Can you rest a bit on Igbos matters. When COVID-19 death comes proper, whoever fails to adhere to lock down rule will pay for it. |
Omooba77:The difference is clear! At the end we forgot that we are human beings and not anything extraordinary. |
Nearly all world media have leanings unfortunately. Only few always strive to balance news even though it is not that easy. |
oyoirabor:On point! We often dissipate enormous energy on frivolities like 'where did u come from' while the country as a whole continues to bleed. |
Yes, why not. Any positive change is welcomed. Even though it is a mere change of label, I would think changing the content itself would have been more befeneficial. Below countries changed their names to something local to delete colonial footprints: Rhodesia changed to Zimbabwe Gold Coast changed to Ghana Ivory Coast changed to Cote d'Ivore Some India big cities like Bombay, Madrass, etc was changed to local names - Mumbai, Chennai, etc. |
Same dirty hands with wicked souls still doing what they know best, Stealing! Let Nigeria go regional even if trial run only. |
How did all these people not understand what is lock down or stay-at-home order. How come they don't understand what's social distancing. Sorry, I don't get it ![]() |
I agree to your list with no1, no2, no3 and no5 being my take, as our biggest trouble. No1 lead to no2. And no3 cuts across all sphere of our affairs and is atimes inseparable with no2. No5 showed our collective weaknesses as a nation. Politicians and religious leader cunningly take advantage of this and all we do is mourn and do nothing. Few or zero patriots! In addition to your list, I'll add: no7- uncontrolled breeding (population explosion). Not much to say as it is already a recipe for extreme poverty in the North. If we can manage how we breed, it will go a long way to minimize hardship and increase wealth distribution with more opportunities. no8 - Quota System. This system stifles meritocracy and productivity but promotes mediocrity. You already know a good example ![]() I also agree with your solution. It is the only way to get ourselves out of this mess. No need of dragging along hoping one day miracle will happen. Let Nigerians rise and discuss the way forward. |
Don't kill yourself on Igbo matter abeg ooo! Go outside and take some fresh air. |
Why is Pastor Chris so naive like this. He's deeply obsessed by the 5G conspiracy. |
FreelanceRebel:I sensed there is some kind of mis-understanding on what I meant. I meant he doesn't go with fleets such that you hardly know he has it. |
Kaydeexotic:I could have made my question more complete but I didn't mean British PM doesn't have official car, I meant it is few and you hardly know there is one. American POTUS goes with fleets and that's who we copy. For the MPs, I only know about the ones having ministerial or cabinet appointments and probably shadow ministers, as having official car. Even at that, no fleets. |
NairaMaster1:I didn't mean BJ doesn't have official car, what I meant is that it is very few not fleets like our people do copying America. |
But Buhari was granting amnesty to BH instead of punishing them. Perhaps it was a part of his script to grant Northern uprising elements a similar amnesty as Niger Delta militants. But he forgot that you don't use the same stick for cleaning ear to clean eyes. If Chadian Army succeed to crush BH completely, then Buhari and Nigeria Army should be ashamed of themselves. |
Nigeria and religion. Inseparable! |
Both Wike, Buhari and even the guy that was replying with another nonsense are all failures. They shouldn't have been in such political positions they're occupying. |
Israeli Army was as swift as Eagle esp when surrounded by hostile neighbours. |
Too much waste of money buying official cars to all and sundries in government. Have you seen the British PM's official cars? Very few that u hardly notice. The MPs don't even have official cars except those with cabinet portfolios and shadows, and they'll account usage. Why is Nigeria so wasteful? https://www.gov.uk/government/speeches/ministerial-cars-financial-year-2015-to-2016 A bit modification of above to minimise misunderstanding. |
From this story, it's obvious Buhari is not that smart neither is he brilliant. That's why his subordinates often becomes more powerful under his watch. He's repeating the same mistake (blind trust) to Brutai, Kyari, et'al. |
Shameless Nigeria. What is opposition party doing? Keeping quiet because they too are not saints? Such kind of matter could have lead to massive resignations in a functioning system. But Buhari said Abacha is not corrupt ![]() |
Excuzeme:Sorry to disappoint you, I'm not a suffer head neither do the person you mentioned, the one receiving from Canadian govt more exposed than me. No need to say much on that. To your other point, let me make it clearer; Canadians, Americans, Europeans, Australians have always asked questions and demand answers from their leaders and not worshipping them as we do in Africa. They pay tax and enforce laws, and they are reaping from it at this critical time. Where do I start about Nigeria? For me, going to Canada and enjoying all the benefits of living there does not remove the fact of Nigeria being a mess of a country. You don't fix it by coming on social media to show me what you benefit from another country. Even the blind knows. Show me what or how or where you have pushed for something positive to turn Nigeria around. Ask for restructuring, community policing, population control, dis-associate religion from govt, unicameral legislature, or something good to get Nigeria started, some of you will say NO. |
MrSly:You're a citizen of Nigeria, why not go and demand for relief from your government. That's what the Canadians, Americans, Europeans have done and are still doing. Only in Africa that citizens worship their leaders (whether political or religious) without any iota of reasoning, and what do you get but disaster we have today. So let's keep on licking their bum until one day they sell Nigeria and disappear. |
Mr Iykbethany, I'll start by saying, "snake cannot give birth to Chimpanzee but snake". Nature dictates that "Like begets like"! While you are pillorying the unfortunate poor ones today, don't forget that the scale can flip any time and the rich, become poor. What defines a person is character regardless of his/her social status. How do you test or measure these, give him money or position of power or opportunity, like this COVID-19 time, then you'll see. System abuse is ingrained in us whether you're rich or poor. Only few ones are exception. Now you know who to hold? |
youngest85:Exactly! I can't fathom why he's showing us. |
What's the point of the ops! So much love for Igbo matter. Why not take a visit to South East to get yourself refreshed with love. |
How the cockie crumbled. It is not only the Nigerian soldiers that is demoralised even the civilians are not finding this govt's lapses funny. |
When will these unnecessary stone throwing by deluded ethnic jingoist end? They've just ruined this thread. Competition is good, yes, but it has to be healthy and progressive. |
Omooba77:Yes, "That side" is a common enemy so will always receive lots of stones from both sides. |
Unbelievable!!! |
Happy birthday General. I believe a living dog is far more better than a dead lion. Ignore the ignoramus who wasn't in your shoe at the time a dictator (of which you are part of). |
Lock down is the right thing to do. And he should extend it everywhere. COVID-19 is deadly and shouldn't be joked with. |
Omooba77:I guess they never knew it would be this bad but to save face, they have to keep supporting. No one will like to admit his or her mother's soup is bad, regardless of how tasteless. |
