all these talk of revolution really make me laugh. There is already a revolution. I dont know which one you are looking for again. The problem in Nigeria is not having a revolution but agreeing what a revolution represents or is. If by revolution, you mean, removing GEJ and putting in Buhari or Tinubu then you must be delusional. If by revolution, you do mean demanding from whoever is there, good governance. then you are on point. The problem is not just who leads us but our ability to demand the right things. But it is difficult to pursue a collective revolution when we are constantly partisan and thinking of our individual interests and calling our actions a revolution |
The same argument applies to electricity tariffs. Why do we always put the wrong things forward? We dont need low electricity tariffs. we need standard electricity tariffs, constant electricity and pay as you go billing. Thats exactly what we need. Those currently on pay as you go billing spend less than those on PHCN estimated billing crap. With pay as you go, you use only what you need and shut of your power when you dont need it. I beg all of you to put down the sentiments and just think right. AS LONG AS WE CONTINUE TO PREACH THE LABOUR MENTALITY OF GOVERNMENT TAKING CARE OF US, WE WILL BE PUTTING OURSELVES IN THE WRONG BOAT AND GIVING THE GOVERNMENT THE ADVANTAGE. Demand development and infrastructure, not handouts! |
Kobojunkie:I didnt put water in my mouth when I said it. SUBSIDY DOES NOT BENEFIT THE POOR. Tell me how it benefits the poor. You take money that should be used to provide infrastructure for the poor and use it to pay an oil importer to bring in oil. Tell me how that benefits the poor. The money the poor thinks he saves from fuel purchase, he spends on things he shouldnt have spent it on in the first place. Please apply rational thinking and stop echoing the ignorant labour and media bile. |
@alj_harem, @lanre_front Why is a simple English explanation so difficult for you to understand? Should I use Yoruba or Ibo? I never said the government has put those thing in place. I simply said those things will need to be in place before subsidy can be removed. That means, I wasnt really on the government side. I was just stating facts. I also said you need to focus your energies in demanding that government put those things in place (at least to an acceptable level) before they can talk about removing subsidy. Secondly, please stop echoing the silly labour and media ignorance. Subsidy does not benefit the poor. If you think it does, then you are truly being scammed. Subsidy benefits the importers. The problem with Nigeria is that most of us have this "government is a nanny" mentality. I have said time and time again, we do no need government handouts. We do not need government paying our bills. That is why I detest owanbe governors who always come out promising free this and free that. We dont need freebies. We need the right infrastructure in place so we can generate wealth. We are hard working and intelligent people. We need good roads, access to loans, regular power, security, etc not government handouts and stipends. Stop thinking in stipends. Stop this "government is a nanny" mentality. SUBSIDY DOES NOT BENEFIT THE MASSES. IT ONLY BENEFITS THE IMPORTERS. What the so called masses think they gain in subsidy, they loose in hospitals, loans, roads, etc. I know some will quickly jump and say "but they will embezzle the money if government stop spending it on subsidy". That is a wrong argument. So somebody should be allowed to enrich himself just because we are afraid the government might embezzle it? Terrible stand to take, I think. Instead, we should now fight for accountability. For example, you can start a movement that will keep tabs on the money gained from the removal of subsidy and how it is spent and track it. This is how the people demand good governance. Well I guess nobody wants to do that because it is more convenient to critisize and talk crap. Stop critisizing and start acting. You have not done anything for Nigeria and you are accusing a politician. Why have you not stood up and taking a stand to help your country. Critics are the worst kind of people there are. Go back to your village and start there and make a difference. Posting crap in NL all day is a cowardly response to life's challenges. Act and make a difference. Talk is cheap. Forums are even cheaper! |
^^^Fair enough, probably skipped that. But that was just 1 in a whole lot |
