Mizwisdom: [s] "A man must leave his mother and father and cleave to his wife" [/s]
Your mother needs a husband, she wants one. Loneliness seems to be her main problem, try to matchmake her with someone responsible so that you can be free to enjoy your marriage in peace
A man must leave his mother and father doesn't mean he shouldn't have a relationship with his mom all because he is married. One can see from the write up that OP's wife never wanted Mama around, more like those ladies who for no reason hate mother-in-laws.
Thank God you are a woman, your son's wife will treat you same way, by then, I hope you remember this line you just quoted.
Candiesramah: It's this your wife that will kill you. It's like once some of you men get married, you trade your sense of reasoning along the way. Just imagine the nonsense you defended. What was wrong in your mum requesting an addition in your wedding guest list? Would that your wife have rejected it if it had come from her mother? She should be happy she got a good mother-in-law willing to make things work out, else, she would have been shown what's like to have issues with mothers-in-law. I don't blame her sha, it's you I blame.
Thanks for this.
I'm trying to understand what's wrong with mama adding to her son's guest list, the truth is, his wife never loved her mother-in-law right from day one, to think the old woman is even trying to make peace shows she isn't an evil person like the OP's wife wants us to believe.
I wonder if OP's wife will be happy if he treats her parents same way.
dermmy: Iran didn't fire those missiles with the intention of killing US troops and for them to have achieved that without arming any US soldier shows they are good at what they do, a well caliberated missile strike. They did that to honour their slained General and they passed a message to America that they won't fold their arms and let any country bully them.
If Iran wants to arm US troops on a normal day they have proxies all over the region that can achieve that for them but they just had to launch those missiles first by passing a clear message that they are not weak.
And i think America got the message by not launching a counter attack, Mr Trump was wise this time.
They didn't get the message Iran passed
* We do not want war, but if you attack us, we will hit and destroy all your bases in our region.
* Our missile technology is no joke.
* War won't benefit any of us, Trump got the message and decided not to respond.
dermmy: "The accuracy revolution is real and no longer a monopoly of the United States. This has huge implications for modern conflict.”
Late last year the pentagon released a report that states Iran has an unmatched ballistic missile programme in the middle east, it was an assessment of Iran's ballistic missile programme but now they have seen how deadly and accurate these missiles are in real life. Iran is the second country in the world to have tested anti-ship ballistic missile. This is the missile programme America wants them to abandon while America keeps arming Israel and Saudi Arabia with sophisticated weapons. It won't work
Their missile programme is a great deterrent to their aggressors
With this latest strike, they have shown how much damage they can inflict on any country in the region, I'm glad US quickly got the message, hence the deescalation. Just saw on the news that Pentagon is considering reinforcing missile defenses in the middle east to protect troops.
I do not think Iran will ever agree to ending their missile programme, like you rightly said above, their missile programme remains a great deterrent to any aggressor.
They were pictures of precision. Iran had struck at the heart of the sprawling base, in an area packed with planes, helicopters and buildings. The precision, however, was paradoxical. The missiles scored six direct hits, but against evacuated aircraft hangars. This, presumably, was enough retaliation for honour’s sake after an American air-to-surface missile had killed Qassem Suleimani, a prominent Iranian general, five days earlier, without being sufficient to provoke counter-retaliation.
“The most important takeaway from Iran’s strike is just how precise their short-range ballistic missiles were,” says Vipin Narang of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. “The accuracy revolution is real and no longer a monopoly of the United States. This has huge implications for modern conflict.”
