If anyone associated with MEND is eventually convicted for the bombing should GEJ be charged with perverting the course of justice?GEJ was right and is still right, MEND DID NOT CARRY OUT THE ATTACKS. GIDEON ORKAH IS NOT THE LEADER OF MEND. The people only used mend's name. All the leaders of mend has accepted amnesty. How can you say it is mend when Jomo Gbomo and others were not part of it. The President knew what he was saying but only calmed down because he didnt want to overheat the polity. He is very correct. Henry Orkah was the one supplying all the Militants with weapons. He was only trying to protect his interest. He didnt support the amnesty program because it destroys his business. |
When i read through most of the responses on this thread I fur1ther weep for my beloved Nigeria. The level of hypocrisy is alarming.@egift You are a complete idiot and an evil person to have started a post like this. you are making a mockery of those that were massacred. you are nothing but a terrorist. posts like these might get you killed. You do not know the pains people feel right now else you wouldnt say the kind of things you are saying. i feel sorry for you if you are found out. @hercules07 You can go on and make fun of people that were slaughtered in 2 because you are on an Internet thread. God help you if you are found out. After a very free and fair election like this, it is obvious that bb supporters were not looking for a good election. they just wanted to intimidate and stampede the rest of us into accepting their desires. the very same strategies used by terrorists in the Arab world. But they are making a grave mistake. They will get whats coming to them, very soon. There was no rigging anywhere except in the north were under aged voters were voting for CPC and terrorizing corpers. Buhari will never be able to visit southerns Nigeria again. marks my words. except a whole battalion will have to guard him. |
The Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] has postponed governorship and House of Assembly elections in Kaduna and Bauchi states from April 26 to April 28, 2011, citing security concerns arising from the recent post election violence that swept through parts of Nigeria's northern region early this week. http://www.spotlightnigeria.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=484:inec-postpones-elections-in-two-states&catid=34:politics&Itemid=55 |
Jega did the right thing by postponing the elections Bauchi and Kaduna, but he should do more by not using the corps members in those villages. Has Jega heard of the PDP system of using Palm Kernel to thumb print ballot papers? It is exactly like thumb print.talking from your ass again? |
Let PDP repeat what it did last Saturday on 26th April and every corners and crannies of this country will witness anarchy Unprecedented in the electoral history of this nation. Look out for the states in SS and SE where opposition is very strong. They together knew how GEJ was rigged into power, I think no party will want to be outsmarted come Tuesday.deluded cpc supporters who think the Ibos will be so silly to vote for a silly almajiri leader who encourages their slaughter. you are truly deluded. get off your computer and get real facts on the ground. the only votes cpc got last week from SE and SS were from mallams selling kola and onions. there is very little oposition in SS and SE. the few people who have gotten a little attention as opposition are ex-PDP members who didnt get tickets in PDP. Ngige is ex-PDP. Akpan-Udoedehe from akwa ibom lost to akpabio in the PDP primaries before decamping. check all the other candidates of the opposition, 80% or more of them are disgruntled PDP members. The only opposition in the SE is APGA and APGA endorsed GEJ. There is no opposition on the ground in SS. They are all PDP states and their governors have all done very well so they will be returned by the people. dont deluded yourself. did you see anybody complaining in the south? no because they know they voted and their vote counted. it was all congratulations in lagos. everyone was very happy. in a boot near my house, PDP recorded about 3810 votes to beat second place acn with 256 votes and cpc with 85 votes. cpc my foot. the anarchy will only happen in your dreams. |
One thing that is really sad about CPC is that they are sore losers. already whining before results are out. shame |
Tinubu, Fashola Lose Wards to Jonathan http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/04/amid-presidential-poll-monitors-allege-intimidation-underage-voting/ |
Our morally bankrupt SS and SE people are busy doctoring their results now.it is a shame that you come here and insult a whole tribe and section of the country. and you say that Nigeria is one? it is sad |
