Something needs to be done about Nigeria party system. It is not really grassroot-driven rather controlled by few elites who masquerades as representative of grassroots. They call the shots within the party and own the whole party structure. That doesn't allow proper representation. It is not fair to serve as member of House of reps for years, governor of the state for 8 years and now again senator representing a section of the whole you have governed before. I don't understand, is he the only best in Bayelsa West? Is he truly the people's choice?

Me thinks that the South East always plays itself, politics is a thing if interest and not sentiment, Goodluck Jonathan lost with PDP but the south south is still not sentimentally attached to the party, they go for what pushes their interest hence, APC almost winning Bayelsa.

But in the East, the Party is termed the devils party, its termed evil, yet its the rulling party, which unlike the endearing PDP has done alot of project, there.

If PDP is not giving the South East ticket, i feel they should also spread and gain ground in APC, so that they have more option, rather than just one.

Buhari has failed no doubt, but the RunOff elections have shown that people will still vote for APC, wont it be ideal for the East to also find ways of gaining grounds there do as to enjoy both through APC or PDP or wherever the power goes in 2023

Based on unfolding reality it is not a bad thought. But the danger is that the country will slide into a one party system if care is not taken. I still think strong opposition should be encouraged as part of democracy, to keep the ruling party in checks. It will be a bad omen to the nation that the only realistic chance you have to lead a country is only when you align with ruling party. That's not how Buhari came to power!

So nobody can freely tell Buhari to his face that his keeping these military men in service after their retirement age, is destructive.

Yes, I agree. Unfortunately, today's two main political parties don't have the capability and will to put a "serious president". After all, both parties are the same with zero ideology to pull Nigeria out of its present predicament. We kind of running a pseudo one party system.

Peter obi is one person that will put this country back on the path of progress but Nigerians will rather vote someone with no viable experience and knowledge on how to run the country just because he is from my place/tribe/ religion, as if that will spare you from difficulties when things get bad. As a country man, you are one billion times likely to benefit from government policies from a good leader than just the mere fact that he is from my place. sentiments is allowed in voting if a particular politician is directly related to you by blood/relationship. if this is not the case, do the right thing.

The North would hardly raise a finger against the current president, regardless of his shortcomings of which they suffered most. They are so obsessed with power remaining in the North, that to ask Buhari to give way for another person to lead, is like taking their breath away...even if the person is a northerner.
