PoliticsRe: Imo State Guber: Rochas Okorocha Has Won! by edicolove: 4:07pm On Apr 27, 2011
I wish this happened in Akwa Ibom. Gov Akpabio rigged out Senator Udoedehe. We in Akwa Ibom may live with the killing and kidnapping for another 4yrs Cry Cry Cry Cry
You dont live in Akwa Ibom because if you do, you would know Udoedehe cannot beat Akpabio even if the election was done 20 times over. Udoedehe my foot. A former PDP senator for 8 years. what did he contribute in the senate? What did he do for his people. tell me. He is a nobody who is only trying to fan the embers of tribalism to divide the state but it wont work. After contesting the primaries with Akpabio twice and he lost, he quickly moved to the ACN and you tell me he will beat Akpabio? you must be joking. Akpabio is one of the best governors in Nigeria today. Better than Fashola as far as i am concerned. I know you will disagree but Fashola hasnt built anything new in Lagos apart from the BRT, he has only repaired stuff that was there. Alimosho is still in terrible shape. 3 toll gates in Lekki road, in a residential area. Kai that violates the rights of the people and subjects them to inhuman treatment and extortion. Well i could go on and on. Akpabio is a star. As you enter Uyo, you have to stand up and clap for this man. He is doing wonders in Akwa Ibom. So please stop talking about stuff you know nothing about.

Its like u read my mind. Judjing from the last presidential election, Imo state and Akwa Ibom state had the highest numer os rigging for PDP. I wont go into the statistics and scientific unreality of the results from those states now. But I know these guys can do anything.
Another Buhari extremist killer-supporter talking from his ass. So you believe Buhari got all those 1million plus votes from Katsina and Bauchi but Jonathan didnt get same from Imo and Akwa Ibom, abi? And you will also tell me there were no child voters or that the child voters voted PDP. You guys will never change but express has left you. This is a new Nigeria.

Please mention Abiola before Rocha
Abiola is another example of a philanthropist that was a crook. Remember ITT? Abiola was a terrible guy. He was also a good philanthropist. I dont think Rochas is that way though. At least, he doesnt sell weapons.lol
PoliticsRe: Imo State Guber: Rochas Okorocha Has Won! by edicolove: 2:54pm On Apr 27, 2011
Please Nairalanders should cross check their stories before posting. Imagine after this celebrations and congratulations, Ohakim wins, It would be very sad and embarrasing. Nobody should post a conclusive result when it hasnt been announced by INEC. it is misleading
PoliticsRe: Imo State Guber: Rochas Okorocha Has Won! by edicolove: 2:51pm On Apr 27, 2011
Wow! Don't know much about this character called ohakim, but if everybody is celebrating his defeat, then i guess it's safe to say he is a bad mfker. I beleive congratulations are in order to the people of Imo. BTW, does this mean Rochas is better or is it just a case of anyone but ohakim?
like i said b4, we pray he wins and we also pray he does better. There are no guarantees. being a philanthropist doesnt translate to good governance. Tinubu is a philantrophist while he steals Lagos dry. Pa Adedibu was a philanthropist. so is the elder Saraki. Time will tell but we can hope and expect.

The beating of priests sealed his fate. you dont do that in SE except the priest is really so bad and everyone knows it.

Very good! That man ate my N2500 and that of thousands of other imo citizens with his 10000 job scam.  I pray efcc picks him up
i mentioned this b4 that this was a big scam. those of you who paid the money and bought the scratch cards were also too gullible. i do understand most of you were under pressure but you should have known better. how can a governor collect money from job seekers. it only happens in Nigeria. the guy is a fool. he started to do a lot of projects since this year but i doubt if that can save him.
PoliticsRe: Imo State Guber: Rochas Okorocha Has Won! by edicolove: 2:17pm On Apr 27, 2011
Halleluyah to God in the highest. Now bros Rochas to the task of rescuing Imo in particular and Igboland next and finally Nigeria in general. Of course you know that your performance here will determine your success or not when you go back for the centre that you actually have your eyes on. So turn Imo into Africa's Japan and the whole Naation will support you for the centre come 2015 or 2019. Congrats Nwanne madu. Congrats Owelle. |In God Imo trusts.
I will like to caution you b4 you get carried away. Being a nice man and being a good administrator are 2 different things. I believe in the owelle but I pray his good heart translates to good governance.

