^^^It is so funny and so lame when you see the anti-GEJ guys here claiming they are speaking for Nigeria. The same way they claimed they were speaking for Nigeria before the election and prophesied Buhari would win it. You are speaking for yourselves not Nigeria. You claim others are being tribal when your core motivation is tribalism. The only reason Buhari and the north and Tinubu dont accept GEJ is tribalism nothing more. The fact that there was an attempt to have a consensus president is the only proof you need. If Tinubu and Buhari say they are not tribal, then they are barefaced liars. They are as tribal as it gets. Funny enough, the most non tribal Nigerian out there is OBJ. And then Ekweme. They are the only ones that has alliances that span the country. Tell me who are Tinubu's pals and partners in the SS or SE or Mid Belt or NC, NW, NE. Funny that all the candidates that the ACN featured in several parts of the country apart from SW were disgruntled former PDP members. Including Ngige. He really doesnt have true alliances across the country because he is tribal. Buhari didnt even dim it fit to campaign in the SS and SE and still expected them to vote for him. Such impunity and disdain for a whole geo political section of the country. Such disrespect and still he says he should have won those zones. Off course I didnt expect anything less from a "born to rule mentality" fulani jihadist. You GEJ haters are really laughable sometimes, you sound like comedians |
^^^Keep deceiving yoursef. the so called 99% of posts so far are Buhari apologists who are ever wiling to jump on any GEJ thread to register their bitterness. Most GEJ supporters are waiting on him to do what he promised and they know you cant judge him in 3 months. They wont post crap ike you see here. Even some opposition guys the other day on AIT agreed that it would be too early to judge the President |
Back to the main topic and Tinubu is still going to have his arse kicked. I wish someone can bring up the Toronto case. Wish Gani was alive. Would have been interesting. |
So what milestones are you expecting to be met 3 months into an administration? And you mentioned that you provide your own borehole. The last time I checked that was a state government responsibility. So its GEJ's fault too? I dont see you slagging Fashola for that. Abi you are also one of those biased partisan guys who wil see nothing good in the GEJ just because he is not their own? |
All those taking trash here are Buhari apologists and boot lickers. If Jonathan sustains the improved power supply and grow it to 10, 000 mega watts and implement the Agricultural and rail reform the economic team headed by Okonjo is seriousy pursuing, he will rule again without stress. Its all up to him to sustain it. Forget these Boko Aram guys posting here. They have said the country will be ungovernable and now they say it is Jonathan fault that a group is doing suicide bombings. Exactly what Buhari and CPC said after the election. They claimed the riot was because GEJ won. I guess the bombings are also because GEJ won too. Their plans wil come to nought. They will soon tell you that if Buhari was president, there wont have been bombings. Of course they are right because there wont have been anyone to sponsor of instigate it. |
^^^^Now your stupidity have reached the heights 1. You still cant comprehend the meaning of Bigotry even after I have shown you from Wikipedia. Thats very low. 2. I never said is was wrong for Ribadu to visit IBB. I actually commended both of them by saying the north knows what they want and they will close ranks to get it. Oh I forgot you either cant read or have bad eyes. 3. Niger Delta faired better under Yaradua? I see you only read the Nation, Tinubu's newspaper. First and foremost, the amnesty program was born from the report of a commitee asked to find a solution to the Niger delta and Yaradua had no choice since the oil production had fallen to an all time low of 700, 000 barrels per day. The nation was loosing money and plunging into a crises fast. When the report and reccommendation was submitted, Yaradua approved it. Then who implemented it? Alameiseigha and Jonathan. They were the only 2 people the militants listen to. Odili was then their enemy. They were the ones that convinced the boys to accept the amnesty. 4. Now under Jonathan, thousands of them are recieving top training both in Nigeria and all over the world. And you say they faired better under Yaradua. Have you seen how they defend him with all their energy? You are a real fool. You are the one who is sinking and doing it fast. You cant even articulate your points. Thats how daft you are. Go back and re-read all our posts and come back and tell me who is articulating and who is evading and junketing. Ode! |