I carefully read every post on this thread and was hoping to find something intelligent but was not surprised by all the ignorant comments born of sentiments. Fuel subsidy is an anomaly that should never have been in the first place. It only enriches the fuel importers and improvishes the populace. The military started it as a convenient decoy for not fixing the oil sector and the refineries. In the long run, it doesnt benefit the so called masses. It has to go and will definitely go one day. How can a country that produces crude be paying N77 for every litre as subsidy? Absolute bunkers! That money is money for major major major infrastructural development. What I was expecting people to comment on are the pillars that must be in place before subsidy can be removed, not that subsidy must not be removed. 1. There must be regular power supply. A major part of the fuel consumption in Naija is for generators for power. If power improves to an acceptable level, then a milestone would have been reached. 2. The refineries must be fixed and their capacity increased. This can then allow for competitive pricing. The N142 someone posted will only happen if we import the fuel. If our local refineries produce it, it wont be up to that amount. 3. Government must invest heavily in agriculture and other minerals. If agricultural development improves, the rise in food produce will counter the rise in food prices that would have occurred due to increase in transportation that might happen when subsidy is removed. For example, if price for a tuber of yam increases because of removal of subsidy, the price can be reduced by the increased production of yam. These and some others points I might not have mentioned are the issues that must be raised and the things that must be in place before subsidy is removed. People keep talking about minimum wage and it makes me laugh. Reason? Simple. How many people in Naija really work for the government and collect the so called minimum wage? A very small percentage of Nigerians work for the government. Lagos state which has one of the biggest work force, doesnt even have up to 100, 000 workers. Even if you assume that as the average and multiply by 36 and add federal parastatals. you still wouldnt even get up to 5million people working for the government. So forget the minimum wage talk. What we need are standard government policies and accountability, not subsidy and government handouts. When are we going to stop this government handout mentality. This is the reason politicians can manipulate the system because most of you are still looking up to the government to collect stipends. We need infrastructure so we can generate our own income not government payouts. |
Nigerians are very illogical people. In as much as it pains me to hear about the loss of jobs, the fact is there is no sentiments in business. Everyone critisizing Airtel here cannot truly tell me they would do something different in this kind of situation. In business, you will always make decisions that will benefit your business not sentimental decisions. If I have a big business, I will never allow any of you critics here to handle it because that will mean that the business will crash. My brother just got a job with MTN as customer service personell and he is paid 30k with a promise to increase his salary to 60k agter 3 months. I didnt hear anyone critisizing MTN for that. The truth is, we glorify certain jobs and expect to be paid more money than we actually deserve in Naija. Have you ever conducted a job interview in Naija? You will laugh till u roll on the floor. They usually come with 15 pages of cv that says they have done evry kind of project from marine engioneering to baking cakes and writing software. Then if you ask them what they want to receive, they will say 300k. When you mistakenly employ them, they will start to do their own private jobs above the companies stuff. They are very lazy and unproductive. I have said that the solution to Nigerias problems is to pay everyone per hour. If they start to pay per hour, productivity levels will suddenly go thru the roof. Insincerity is now a normal character in Naija and it is sad. |
velo10:1. That something was initiated under a man's tenure doesnt make it his initiative. You called it his initiative and that was wrong. If you had said we should give him some credit for the scheme, I wont have objected. he deserves some credit, absolutely. But to call it his initiative is not correct. 2. You are accusing me of a crime you committed so I will say it back to you. Please do not try to deprive GEJ of his achievement in your quest to discredit him and in your ego driven refusal to admit he has made the scheme a resounding success. All that happened in Yaradua's time was submitting of weapons. Nothing more, so how can you say all the credit belongs to him and GEJ was a passive VP? You can see your double standard. 3. This thread was about GEJ, not Yaradua and you immediately attacked him because you are afraid he is making progress so you want to quickly discredit him so you claimed the credit should all go to Yaradua. Your tactics and methods are too transparent man. You should try other methods next time. 4. Please speak for yourself. "You and I" do not know that GEJ was a passive VP. That is your own personal opinion so dont attribute it to everyone else. GEJ was in charge of the committee that proposed nthe amnesty. No argument or bad belle can change that or take that away. Thank you! |
