For Nigeria, if we don't do the needful ASAP we will loss both the bed and home.

The characters quoted by the author didn't walk the talks for One Nigeria.

I wish we were like developed countries but the truth is that South Africa is also struggling. We barely have enough capacity to deal with our own crimes, it's unreasonable for everyone to just say we must get the police. WHy must we as Africans always be policed? Can't we just behave out of the goodness of our hearts? ANd I think that's also a point that we as South Africans make. Why is it necessary for us to use our funds to provide police while everyone from outside just comes in and does whatever. It's not fair. As much as we should work on our security, our brothers must also not break laws. How would Nigerians feel if you are struggling with boko Haram, your own crime and then South African gangsters decide to make Lagos their playground? It wouldn't be fair on your already struggling security system.

This is a two-way thing. More police means more taxes. AT the end of the day it's the South Africans who will pay to beef up security while everyone just tells us: "We can do whatever illegal things, just get more/better police". DO you think that is pan-Africanism?

Where is the love when people cross the border to murder and steal and then cross back to sell their goods? As much as South Africans need to respect other Africans, other Africans should also respect us. it's only fair.
Pardon me, I haven't visited SA, so have based my thoughts on it being a top developing country based on media, and maybe you haven't visited Nigeria too and would rely on media as well.

But as society advances so are the challenges, of which crime is one. You can't by fiat extract good behaviour from people, not even in hamlets/villages, you'll still find deviants. That's why the law is there, and that's why agencies are created to enforce these laws. I don't see why it is so hard to get these agencies to task. If SA community felt uncomfortable about certain behaviour of someone or groups, you know them and that's why you went to certain hoods during xenophobic attack. Get the law working on them, unless the police are corrupt and unreliable. I personally hate crime, but I won't go about and start killing foreigners randomly because some of them failed to behave.

In Lagos, all nationalities can be possibly be represented in different proportions. A lot of West African neighbours- Benin, Togo, Cameron, Niger, Chad are all there doing there things. You know what, we don't go around hanging everybody on the neck if very few cross the red line. Simply, if you are caught, you pay for it whether Lebanese, Chinese, Indians, etc. And these have all been caught in crimes and jailed. And all these nationalities compete for jobs in Lagos. Indians and Lebanese do sell stationaries for offices in VI. May be we would have asked them to go, and let Nigerians only do the job? Benonese and Togolese, also compete with Nigerians on carpentry, tiling, painting, Mason, beauty salon, herbs, house boy and house maid, restaurant, etc. Chadians and Nigeriens sell on kiosks, gate men, herdsmen, ride OKada, just like other Nigerians. And we let them be and patronise them as well as we will to Nigerians. And a lot of them don't have immigration documents. Perhaps one of the reasons Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen banditry festered. Don't forget that Nigerians are also in these countries as well. However whoever goes rouge is not spared when caught. And these rouge ones can't succeed in their nefarious activities without the aid and support of locals.

So unless there is sth else, I would expect similarity from SA, but No. It cost a lot to police the community and we don't trust police. Okay, is killing all Nigerians because of a few bad ones the most sensible thing to have been done, no it isn't. I felt the anger is beyond crime alone. There must be sth else.

Yes you are absolutely right and we are addressing the issue of mob justice. I think you can agree that mob justice is not only found in South Africa but nevertheless, we are condemning it. At the same time, the group of protesters clearly decided to take the diplomatic route by approaching the Nigerian representatives with a list of their demands. They are seeking that our African governments also take responsibility for the criminal activities of some of their people.

As I recall, when attacks broke out,the rest of Africa asked why they didn't go about their issues in a more diplomatic way. Well now they have and they are trying to involve other African leaders to solve the problem but when it comes to the lives of their citizens, generally African leaders couldn't care less.
It is good and more respectful move if you ask me, assuming the motive is well intended. Now certain country or countries have been singled out for this purpose. Perhaps they are the worst in SA's assessment.

