ROTFLMAO!!! Where are all the Farouk defenders? Una don go hide? Una nefer see anything! Otedolla the great! See swag! I love this guy pieces!!! |
@Maj007 I don't get your argument really. What part of the word sting don't you understand? Or are you arguing that security agencies don't setup sting operations? Trying to define giver and taker to us is a bit absurd! I am trying to understand you here, seriously! |
@Maj007 I will give you the benefit of doubt that you haven't been following the saga from the beginning. Otedolla argued from the beginning that he wasn't involved in PMS. He said Farouk didn't listen and still went on to list him with other companies. So he decided to go with a sting operation. Farouk did prove Otedolla right because he listed him, then delisted him using the same reason Otedolla put forward in the first place. Otedolla cannot be prosecuted for giving bribe except Farouk can prove there wasn't any sting operation. But from the facts available, a sting was arranged because there is audio and video evidence. You don't record video except you are doing a sting. Security agencies can arrange with persons to expose a suspect. The argument that farouk should have been arrested on the spot is funny. If you feel the suspect is not the big catch and want to make a really big catch, you allow the suspect go. Its very normal in stings. The argument that you must recover the money before you can prosecute is also funny. Video evidence is enough to mail Farouk. But I believe the security agencies are looking for a bigger catch and that is why the house members are jittery. Every case has its merit. You cannot pronounce Otedolla guilty because of your past perception of him. As far as this case is concerned so far, he is looking like a hero. |
Boboribo: Criminal cases are not easy to prove. Any lawyer will tell you that. If you have 99.9 evidence and .9 doubt, Farouk will be set free. The courts don't work on sentiments. Even if Otedola has 100% proof and cannot establish it IN COURT, Farouk walks free. The 3 key components in a criminal case are hard evidence, witnesses and motive. Of the 3, motive is the hardest to establish and motive is what cements the evidence. But like I said before, Farouk has actually done the whole saga a favour when he became Otedolla's advocate at the floor of the house. That again is cemented by the house hurried session to re-indict Otedolla. It is simply laughable and f00lish. |
Everyone trying to defend Farouk here because they don't like Otedolla is just being silly. The evidence is overwhelming and Farouk himself have aided the evidence against himself. The logic of who initiated the conversation is irrelevant. In fact, if Otedolla wants to execute a sting, he might have to be the one to initiate it. That's why it is called a sting. What is important in court is that he collected bribe, not who initiated it. Now Farouk's main argument would have being that he was trying to also setup/expose Otedolla. But that argument fell flat on its face when he went to the floor of the house and canvassed that Zenon be removed from the list. That was the killer. That was what cemented it as a bribe. That video of him on the floor of the house finished everything. It established motive and that's the key in a law court. The house now cemented Otedolla's argument when they convened and hurriedly put back Otedolla's name again. That in itself is self indictment by the house and also a further indictment of Farouk. You know, to be honest, I have never seen someone of this status fumble the way Farouk has fumbled. It really depicts him as someone with very little intelligence. And the house has just taking the ignorance to a whole new level. On the other hand, Otedolla is looking very rock solid here. He has never changed his statement once and challenging the house to make his appearance public is a deadly blow. A TKO! |
norrisman: Nigerian lawyers must be one of the most inexperienced in the world. Why are they even issuing statements about a recording that is in the public space? That is not what is going to be used as evidence in court. It could be Baba Sala and Samanja conversating on that recording for all you care. The best he should have done was issue a statement saying he is aware of a recording purpoting to be him, that his lawyers are aware and the appropriate authorities have been notified. Chikena! Why all the hullabaloo about where is the beginning, where is the ending? The lawer even asked for a video of a telephone converstaionROTFLMAO! Man, you made my day! "The lawyer even asked for a video of the telephone conversation!" Now that's a classic right there. A quote for all time. |
joi de viv: There's nothing wrong in being gay but there's something wrong in hating, he didnt chose to be who he's, he found himself dancing in a queer lifeThe biggest lie the gay community try to sell is that they didn't choose to be gay. They just found themselves that way. How can you claim you just found yourself that way? You were born with a joystick. How can you say it is natural to use your joystick on another joystick or on a shyte hole? You can tell yourself a lie all you want, it won't make it truth. If the whole world start practising homosexuality, human race would have been extinct by now and families would not exist. |