Congrats to my Imo peeps !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A thousnad gbosas to you for chasing out the 419ner thug !!!!!!!!!!! The philantrophy of Rochas is legendary. If a man can do so much without executive power we can only drool at what he will do as Governors !!!! Imo peeps , una be winners !!!!!!!!!!
it was never in doubt that Rochas will beat Ohakim. Ohakim was a fraud from day one. His 10,000 jobs scam was irritating to me. Rochas on the other hand was very popular. Dont forget he has been on the national scene for a while.

PoliticsRe: Imo State Guber: Rochas Okorocha Has Won! by edicolove: 1:55pm On Apr 27, 2011
Imo people should be grateful to God that a strong opposition came forward to challange the PDP in their state, for us at Abia, its business as usual; there is no plan B. You either vote PDP or PDP, no strong or better opposition. I'm watchin the broadcast from INEC office live and its PDP all the way in ABIA, we are stuck with this misrule for another 4 years. Kudos to Rochas, well done ndi imo.
why do you people always spur propaganda. Rochas is PDP thru and thru. he contested the PDP presidential primaries in 2003 and 2007 and was even contemplating 2001 before he decided to go for Gov which was a wise choice. he only went to APGA because he couldnt get the PDP ticket. Just like Akunyili did. He is not opposition. Just be happy for him before you ACN and CPC supporters start talking PDP. Was Orji not formerly an APGA gov? very funny. he will later be back to PDP because he is the best Ibo candidate for the Presidency.

So from your several presentations, one can conclude that the President of Nigeria is as helpless in this situation as a newly-born lamb, or what exactly do you want us to take away from your continuous ranting about Buhari and what you believe to be his "army of Almajiris"?
there is actually something GEJ can do. Help split the country. But I guess most of you will start shouting he shouldnt. The president is very helpless because the truth is any action from him will be read as an action of a southerner against the north. Do you know the perpetrators of this acts actually wanted a situation where the south will do reprisal attacks and then the country will be plunged into a state of emergency setting the stage for military takeover? These guys aint fools. They have planned it a long time ago. The Ciroma committee started this whole thing. then the Imams picked it up and started preaching in their mosques that GEJ was a "kafir". An infidel. and that it was their turn to rule Nigeria. Buhari knew all this and still went ahead to tell them to lynch. Did you also notice that the week before the elections, IBB,  Atiku and Gusau joined the Ciroma group to work for the emergence of Buhari? These are supposed to be sworn enemies but they still had to agree on a northern candidate and were willing to put their differences apart to allow Buhari emerge. The mistake they made however was that they didnt realise the emergence of a new crop of northern leaders who thought differently. That was why GEJ was able to get votes from the north. now those old northern leaders have suddenly been rendered irrelevant.
PoliticsRe: Who To Blame For Post Election Violence? by edicolove: 12:25pm On Apr 27, 2011
Mr, don't let unnecessary emotions becloud your sense of reasoning and judgement. Who is justifying the killings, i am probably more concerned than you are cos i know someone who was affected. How hard is it for you to extract or discern facts from what we are saying here? I am saying these violence has nothing to do with the elections and there you go contradicting yourself (see the highlighted part of your lines). Now i implore you to bring the links to all those stuffs you said about them asking the people to say sai Buhari, so that means if one said Sai Buhari, he would not be killed right? Who in his right senses will see death coming and what could save him was just mere utter of "sai buhari" and wouldn't scream it? Come on man, you should be smarter than this! The link we all read here weekend of a brave northerner who saved some southerners was that the animals asked them to say some Islamic stuffs and not "your sai Buhari". The whole thing is not political and i repeat it again, it is not political, it is religious and tribalism which was timed with the electioneering period. Now also if Buhari is responsible, is he bigger than Nigeria, this is almost two weeks now, why hasn't he been at least summoned for questioning by the SSS or other security operatives as  they usually do? What i am saying and will continue to say is that the government has failed in their duty to provide security to the common masses of the federal republic of Nigeria, if nothing is done and you come here shouting Buhari all day, it will not change anything, let the Government do something and fast for that matter. An ordinary legislator, even a commissioner goes around with about 10-20 fully armed mobile policemen and soldiers, why can't they just make sure that one fully armed soldier is responsible for at least 100 people in that heated region? Think, think!
What part of the english language dont you understand. I said the murderers were killing people and shouting "sai Buhari" as they murdered their victims. You can read the story of the brave patriotic northerner again and open your eyes this time. How can you say the violence had nothing to do with the elections?