^^^The amnesty program was not a Yaradua initiative. The amnesty program was the recommendation of the commitee that was setup to look into the crisis in the Niger Delta at a time when production levels had hit an all time low of 700, 000 barrels per day in the heat of the millitants bombings of pipelines and kidnapping of expatriates. The Commitee was handled by President Goodluck Jonathan, then the VP. The commitee came up with a proposal for amnesty as the best option going foward. Yaradua initially rejected the recommendation but when he was warned that the Nigerian economy could not sustain for long, he had to accept. Aliameshegha and Goodluck were the main anchor between the militants and the government. That was why it was easy for Goodluck to follow it up and complete it. The scheme has trained(and still training) about 26, 000 militants in centers in Nigeria and around the world. You think Yaradua on his own would have chosen to train Niger delta youths like that when the north hasnt had that kind of training? You are funny guy! |
Delafruita:You never fail to amaze me. So I should take the word of David Cameron or Babangida Aliyu to what I see on the ground right here in Lagos? I no understand you my guy, seriously. Dont you see that the fact that Cameron et all are eulogizing him when the facts on the ground says otherwise actually corroborate my point that he is doing propaganda? Did Cameron go around Lagos to confirm what he was told Fashola is doing? Its called media hype my friend. That is the same thing that was done for Obama. Now he is running America right into a pit. 82% of Lagosians. Do you understand the meaning of necessary evil. That was exactly what happened in the last election. If the PDP or Labour had brought out someone in the calibre of Funsho Williams, then you would have seen a real bashing. If Fashola was so sure of himself, why did he stop Lastma and Kai operations 2 weeks to elections? Again, you amaze me. So Tambuwal is now a hero because ACN say so? Tambuwal, the right hand man of Bankole? The man at the center of the Bankole case? You forgot that Tambuwal was Bankole's candidate? You amaze me. That ACN will align with a thief like Tambuwal just to spite OBJ is a clear picture of their mindset. They are not interested in changing Nigeria. They are just interested in power. simple! QED! |
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahaha! I remember the day you stupidly went around trying to find pictures about Fashola's achievements eh? Eko-Ile? Why are you childish like this? Have you ever heard of people having to post what a governor has achieved? If you have to post it for us to see, then he hasnt done much now. haba! If he has done much, we will not need you posting pictures. We will see it ourselves. Have you seen anyone trying to run around posting pictures of Donald Dukes achievements? If you enter Calabar from day 1, you will not be told. The same goes for Akwa Ibom, Enugu and Rivers. It is only Lagos that has to take pictures and post for us to know they are doing stuff. Something must be wrong here. That is why I call it propaganda, simple and plain. You just vindicated and justified me. Are you honestly going to tell me that what you posted is worth the 10billion dollars he has spent? Of course, you will then rant that he used everything to pay salaries, eh? Eko-Ile? You dont sound very smart, honestly. Heres how it works. Everyday, I come out from my house to go somewhere and I see solar powered street lights that havent worked for over 2 years. They were bought with multi millions and celebrated all over the media as the next big thing after sliced bread and the Internet. I see roads laden with potholes and accident traps everywhere. Before I left the house, my water was not running. I see flooded roads and there are no alternative means of transport as was promised and celebrated with pomp and glamour. My friends wife nearly lost her life when armed robbers stormed their estate right at the heart of Ikeja, Someting that didnt used to happen in Lagos. armed robbers now daring to enter estates right in the heart of Lagos. That means no security. I see the public schools in disarray. I see no housing schemes anywhere. Power project? You must be a joker? I dont need an Eko-Ile posting photoshop pictures on NL. I can see things for myself. I dont need an Eko-Ile posting master plans on NL. I can see for myself just like everyone else. Please dont insult our inteligence. We dont need NL photos to know if a governor is working. Dont call Lagosians fools. Haba! |
Eko Ile:I didnt post them because I want them to be relevant to you. Just refuting your lies and propaganda and punching holes in your assertions for all to see. And I will keep doing it. Who cares about you or what you think? You dont pay my salary do you? shior! |
