Your wife isn't greedy or heartless dear, I understand her. She is really a professional.

In culinary school, 7 months training is over ₦500,000. While pastries and baking, 7 months is over ₦250,000, she even gave you discount based on inlaws reason why she is demanding for ₦100,000. Haba!! She tried abeg.

Baking ingredients in the market are skyrocketing like there's no tomorrow while the utensils will belong to your sister even when she's done with her training, she can be using it to set herself up.

You small boys will just come online and be insulting married people. Everyone here is not your age mate please grow up. You lack manners.
Would you charge any fee from your sister If she is to learn a skill from you? Did you read the part the man said he funded this same business?

Why are some ladies unnecessary mean and evil towards inlaws? My GOD
FamilyRe: My Wife Don't Want To Help My Younger Sister. Is She Being Heartless? by Efewestern: 7:17am On Mar 22, 2022
Would she request such money from her own sister? Just see the way women are defending their kinds on this thread.

If this happens to be the husband, these same women will expect him to render help to his brother/sister in-law without taking a cent.

In case like this, pay the 100k but give it back to her family x10 when the table turns. The only way people known the gravity of their actions is when they are being paid in their coins.

My woman knows the length I can go to get my pound of flesh so she only gives me and my family what she can take. A man must be a man!

Please what is the meaning of this Umogu? And is it reserved only for certain Urhobo kings or is it used for all. First time I heard it was sometime in the late 80s on a visit to Orodje r'Okpe. The greet8was accompanied with a response "Kada" with the right elbow cupped by the left palm
"Umogu" is roughly transplanted to your supreme being, While "Kaada" is a response to greetings.

Kada is common in Uvwie Dialect of Urhobo. Not only kings make use of it. Chiefs or anyone who has an Odovan (Praisename) can respond with Kaada.

Example:

Praise singers: Omovudu one of ***
Me: Kaada!!!

Uvwie is one of Nigeria's most Urbanized LGA/kingdom, hosting some of the nation's critical infrastructure.

It's also one of the kingdom making up the Urhobo Nation.

Foreign AffairsRe: Ukraine-Russia:Putin Announces Ceasefire In Two Cities To Let Residents Evacuate by Efewestern:

Russia should come in with their land troops na and stop bombarding Ukraine from miles away.

Russian military aren't as formidable as you all think, what's saving them is the air raids and missile bombardments from afar. Ukrainian soldiers want them to come in let them fight it out man to man, that's why Ukrainian President have been begging EU to put a no fly zone over Ukraine so Russian troops can come in and conquer Ukraine with their armored tanks and land troops.

With what Russia have displayed in Ukraine, it will take Russia 50 years to defeat Israel if they leave both to battle it out cos Russia rely mostly on projectile missiles from afar and on air raids and Israel have strong air defense system that will neutralize those their missile strikes and air raids. And when it comes to land troops, Israel, Britain, Georgia, Ukraine, France, US, etc are the beasts.

Russian land troops lack coordination and needed high military morale.

Their advantage over Ukraine is the air raids and missile strikes from afar which Ukraine doesn't have cry
Every country depends on air raid. Even the Isreal you are hyping depends heavily on air raids. You can't fight modern warfare without air bombardment.

During the Iraqi invasion, NATO disorganized Sadam with constant bombardment, in Libya they did same. In Syria Isreal is heavily bombing without sending troops on ground. In Yemen, the Saudi coalition have destroyed almost 1/3rd of the country with strikes.

During the Lebanese war with Isreal, Isreal carried out multiple precision strikes, destroyed bridges, houses and what have you. They only gave up on that war after their ground troops were harmered by Hezbollah.

Israel, Britain, Georgia, Ukraine, France, US... ground troops are just your Normal Forces and without airstrikes, they can't do much.

In war, everything is been put in place. Reason why any responsible leader would avoid war and crisis in the first place. Yes, you can create deterrence but this direct confrontation is meaningless.

Dialogue by Ukraine and Russia is the only way out of this whole crisis.

Russia has 180 other ethnic groups inside it although Russia is the main ethnic group with 83% population. What is more important is that all of them share same or similar ideology and there's a major tribe involved.

A country made up of only Southern Nigeria could work. One made up of Igbos and Niger Delta (old Biafra/Eastern Region) can work but what will never work is one where Sharia jihadists from Futa Jalon are forcing themselves to be one country with "infidels" who they hate so much and despised. No one is majority. Everybody hates each other but preaching one Nigeria everyday while looting the nation dry.
If we can't live together now, why do you think we would live together in a "Southern Nigeria" were you only have one major ethnic group?

You forgot that Nigeria was once divided into Three regions, were you have a single major ethnic group and during those times, the minorities found in each of these regions all cried of subjugation and bareface oppression.

Nigeria's best bet is for us all to sit together and draft a working system. Believe me, no minority will agree to a Russian-like setting.

Sanchez01:
The Iraqi sanctions and that of Russia are very different and Iraqi had little success because the entire country went with the government unlike what applies with Putin and Russia.

In the case of Iraq, it was mainly targeted at agriculture and the government upped its agricultural game almost instantly but there were deaths, malnutrition and outbreak of diseases on a large scale. Russia's economy is regarded as 'middle upper economy', not buoyant, not poor. However, these sanctions are not just coming from the UK and US or the United Nations, like that of Iraq but the West, including some Eastern Europe countries and neighbouring countries of Russia.

