Aphrodite007: Hi guys,
My husband (brit) wants to invite&sponsor my brother over for the holidays for two weeks. I told him to use his salary account so that they will see his salary entering, then he can move like £2k from his savings to the salary account for my brothers trip. But I’m worried about two things:
-hubby has an overdraft, is that a red flag?
-my bro’s account isn’t buoyant. I do send him money and will start sending him double (£200 monthly) from next month to beef his account. I’m worried that they will say it’s not enough, even though he is being sponsored. I want him to apply in Nov/Dec.
Also must he apply for a 6 month visa? Can’t he apply for 1 year so that the visa will allow him come back to the Uk in July for the summer.
Bro isn’t working (just doing small contracts for the govt) so no strong ties to Nigeria.
Should I be worried?
I need you peoples experiences on inviting your families here, that’s why I’m not asking in the uk visit group. I’ll still go there to find out all the docs my bro will need.
Thanks Your brother will have to explain the source of his income even if he earns the minimum wage and also state how much he receives in support from you or others. Why does your husband want to move money from his savings since the money is going to be used to buy tickets and other expenses? He could as well get two statements from his bank showing income and savings. There is nothing that stops him from applying for a longer term visa (2 years I believe is the next available one). |

Making the Npower beneficiaries permanent will be a big and expensive mistake given the number of beneficiaries and the current size of the government which needs to shed some weight. It will also defeat the aim of the program which is to enable fresh graduates and non graduates to gain valuable work experience that can help them gain employment. |

Trust me the company knows what it is doing. It is a marketing strategy to expand into new markets by partnering with strategic players in those markets. Simply put, they are looking for new consumers for their product. |

wonlasewonimi: I know there are odd cases like that...but you can't just be buying Honda and Toyota as if they are the only reliable cars. My BMW was recalled because they realised there was a factory defect and they sorted it. If you're buying a small car like that the resell value should be zilch. True, I wanted a Honda but didn't find one and they are not the most popular brand here. I got a Renault instead. Peugeots are good too and uite popular. Mamatukwas: In my case very short A to B sef. School runs mostly. In that case, buy any suitable car. Ford focus is another rugged car you can check out. Be mindful of the road tax. There is no need paying over the top road tax. |

wonlasewonimi: This is just naija mentality... If you do your due diligence before buying any car and with regular maintenance, mot et al, the car will last. Is it not to get from A to B? Recently while looking for a car, I saw one with low mileage and looked decent but a look at the MOT records showed that it had a particular issue over several years. It'd get fixed and have the same issue at the the next MOT. And I believe it was a Vauxuall or Skoda. Some models have reliability issues. Also, the resell value is not there. |

I recently saw a flight that has 2 changes at Amsterdam and Paris and it was clearly stated that you need a transit visa. (It may be that you would have to change airports in Paris). |

No body is derailing the thread. Na only god go help you. I'm already here and you are not so better humble yourself. Yipee! |

Babyvet: . Aunty please nah. Your right, I don’t think nursing is a prestigious job either. I work along side doctors everyday and I’m happy that I’m not a medical doctor. Although it’s a high paying job and is considered prestigious job, it’s also very high stress , long working hours and lots of liability. School is very very expensive , long and hard. Precerptopn is key. And some may call me ajebutter, I can’t do a job that I hate just for the money. yes they have state fairs, but Maryland is boring place. Good to raise your family but if your young, its not the most vibrant place. Like i said in my previous, I would like to move somewhere else, was thinking about Texas but then changed my mind, heard to many mixed reviews. I want to start visiting other countries as well. One of the perks of my job is that If I schedule my self well, I don't need to put in vacation time to get time off. I just asked a simple question, your the one making rude comments saying it must be that time of the month. Lol at the emoji kiss . I’m not insulting people, I’m just asking a question, if they feel insulted, then that’s they’re problem. Toughen up. Your right I will, anyways the original op of this post , should post more frequently . |

olujastro: Your post was interesting until I read... "Guy, God don do am for you, no come back this country again". Is that your plan, to not return on a visit visa? That'll be bad of you. It'll make it harder for other Nigerians to obtain visit visas to schengen. In addition, Schengen is not the US, no hiding place in schengen. You better not try it. They'll find you and ban you for ten years.
I recommend you visit Budapest, Hungary if you have time. I was there two weeks ago. It's about 2.5hrs by bus from Vienna. You'll fall in love with it. I preferred it to Vienna by far. It's built for tourism, super cheap and the Hungarian forint is like the naira. Enjoy Come on, he was just narrating what someone told him. No where in his write up did he suggest or appear to suggest that he isn't coming back. Your tone was unnecessary. |

claremont: Spot on. I have an extreme OCD against the use of 'your' instead of 'you are/you're'. I would like to believe that mobile devices is to blame, rather than education. I would have thought with the dictionary and auto correct functions, mobile devices make typing easier and better. I would think it's more difficult with a laptop. But I was just trying to draw his/her attention to it just in case he/she wasn't aware they were using "your" in place of "you're". |