1. Was there any violence like that in the north b4 the elections? Jos crisis was a tribal one. Did you not see the difference between that and this one?
2. Did the almajiris that were arrested not say that they did what they did because of the "purported rigging"
3. If is was not about elections, will they have attacked northerners who were members of PDP? have you ever seen a riot where the northerners attacked their own leaders b4?

what are you talking about? please stop justifying the murders. for every murder you justify, the blood of the innocent will be on your hands. period!
PoliticsRe: Delta State Gubernatorial Elections by edicolove: 12:23pm On Apr 27, 2011
You seem to hate ACN therefore clouding your judgement and making you sound bias. I believe they have done wonderfully well for themselves especially with regards to toppling pdp government in the west.

Ogboru won't win now, I hope I'm wrong but moving to pdp. . . I don't really think he will be welcomed and even if he is, it will get his supporters infuriated and cloth them with the feeling of betrayal, instead I prefer he remains in DPP, let the PDP people come to him, thereby making the party stronger, Nigeria needs to be a strong multi-party state. Decamping to the PDP will only make a giant stronger and will definitely wipe DPP out at the state level.
you are right. I hate ACN because they are a tribal party. i live in Lagos so I know they are a tribal party. I also know they are hypocrites. Tinubu is one of the most corrupt politicians in Naija.

You forget that Ogboru tried to challenge Ibori in PDP but changed party when he couldnt. He used to be in PDP. I prefer a reformed PDP to a sectional party. I dont like tribal parties. they cant go far. You also forget that some of the best governors are still PDP govs. Akpabio, Donald Duke, Amaechi, Aliyu Mohammed, Sulivian Chime. So the propaganda that PDP is all bad is an ACN propaganda that gained prominence because the west control most of Nigeria's press. The Nation is Tinubu's paper, Compass is Gbenga Daniel and so on.
PoliticsRe: Delta State Gubernatorial Elections by edicolove: 11:58am On Apr 27, 2011
Ogboru will never be governor unless he changes the way he does his things, he should change to ACN and liase more with them to know how they achieved their success.
what success? that they control  some Yoruba states and Edo which has always been part of the south west? Spare me. ACN is a failed sectional party like CPC. I would have preferred a situation where Ogboru wins, decamps to the PDP and control the PDP machinery in Delta, then you can talk of real progress.

You cannot divert attention from my post with your diversionary tactics however you try. You cannot trivialize the posts by trying to shift the focus to an argument on Thisday. That is a cheap try.
PoliticsRe: Delta State Gubernatorial Elections by edicolove: 11:35am On Apr 27, 2011
One day I'm hoping it will happen in delta state. I don't see it happening through ACN though, as the party is a mess here, Ogboru should shift base to ACN, its popular but the pine apple is very very popular in delta state especially amongst the elderly.
Like I said before, we need mass awareness not ACN. ACN is the worst party in Nigeria. No democracy in ACN. That will be a recipe for disaster in a state like Delta. Oshiomole hand picked all the candidates in Edo state. Tinibu hand picked al the candidates in the south west. You cant do that in Delta. ACN primaries was full of killings. Five people died in Owan LGA alone. Most of the members of ACN in Edo are former PDP members. Always get your facts before you comment. Almost the whole state assembly members decamped to ACN from PDP. Politics is a dirty game and I usually laugh when some people try to paint some politicians as holy and others as criminal. They are all the same. You need to understand the politics of a place b4 you comment. The quarrel between Igbinedion, Ogbemudia and Anenih was what worked in favour of Oshiomole in Edo state. It will interest you to know that the ACN campaign in Edo state in 2007 was sponsored by Lucky and his father. At the time, they had infighting with Anenih and Osunbor.

Well i cant go into much details, but the point is, the same scenario does not exist in Delta. If you love Ogboru, then you must start to create the necessary awareness needed to give him Delta state vote.
PoliticsRe: Who To Blame For Post Election Violence? by edicolove: 11:22am On Apr 27, 2011
Those who continue to justify murders and destruction by attributing it to purported rigging and the faiure of govt will share in the blood of those who were killed. Like a columnist said in Thisday, they have trivialized the death of innocent people and glorified the so-called reason for the genocide. Posterity will require the blood from your hands.

1. You are justifying a premeditated murder and destruction that started on Saturday night in Gombe when results where not even collated. By Sunday night, half of the north was already burning. Results were announced on Monday.
2. You are justifying an incitement to violence by Buhari when he went on air on Saturday and started saying the elections were already rigged. After he had told the mob during his campaign that they should lynch anyone who rigged.
3. You are justifying the barbaric slaughter of innocent Youth Corpers and pastors with the cry of "sai Buhari". Those cutlasses were coming down the necks of those innocents under the cry of "sai Buhari". Heaven will judge.
4. You are justifying the violence that erupted because a southerner won an election. The same violence that never was when Yaradua won in 2007 even after most people said the election was a sham.
5. You are justifying the burning of churches that had nothing to do with the elections.

