Olusegun Aganga, a former minister of finance, has issued a warning that the country’s reliance on imports will result in the naira’s continued depreciation. Aganga stated that Nigeria needs to create for both internal consumption and export in order to have a strong naira during the 51st annual general meeting of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria on Thursday.

Following President Tinubu’s exchange reforms, the local currency depreciated from around 450 to 760/dollar on the parallel market on Thursday.
However, Aganga questioned the wisdom of spending billions on defending the currency while it continues to depreciate, rather than investing in producing and exporting high-quality products that would generate more foreign income for Nigeria.

The former Minister urged the government to make the industrial sector a “national priority sector” and support it with strategies, policies, and resources.

He said, “Contrary to the billions of naira spent on subsidies and bailouts, the agri-anchor Borrowers programme, and refineries, I assure you that every single naira that is well-spent on these strategic industrial sectors will be easily recouped and will bring great prosperity to the economy and to the nation,” he said.

There is heavy presence of police officers at the Lekki tollgate in Lagos for the third anniversary of the #EndSARS protest.

The memorial walk was organised to commemorate the tollgate shooting during the nationwide #EndSARS protests of 2020.

On October 20, 2020, security operatives reportedly fired live rounds into a crowd of unarmed young persons who had converged on the tollgate to protest decades of police brutality. The death toll from the incident remains inconclusive and varied, three years later.
At the moment, a plethora of police officers attached to the Lagos police command are at the Lekki tollgate to forestall a breakdown of law and order.

Eight #EndSARS protesters – Segun Adeniyi, Onuorah Odih, Jeremiah Lucky, Gideon Ikwujomah, Irinyemi Olorunwanbe, Quadri Azeez, Olamide Lekan and Sadiq Riliwan – have been detained without trial in Ikoyi Medium Security Correctional Centre in Lagos since 2020.
“All those detained solely for taking part in peaceful #EndSARS protests must be released immediately and unconditionally,” said Isa Sanusi

Former BBNaija participant, Natacha Akide aka Tacha, has continued to drum up support for her junior colleague, Phyna over Davido’s denial of not knowing who she is.

The Nation reported that Tacha had taken to Twitter to show her support for Phyna, who found herself in a heated exchange with Davido.

Davido had mistakenly liked a tweet shading Phyna and had later apologised to her, stating that he didn’t know her.

Jumping to her defence, Tacha assured Phyna that even if Davido doesn’t know her, God knows her and a lot of people know her.

It was earlier reported that the Islamic cleric in a video sermon posted on his official page, slammed the former Rivers governor for receiving the Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria in his office.

At an Israeli music festival, Shani Louk was kidnapped by Palestinian terrorists, who then paraded her through the streets in the back of a pickup vehicle

In a viral video, the Hamas terrorists showed a woman's half-clothed dead body in the back of a pickup truck, with one terrorist even treating the body with disrespect while others jeered. This incident shocked the entire globe with several social media users responded to the video by claiming it gave them chills. According to the reports, the woman in the truck is identified as Shani Louk, a German tourist.

Shani Louk, a German citizen, has been recognized as the woman in the video. Armed militants in Gaza can be seen in the video, which CNN has confirmed, displaying Louk on a vehicle while chanting "Allahu Akbar," which translates to "God is Great." According to The Washington Post, Shani, who had a Polish father, was a dual citizen of Germany and Israel.

She was a tattoo artist, and based on her Instagram profile, it appears that she had been working in Tel Aviv and other cities in Israel. According to Shani's Instagram, she has likely lived in Israel for a while. Shani was in Israel for the Nova music festival. Only six kilometers east of Gaza, the dance music festival was held in a remote farmland area close to the Gaza-Israel border.

Tomasina Weintraub-Louk, Shani's cousin, told the Mail Online that the family was certain it was "definitely Shani" because of her distinctive leg tattoos and dreadlocks. Ricarda, her mother, claimed to have seen footage of Shani "unconscious in a car" after being kidnapped.