how did they know he voted Buhari when you vote secretly except it was during the vote count and it doesn't surprise me .a proof of bb supporters using propaganda technic. you cannot know what someone voted. |
What's happening in South South and South East.you shouldnt insult any tribe or section of Nigeria. you shouldnt act like Buhari. respect all Nigerians wherever they are from. dont make derogatory statements about other sections of Nigeria |
You lied in your claim. Below is the result from where i voted today. The bold one is the unit I voted.how can i lie, i am not reporting anything. only commenting on something someone said. abi you no do English for school? |
Got this from the BB Facebook Page:with all due respect those bb facebook guys are posting fake results. it is unbecoming of them to engage in propaganda. just be honest. if you really claim that Buhari is a honest man, you should be honest |

Continue reading the main story Nigeria votes: 2011 * Voting round-up * Free vote challenge * Explore Nigeria: Chaos amid oil * Q&A: Nigeria elections Former military ruler Muhammadu Buhari does not seem to know when to quit. Defeated in the last two elections, first by President Olusegun Obasanjo in 2003 and then by President Umaru Yar'Adua in 2007, he has returned to contest Nigeria's highest office. Mr Buhari is now facing the incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan, who is from Nigeria's southern Niger Delta region. Mr Buhari is hoping that dissatisfied members from the northern hierarchy of the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP), may shift their loyalty to him. Many members of the northern hierarchy feel it is "their turn" to hold the presidency, after President Yar'Adua, who is from the same northern state as Mr Buhari, died in office. Although Mr Buhari is popular among the poor of the north (known as the "talakawa" in the north's Hausa language) mere popularity on the streets may not be enough to win. It is far from clear whether Mr Buhari has the political power he will need to beat the PDP. Suspicion A Muslim from Daura in Katsina State, who has given his support to Sharia law in the north, Mr Buhari has previously had to deny allegations that he has a radical Islamist agenda. This proved a problem for him in the 2003 polls; he failed to secure much support among Christians in the south, where he was viewed with some suspicion. Continue reading the main story Muhammadu Buhari * Age 68 * Military ruler of Nigeria from 1984 to 1985 * Deposed in a coup * Poor human rights record * Seen as incorruptible * Muslim from northern Nigeria * Elections: Full coverage Mr Buhari is mounting his assault on the presidency with the newly formed party, Congress for Progressive Change (CPC). His former party, the All National Nigerian People's Party (ANPP) accepted the result of the 2007 elections, which angered Mr Buhari. He resigned from the ANPP in 2009, following a lengthy court battle which upheld President Yar'Adua's victory. The CPC is mounting serious challenges in elections to select governors in many states. But it is unlikely that the opposition can mobilise enough support to win on a national scale. Without an alliance with Nigeria's other opposition party, Action Congress of Nigeria, (ACN), a serious challenge to the presidency remains doubtful. Talks to form a "grand alliance" have repeatedly failed, and the media in Nigeria have all but written it off, citing disagreements between Mr Buhari and the ACN's leaders. Mr Buhari has ruled Nigeria once, from January 1984 until August 1985. Neat queues He took charge after a military coup in December 1983. It is a period remembered for human rights abuses and a fight against corruption. Posters of former military ruler Muhammadu Buhari and his running mate Tunde Bakare at Mapo square, Ibadan, south-west Nigeria March 14, 2011 Muhamamdu Buhari may struggle to gain many votes in the south The verdict on Mr Buhari's 20 months as Nigeria's leader is mixed. About 500 politicians, officials and businessmen were jailed as part of a campaign against waste and corruption. Some saw this as the heavy-handed repression of military rule. But others remember it as a praiseworthy attempt to fight the endemic graft that prevented Nigeria's development. He retains a rare reputation for honesty among Nigeria's politicians, both military and civilian, largely because of this campaign. As part of his "War Against Indiscipline", he ordered Nigerians to form neat queues at bus stops, under the sharp eyes of whip-wielding soldiers. Civil servants who were late for work were publicly humiliated by being forced to do "frog jumps". Continue reading the main story “Start Quote If you choose correct leadership, there won't be any need for the military regime” End Quote Muhammadu Buhari, Oct 2005 He also introduced a notorious decree to restrict press freedom, under which two journalists were