suniblu: Ve u tried using glo in d east. Nnewi anambra to be precise. I was there for two years. I bought into d glo is best bla bla. Each time I subsceibe glo I throw it out for mtn. But here in lagos glo is way better dan everyother network. Though mtn is better coverage wise. Believe me every network ve areas whr they re strong. Etisalat is worst everywhrI agree with you that every network have areas where they are strong. But MTN's problem is that they claim what they are not and what they don't have. From Ogba to Ojodu berger down to Akute in Ogun state, you can hardly get any stable MTN 3G coverage. Its ridiculous. My brother works for MTN and uses Glo for browsing. Much said! |
What I don't like about Glo is their call center response time. It still takes around 20mins to get thru. And they charge extra for playing videos in Lagos area. I wonder why. They have by far the most secure network. Etisalat has the most open and flexible; they don't even use password for their APN. |
afam4eva: Dude, if there's anything MTN has over all other network, it is coverage.Dude, I don't follow hype. MTN does a lot of hype. I have done two tests personally. One was on a journey from Lagos to Abuja. I had Glo, MTN, Airtel on. MTN went off for around 2hrs and Glo around 45mins the whole journey. Airtel was out around 2hrs 45mins. I did another just recently, Lagos to Asaba. Glo browsing didn't go off once. MTN went of several times during the journey. In Benin, Glo doesn't even buffer youtube videos. It plays like you are playing a video from your memcard. MTN browsing is useless in Benin, ask anyone who lives there. Like I said beforen MTN is just hype and promo. |
The best way to rate it this: Speed: Glo, Etisalat, Airtel, MTN Nationwide BB Coverage: Glo, MTN, Airtel, Etisalat Stability: Airtel, Glo, Etisalat, MTN 3G coverage: Glo, Airtel, Etisalat, MTN Customer Service: MTN, Airtel, Glo, Etisalat Pricing: The Rest, MTN Data bundle: MTN/Glo, Airtel, Etisalat My observation. |
D'Soj:Bro, seriously, this has got to be the worst interpretation of the law I have ever seen. If that was a comprehension test, you just got F9! How can you take a paragraph in the constitution and break the phrases apart and interpret them separately? Amazing! If that was an attempt to wriggle your way out of a logjam, you did a very poor job of it. "any person, authority, ministry or government department charged with the authority for executing laws and …disbursing or administering money appropriated or to be appropriated by the National Assembly”. This is one continuous statement/paragraph, not two. The bolded describes the category of persons that they can summon. (d) issue a warrant to compel the attendance of any person who, after having been summoned to attend, fails, Again, the bolded describes the category of persons. They are those who were earlier summoned based on the first paragraph above. The house does not investigate any case. Hence there will be to police or office of the attorney general. It is empowered to perform oversight function over the executive and itself. That section does not refer to any Nigerian or any case, else it would have clearly said so. You quoted it yourself then went on to twist it. You are a true Naija born! |
Yeske!:Good thing is Otedolla does not think like you. That's why he is richer than you. It is called patience and saving the best for last. You don't play all your cards when the game is just beginning. You keep the aces to your chest. People like you are gossip junkies who just want to "watch the video". This is not about watching videos. This is about winning a court case. One thing some of you don't even ask youselves is, if it is about Otedolla covering his crime, he had already achieved that since the house had already removed his name from the list. So it must be something different. Then if you say it is about killing the subsidy report, then again, the question is, if Farouk collected bribe to delist Otedolla, why not just give him more bribe to remove all the sensitive stuff they want him to remove? You see, it is sad that we keep praying for a miracle for our country to change and when God acts to bring that change, we turn around and fight it. We are our own worst enemies in Nigeria. Fact! |
D'Soj:Ok, fair enough. I apologise. But I do expect educated people posting on a public forum to get some basic facts right. The house of reps cannot prosecute anyone. They are abrogating to themselves the powers of other arms of government. Secondly, they are a party in this saga, so they cannot be the judge and the accused at the same time. Those trying to use the subsidy report conspiracy theory to exonorate Farouk are going to fall flat on their faces. If Farouk is indicted, the report is also indicted. You can't separate them. Do you know why a judge will not accept an evidence from the torture of a suspect? Because the use of torture is illegal. So automatically, any evidence from torture is null and void. That's how the law works. If the house is serious, they will conduct a new probe. A clean one. You can't just call a session, say ayes and nays and add Otedola's company which you once removed with ayes and nays. It is too childish! |
Delafruita: farouk lawan appeared before the house committee and gave evidence to confirm that it was otedola who approached him.he tendered call logs and tet messages which threatened his life.its now left to otedola to appear to either make rubbish of farouk's claim or tender his own evidence.either way,the house of representatives is empowered by law to demand that he appear before them and he is bound to obey else they ask the police to declare him wantedSometimes I wonder if some of you lads ever went to school. The house of reps has no such constitutional powers. Its only the police that he has to answer to. The house of reps can only do fact finding. They cannot usurp the powers of the police force. They are not a law court. They cannot prosecute Otedola. They are making a f00l of themselves. That is why the attorney general called the subsidy probe a fact finding exercise because that is exactly what it is. It has no legal binding on anyone. Security forces can only use it as a pool of information to build a case. It is not in itself an evidence of anything. |