Posterity will judge all of you. Most of you stay abroad and write all this stuff. But may posterity judge all of you that have tried to trivialize the death of Okporokiri and Ikechukwu who were mowed down just because they refused to allow underage voting and mass thumb printing by CPC supporters. Anyone who continues to justify their death will have their blood on his hands. You can insult me all you like, but what goes around comes around.
PoliticsRe: Delta State Gubernatorial Elections by edicolove: 11:06am On Apr 27, 2011
Very correct, Ogboru is not yet ready to be governor. Dpp youth have asked him to give the go ahead to rig but he has refused, ok give us the go ahead to kill pdp riggers at sight, he said no. If he had agreed, as the warri trinity is coming out, sapele, ughelli north and south, ethiope east and west, ika and so on will be emerging this morning and we will know who has the last laugh.
Statements like these are very shameful. It shows you were definitely not around during the Ijaw-Itshekiri fight and the Itshekiri-Urhobo fight. You just come out and say stupid things. Have you ever seen violence? Like I said before, I dont like Uduaghan, but voting him out would only have been possible with on the ground crusade and alliances across the state. If you want to go violent, I will caution you because the Ibori boys will completely massacre you. You cannot match them. I talk from good knowledge. Dont even go there. We need mass awareness not people like you advocating for violence.
PoliticsRe: Delta State Gubernatorial Elections by edicolove: 9:23am On Apr 27, 2011
pdp's new strategy does not care about early leads. if you look at Bakare's accusations, it has to do with the final stages. they do their usual(rigging) at the final stages. so great ogburu will lead in every where as long as it is this early stage, but when it gets to the final stage, uduagham and pdp will lead.
pdp ---------------------------- power
free and fair elections all the way.
How can you take Bakare seriously. A pastor that excuses the killing of Christians can never be taking seriously. the guy has completely disgraced himself and posterity will judge him.c

As for Uduaghan, i dont like him but it is wrong for people to say things like if he wins, it must be rigging and if he looses then its free and fare. This was the same kind of wrong statements Buhari was making that led to the murders and destructions. Elections are not won by assumptions on a forum. They are won by people on the ground. Being from delta state, I dont like Uduaghan, but the opposition has not had enough alliances to win the PDP. most of the anioma people will continue to vote PDP, same goes for most of Ijaws and Itshekiris. It is not enough to like somebody, the political calculations and alliances determine who wins elections not how nice a person looks. Ogboru has not really reached out to these segments of people. I will be surprised if he wins. It is the same thing Buhari did, relying on his popularity with Almajiris in the north. He never even bothered to campaign in the SE and SS. He had minimal campaigns in the SW. So how was he supposed to win? GEJ the whole time was ramming his campaign down the throats of every Nigerian from North to South.

We should always make balanced political comments, not sentimental ones.

IBB won’t be president in 2007 –Bakare
By Ademola Oni
Monday, 2 Oct 2006

The Serving Overseer of The Latter Rain Assembly, Lagos, Pastor Tunde Bakare, on Sunday said the dream of a former military President, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, to rule the nation in 2007 would fail.

Bakare, who spoke at a special programme of the church titled, ‘If the truth must be told” in Lagos, said the script to install Babangida was already being acted out.

He said, “As it is right now, only God can stop IBB from becoming the president of this nation again. You are likely to disagree but the strategy to bring him back has been perfected and the script is being acted out.

“But there is good news there because God has shown me how to stop him.”

The cleric, who did not tell his audience the strategy to stop the Minna-based General from becoming the president in 2007, added that none of the presidential front runners would make Aso Rock.

Bakare said, “Let me tell you the truth by the spirit of God, neither (President Olusegun Obasanjo), OBJ, Atiku (Abubakar), IBB and this tall one, (Muhammadu) Buhari are part of the new. They are part of the old that is decaying. That old one is passing away. The new is emerging and these ones are not part of that new.”

The pastor, whose prophecy in 1999, shortly after Obasanjo was elected president, caused a major outcry, said the prophecy was not informed by hatred for the person of the President or a dislike for the country.

