her removal is just ignorant and probably an illiterate that doesn't know the functions of the ministry she superintends. |
I think its time for people with credibility and integrity like the NSA DG and the Vice President to speak up and stand up for the truth before Buhari's foolishness swallows us all. The events of the past few months have shown us that Buhari is not in charge of the country. His wife has said it, Sahara reporters has been saying it and now Magu's travails have confirmed it. Buhari is not in charge! It's either we have a president who is naturally docile and aloof, or dementia from old age is kicking in. The way things are now, we have Lawal daura and Abba Kyari as the two presidents of Nigeria. If Yemi Osinbajo allows the chief of staff and the DSS DG to select a new chairman for the EFCC over his head, then it means he is just a ceremonial VP. He has to stand up now and assert the authority his office carries. The DSS DG or the chief of staff to the President are not bigger than the Vice President. |
I have no idea what we were thinking when we brought a 74 year old man to rule over a country of 120 million people. The man is clearly oblivious about whats going on around him. His aloofness is even a national security threat because criminals and armed robbers like Kyari and Lawal Daura are taking advantage of the Incompetence of the commander in chief to perpetuate all kinds of illegalities. If the Directorate of State Security can lie to the Senate with fraudulent claims about the integrity of the EFCC boss just for dirty criminal reasons, it means Nigeria is now in the hands of criminals. Buhari has lost control. If a criminal like Saraki can accuse an appointee of the President of corruption, it means the country is in danger mode. God help is all! |
So Sahara reporters was right all this while and I've been there wasting my energy defending Buhari online when the man himself is clueless as to what is going on around him. So Buhari just takes orders from Kyari and Lawal Daura. Its just shameful and pitiful. So sahara reporters was also probably right about Danbazzau and Buratai trying to suppress the arms probe panel report using Kyari and Lawal daura. I just hope they don't end up harming Magu because that guy is a dogged fighter. Today I take back all the mean words I used against anti Buhari people, you guys were right after all. |
This thing is very simple. They want him to compromise his stance on some corruption cases before they confirm him. That's the reason for closed or secret screening. Magu has refused hence their refusal to confirm him. I suspect they will they get the SSS DG to create a fictional security report on him and eventually remove him as EFCC head. You can't step on toes in Nigeria and have friends. In fact the more friends you have as a politician or political office holder in Nigeria, the more compromised you are. The fewer friends, the stronger your principles. I suspect Magu will be eventually kicked out, except he compromises and backs down like those criminals in the Senate want. |
INTROVERT:Your ignorance is irritating. Ekweremadu was never dragged before the CCB in the first place. Saraki was the only one the CCB was prosecuting. His case is still before the CCB but dragging on because the defence team keeps pushing for amendments. Ekweremadu and Saraki were dragged before the Federal high court for a separate charge of forgery. The charges were withdrawn for proper investigation to be conducted. They will soon be charged again. |
INTROVERT:How did he let Saraki scale through? You should ask the chairman of the CCT why he's so tolerant of the delay antics of saraki's defence team. The EFCC investigation into the Saraki's has been presented to the CCT. |
Ojiofor:Oga if you have details of Tinubu's theft, feel free to post here. What's my business with Tinubu? I just wrote what I observed about some people and you're coming to rant about someone that is not my business. Dem send u come ni? |
Ojiofor:I have nothing to say about this stupid postulation. Go and rant about Tinubu. Not my business. Just detailed my observations about FFK and Saraki. |
There is something eeriely similar between Femi Fani Kayode and Bukola Saraki. Both of them were born into affluent families. Both had fathers who were part of Nigeria's corrupt elite in the 60's and the 70's. Both have been brought up to think that Nigeria's money is their money. Their parents used government money to subsidise their lives. Anybody that tries to deprive them of that luxury of Nigeria's resources is an enemy. They genuinely believe Nigeria's money is their money because that is how they were raised. Ayodele Fayose behaves the same way but the difference in his case is that he was born poor. Fani Kayode genuinely believes Buhari is the enemy because Buhari is depriving him of the luxury his father made him believe was his, Nigeria's resources. People like this need a completely refined process of psychological reset for them to be productive in society. |
tafrica:You must know by now that I abhour beer parlour gist. If you don't have evidence to back your point, shut up! Please when did Ambode raise any allegation on Fashola? The Lagos state government only released details of past contracts under the precious administration. Everything was uploaded on the website of the state government. People picked on the borehole and website contracts and talked about it. Nobody petitioned the EFCC. Please again let me reiterate, if the cost of that borehole is still itching you petition the EFCC. On Buratai, what exactly is your issue? That Buratai bought a flat in Dubai or that the Army spokesperson said the COAS declared the flat in his Asset declaration form as procedurally required? |
Association of criminals and crooks. Dickson probably wants to get the format for transferring billions of naira in airplanes from Fayose. I hope Dickson is following biodun agbele's case in court and I hope he knows you can't get away with money laundering. |
The only thing that thief called Saraki has to offer those ASUU delegates is brown envelope. That guy is empty and has the sickness of grandeur in his veins. I can't wait for the CCT to convict that criminal. |
tafrica:Firstly, it was only last week that the members of the Ekiti state house of assembly submitted their petition against Fayemi to the EFCC. I can't remember anybody publicly submitting any petition against Fashola, except you did? If you did please follow up with the EFCC. If you didn't and you don't know anyone who did, please shut up. All I see is beer parlor gist about a N70 million borehole. Wike's petition against Ameachi is nothing but bollocks. I jqve read the white paper of the panel Wike set up to probe Amaechi. Baseless! No merit! The EFCC shouldn't even bother with it. We both know who the criminal and bribe giver is between Amaechi and Wike. The Nigerian Army and the CCB came out to publicly acknowledge that Buratai declared his Dubai mansion. Buratai is not even an APC member. Who the hell is sylva in the scheme of things. Buhari will ask the EFCC to mellow on sylva and then hit Saraki? Sylva's case was thrown out because the EFCC wanted to withdraw the charges and then amend and file in another court. The judge thought it was reckless and threw the entire case out. That's what happened! https://www.google.com.ng/amp/s/amp.pulse.ng/local/timipre-sylva-court-throws-out-fraud-charges-against-ex-gov-says-efcc-is-desperate-and-bias-id4397921.html?client=ms-android-tecno All this "saved by the broom" nonsense that people keep peddling holds no water under Buhari. Buhari will not ask the EFCC to stand down from probing anyone. Osinbanjo will not. Magu himself will not. Who then will? |
tafrica:Ask Joshua Dariye if the EFCC mellowed on his corruption case after he defected to the APC. Or ask Muiz Banire if the EFCC asked for his APC membership card before interrogating him for bribing judges. Then you can also ask Bukola Sariki if Justice Umar of the CCT asked for his political party before slamming him in the dock for false declaration of assets. While youre at it, ask bowale Adeniyi, the wife of Justice Ademola Adeniyi and the head of service of Lagos and a close ally of Tinubu, if the Ministry of Justice asked for her APC membership card before filing corruptiin charges against her. Who the hell is Kalu to think that APC membership automatically absolves him of his past misdeeds? He must be clowning around. |