Akanbi_edu:Indeed we are fighting the north. Whether you believe it or not. We are fighting the north. We are not one country no matter how hard you try to believe that. We are an almagamation of completely parallel cultures. Does that mean our southern brothers are all saints? Far from it. But We will find it hard to really take on our own corrupt southern brothers as long as we are within this funny marriage called Nigeria. A good example is the Saro Wiwa case. Again, Gbawe completely evades all his flaws I have spelt out because that is what he does best. Evade his folly! The difference between people like us and Gbawe is that we dont claim we love everybody. We believe in live and let live. If I tell you I love every Nigerian from north to south, I would be a liar and an hypocrite and I am neither. But I do believe in live and let live. The Boko Haram demand for Islamization of 12 states is a typical example of the Northern mindset. We also saw all that during the last post election crisis. The push for a Northern candidate in the last election is another good example. One thing I do respect about the north is that they don't hide their desires. It is only the south west that pretend they love us all and are fighting for our general good. Imagine Ribadu visiting IBB and getting his endorsement before the last election. This were sworn enemies but when it came to who will rule the nation, they closed ranks. So yes I do not subscribe to the Gbawe kind of hypocrisy. And he keeps quoting discredited sources as his evidence and evading the points I have raised because he has no real answers. |
@Gbawe From Wikipedia: Bigoted 1. Obstinately convinced of the superiority or correctness of one's own opinions and prejudiced against those who hold different opinions. 2. Expressing or characterized by prejudice and intolerance. You are one of those fools who run along with social cliches that the media make up to push their own agendas. From the definition above, you are found out to be a real jerk as clearly I have said that my stand is to defend my interest not to prove any superior opinion. You are one of those who have swallowed the media lie that tolerance means agreeing to everything someone else says. Humans are made to have diversity in opinion and to defend their interests. when I disagree with you, it doesnt make me intolerant or a bigot. I am simply different. I become a bigot or am intolerant when I try to force you to be like me. I never said the north should be like me, I simply said I have a right to my self existence and well being. I really hope you can understand all this analysis as your disposition seems to prove otherwise. TOLERANCE IS ALLOWING YOU TO BE WHILE I AM ALLOWED TO BE AND MY WELL BEING IS GUARANTEED. WHEN THE NORTH EXPLOITS THE OIL OF THE SOUTH SOUTH AND BUILD A PIPE FROM WARRI TO KADUNA AND SQUANDERS THE RESOURCES FOR 40 YEARS AND YOU SAY I SHOULD NOT BE ANGRY AND YOU TERM MY ANGER AND DISAPPROVAL AS INTOLERANT, THEN YOU ARE AN HYPOCRITE AND A FOOL. |
@Gbawe wrote My mother did not raise a fool . To that extent I cannot support the foolish notion that a Government stupendously tolerant of corruption , participating in corruption and actually empowering it , will be the same one that will fight corruption sincerely. That is utter garbage. You can keep decieving yourself. I choose , as most with common sense will also do, to believe that a President who used corruption (virtually bribed everyone) to win an election, is surrounded by the most hideously corrupt in the land (Anenih, OBJ et al) and directly employs corrupt individuals into important office (Haliru Bello) is not the President to fight corruption sincerely. It is as simple as that. We are facing the same "zero tolerance for corruption" deception experienced under Yar Adua while the friends and associate of our former President were some of the most corrupt in the land carting away billions unnoticed !!!! Ethnocentric and religious bigotry will never allow some Nigerians to see what is obvious.Gbawe, I am really getting disappointed in you. I was partially enjoying your post until I got to the above. First you became so evasive and lost track of the whole discuss and finally veered into falsehood. Tell me, So which government would have been so saintly in Nigeria since according to you, you need a totally incorruptible government to fight corruption? So we should assume if "Tinubu and the forty thieves" was president of Nigeria, he would be saintly enough to fight corruption eh? Why are you wallowing in the proverbial pot calling kettle black? Is ACN less corrupt than the PDP? I live in Lagos so you are not talking to an uninformed person. I encounter the ACN government almost on a daily basis and I know the corruption going on within. AND IT IS MASSIVE! Then to make the whole matter worse, you now went on to quote Saharareporters. That was the last straw. Saharareporters are the worst kind of journalism there is. They are PAID ALARMIST at best! They have no decorum and publish falsehood with impunity. They practice the typical Nigerian brand of journalism and even go as far as blackmail people. I dont read crap from Saharareporters. It is too demeaning and if you have to quote them to butress your point, you have just lost a bit of respect from me. ![]() |
Akanbi_edu:I actually like your post. But the fallacy of your post is that the south west and Tinubu have been trying to sell the idea that they are actually fighting for the good of everyone. I would respect them more if they simply come out and say what they want because they do have a right to demand something for themselves. But claiming they are fighting for the Nigerian interest when they are in fact fighting for their own interest is what makes it hypocritical. And that is where people like Gbawe fall flat on their face. People like us dont hide our positions. If you ask me if GEJ was perfect I would say a loud NO! But if you ask me if he is heading in the right drection, I would say I see good signs he is. If you ask me if he satisfies my interest, I would say a loud yes. Because the north did rule us for 39 years and produced