He said, “I love my country and I love the President. I pray for my country too on regular basis. I do not wish Obasanjo or any other person any evil. But my concern is for my country and what God has put in my heart to tell the nation. I suppose that the over 1,000 pastors that gathered to pray against the March 7, 1999 prophecy now know better.”

Making references to his 1993 and 1999 prophecies, Bakare declared that only the counsel of God would prevail in the nation’s situations.

“When God warns his people, he only wants them to repent of their evil ways and seek forgiveness. God is not interested in killing anybody,” he said.

Supporting his message with illustrations, the pastor said those who “balanced the equation” in the deaths of (Sani) Abacha and MKO (Abiola) were still around and could play a major role in the present crisis rocking the Presidency.

Bakare in his statements couched in deep analogies, said of Nigeria’s present scenario, “By the present exposures that are going on between the President and his deputy, vipers eggs are being hatched, spiders’ webs are being woven. At the end, these will heat up the polity, heat up the system and make the nation ungovernable.

“It is also clear that your accomplice in crime will expose you.”

He warned against blood bath, saying that the nation could not afford another civil war.

On the leadership the nation desires, he said, “We do not need dishonest leaders, who are clever by half; who live in denials. We must reject body language politics in Nigeria. We do not need people who confuse personal account with the nation’s account.”

How could a mob brandishing sticks and machetes overrun a police station?

Heads should roll for this. The top sheriff of the state and the ASP of the division should be questioned. This is very unfortunate.
@Obiagu1
When they call out Nigerians, someone like you will answer.

I wonder why you're still on this forum, you don't know anything about Nigeria and you do not contribute anything meaningful but hate.
my brother no vex. i apologise for the guy. he grew up in an orphanage somewhere in new york and was told he is from Nigeria so he started googleing around about Nigeria. unfortunately, most of what he got were comments from different boards like NL, that was where he formed his opinions from. so forgive his stupidity. He probably even thinks we have mayors. lol

THEY BETTER CHANGE FROM CPC TO ANOTHER NAME OR ELSE THAT PARTY WILL GO DOWN THE DRAIN IN THE FUTURE.

NOBODY FROM SE/SW WILL VOTE FOR THAT PARTY AGAIN
Honestly this is the biggest irony of it all. CPC has actually shot themselves in the head. With this violence, they will never get votes from the SW, SE, SS and NC again. Lets see how they will win any election again with NE and NW. Even if they win all the governorship elections in these 2 zones, which they cannot, they are doomed to be a sectional party that can never produce the president of Nigeria again.

Some people do not for their selfish interest want the unity of this country-Nigeria. Please the Moderators of this forum should ban 'edicolove' the originator of this false alarm for actions unbecoming of a patriotic Nigerian and immediately change the title of this thread before it appear on the Home Page to:
"About 2 Corps Members Died In Active Service On National Service ". Thank you.
There is no point taking you seriously as it is apparent Buhari supporters are just like him. inhuman and bloodthirsty. It is shameful you couldnt even see this was a Thisday front page news piece. The news is right now out there on the news stands all over the country. You cannot bury the truth however you try. if you think you can cover up this gruesome murder and genocide, you are mistaken. enough is enough. if you want the unity of this country, you will not be slaughtering corpers like rams while shouting "Sai Buhari". For every one that was killed with the shout of "sai Buhari", their blood will be on his head.

@zstranger

please please please with all due respect, stop commenting on these issues. you obviously have no clue. there is nothing like Ibo cult members killing yoruba activists. please please please. I attended UNIBEN and was a member of student's union so i have first hand knowledge. as bad as cultism is in Naija, it is hardly tribal. All the cults have members from all tribes. please dont say things you know nothing about. NYSC should be scraped. it is a project that will not succeed as long as we have the kind of mentality prevalent in the north

Ukeoma Ikechukwu, on his facebook page, made a recommendation to his friends. He urged them to watch the video: “A Soldier's Silent Night”. In his words, it is a “very heart-wrenching video everyone should see”. It is the touching story of an American soldier observing Christmas in a lonely world far away from friends and family—in the service of his fatherland. Well, Ikechukwu is dead. He was murdered in cold blood by rioters who said they were protesting against the results of last Saturday’s presidential election. Ikechukwu was wasted in far-away Bauchi: lonely, terrified, kilometres away from friends and family—in the service of his fatherland as a youth corps member. It is a heart-wrenching story everyone should hear.

