A Nigerian man has taken to the microblogging platform, X, to share a controversial take about career women and housewives.

According to the X user @OsasuYwie, a woman who is happy to stay at home to cook and clean for her husband is better than one who chases her career.

In his defense, he argued that women who prioritize their careers often end up being more ‘masculine’ than more domesticated women.

Acidic foods-citrus fruits, sports drinks, tomatoes, soda (both diet and regular)-can soften tooth enamel "like wet sandstone," says Howard R. Gamble, immediate past president of the Academy of General Dentistry. Brushing your teeth at this stage can speed up acid's effect on your enamel and erode the layer underneath. Gamble suggests waiting 30 to 60 minutes before brushing.

A disturbed young man has taken to social media to lament his marital plight as he contemplates getting a divorce.

The individual in question expressed his difficulties maintaining harmony in his home in an anonymous email sent to a relationship counsellor.

According to his narration, his wife agreed to marry him with the condition that his mother would live with them.

However, his wife turned his mother into her worst adversary by accusing her of being a witch, even after they moved his mother to another apartment.

A Nigerian lady who identifies as @Abidoye_Zainab has shared what a man, whom she refused to marry, did to her.

Narrating the account on the microblogging platform X, formerly known as Twitter, she mentioned that the man sent her a wedding video of himself and his wife.

According to her, the lady he married looked exactly like her, in complexion and shape. Though his actions hurt her, she said she does not regret her decision.

She wrote;

The House of Representatives has urged the Federal Government to urgently address the fallout of the tragic fire incident that gutted the Ladipo plank market in Amukoko, Lagos.

The resolution followed the adoption of a motion of urgent public importance by Rep. Kalejaye Adebayo (APC-Lagos) during plenary in Abuja.

in his motion, he said the inferno resulted in the severe destruction of 351 shops, affecting approximately 1,000 traders.

He added that the tragic incident had left the affected traders and artisans in a state of distress and despair.

He said the market was not limited to the sale of planks but it also accommodated artisans such as tailors, fashion designers, and printers.

Adopting the motion, the house directed all appropriate emergency relief agencies of government to act and provide succor for the affected traders and residents.

The house also directed the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian services to provide adequate financial support to the affected markets and traders.
Also, the house directed the National Emergency Management Authority to provide emergency relief materials to the people.(NAN)

Nigerian chef and restaurateur, Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, has finally spoken out after losing the Guinness World Record to an Irish chef.

It was earlier reported that the Irish Chef, Alan Fisher, surpassed Hilda’s record to become the new holder of the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

Alan achieved a total cooking time of 119 hours and 57 minutes, which is over 24 hours longer than Hilda’s previous record of 93 hours and 11 minutes.

A Nigerian man has been left stranded and facing possible deportation after his wife took their kids and abandoned him at an airport in the UK.

A user with the handle @Jayydubby shared the man’s plight on the ‘Nigerians in the UK’ community on the microblogging platform, X (formerly Twitter).

According to the user, the man sold all his belongings to sponsor his wife’s relocation to the UK for study in 2022, with the intention of joining her later with their children as her dependents.

Upon their arrival in the UK in October, he received a huge shock when his wife took the kids and their passports, and told him that their marriage was over.

Sadly, the young man now finds himself stranded without a job or means to stay in the UK. He has been given until January 2024 to leave the country, or he will be deported.

“Hello everyone,

A family friend of mine is in urgent need of a job with sponsorship. Last month, he arrived in the UK with his children as dependents and his wife went to pick them up at the airport and asked to see their children’s passports, which he handed over without any suspicion. She then told him that their marriage was over and wanted nothing to do with him. She took their children and abandoned him at the airport. He just come to the UK for the first time to join his wife, who came last year to study. He helped pay her fees and sold off everything he had to join her.

Today, the Home Office sent him a letter saying that he has until 1st of January, to return to Nigeria. He has nothing to go back to and may never see his children again.

I am pleading with anyone who can help him with a job referral so that he can stay and fight for his children. If you know of any job openings or can put him in touch with someone who might be able to help, please reach out to me. I would be incredibly grateful. 🙏🏼😥”

President Bola Tinubu’s administration has announced plans to spend N5.095 billion on a presidential yacht, despite outcries to cut the outrageous costs of running government.

Other items in the budget proposal from the Nigerian Navy include; the purchase of vehicles, construction of the naval base in Lekki and Epe, provision of critical equipment, and purchase of ammunition.

Many Nigerians say Tinubu’s administration lost a perfect opportunity to curb government excesses like the outrageous spending on exotic cars, selling off several planes in the presidential fleet, and pruning down wasteful government expenditures and inflated budgets that are not grounded in reality.

“A broke and unproductive country is buying a presidential yacht and cars worth billions for the first woman and NASS?” Tunde Martins said on X .