@Ufeolorun 1. What is wrong with what I have said please? Is it wrong because you dont like it or because you dont share the same opinion? 2. And what has it got to do with this thread? If this is your best shot, I feel sorry for you. You just showed how weak your argument is. I have never changed my opinions in all my posts. You can search them out and print them out if you like. I am very consistent from topic to topic. And I will make my opinions known and state the facts as I see it whether it offends you or not. God bless Nigeria! |
El-Rufai has raised very important issues and I agree mostly with him But where he and many others get it wrong is that they keep attributing the whole problem to corrupt government. The present problem we have in Nigeria is not corrupt government. Corruption in government is actually an effect of the real problem, not a cause. The real problem is the structure of the country itself. The very fact that we are really not one country. Everything starts from there. How can you say GEJ for example should reduce cost of governance when we have a constitution that promotes 1. Federal Character 2. There must be 1 minster from each state. That means there must be 1 ministry to cater for one minster from each state. If you give a man from Yobe 10 naira, you must give another man from Ekiti 10 naira. 3. We are still fighting over oil money in 2011. This is just to list a few. We really must sit down as a nation to sort out our oneness. If someone, for example, finds himself in the NNPC and he experiences all the northern domination there and he now finds an opportunity to loot, he will be more likely to succumb because he knows he cannot stop others that are doing it and he will feel he is doing himself. But in a country where people see themselves as one, that is less likely to happen. When people have a general sense of belonging, they tend to be less corrupt. Some of you might not agree with me, but the structure of this country is why everything else is fallen apart. There is no continuity in geovernment for example. A new government comes and tries to start his own thing completely abandoning all his predessesor has done. Just because he needs to favour his own people more. The truth is people like El-Rufai can criticize all they but I don't see them pushing bills in the NASS that can fundamentally change these flaws. I would have expected people like El-Rufai to go to the senate and help make these changes but my problem with people like them is they do nothing but criticize because it is the most convenient thing to do. Imagine if Wole Soyinka was in the senate and pushing stuff? I don't ever like critics because they do nothing. They only criticize. We need men who can take action and push things through. I thought Ngige was going to shake the senate with reformation stuff. But the silence from the guy is deafening. I pray God give us reall leaders that can take the bull by the horn. |
Depilot:My brother this is what we face in this country. You can see our leaders are not really our problem but the so called masses and followers. We want to rid our country of bad eggs but we now have a situation where some people want to protect their own. I dont give a cent about PDP, ACN, CPC, etc . If someone is corrupt, crucify him. Chikena! But these ACN guys want to come here with this their "four legs good, two legs bad propaganda". It is really pathetic and dishearthening. How can Nigeria change like this. |
^^^ Is that your best shot? Try harder bro! lol |
Eko Ile:If they are not intimidating anybody, why pack the whole bunch of the party people there? An Irony! They say a clear conscience fears no accusations. Why try to use a hammer to kill a fly? Dont you see you give it more attention and hence more legitimacy by giving it all you got? Poor strategy or hysteria? Your guess is as good as mine. lol |
Demoladoc:Classic ACN mindset. This should be an editorial piece! I love it!! |
^^^ So what has Fashola done? Assume I am wrong and tell me. Has he done any housing scheme you know of? Has he improved on water supply in Lagos? How many good roads has he done? all the road I see everyday is shite! And please dont count drawing lines on the road and road construction. Has he cleared the Lagos water ways? Has he dome proper drainage systems in Lagos? Has he improved Lagos schools? Please dont go and paste the political campaign pictures where he donated some computers as improvement. I see the public schools everyday. They are shite! Has he improved security in Lagos? I will tell you objectively what I know he has done. 1. BRT 2. Lagos Beautification (i.e. flowers, fountains) 3. Lagos is neater. (i.e. Oshidi, Obalende and We now have fine busstops and overhead bridges) 4. The hospitals are better. Aside from that, he is overrated. |
Exposed to what? Societal decay? Wouldnt want even my dog to be exposed to such? |
fyneguy:Have you ever seen anywhere in the world where a party leader sends a serving governor on an errand? It is a total humiliation of the office of the governor and the total humiliation of the people of Oyo state. Very shameful. |