nothing and usurped our lands and resources. We want to have a say in our destiny now and for that we will support GEJ and encourage him. Does that mean we want him to loot. Far from it because if he does loot and do nothing, we will still suffer at the end even if he is our brother. The loot is not going to go into our pockets. But we do believe that for once, a good intention-ed person is at the saddle and would put in is utmost best because he has a point to prove. Believe me when I say no northern leader has a point to prove. That is why every northern leader that ruled from independence (Barring Murtala who had a very short spell) was a massive failure. I am old enough to know that. Have you noticed the barage of attacks against GEJ and his team? That my friend is a clear sign these same opposition will rather see him fail than have him succeed because what they want is not a new and better Nigeria but a Nigeria they control. Their definition of a new Nigeria is a Nigeria they completely control. This is a link to Okonjo Iweala's reply to the latest attacks. Why attack her at a time when she is about to take the Nigerian problem on.? Why have they not brought this out all this while? Is wikileaks now the bible to be taken as truth? Is Julian Assange now a saint who so love the world he is willing to change it for good? These are hypocrisies I see clearly. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/09/why-im-under-attack-okonjo-iweala/ |
^^^Dud this is a husband and wife situation. Husbands don't just wake up and kill their wives. While I will not defend the guy, we must keep our fingers crossed and not pass judgement yet. I have heard some info from family sources that suggest a lot more than the stories you are hearing. Even from the girls family. And it doesn't necessarily vindicate the guy but does give a more detailed insight into the issues. This might just be a case of a fight turned sour from an husband who has been living in hell. Remember the Nigerian ambassador to Kenya case? Now that does not justify any killing but you must not conclude that the guy is just a bare faced killer which some seem to portray. |
^^^ So what were you expecting him to say? |
People like Gbawe and this dud "above" have been shouting that PDP is trying to persecute Tinubu and that they should start with the PDP thieves first. But wait a minute. The last guys that was sent to jail was who again? Right! I remember: it was Bode George. Oh was he not PDP and is still PDP? Yeah I am right. He is very PDP. As PDP as it can get. Oh I forgot. Gbawe is suffering from short memories. He actually did celebrate the imprisonment of Bode George. But now it is Tinubu's turn and Gbawe is not happy with the corruption fight again. Gbawe please can you make up your mind. Fight corruption or not fight corruption? where do you stand? Please declare! |
VolvoS60:I appreciate the fact you were trying to be objective but you ended up being sentimental. 1. No one expects perfect power supply just a few weeks after GEJ appointed his minsters. Only unrealistic guys like you expect that. 2. There are many reasons for power failure asides power generation. Like 2 days ago, there was a surge on a high tension wire and light went of in my area. I called the PHCN guys and sent them text to report the issue and they came in a record 30mins and fixed it. They have actually been suprising me these days because they are usually jerks. There are also issues of transformer and step downs not adequate enough for whole areas and other issues. 3. I am glad you did admit the fact that people have acknowledged a marked improvement of power supply to Lagos. Between January and June we practically lived in darkness in my area and many areas around Ikeja and environs and Alimosho and Lekki. Since 2 months we have gone from barely 4 hours a day electricity to almost 24 hours electricity. If in your cynical mind, you cannot see that as remarkable and appreciate that, then you will never appreciate anything. It is so amazing that everyone on my street discuss it in hushed tones as if not to remind PHCN of the past so they dont "change their mind". 4. People like you are so biased and cynical, I pray you dont get an ulcer. Imagine you saying you didnt get electricity for 7 hours. 7 hours? shocking! Before now I didnt get electricity for 4, 5 days whole stretch! 7 hours and you are complaining. You must be a real joker. 5. What we have seen in the last 2 months is not just an increase in power supply but constant power supply where light in some cases didnt go out in 3 to 5 days stretch. Now does that mean we relax and say GEJ has gotten it totally? No, not at all. we must keep pushing him both to do more and to sustain what is being done. What you are simply doing is that you are scared and angry that he might just succeed and prove you wrong so you are ready to criticize him all the way. It is a fools en-devour and will lead you no where because the man is squarely focussed even in the midst of towering opposition and sabotage. Imagine he has not even appointed his economic team for 2 weeks and the head of the team is being furiously attacked just to distract their efforts and you come here and talk trash. What a disgrace |
^^^^^So what have you said? Of course , i understand, the normal diversionary tactics. You are a true born Naija! ![]() |