jailed. However, his attempts to re-balance public finances by curbing imports led to many job losses and the closure of businesses. Prices rose while living standards fell, leading to a palace coup by Gen Ibrahim Babangida on 27 August 1985. Mr Buhari was imprisoned for 40 months. Mr Babangida, who still retains an active role in Nigeria's politics wanted to speed up the restoration of civilian rule, which Mr Buhari did not see as a priority. Mr Buhari has continued to defend his military coup of 31 December 1983. "It is up to the people. If you choose correct leadership, there won't be any need for the military regime. "The military came in when it was absolutely necessary and the elected people had failed the country," he said in October 2005. When former President Olusegun Obasanjo was a military ruler in the 1970s, Mr Buhari held the key post of minister of petroleum affairs, but there is now little love lost between the former colleagues. His coup ousted Nigeria's last civilian government, led by Alhaji Shehu Shagari, who won elections organised by Mr Obasanjo. And this has led to continuing questions about Mr Buhari's commitment to democracy. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-12890807 |
Quoted from Buhari Facebook fanpage: In my pollin center at Lagos Agege local gov ward c . CPC 192 PDP 62 ACN 45. I doubt it thougha big scam and propaganda. CPC beat ACN in Lagos? funny joke. Even the ACN supporters in the ward I voted admitted this was not their election. they just kept saying we should come back next week and see |
Privatizing PHCN is not the solution, Tinubu gave us the solution 8 years ago but PDP or should I say Obasanjo killed it. The solution is to allow other power companies exist side by side with PHCN, Enron was coming to do that but Obasanjo frustrated it.NITEL existed side by side with MTN, Econet and Glo but couldn't survive the competition. That is the type of competition the power industry needs. There is a lot of money to be made in the power sector of Nigeria, so I believe the private companies will make the investment if the environment is rightplease dont say this again. it is falsehood. enron was not a solution. enron was a conduit for Tinubu to steal Lagos dry. it was a big scam and everyone in Lagos knows that. Tinubu was a crook. please stop eulogising him. |
CPC is doing badly in the south west I just finished voting and counting was completed around 4pm Ojodu ward 015 PDP 178 ACN 55 CPC 45 PPP 2 PDC 2 VOID 12 11 of the void were PDP. they were void mainly because the voters thumb printed accross the lines 1 void was CPC I think GEJ will sweep Lagos and I dont think CPC will get the required 25% in most of south west. Those saying the north has the majority should go and check the number of voters. the difference is not much and GEJ just needs 25% in most of North West to win. |
there are too many children and childish posts in NL |
@Akpuoru your analysis is very correct. the only thing i will add is that, the north is not really one like we view it over in the south. the north is a very divided place. actually more divided than the south. in the past, they voted as one but than has since changed. the north central for example have broken free because they feel very marginalized though they have been the real power and engine of the north since independence. secondly, many assume that the north is mahorly muslims but it is north very true. states like Niger, Bauchi, Borno and Gombe have large christian populations but these christian populations have been very silent in the past but they are beginning to show up their faces in recent times. thirdly is the long fight between the north east and the north west. The Nupe kingdom, I think, and the Sultanate. they have come together to forge a common front in the past but things are beginning to fall apart as evident in the NASS elections. remember when both IBB and Abacha started toiling with the sultanate. that is why Shagari has been giving his support to GEJ because Shagari is from the Sultan family. Kano is a different kettle of fish. they are so independent. they have never followed the ruling party in the north since independence. they have always had their own mind. remeber the PRP days? so there is a lot to look at. I wont predict anything here but it will be interesting how it pans out. but i can guarantee one thing with my experience of the north, there will never be a block vote. you can take my word on that. |
bb supporters are very funny duds, lol They come out, say a lot of crap and mumble a lot of stuff and call it truth. You come out, counter them and state your own opinions and they say you should show proof. They are trying to be judge and prosecutor at the same time. They always try to shout you down. well that is how Buhari is, so i am not surprised. |