Basics007:I didnt put water in my mouth when I said it. PDP governors are currently doing better than ACN governors. Fashola is overrated. It doesnt matter what the media try to sell. I live in Lagos and I can see it clearly. Apart from BRT and Gardens, tell me what Fashola has done in Housing, Water, Roads, Education, etc. Noring much. Except of course, you read the nation newspapers or you watch LTV and TVC. Amaechi and Akpabio are far ahead of Fashola. Al Fashola has been doing for 4 years is inspecting this and that and publishing those inspection as work done and some of you run here and quickly applaud. I dey laugh o. But the press resides in the south west and they use it to their advantage. Fair enough. The west has always run on propaganda. Fact. |
Gbawe. You are really a very very funny chap! You make a lot of funny assumptions and postulations. the weakening of the PDP's monopoly at State and legislative level. The PDP governors are presently doing far far better than the ACN governors, except of course, on the pages of the Nation newspapers and TV continental. lol Instead uber egotist, OBJ, preferred to hand over to a man he knows is incompetent.First, you hand over to the winner not the one you like or "think" is more competent. so much for an educated Nigerian. Pathetic! This is coming even on the fact that I dont even like Shagari Secondly, You dont win by being loved by the south west but by Nigeria. oops! Thirdly, the guy who betrayed Awolowo was Abiola not OBJ. The same ABiola you now celebrate. Ironic. We have seen it before !! We saw our region overtaken by OBJ's thugs !!!!The last time I looked, Tinubu looked more like a thug than OBJ. Pot calling kettle black I guess. Is it the same Owanbe Tinubu you are talking about or another one? Mshewwwwwww!!!!!!!! Ok. Sorry! I remember. He is a better Thug abi? Nonsense and Ingredence!!! |
People like Gbawe will try to make you believe that the SW rejected OBJ but the results of the elections say otherwise as it was a very close battle in Ogun and Oyo. In fact, the divisions in PDP gave ACN those states not necessarily the ACN's popularity. That does not count as a "total rejection" like Gbawe and the likes keep spewing. They still have to keep watching their backs. lol |
I dont understand this whole ACN governors solidarity charade. What is the point of the governors going to the court? Is it going to count as circumstantial evidence or what? What bearing does it have on the case are they looking for a media trial? I think these governors are absolutely jobless and I see a lot brewing here 1. These governors are going to become big failures. They are not focused as they have only been embarking on propaganda after propaganda instead of getting down to work. Imagine one saying he will create 10000 industries in 4 years. 2. ACN might implode soon. Fashola is definitely not feeling Tinubu right now. They might try the impeachment thing again, and that will be the beginning of the end. Ikofuriji is already in the dragnet. Like they say, he who goes for equity must come with a clean hand. ACN? Very dirty hands. Even Ariel wont help this one. 3. They might also try the smear campaign against Fashola. Dont be suprised to start hearing stuff like, BRT et all was solely Tinubu, not Fashola. The problem with that move is that the general public are already brainwashed to believe its a Fashola thing. Will be difficult to change that conception. Tinubu is a good politician. I must commend him for that. But he is power drunk. And like they say, absolute powers corrupt absolutely. Fashola has presidential ambition just like Tinubu and he has only 2 options. a. Take over from Tinubu as ACN leader. 2. Perform well and Switch party to Labour or PDP. Also the race is on for the next Lagos state governor. Ikuforuji is Tinubu's candidate but there are other who will not have it. This is what you get when oneman tries to control everything. It is the same mistake OBJ made in the SW. It never works because Nigerians no matter the region are not loyal people. They are only loyal as long as it serves their interest and they cant change the status quo. |
^^^Why do you people keep saying he is innocent? Is it based on facts/evidence or sentiments? There is no evidence in the case that says he is innocent, is there? |
