FamilyRe: My Modern Day Definition Of Marriage by EfemenaXY: 6:13am On Aug 29, 2016
anigold:
DUE TO THE HIGH LEVEL OF MATERIALISM in our society where a lady marries a guy just because he has money, not necessarily because they love each other..

Dont get my wrong man should be able to cater for his family, but the rate at which we neglect the foundation of marriage which is love is crazy and mind-blowing..
The number reason the society is filled with problems and vices is due to wrong foundation of marriage
I strongly believed that most

"marriages are just a formal association of a male and a female for the main purpose of producing babies and also the exchange of material and sexual benefits between both parties"..
From your write-up, it's easy to tell you aren't married.

The bolded bit of your last paragraph does not constitute the foundation of a good marriage nor does it define what marriage is, but rather highlights one of the outcomes of marriage.

How does having sex and birthing kids lay the foundation of marriage? You don't have to be married to do that. Isn't that what lots of baby mamas and daddies do anyway?

Good, solid marriages are built on trust, understanding, communication, friendship, and love. Sex and babies are simply the icing on the cake.

Rate today- 502
Rate as at COB (close of business) on 27th August was 515(buy)/530(sell).

But then again your rate isn't bad compared to Western Union which deals at three something.

In this case, she is not bleed and when she is in her period, i am always in the Know.
That doesn't answer my question.

I asked if you're comfortable using her sponge when she's on her period and not whether you're in the "know" of when she's on or not.

So once again, Are you comfortable using your wife's bathing sponge when she's on her period?? Yes? Or No?

And IF you don't use her sponge when she's on, what do you use then?

Secondly, am not a control freak, but atleast i am not a weakling and i think i should certain level of authority over her, without prejudice to her freedom.
You say you aren't a Control Freak and yet in the same breath claim it's your right to weild your authority over her? A bit contradictory isn't it?

Re: your last statement, care to explain? She already told you she isn't comfortable sharing her toiletries with you, yet you insist and feel it's your right to go against her wishes and you claim it's without prejudice to her freedom??

I suppose you won't mind sharing her sanitary pads too?

FamilyRe: A Worried Husband Asks If It Is Proper To Share A Bathing Sponge With His Wife by EfemenaXY: 12:56am On Aug 27, 2016

See me, see problem o! I was taking my bath last night, after i had used the WC toilet and in the process of flushing the toilet, my bathing sponge got flushed down into the WC toilet. So i decided to use my wife's sponge pending when i will buy a fresh sponge, but my wife is objecting to my using her bathing sponge. But, i have told her that as husband and wife, we ought to have been using the same sponge, but just that we did not start the practice right from our marriage(we are just over close to 3 years in marriage) and i don't think anything is wrong with using my wife's sponge or vice versa, but she is complaining that she does not feel comfortable with sharing her bathing sponge with anyone, even me, her husband. I have told her that henceforth, we SHALL be using the same sponge to bath.

Is there any thing wrong medically, spiritually and otherwise for husband and wife to use the same bathing sponge for bath?
Let me ask you this:

Assuming your wife is a heavy bleeder with thick blood cloths, would you feel comfortable using your wife's sponge when she's on her period?

Additionally, re: the bolded part of your sentence, you do not tell your wife what to do or ram your opinions down her throat. Are you a control freak?

For now, she should leave that sponge for you (seeing as you've started using it) and buy herself a new one. However, next time you stay away from her toiletries and go get yours oga.

Sleep deprivation is one of the worst things to impose on someone, not to mention a spouse who spends most of his hours working to put food on the table. Food, which incidentally serves as an ignition to fuel her antisocial behaviour.

Please people i will go straight to d point, my 18years old younger sister told me on monday morning that she is pregnant, now abortion is out of the queston. The issue right now is how do i tell my mom who has been through thick and thin to raise us up considering the fact that she is a single parent, our father can be said be an absent father. Jesus am so heart broken, the responsibility of an eldest child has come knocking on me, pls nairalanders help me suggest how you think i should tell my mum
Whether your sister kneels / grovels on the ground or not is beside the point and doesn't make a difference nor does it change what's happened. There are some tough questions you all need to ask yourselves namely:

Why is abortion out of the question?

Has your sister got the financial means to raise the child and see herself through school?

What input will the father of the child be making? i.e: his level of involvement in bringing up his child? Will he (and his family) be taking full financial responsibility? Or will he be let off Scot free while your mother bears the brunt of shouldering someone else's mistake?
FamilyRe: What Can A Woman Do If Her Husband Keeps Threatening Her With Death? by EfemenaXY: 10:43am On Aug 25, 2016
missyadorable:
Now here it is: They have been married for almost 30 years with grown up children, all out of the house
They have been having problems as soon as the marriage started but the woman has managed to cope, fast and pray as expected by the society...despite the beatings, abuses and torture. At a point, her dad refunded the dowry and asked her to come home, she refused. Now both parents are late and they have been separated for abt 4 years.but as the children took sides with the woman and abandoned the man,he is now threatening to kill her diabolically or physically via charm or hired assasins...and he sends her such messages via sms.
What can she do?
She should save those messages, take screenshots of them and head off to the nearest police station and show these to them, emphasising she's living in fear of her life, with the constant death threats from her husband - so it's all on record at the very least.

She should also inform her kids about this and get them to help her secure the services of a good lawyer. Then apply to court for a restraining order for him to keep away from her.

This is no marriage. Not with the constant death threats, and this man may just carry them out as promised. A separation is very much in order too.

You don't have to look at it that way na. It's just a job. Not much different from what the medics do, except that they won't be getting any significant responses.

This funny question just came to me yesterday while watching a movie.if u were jobless and terribly broke, and someone offers u a 150k monthly job as a mortuary attendant, would u do it?sisters,if ur hubby was In these shoes, would u allow him do it?
as for me,No I can't. I would rather be frying Akara than do that.
Why not?

A job's a job and money nor dey smell. As long as it's legal / a honest day's graft, then nothing spoil.

By the way, your first and last statements are contradictory.

If you've got the option / choice to do something else (i.e fry akara), then you certainly aren't as broke and jobless as implied in your first statement. Okay broke perhaps, but definitely not that jobless.

FamilyRe: Help Detained Mothers At Sacred Heart Hospital Lantoro. by EfemenaXY: 10:15am On Aug 24, 2016
I fail to see how the new mothers & babies being detained at the hospital is meant to serve as punishment for non-payment of their hospital bills.

As long as family and friends are allowed to visit and bring in food and supplies to mother and baby, and as long as they aren't held in prison like conditions, then that's a win situation for them especially as they get to rest.

Besides, how many of these new mothers can the hospital detain, bearing in mind they probably deal with several deliveries on a daily basis?

I don't get it.