Babyvet: First, if your educated, your school system has failed you because basic reading and comprehension you lack. Me and backfornow were talking about correctional officers and you were talking about a probation officer. Both jobs have different requirement, job descriptions and pay. I never stated people of various degrees should be paid the same. I do not prefer 10 or 12 job and I do not earn such pay. Nobody is saying that anyone should come to this country to earn minimum wage or little more than that. No you stop posting false salaries and learn how the American system works and know the difference before gross income and take home. Better be careful, not everything that glitters is gold. Please can you use the correct word (You are)? I noticed you have used it at least 3 times in 3 posts already, it makes reading a bit difficult. Thanks. |

I don't aregee that millions of Americans have $1M and above income bracket. That sounds like exaggerating.
I think you meant to say of thousands have networth (stocks, bonds, assets and cash in banks) of up to $1M and above.
Millions of Americans having $1M income brackets? . If that is that case, the Republican tax overhaul/ tax break for the 1% would be showing effects of economic collapse already knowing how greedy Wall St people are. America has about 10.8 Million millionaires. But being a millionaire is different from earning a million annually. There are more millionaires than ever in the United States.
As of the end of 2016, there were a record 10.8 million millionaires nationwide, according to a new study from Spectrem Group's Market Insights Report 2017. That's more than ever before and marks a 400,000 person increase from the previous year. https://www.cnbc.com/2017/03/24/a-record-number-of-americans-are-now-millionaires-new-study-shows.html |

I am sure your husband would find a job in his line of work or other. All it would take would be the forms filling and Internet searches.
Justwise is an advocate for Gumtree lettings, one's you do your due diligence, you would just be fine...... chairman, do people actually live in Derby and work in London? It's too far now. All the savings will go on transportation. |

Romance › Re: She’s A Terrible Cook And Frowns Too Much by dustydee: 7:56am On Jul 09, 2018 |
Madlov3: Hi! For the sake of anonymity, i decided to use this new account.
I met this girl last December, but we officially started dating in January, I love her and I think she loves me too.Everything is going so well and all things been equal, i may pop the question next year December. The problem started when I told her to come spend last weekend with me and honestly I regretted that.
After going to pick her on friday evening, i told her there’s isn’t food at home and that i was thinking of cooking spaghetti. Getting home, it occurred to me that i have never tasted her food so I decided to let her do the cooking.(NB:I cook! like am a very good cook) so after some minutes in the kitchen, she signaled me to come eat but damn!the food was a colossal disaster! It was so overcooked and tasteless. I was not happy that evening and I complained about it. The next day was a Saturday! She prepared yam and veggies but that was another disaster, the yam was salty and the veggies were also so overcooked. They were no longer greenies but brown.
Another thing i also noticed about her is is throughout our 3 days together, she was always moody! I really don’t think it’s because of the food disaster because my complain lasted for just some minutes.Am still trying to figure out why someone will choose to be moody and sad for no tangible reason. Last weekend with her was a depressing one for me and right now, am seriously rethinking popping the Question next year because i don’t want to be an unhappy married man. I really don’t know what to do There are different options: 1. Since you are a good cook, take charge of the cooking 2. You can teach her how to cook. Her bad cooking may have been responsible for her mood. Correct her lovingly and give her tips. You can also buy her cook books. |

fatima04: Guys I really feel I should make a complaint officially asides Google review. I am open to suggestions sha on how to ensure this doesn't happen again or to anyone else.
So after my stressful week and all, I struggled to go to the GP before close of business yesterday and presented my BRP and passport and did not bother with proof of house residence since they have that. After several meeting inside and all na so they come reject my BRP oo that they need something that specifically says I am a permanent resident in the country, and they can't register me because of that.
I then asked for the speficic document needed, it must sha have a name and if they specify I can know what they want from me but she kept saying it can be anything just something to say I am based here, at this point I was getting irritated and frustrated and trying not to loose my cool and she said they can't register me and they assumed I was going to bring something that specifically says I am a permanent residence hence the assurance of getting it resolved quickly.
The part that got me angry was when she said they can't register me and if I really needed it I can easily go to another GP that there are others just outside the door and if not I should wait till Monday for their patient manager to decide if they can accept the BRP.
In all this banter I showed them that my son who is affected with the same issue already has his NHS number and asked why they never sent any letter to request for him to prove his resident status before deactivating him.
After all is said and done, I left there and decided to register with the next door GP who later discovered that I was not even registered with them in the first place so was never issued a number but somehow somehow my son's own was approved while mine was disapproved and he was not born here oo.
Also, I probably won't even realise this problem if I had not called them and I agree with oga lexusg430 that there incompetence even did not allow them help or offer a solution, they just acted like the usual naija "government" workers.
So I am thinking I should either send an email to UKVI stating that I was denied health registration and access because of my BRP after paying health surcharge for 3yrs advance oo and maybe NHS as well. Too much or too little This is so wrong. And to think you paid IHS. Please take it up and don't just let it go. I suggest you go back and ask for official line of complaint and also send a mail to your MP explaining all that happened. |