Facts: 1. Gani is vindicated 2. All government prosecutions are politically motivated including that of Bode George which ACN and Tinubu's supporters praised. So it doesnt matter as long as he is a criminal 3. The fact that Tinubu was sitting in the dock yesterday is enough punishment to start with. 4. ACN can never never never win the presidential election in a hundred years. a. It is a regional party b. The region where it resides are too possesive of the party to allow for other regions to embrace it c. It has a cult like following that doesnt allow for open participation d. It will soon have a break away as there are serious internal power tussle going on already. Fashola may emerge as the party leader soon. Dont say I didnt warn you guys. e. The North does not do opposition politics. They always belong to the center. That was why PDP swept the governorship posts as soon as GEJ was annouced winner of the presidential race. CPC would have swept the northern Governorship election if Buhari was announced winner. North does not join opposition. f. ACN does not have real people on the ground in most states outside the SW. All their candidates inthe last elections outside the SW were former PDP or ANPP people who could not get the primary tickets from PDP/ANPP. They are not very relevant in those states, just like the case in Akwa Ibom. the guy was a 2 time PDP senator that was an epic failure while he was in the NASS. He only tried to play tribal politics but it backfired. g. ACN governors are now becoming guilty of the same thing they accused PDP governors of. The reason is simple. Nigerian leaders perform well only when they are under serious pressure. Now several of the PDP governors having felt some real pressure from the last elections are beginning to do well. Even the formerly inept Uduaghan is beginning to do wonders in Delta state. He is now responding to the people more. But the reverse is the case for the ACN states. The ACN governors are becoming comfortable and thereby becoming relaxed. Aregbesola is a very good example. He acts like he is bigger than OSun. It will backfire on him. 5. This trial is only the prelude to a bigger trial. Many of you havent yet understood the end game. It is simple. First, establish that he owns the account. Next prosecute him for embezzlement based on the monies in the account. If you start by trying to prosecute him for embezzlement, you might have a setback in the case. Its a 2 edge sword and no matter how Tinubu's supporters try to wish it away, he is fried. Period! |
1. Are you saying he is innocent because he is black? 2. Would you have defended him this much if he was white? I cant say if he is innocent or not and I certainly would have wished it was commuted to life imprisonment but it is wrong to say the justice system failed or that he is innocent just because he is black. Most bad buy don't always look bad and actually always look innocent when they are not committing a crime. We should just hope the real truth comes out someday for all to learn. |
Nairaplus:The sad part of these replies is that I keep seeing you guys are not even real programmers and do not understand the basics of programming and yet still make your ignorant comments 1. Nobody ever memorizes or needs to memorize all the classes in Java or any other language. One of the fundamentals of modern day programming is code reuse-ability. That simply means, when you develop apps, you can adopt code you have used before or sometimes functions that others have developed that you have access to and the right to use. This is the whole idea of Object Oriented Programming (OOP). That you don't understand this gives you up as a programmer wanna be. You lot are not even qualified to comment. 2. The simple point above means, a master of a particular language is not one that remembers all the classes but one that understands the flow structure of the language and understands the building process for durable applications. That is why when you learn one language in programming, you have actually learnt all the languages because the difference in languages is majorly syntax. Most programming structures (Variables, functions, loops, conditional statements, data definitions, etc) are the same (only different in their syntax) for almost all languages except for older languages like COBOL, FORTRAN or languages like LISP. Even compiled and interpreted languages have the same structures. If you need to do any special tack, you simply read the API documentation or programmers guide to get the syntax or definition for that function or command required. 3. You guys must be living in the ice age. In a world where 10 year olds are hackers, you are telling me you cant learn programming in a month? You guys must be very daft! Wake up! The only language that took me up to a month to learn (about 3 months) was my first language which was Pascal (Turbo Pascal on MSDOS). That was because It was my introduction to programming. Every other language I have learnt has taking me less than 2 weeks Including Java. You guys and really very daft! Anyway, NL is full of critics and cyinics who do nothing but try to spread their doubts and lack of self belief to everyone else. They go around preaching dooms day and telling what can never be done. They contribute nothing to society but just sit in front of their laptops or cafes criticizing and voicing their bitterness. They never help anyone. They only see wrong, they are like a canker-worm in the society. It is not right for you to try to sell your doubts and limitations and un-intelligence as the standard for everyone else. The world is very big. Some of us got a lot of distinctions in