His last phone calls were described as coming from “someone in distress”. His last post on his facebook wall was on Sunday, April 17, a day after the election, at 6:48am, via mobile web. He wrote (unedited): "Na wao! This CPC supporters would hv (have) killed me yesterday, no see threat oooo. Even after forcing underaged voters on me they wanted me to give them the remaining ballot paper to thumb print. Thank God for the police and am happy i could stand for God and my nation. To all corps members who stood despite these threats esp. In the north bravo! Nigeria! Our change has come."
He was reported missing that day by friends and finally confirmed dead Friday, with thousands of tributes flowing across the social network sites.

He was not alone. Six other youth corps members were confirmed killed in Bauchi, where the candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, polled 1,315,209 votes (or 81.69 per cent), defeating President Goodluck Jonathan (of the Peoples Democratic Party) who scored 258,404 votes and did not even hit the 25 per cent mark. The corps members were reportedly chased to a police station where they sought refuge. But the rioters, who were said to be chanting “Sai Buhari”, overran the station and killed the young Nigerians.

The story of Obinna Okpokiri is as heart-wrenching as Ikechukwu’s. The 27-year-old was butchered and burnt to ashes—in the service of his fatherland. Okpokiri’s own circumstances were as gruesome as they could be. He had reportedly run to the Corpers’ Lodge as the rampaging rioters targeted the youth corps members who were the polling officers recruited by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the general election. As death loomed, the young Nigerians contemplated fleeing to the barracks, the only sanctuary in times of mob insanity. But they were not lucky enough. The rioters caught up with them, beat them up, slaughtered the ones they could and set them on fire. Human beings. Future leaders on the last lap of fulfilling statutory requirement before starting their careers. Slaughtered. Sliced. Soaked in petrol. Scorched. Reduced to ashes in the most callous fashion.
Okpokiri could have been in the United Kingdom savouring life some other way and living in the safety of a society that would go to any length to protect its citizens. He chose to return to his fatherland after acquiring a post-graduate degree in the UK. He chose to do the mandatory national youth service. He chose to obey the posting to Bauchi State, as against the mass hysteria of changing posting.

And, as it were, he chose to die.
The story of Ikechukwu and Okpokiri, mowed down in their infancies, is re-igniting calls for the scrapping of the NYSC—a body created in 1976 ironically to foster national unity. The corps members always appear to be the primary targets in ethno-religious riots in some parts of the country. There is now an online petition being mobilised to ask for the withdrawal of youth corps members from violent states, while some are calling for the outright scrapping of the scheme in the interest of safety and protection of the lives of the young graduates.

According to his profile, Ikechukwu worked at His Grace Network Limited as a manager, and studied at the University of Nigeria Nsukka between 2006 and 2010. He did his secondary school at National High School, Aba, from 1997 to 2003. His favourite quote, according to him, was: “When wealth is lost, nothing is lost. When health is lost, something is lost but when character is lost, all is lost.” His choice of music was “anything inspiring” and his favourite book was the Bible.
He seemed to have a strong religious bent, listing among his interests Dr. Tunde Bakare whom he called “Apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God”. (Ironically, Bakare is Buhari’s running mate.) He also listed House on The Rock (his church, it has turned out), Pastor Sunday Adelaja, The Experience Lagos (a yearly Christian music festival), Myles Munroe, and Pastor Bimbo Odukoya among his “interests”.

An anonymous writer wrote on Okpokiri in a blog Friday: "Let's all give a moment of silence and think about the senseless loss of Obinna Okpokiri, 27 years of age, Estate Management graduate, Abia State University, butchered and burnt in Bauchi state. Can he be brought back? No, never, not ever! , I did not know Obinna directly but we had mutual friends here in London. Until recently Obinna was here in the UK, at his family expense, to pick up a post graduate qualification. Obi, as I will call him for the rest of this write up, like every young man had dreams and hopes and one of such was to go back and complete the mandatory NYSC. As a result he packed his bags, paid his way back to Nigeria to serve his fatherland in Bauchi where he was posted to do his National Youth Service.”
For Ikechukwu and Okpokiri, it is silent night. It is a heart-wrenching story.

BTW Gideon Orkah died over 20yrs ago
A typo. I meant henry orkah.

That a group of people came out and called themselves MEND doesnt make then MEND. MEND has accepted amnesty and there is no more MEND. Those doing the bombings are sponsored impostors and we know who they are. Did you not see how they were easilly fished out and arrested. They are not MEND. When last did you hear of any bombings in the Niger Delta? Well it is sad some of you think the south will continue to take this your murderous provocation for ever without response. you will be making the mistake of your lives.