now before we get carried away @aribisa, what a question, your question sound so silly to me and does not really need an answer, fashola has tried and if at all you want to criticise you do that constructively, what have you contributed to the society or your enviroment in the past 4 years, and juxtapose that with fasholas achievement, nd you would see fashola is an achiever, you see been a member of a political party does not mean you should sound so silly or act blindly, please lets be realistic and quiet pragmatic in whatever we say of post, lets engage in indepth thinking before posting any comment.if you dont know what he has achieved then you must be a big fool for such a question, so irritating and an unintelligent question to ask, @aribisal your intelligence quotient is quiet low, less dan 20%,why has NL become a place for insults and name calling. honestly i am beginning to think maybe I should just stick to other forums where people discuss intelligently without hurling insults. It also shows how we have become as a country. that is why some of us dont mind being flogged on the streets. It a a bad national psyche. It is a low self esteem problem. @aribisa just asked a simple question. all you could have done was list it for him. is that too hard to do. or you can also ignore it. what you dont realise is that by not listing it and instead hurling insults at him, you give credibility to the assumption that there aren't much achievements. cant we all just get along? even if we dont believe the same things, cant we agree to disagree? |
Hmmm. 'Great' analysis from someone who knows that yorubas make up less than 20% of Lagos stateYou dont have to agree with me but it is fact. Most people speak Yoruba in Lagos but that doesnt mean they are Yoruba. Most area boys in surulere are Ibos and Ndelta. I can give myself a little margin of error say around 1 in 4 at best. |
The biggest fallacy of these discussions is that PDP is the problem of Nigeria. Do you know that about 4 governorship candidates from other parties are former PDP members who didnt get the primary tickets? If you go around saying PDP is your problem, then you know nothing. All the parties are the same. Parties like ACN are even worse off. ACN is currently the most corrupt and the most undemocratic party in Nigeria. Imagine a party that fielded Atiku as a presidential candidate. They have perfected the act of rigging far more than PDP. That is why Nigerians no longer vote party. they vote individuals. |
We rarely think that people have good sense unless they agree with us. LA ROCHEFOUCAULD |
We rarely think that people have good sense unless they agree with us. LA ROCHEFOUCAULD |
Tinubu is not the reason Fashola has performed well. Tinubu is actually the reason Fashola has not performed very well. Alimosho is in a mess and Fashola is hated there. they chased away his campaign people. but I believe if Tinubu has not been overbearing and trying to control all Lagos money thru intimidation and blackmail, Fashola would have done better. Tinubu is not liked in Lagos except by some Yorubas and Yorubas does not constitute the majority in Lagos. |
Nairalanders are one of the worst group of analysts Naija has. they cant even see that most of their predictions failed in the NASS elections and they are still predicting more. The problem is that they read newspapers like Daily trust and form their opinions from there. How can a Nigerian even take Daily trust seriously. They are a tabloid at best. A gossip newspaper. I feel sorry for all ya. First and foremost, GEJ does not even need an alliance from ACN. did you see the Saturday results? I wonder how you guys analyze things. The ACN only won in Ogun and Oyo because of the split in the PDP. Cant you see that if you combine the votes of PPN and PDP, they beat ACN hands down? that means ACN or Tinubu is not in control of the south west like some are claiming else ACN would have cleared majority of the votes. same goes for the votes of accord party and PDP in Oyo. If they can get their acts together and settle their differences, they will whip ACN. Ondo is going to GEJ since labour is fully behind him. they will never vote ACN. I am not a PDP supporter but the analysis i see on these boards are funny and will continue to be wrong as long as you guys keep looking thru sentimental glasses. Ekiti is just like Oyo. without infighting, it will go PDP. Lagos will be won by GEJ. Did you see how many votes CPC got? and the most stupid analysis of Lagos i always hear is that Lagos is Yoruba driven. The non indigenes in Lagos outnumber the Yoruba by over 5 to 1. The only reason Yorubas still rule Lagos is because most non indigenes dont care much and dont normally take voting seriously. Many of them will be coming out on saturday and you will see a different voting pattern. Surulere is predominantly Ibo. Apapa and environs are predominantly Niger Delta and middle belt. Ketu, Oshodi have a high Ibo and south south population and so on. Most of them are bracing up for sartuday. most of these people dont care about senatorial or house of assembly elections. they dont care much about governorship too. and many of them like Fashola too. You guys need to do better analysis if you want to predict well. really. |