blackky100: PDP cannot win Edo state, Lucky has messed PDP up and given Edo state to ACN. Go to Edo State now and see what is happening there and compare to when lucky was in power. Only a fool will vote for PDP. The Oba of Benin hardly speak in political matter. For him to talk shows Oshiomole has impressed him.In 1914, Oba Ovworamen, who is known as one of the most powerful Obas in history, was deported to Calabar by the british and nothing happened. I was born and grew up in Benin and I know the Oba is highly respected. But the moment you start meddling in politics, you loose that respect. First problem is that your subjects become split and that's where it begins. I insist that Osiomole is doing well but the Oba should stear clear off politics. He will mess himself up sooner or later. Nothing is permanent in any human society. |
ebamma: all bokoharam agents and members arrested including dis kabiru sokoto, should face the firing squad,to serve as a deterent to other potential jihadists.Loooooooool. The foolishness of Nigerians. Suicide bombers when caught, should be executed to serve as deterent to other suicide bombers. What an irony! NL is full of comedians! Lol |
maclatunji: Spain are the best team in the world but Italy is a team you don't want to meet in any final, this might just end-up in a penalty shoot-out and no one knows how that will end.How are spain the best team in the world? Because fifa and the spain loving media say so? The are not even the fourth best team in this tournament. And they were not the best team in the last world cup with their scrappy 1:0 wins. |
Olodostein: You don't know the crackers with their fake smiles. They knew very well what they did. This is not the first time the guy has gone through this.Racism is not limited to whites. Anyone can be a racist. Trying to make racism a white thing I think is not right and won't end it. It is a human problem, not a white problem. The kind of "racism" you find here on NL is far terrible. The difference is that we have the same skin colour so we call it tribalism instead. But the same principle of "am more superior to you" applies. |
tonyfrenzy: Super Mario nothing do U joo, even though u're a naughty boy.The problem with humans is there is never a balance. I have seen the cartton and don't see anything racist there. King kong is a dominating force, not a shameful representation. I can understand some people might be sensitive because of their environment but I think we might find ourselves taking some things too far. As much as racism exist, we must not get into paranoia. I don't think the Italian media after such a match would want to throw something racist at Balotelli. He was a hero that night. I just think the world in an attempt to leave one exreme is sliding into another extreme. |
ndu_chucks: The main point in my last post was that the kudos to GEJ may be premature. ThisDay wrote that the new version of the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) submitted to President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday, stated that International Oil Companies (IOCs) will get a better tax deal and many the contentious issues on fiscal regimes and domestic gas pricing, were re written to favour local and foreign investors who had kicked against the original version of the reform bill.Since when did insulting someone's personality, family and tribe count as constructive criticism? |
I was born and raised up in Benin but this is a sad story to read. Why? Because a king should never get involved with politics. At least not openly. This is the reason why southwest Obas and south east Obis aint worth much. The Oba of Benin has been the most sacred traditional ruler in Nigeria till date. But with moves like these, all that will soon change. I have nothing against Oshiomole and I think he is a good candidate but the truth about politics is, its a dirty game. IBB and Abacha combined to desecrate tthe Sultanate and it lost its respect. All because of politics. Even Oshiomole cannot be trusted as a politician. He is as dirty a politician as anyone else. This will backfire for the Oba, if not now, then in the future. And he might end up like the Ooni of Ife or Alafin of Oyo who politicians can toss around as they like. |
gboss4sure: Thank God the said he is a paid consultant you speaks the mind of his clients which means he doesn't speak his mind but that of who paid him and I once stated that this man was paid to say what he said about GEJ and Nigerians. Soon we will know who paid himThe biggest mistake GEJ haters are making is this: if you throw so much dirt at someone and he is able to contain it, he emerges a lot stronger and gains the advantage. They are only ensuring GEJ'ls landslide in 2015. Once the power reforms enter the next phase and power improves next year, and the agric reforms start yielding results, they will be soooo ashamed to show their faces and PDP will sweep the southwest in 2015. Secondly, I find it funny when GEJ haters come here and post that most Nigerians don't like GEJ. Well, maybe on twitter. Because on the streets, that's not the case. Most Nigerians on the street still see GEJ as a man who has good intention for Nigeria and is only being distracted by BH. I watched the various ministries giving their one year