Moreover, the power sector is already recording huge success. Oh, I forgot you are typing from Vietnam. Sorry. Anyway, this is to inform you that the power project is already recording big improvements as Lagos is now enjoying huge success in power supply. some places have been enjoying 24 hours light for a while now. My friend in Lekki confirms light has not bliked for 6 days now. Something that has never happened before in the history of Nigeria. So lets keep praying for our presido to do better and sustain it. Kerosine is now between 65 and 95 Naira a litre across lagos while a few stations sell at 50 Naira. We hope that also improves with time. We need more prayers for the rail system. Forget those people who dont believe in Nigeria. Let them naturalized wherever they are, we dont care. |
texazzpete:But they haven't failed yet. They just mentioned their plans. So what failure are you taking them to task for? cynicism is a very terrible disease you know. |
How many of you will catch an armed robber that comes to your house and later allow him to go free just because he is not the only one. I dont understand the logic in these reasonings. @Gbawe and other, please answer me simply: Do you want Nigeria to change? Do you really really want corruption to stop? If Yes then why do you support some and fight others? Why not just seek all to be tried? When Gani was on Tinubu's case, was he being sponsored by OBJ or GEJ? If the trying of Tinubu will expose Jonathan, is that not better for all of us? So why not encourage it. Why try to fight it? Why are you angry about it? If Tinubu has glaring evidence to hook GEJ, then he should bring it out for us to see. Not bringing it out is even another offense on its own. I am really ashamed of those who have being preaching they want to wipe out a corrupt PDP and have shown that they are very corrupt themselves. They have only shown they are tryin to remove a spec from someone else's eyes when they have a big log in their eyes. This is shameful hypocrisy. |
Many of you here on NL in your so called quest to improve Nigeria have created a very chaotic situation where anyone can just come out now and accuse someone else of corruption and you will just start bleeping "4 legs good, 2 legs bad" continuously. Cant you see that in having a balance, we must be very cautious? It is very wrong for us to just start shouting and insulting every time we read an accusation because as much as Nigeria might have corrupt leaders, there are many who will also throw accusations for their own selfish interests. A good example was when Sahara Reporters posted a cheque paid to Obasanjo farms as money paid to bribe judges. As ridiculous as the story was and with no substantial evidence, some people applauded it as a revelation. OBJ and Uduaghan might be corrupt but that does not mean stories must be fabricated to prove they are corrupt. That was the last time I visited Sahara reporters and I don't think I will ever visit the site again. If we must fight corruption, we must fight it with clean hands. We must also fight it without bias. A situation where people in our political circle are called saints and others in other political circle are called thieves is very sad. The likes of Eko-Ile are very good at that. He would defend any accusation against ACN folks and propagate accusations against people from other political parties. It is just a sign that many of us who say we are fighting for the good of Nigeria are actually fighting for the good of our own political camps/parties And just to add that even if wikileaks reported it does not make it true. Wikileaks reports conversations from cable messages. These conversations are not necessarily truth. They are just conversations among people. Many of these are lies spoken to deceive the person hearing it. The report about Saddam Hussein having weapons of mass destruction was found to be false after Bush had relied on it to sack Saddam so tagging wikileaks report as truth is very wrong and could be disastrous. |
cap28:You are an absolute ignoramus. When did you pay it back please. give us evidence. Under military rule? You must be kiddin. dont talk from your arse please! |

Isnt it ironic that you have to 'like' his facebook page before you can insult him. Hmmm. The more the insults, the more the fanbase. A classic! |
^^^Yes. 1. Salami was a crook 2. Bode George was setup by Tinubu (obviuosly) 3. Tinubu is a schema (fair enough) 4. He has evidence to expose them when the time comes |
While I will not defend Bode George or any one, I will ask a simple question. Have you ever reviewed the Bode George case to see what it was all about? Was he ever accused of stealing anything like the south western press and many on here have been harping about? The south west just use their propaganda machinery but it will backfire soon. |
Breaking News: The Nigerian association of transformers and high tension wires, Lagos state branch have issued a notice that effective from Monday, 11 Sept 2011, it will proceed on a 3 day warning strike to protest the following: 1. That the refusal of PHCN to take the light in Lagos and environs has resulted in stress amongst his members as they have had to work overtime so their minimum wage must be reviewed upwards. 2. That the constant power supply will be credited to Goodluck Jonathan and that is unacceptable to them. 3. That the constant power supply has resulted in loss of revenues to petrol attendants and petrol stations all over Lagos. 4. That those in the generator and diesel business (like one Atiku of the Mikano fame) will be put out of business if the situation persists and their families will suffer. 5. That PHCN staff who usually collect egunje to ration light are finding life very difficult. 6. That Nigerian youths who can now find a thing or 2 to do due to availability of power will abandon playing of drafts and football on the streets thereby leading to loss in the sports department. They also wish to let Nigerians know that this action is in the interest of all Nigerians. God bless Nigeria. |