What's worse is that they can still sell weapons and oil but can't receive money since SWIFT is unavailable to them. Russians made panic withdrawals, their oligarchs were hit with direct sanctions and there have been protests in Moscow despite massive arrests.

Except the people support their government, sanctions as this one turn the people against their government and worse — the oligarchs who support the government. It is very different from that of Iraq.
I'm taking about the Iraqi-Iranian war were Iran was sanctioned from all angle and Iraq armed to the teeth.

Infact, the only reason Saddam saw it necessary to invade Iran was because Iran was
heavily sanctioned and Isolated by the rest of the world, even the USSR was arming IraQ, yet Iran sustained the war for eight years and was able to go offensive within two years.

Now, we are talking about RUSSIA, a far more sophisticated country, advance military, self-sufficient in almost everything and you say they would collapse in just 4 weeks under sanctions?

Do you really think Russians won't rally behind their government in situation such as this? The protest you saw was just another propaganda to make it look Russia is loosing at home.

Like I have said earlier, Ukrainians will be on the loosing end and Russia is ready to sustain the crisis even if it lasts for ten years.
Foreign AffairsRe: Russia Bans All Residents From Transferring Money Abroad by Efewestern: 6:01am On Mar 01, 2022
Sanchez01:
I doubt you understood the article.

Anyways, Putin and Russia won't last 4 weeks with this sanctions. I don't see how they will survive it. Internal conflict will most likely tear Russia apart if this lingers. Putin's fears are valid but like Ojukwu, he failed to analyse the West's worst case scenario.
The Iraqi war was fought under heavy sanctions. Sanctions can be deadly to an economy, but you guys are just over hyping its impact.

Russia can sustain this crisis for 10years even with sanctions. The only people I feel for are the Ukrainians whose cities are been bombarded day in day out and the some Russians who will feel the slight impact on their economy.

I said it’s the NUMBER one determining factor.

Also the economy of a country will influence
The military
The health sector
The education and so on,
You need money to do anything if not everything
While sanctions cripples economy, you can't easily collapse a country with just sanctions.

Iran has been under sanctions for 40yrs and throughout these tough years, they built a formidable nation and if not for this strength, they would have been bombarded a long time ago. Infact, no country in its right mind can poke on Iran without getting burnt, if sanction is all that effective, how come Iran grew this powerful? Don't also forget the fact that they fought the Iraqi war with Saddam Hussein under heavy sanctions even when Saddam was supplied with the latest military gadgets.

EDUCATION
Sanctions has no much impact on this one. A heavily sanctioned country like Iran produce more STEM graduates than any country in that region, if sanctions cripples everything, how come they were able to achieve this feat?

Medical
CUBA has better health system that Most European countries. Again, CUBA has been under decades of crippling sanctions.

As much as sanctions comes with hard negative impact, not everything can be determined by that. When humans are determined, they achieve anything in whatever condition.

Russia is a large country and to an extent is self sufficient. The best way to resolve this current issue is by dialogue. No one wins in war!

I know about the warri south seat hence the 10, I had to do some quick Google search and I noticed they've been court cases which they've gotten a favourable judgement by the way and issues with inec for a supposed restoration for Aniocha north II. We currently 29 seats instead of a supposed standard of 30 for a state with 10 federal reps (Another area you people were short changed). You guys should have vigorously used any means necessary to converse for the extra seat which I believe is done by population.

Politics is a game of interest, urhobos having the major controlling stake in the state is to our advantage. Ibori gave us the university and poly accruing to Delta south, an Anioma/ijaw governor will never have done that.
Yes, I agree that we aren't doing a lot with our strength and I'm glad you acknowledge the reality of those who truly want your progress.

Creating an aditional seat is a gritty process which I don't see happening in the next thirty years. The whole court processes are strange to me if I'm to be sincere.

AreaFada2:
Okoro is not even a lost word. It is very much alive. Okoro means a boy. But most often used to mean Prince. Princes are still called Okoro till today.

When the departed Oba Erediauwa was a student at Government College Ibadan, letter sent to him were addressed to Prince Solomon Akenzua. The white schoolteacher didn't like the title "Prince". The Oyinbo asked him what is prince called in Edo language? The then prince replied: Okoro. The white man told him to ask his family to address his letters/mails to Okoro. Apparently, the oyinbo thought only Oyinbo princes should bear the title. The Oyinbo was ignored of course. grin grin

I didn't make this up. It's in Oba Erediauwa's book titled: I Remain, Sir, Your Obedient Servant.

In any case, I know at least a dozen Edo families whose surname is Okoro.
Lost in the sense that most sub-Edoid groups now substitute Okoro with other words. Example, we now make use of Oshare. Okoro as a word is fast loosing its place in our lexicon.

Even the far end of Eastern Yoruba territory make use of Okoro. If Okoro wasn't of Edo origin, how did Ikale/ilaje and Itsekiri who had no single contact with Igbo got use of the word? Don't want to sound too pro-Edo but some conc Yoruba words such as Ode- Big/mighty , Oba - King, Olori - Head, might be of Edo origin.

As for Edema. My recent findings show that it's of Yoruba origin. What I noticed is that, Itsekiri names are mostly shared with their Ijebu ancestors. I would swear only Itsekiri make use of Alero until I met an Ijebu lady bearing the name.