our secondary and University days. So don't come here trying to sell your f00lishness and backward experiences as a standard. I aint buying that. Just because you cannot attain something or some height doesn't mean the whole world has to be like you. Reminds me of a story in the bible where a guy was told the country was going to change the next day and he laughed at it and the prophet told him, because of his unbelief and doubt, he would see it but wont partake in it. He was trampled by the mob the next day. If you keep propagating this your f00lish doubt, you will end up being a f00lish un-achiever. You must come out of your unbelief and limitations. what you are saying is your experience. saying it is a fact doesn't make it so. It is simply YOUR EXPERIENCE. It is your reality, not the reality of others. |
Power supply has greatly improved in Lagos. I posted a thread on that last week. It is not down to the rains. Secondly, Nigeria does not need 40,000 mega watts. I dont know where you got that from. We are not an industrialized nation yet. I believe an increase in power generation will encourage a lot of industries to spring up. but at the moment, we dont need that amount of power. I have been to south Africa several times and they are a highly industrialized nation so they need such power. Dont even mention the US. I we get to 10, 000 mega watts, we should be ok for nationwide 24 hours power. It is not based on population but on the industrial demands. Individuals dont really use much power. |
I dont need to exchange word with saddists. That what you find in NL these days. Saddists with no belief claiming some sort of righteous positions and making a fool of themselves with their retrogressive thinking. Saying Nigeria is full of scammers. Stupid generalizations. For your information, many Nigerian businesses now use Nigerian software. If you think you know Nigeria very well sitting in front of your laptop in Ukraine, you are deceiving yourself. Nigeria has left many of you behind. I feel sorry for you. I dont have anything to prove to you and am not a hungry Nigerian living in a far away country like you. You dont need more than a month to learn any language except you are completely new to programming. You dont learn hello world in one month. You learn hello world in 30 minutes. Only a retard will use one month to learn hello world. Any intelligent person who is already good at programming at least one language can learn any other language in one month. If you couldnt learn it in one month, you must be so dull For the record, I am not asking for money to teach the guy. I teach Java and Delphi for free. Absolutely free. Dunce. I have been organising free trainings for people and even have a program I run in Niger Delta to train programmers. We are turning Nigeria into the next India. Cynics like you will only wake up one day and be amazed how far we ve gone. You guys seriously need to check your orientation because your cynism and self doubt is really limiting you. |
^^^I can see that you lack very vital experience in the business world. I dont run after algoritms. Thats for broke guys claiming to be geeks. Solve a puzzle on a website? Common! Thats very childish! Many of the best apps in the world dont need complex algoritms. Most apps that use complex algorithms are scientific apps. What the Nigerian market needs are business solutions not geeky apps that mean nothing and are not applicable to anything. You think people get impressed by your complex algoritms when you go for presentations. You are talking like a second year student in a university trying to do his assignments. When you write apps for companies in Nigeria, nobody cares about your skills. They just want to see their results at the end of the day. In fact, you need more lecture and training on software than the @op. From your post, you cannot lead an apps dev team because a guy like you will start trying to impress with stuff thats not important. I ve dealt with all kinds of complex algorithms when I was in school. My project was an interpreter I made for a new language I called E language. I blew my supervisors away. But that dont put money on the table. When I got into the business world, I saw it was a different stuff altogether. Stop showing up yourself as a broke arse geek. It means nothing. I am a member of several African programming camps and open source orgs. I celebrate software freedom day every year and spend time programming Linux machines. All that is just for fun. It doesnt put a cent in my pocket. I do such stuff once in a while, just for fun But its for broke arse guys (maybe like you). Wake up and stop talking like the guys in novell and IBM that are now out of jobs because they think they have better algorithms than Microsoft and Apple. The world dont need new algoritms. They need simple solutions. Facebook is simple programming using AJAX. Not some geeky algorithm. Wake up my guy. Naija is changing and folks like you are still in the 70s.