kabukabu:A completely warped mindset. Many armed robbers are very generous. does that approve their actions? Homosexuality destroys the cultural fabric of society and the family system which is the main stay of any society. any society that loses its sense of family values is on a downward spiral. That is what Europe and America are about to harvest. Their troubles have only begun. Europe is in a mess right now and America is no longer the greatest country in the world and are in a big mess. Using the logic that homos donate money to argue that they are ok is very lame. The evil they inflict on society in far worse than the good they do. The evil might not even take effect in their generation but when it matures, we will have a completely disoriented generation. |
It is interesting that people keep saying the pary that controls the whole of northern Nigeria and South east and south west will soon die. You are the ones who are fools, not Baraje. Tell me which of thes states ACn will soon take over? Enugu, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Cross Rivers, Abia, Plateau, Sokoto, Kano, Gombe, Kebbi, Kwara, Niger, Kaduna, Ebonyi, Bayelsa, etc. You guys must be very dumb to think ACN will take over these places. Get it in your head. The north does not do opposition politics. Never. They are smarter than that. Secondly, Amaechi and Akpabio have left Fashola behind in terms of performance. Even the once inept Uduaghan has started doing wonders just to impress the people of delta state. You guys dont know anything because all you do is sit if front of your computer and criticize. shior! |
So I see how ACN supporters are quick to come here and insult him while ignoring the facts he said about Tinubu and Salami, etc. Tinubu's undoing and ACN's crash will come from within and will be a product of pride, simple. |
Again you display ignorance. first, only Lagos state has started proper electronic database. When you go to the registration offices of the states, they give you paper forms and the final document you get is manually written on. Only port harcourt and Abuja has electronic cards like Lagos. When you have an issue, they have to go thru files. Secondly if the past governments did not do it, it is not GEJ fault. In fact, it is a credit to him that he has started it. Also you definitely have no knowledge of database systems. You dont just wake up and merge databases. Go read up info on data normalization and come back and post. Excel sheets and Access DBs are not the kind of databases required to run a countries vehicle registration. You have no idea of database systems obviously. If it were so easy, countries like America and Uk will not be spending mega budgets for it. I have a project that has to do with vehicle tracking so I have an idea how it works. A car registration system is about Databases, schemas, logic, business models, networking and real programming. If you dont get it right from the beginning, you will get to a point where you might have to cancel the project and start all over. Data migration is a very slow and difficult process and any mistake will lead to unreliable data and compromise the whole system. It can even lead to major chaos and court cases. Imagine a scenario where names of car owners are swap in the process. Please before you criticize, make sure you know what you are saying and calling your president a retardeen makes you a low life scum. You should be ashamed of yourself. If you were more intelligent, you wouldnt be sitting here typing on your N60, 000 laptop or desktop computer. You would be living the life on a posh apartment somewhere in Highbrow Lagos or Abuja. dunce! |
I dont understand what you are saying. How does recourse to national grid deter Lagos state from building a power station. Have you forgotten so soon about the Tinubu-Enron scam? FYI, the rule for power distribution in Nigeria gives preference to the geographical location where the power is generated. That means, Lagos state will enjoy the power from their plant first, before any other state can benefit or at least, they will enjoy a high percentage of the power they generate and they will be compensated for the power they export. So I dont know what you are talking about. The rulle is very simple. Privatisation of existing facilities is different from people or organisations like states owing new ones. Mobil and Chevron have been running private power stations for years in Akwa Ibom, Cross rivers and Bayelsa states so dont tell me the federal government is the one preventing Lagos state. Nothing is preventing them and if they tell you the FG is preventing them, then that is sheer propaganda, period! |
My friend from Lekki just confirmed that their's has been on for the past 4 days without blinking. GEJ is working! Nigeria is working! shior! if una like, make una dey criticize there until una get ulcer! |
@fork_adict or whatever your name is, I have replied you above. You dont need any other reply. |