report this evening and its was amazing how much work has been done in one year particularly in agric, works, housing, foreign affairs, avaition, health and power. All with verifiable pictures and video. But then the anti GEJ camp are too scared to admit it. They will even tell you he hasn't achieved one thing. When you draw their attention to something they can't deny, they will quickly fire back by saying it was done by Yaradua or OBJ. One even challenged me the other day and claimed the Benin Ore road was done by Yaradua. A road that was sooo terrible as at January 2011. If you point them to another one, they will say its the person in charge that's working and not GEJ and that GEJ has nothing to do with it, even when its GEJ that appointed the person. One even praised Dasuki for visiting borno and said GEJ had no clue, like Dasuki appointed himself or Dasuki was working for himself. The simple answer for these guys is just more work. Soon, they will completely shut their smelly trap! Lol |
afam4eva: When are we going to focus our attention on more important issues rather than chasing shadows. yesterday it was gay marriage law and today it's birth control. Is birth control a major problem in Nigeria?Yes birth control is a major problem in Nigeria. In fact, it is a fundamental problem. If you want to change a country, you attack the fundamental flaws, not apply band aids. Lagos is already trying to reduce its population. Nigerias problem is largely cultural. We have to address the fundamental flaws in our mindset for the country to move forward. We need an accurate census and credible data of our population before we can do anything right. And we need this data like yesterday. |
al-ahamad:This is the part where you totally fall flat on your face. You think this is 1970? You are not even in majority anymore. You are actually a minority now. Middle belt has gone their way. The SS and SE are solidly together. NE and NW are divided along religious lines now! You are a stup1d minority and the earlier you realise it, the better for you. You have no mouth in Nigeria anymore. Adamu! |
On a different note: how did you guys miss the part where it said some of the companies involved were not listed in the house of reps kangaroo report. Money for cap, tippex for paper! You have just been Farouked! Lol |
al-ahamad:Die hard boko aram shyte box like you. Electricity was not better back then. Electricity usage has even tripled since then so its actually better now. Terrorist like you! |
Delafruita: whydo you always assume people reading your posts are not knowledgeable?we know how much obasanjo was paying on subsidy yearly,we even know how much was paid in 2010 which was 557billion.how did it jump to almost 3 trillion in 2011?we know how many companies imported fuel under obasanjo i.e. 6.yar'adua didnt increase it.within 4 months under GEJ,they rose to 128.and you are here saying bladderdash.we are not ignorant of your tactics oAnd we also know how fuel scarcity finally stopped during GEJ. Or you think it was just a miracle? The rise is cost of subsidy money is directly proportional to the rise in supply of fuel. You dig it? |
al-ahamad:Typical Boko Aram agent trying to throw lies and propaganda around. I know you guys won't give up on your agenda to make the country ungovernable, but you will fail. The worst case scenario is that the country will split. David Mark has warned you. You better heed his warning now! |
onomeasike: @ jmaine, you call it stupidity but I call it patriotism.Enough of all these idleness going on in this politics section.Imagine the amount of taxpayers being wasted to pay Reno Omokri(beaf) and this is the best he can do for his country? Why are you making a f00l of yourself in public like this? Honestly bro, its not nice. |
Sky Blue: You have completely missed the point and your response has addressed very little (to be rather generous). Calm down and read again. You never know, you just might get it. The bolded parts are a selected few parts in your post I find utterly laughable. Ssuch a generous soul - even telling us what to and what not to think to fall into these priced categories. To each his own I guess. Whatever you are comfortable telling yourself.Bros, take am easy on this guy, alj harem, oh! You have completely crushed him to powder! This is a no contest. Please have mercy! Lol |
maasoap: That's where you christians usually get perception about Muslims wrong. There is little or no teachings in most of the mosques. Many of you believe in hearsay because if you even had opportunity to listen to Islamic sermon, you wouldn't want to hear it. Why? Because you have been programmed from the childhood into believing that Islam is evil. You even asked how christian suicide bombers have heard of but if we mention now, the next arguement will be comparison.I lived next to a mosque for over four years in lagos. I know what they preach in the mosque. They insult jews all day long. They keep preaching that boko haram is not the problem. They say America and Israel is behind the bombing. They never condemn Boko Aram or any other act of terrorism around the world. If they can be that way in Lagos, then I can tell you they are far worse in the North. Have you not noticed that every major attck on Christians start after friday jumat service? Please spare us the stories. Silence means consent. I don't hear general condemnation coming from muslims. Not buhari, not tinubu, ibb, gusau, and so on. So don't tell me stories. And please, there are no christian suicide bombers. You aint fooling anyone with that bile. It is a terrible sin to take your life as a christian. |
