flokii: Ok!... it's like you have brain touch
now lemme tell you why I asked... I have seen cases like that of this OP... infact it's very common
and in order to give my advice I'd like to know if is same tribe or intertribal marriage..
cos most times it's actually nothing atal... all I wantd was DEEP info as I dnt do shallow or on-the-surface thinking like most of you do
hope you're satisfied? It WAS shallow of you to ask what tribes they come from and you know it. What if the couple in question aren't Nigerians? What then? Just admit that you haven't got anything relevant to contribute. You probably aren't even married. You're way out of your depth here. |
Family › Re: If Your Wife Wants To Be Da Boss by EfemenaXY: 9:46pm On Dec 30, 2015 |
flokii: why can't you mind ur business?
are you d OP facing the problem... or have I in way insulted any tribe..
drop ur comment and move on... SIMPLE Mind what business? Is Nairaland your private property? Why must you know what tribes the couple come from? How is that any of your business? Or better still, how does not knowing where they come from hinder you from posting your "advice" on here, assuming you have anything of substance to share here? Trouble maker. |

hector: @EfemenaXY. in resonse to your question, '' What does this mean? Care to explain further?
What i mean is that every guy shud try not to be so ego-conscious when hustling or dealing with clients. Men are known to be very egotistic as compared to women.
The hustling world doesnt really require much of ego but that crowd-seducing mentality that women possess. Sometimes u need to be an ass-licker to get what you want. Afterall we've all been an ass-licker at one point or the other. Ah! I get you. True that. |

Mindfulness: What does it even mean? There is no advice I can give here. Maybe the wife is too demanding and rude but maybe the husband is just too lazy and annoying. Who knows? Abegi. The post screams of inferiority complex jor. The guy obviously has way too much time on his hands, hence the complaints. Rather than trying to micro manage his wife, he should be grateful she's taken the initiative to put their house in order despite being a full time working mum. He should get over himself and his wounded ego and get busy. Good Morning |

I have my answers already.. just want to confirm Don't bring tribalism here. That's got nothing to do with the "issue" on hand. |

hector: 1.Men don't beg for money they do something to get money. Tipping is allowed but don't take it too far. Says who? A lot of men (mostly scammers and their ilk) beg - especially on this forum. In fact, they're light years ahead of their female counterparts. 2. Your frnds can easily flex you with their money if they want but don't expect them to give u money for food thereafter. Anyone can do this. "Flexing" isn't the exclusive preserve of any gender. 3. When it comes to hustling, think like a man but act like a lady. What does this mean? Care to explain further? 4. For your own good please don't take that job because u need to feed. Take a job that can help you save for the future. That isn't a very smart piece of advice, is it? Desperate times call for desperate measures. What if there isn't any other option in the foreseeable future? Or if such a man has got dependents to look after? You suggesting they all starve while he goes in search for the elusive "golden job"? A bird in hand is worth two in the bush... 5. Quit staying with your parents when you are 25 and above. Get your own apartment no matter how uncomfortable. You will be happy you did that later in life. Understandable. Good point too - but 25years isn't the yardstick. Some fly the nest earlier, while others do it later. No hard and fast rules here. 6.Please don't try to copy n paste. I wrote this, so go write yours. Thank you! |

Oyind17: As his younger sister, I am hurt Oh, you're female? No wonder you sound bitter. Jealousy stuff. I doubt all you typed is true - and even if it were, it probably didn't happen the way you've painted it on here for us. You must truly dislike your sister-in-law. What are you expecting your mum to do? Rain insults on your brother and his wife? Turn your brother against his wife? Stay clear of that marriage. Mind your own business. |
Family › Re: My Brother Is Like A Houseboy To His Wife by EfemenaXY: 6:30pm On Dec 26, 2015 |
Oyind17: I went to my elder brother's house for a visit and I lost my peace due to what I saw there. I didn't call him on phone before going, I knocked and their first son opened the gate for me, when I entered they were eating. Normally the woman was supposed to dish food if they needed more but to my greatest surprise she asked him to dish more, like an obedient servant he went to the kitchen to get more.
About 30 minutes later her younger sister arrived and the wife started sending him all manner of errands, she started with bring yam for Mercy( the name of the girl), he brought the yam and she sent him again to tie the yams together for the girl, I was pissed cos I couldn't believe my brother was doing that.
She later send him to their shop to bring some stuffs for the girl, I left immediately cos I couldn't bear it any longer. The girl is above 20
Is he under a spell or it's normal?
And as a man can you do this?
I need answers before I download what I saw to my no nonsense mum. I dey vex It's none of your business how they decide to run their marriage. As long as no one is getting hurt, you should respect yourself and stay clear. Leave them alone. Don't be a home wrecker. |

dasparrow: At the rate with which you Nigerian bred men don't live long going by the large percentage of widows in Nigerian society, I cannot blame women who seek to earn a decent living just in case you Nigerian bred men kick bucket suddenly. Nigerians don't have life insurance and its heart breaking to see all the poverty stricken Nigerian widows looking emaciated while they figure out how to feed their battalions of children with their husbands gone. I see them struggling for bags of rice and yam in this festive period to feed all their hungry mouths at home.
When the average life expectancy rate in Nigeria goes from a current 52 years - according to the United Nations - to 80 years or more, then we can discuss choosing family over career. After all, it takes money to raise a family and provide the children with a decent standard of living. Or would you prefer more Nigerian girls grow up to be runz girls and Nigerian boys grow up to be 419 scammers and ritualists due to their poverty stricken background? Perfect. Case closed. |

donpata: So i am being bashed for wanting to keep my wife Hardworking. Plus its not abt affordability oh. just that while in sch, i came across a good no of students who cant spare any time to wash Cloths. they rather borrow money to take their cloths for laundry rather than to do it themselves. my findings reveals that most of such people were born to meet the washing Machine at home or just had maids doing it. i then came to the conclusion that there is a Spirit of laziness attached to the Machine. I no want make e posess my wife. thats y ohh. So "hardworking" wife = hand washing What then does / should the hardworking husband = ?? I hope you don't utilise electricity, borehole, and modern medicines? No cheating. You must be able to swallow in equal measure what you dish out to others. |

I no dey for wahala I just want to know more about our culture pure and undiluted. And not being told Isoko and Urhobos are "one". We are not Urhobo - but what makes us distinct from them apart from the language? We hardly have any written records of our particular traditional nuances. The closest I've seen (apart from Ikime's write ups) are a few personal accounts from the British - pre colonial era. Do we still have elderly "Groits" or Oral historians?? All we seem to do is make concerted efforts to do away with or traditions whilst daftly embracing Christianity. Are we Jews now?? Just check out the numerous Epic Igbo movies online - a people soooooo proud of their culture. What do we have? |