But I would still think that SA community should get across to local law enforcement agencies and report whoever is breaking the law of the land regardless of nationality. I don't like people coming to someone else land and breaking the law. It's not good. But it's equally sad when the local citizens starts generalising and destroying everything including life, just to send a message.

Tell the law officers, and they'll will bring them to justice one-by-one. That's how it's done in Western world. It doesnt matter how long it takes, they will bring them down.
PoliticsRe: Angry South Africans Hand Over List Of Demands To Nigeria's SA Ambassador (PICS) by EagleNest(m): 8:23am On Sep 24, 2020
I don't see any cogent reason for the hateful banters.
There is law in SA, why not enforce it thru legitimate means. Why xenophobic attack on Nigerians and Zimbabweans? Very uncivil act if you ask me.

If you don't like any dubious character in your community, regardless of nationality, just report the person to law enforcement unit and follow up the case to the end. That's how it's done in civilized world.

Dont go and repeat same mistake of blanket killings and mob actions in the name of hate or rivalry or whatever.

It is your community, monitor the bad ones, get them arrested, prosecute and jail them.

Christistruth00:
Ghana is regreting executing the Generals that Rawlings killed because they have long since discovered that the Politicians in Rawlings party were far more corrupt than the men he executed in 1979 Coup.

Jerry Rawlings is very careful to avoid the Children of the executed Generals (the daughter of one of the dead Generals confronted him in a Church in Chicago while he was Preaching about Family )

They are still till today demanding justice for their fathers who were executed without any trial .

It was discovered that one of the Generals who was Ghana's Chief of Army (Gen Oposu Wellington) who surrendered during the Coup but was still shot dead did not even have a Personal house of his own and lived in the Barracks while the Politicians in Rawlings party including Rawlings Wife later owned many mansions.

Jerry Rawlings has spent the last 20 years explaining to their families and supporters that he was against their execution but the Soldiers and Ghanaians wanted blood which has also proven to be not completely true Ghanaians wanted good Govt and food in their bellies.
Yes, jungle justice is unacceptable and often regrettable. Was it a civilian government that Jerry overthrown or military one?

Ghana should be one of the tolerant countries accepting Nigerians uncultured behavior

Modified

Why do Nigerians like to claim victims when they are indeed the culprits.

Are Nigerians the only foreigners doing business in Ghana?

Is the imaginary $1m tax applicable only to Nigerians?

Have you guys even bother to ask the worth of their investment before Ghanaian authority will demand $1m tax?.

Nonsense undecided
I smelt hidden prejudice in your post. Carefully conceited 'finger pointing'. You couldn't see that Ghana is hostile to your government, but blame the traders for all the problems.

Nobody is absolving the leaders of any blame brother, the point is the leaders and people are cut from same fabric, they are same people, so what do u expect to be different? Do we get a British to rule us? It is still Nigerians that will rule us.

BTW, you really have to correct a very false impression "Brain is needed to do fraud" please you should stop that silly talk, it's just like saying you need brain to go and rob somewhere. If it really needed brain, it wouldn't be as attractive as it is, with how intellectually docile we could be.
I beg your pardon on 2nd paragraph, what do you mean by the word 'silly talk'. What do you know about 'fraud'? Is it fools that plans and execute fraud in your mind? If you don't agree about sth, go ahead and disagree but don't brand it silly talk. If it is not attractive, then why complain about our image?

As you make your bed so will you lie on it.

What moral value or legacy do we hold as a nation? zero! The same generation that brought Nigeria to its knees are still in power doing more damage. If you have zero values or legacy to pass on to next generation then what do u expect of them?

Don't get me wrong. I'm not giving excuses but I don't agree with line of argument that leaders should be absolved. Our hope for economic emancipation and security in Nigeria has been destroyed and it comes with consequences(the bad image of today's Nigeria). If those brains used to commit fraud and all sorts of evils daily were Channelled to sth useful then we won't have such a sorry state. It will get worst if we refuse to thinker with status quo!