Win or lose, with a credible election President GEJ would become an important force on the Nigerian landscape for a long time to come. However, winning through a fraudulent election would cause all hell to break loosewhy are you repeating the obvious. GEJ has promised free and fair election and he has delivered. what do you want again. give the guy his credit and stop hating. Buhari didnt even have a plan back to democracy after 20 months in office. Tinubu couldnt even conduct free and fair elections in his party. haba. sai Goodluck. sai Nigeria! |
I Think your being unfair. The only thing any objective Nigerian should judge the ACN with is the performance of its representatives in public office. Fashola is the best Governor in Nigeria, Oshiomhole is doing well, Aregbesola has hit the ground running and Fayemi has had an assured start !!! That is the truth of affair on the ground. Not one out of all the Governors the ACN has provided is a crass, looting and misruling misfit in the mould of the many supplied bythe PDP !!! Shall we count how many PDP Governors are pi.ss poor out of the many Governors they have provided Nigeria with? Probably much quicker to just count the few PDP governors who are performing rather than list the many who are not !!!!!!! Just give ACN the benefit of the doubt , going by what we can all see that gives us hope , and be fair in your talk . That is all.You are very delusional my guy. Donald Duke remains the best gov since 1999. Amaechi can match Fashola any day. Chime is a hero. You sit in south west here and spew crap. Aregbesola is a thug and a crook. The same ACN guys ruled under AD from 1999-2003 and they were rubbish. The same Fashoa you are praising has been messed up by the same ACN guys for the last 2 years. They called him corrupt and all sorts of name just because Tinubu wanted to pocket lagos money. Now a PDP president has organised oneof the best elections the country has ever seen. please please dont make a fool of yourslef by posting crap on NL. right now PDP is in a better standing than AC and dont forget they would have swept Ogun and Oyo if not for the divisions in the party there. |
The first set of results were the true results but all the delayed ones were doctored. If you look at the pattern, joy and video coverage of the first set of results you would believe that it was free and fair.Call any village woman in Imo State and ask if they voted PDP.Infact I got a call from one of the PDP guys in Imo yesterday telling me that ACN won Orlu,APGA won Owerri and Okigwe but they were looking for ways to manipulate the results.you are really outdated. apart from ngige in anambra, no ibo man will make Tinubu his godfather. you are clueless. the first set of results were south west results and ACN won as expected. what if i tell you they rigged Alimosho because I know they did but it is not relevant. only sore losers like you say such things. please congratulate Nigerians for voting leaders of their choice. the whole world is congratulating Naija. dont be left behind. abi you wan carry last like Buhari? |
He has not shown nothing of a trust.Imo State,Anambra and Abia State were either rigged or wrong result announced. So when you loose it is rigged and when you win it is free and fair, abi? you lot are sore losers. do the honorable thing like bankole (i cant believe i am even crediting him for this) and congratulate the winners. |
Lol, trust GEJ,Which result are you talking about again? the one PDP swept and CPC failed? You have started your propaganda again. even ANPP had the same senate seats as CPC. na wa o |
I'll like to remind you that Tinubu is not contesting.what has Tinubu done? nothing my friend. you want to compare him to Donald duke or Rotimi Amaechi? Tinubu would do a one kilometer road and use 10 million to print posters talking about the road. rubbish. most of the roads in Alimosho are useless. They just keep using propaganda to spread falsehood. The Adeniji jones bypass construction has been going on for over 7 years now. still no headway. the lagos water ways project is still a dream. not to talk of the botched Enron fake project. He spent the last 2 years fighting Fashola every step of the way because he wants total control of Lagos money. building 3 toll gates in Lekki that is a residential area just to enrich his pocket. Where did he get the money to setup The Nation newspapers? TVC and the radio station? Tinubu ko Tinubu ni1 |