A missile’s accuracy is measured by its circular error probable (CEP), a radius within which half of all launches will fall. The lower the CEP, the more precise the missile. When Saddam Hussein chose to lash out during the Gulf war of 1991 he sprayed scores of Scud missiles at Israel and Saudi Arabia. His rockets had a CEP of more than two kilometres. That is fine for terrorising cities, but useless for hitting—or avoiding—specific buildings. More Israelis died from heart attacks and stress than from blasts.
mrvitalis: I'm from IMO , mbaise ...my bro married from rivers okirika
To do full traditional wedding in opobo, bonny, okirika , kalabari would set u back over 2 million My brother paid ...the rivers guy that married my sister didn't pay upto 200k for men and women
Most things like drink u buy for the bride price in igbo land are mostly used to serve people on the traditional marriage
If you find it hard to spend 500k on bribe price you are certainly not ready for marriage ...unless u want to have a poor home
Paying less than 500k for bride price doesn't make one unprepared for marriage and it definitely doesn't determine if you're going to have a poor home or not, bribe price in my land is #120 and we have so many stable and wealthy families.
The main thing we should be preaching is that we should all learn to respect people's beliefs and traditions, no need having this superiority complex because of our differences in culture.
I definitely have no problem with the bride price of others and I see no reason why one should complain about how others run their traditional affairs, if you can't pay, then go look for your tribe ladies.
GamalNasser: Iranian govt should be the ones to close the air space since the knew they had armed their anti aircarft missiles . I know people will be jailed for that sha
That was a very silly mistake from them, knowing fully well that they have activated their air defenses, they should have grounded all flights till the issue pile down.
healthserve, this was what I was telling you yesterday.
Most, not SOME, Oniovo. They are non-challant and highly entitled even when they ought to serve.
My host company is a Nigerian company and I have been with them for three years now. I can count my down times, including when I migrated to a reseller plan to diversify.
Truth be told, I don't defend anything Nigerian much but I sometimes wonder if my host provider doesn't have traits of the typical Nigeria host providers.
This won't be the first time you will be praising your host, good to hear a Nigerian web hosting coming performing well, I might as well give them a try, do they have data centers close by?
You see some other host, during their first year, they will be nice, give them some time, you see them acting funny, pray you don't encounter some technical issues, you'd meet clueless staffs.
Sanchez01: Let's pretend for a minute that he insulted them, does that warrant withdrawing support from him?? Perhaps I doubt you understand what SUPPORT is! It is your right, except stated otherwise.
My hosting company had an issue at their data center mid last year on a Sunday and it wasn't resolved until evening. I sent them a long stinker as I was frustrated and angry. They responded, apologized and hinted the cause of the downtime and notified that the issue has been resolved at their data center.
It didn't stop us from becoming the best of friends. There are things they do for me that are way beyond customer level.
They did something recently that was way out of any regular hosting company's rule. I sent a mail and they were patient enough for me to come around.
A service company mails a client that support has been withdrawn for insulting or abusing an agent and you think that is normal? We so need orientation in this country.
Sawyer and the team, THANK YOU GUYS for being amazing!
Some of our local hosts are terrible, can't sacrifice my peace of mind on the altar of patriotism, I just they jejely use where my heart they at rest.
Once had an issue with one some years back, they couldn't rectify, response was slow, asin, I just japa.
healthserve: Efe I'm. Busy. Every nation has systems in place to know details of every flight in its airspace. This debate is above your intellectual level. No disrespect
And when you counter them, they come in with some funny lines, do have a nice day chief.
healthserve: So the lives of unarmed people is sports. From the aid workers to embassy siege to 170 person on board a passenger flight.
Your comment is funny. You can't use a military craft in any nations airspace without permission. Upgrade your os abeg
* Iran didn't shoot down that aircraft intentionally, US had threatened to strike Iran should they fire at any of their bases, Iran might have activated their air defense system, hence they mistook it for a military jet. US also made similar mistake in 1988, I wonder why you avoided that, or are Iranian lives not valuable?, this recent crash has more Iranians on board, does it make any sense that Iran will want to kill her own people to proof a silly point? Think man, think.
* @bolded really? Israel has been violating Lebanon's & Syria's airspace, who did they take permission from? you really think if US military jet wants to enter Iran's airspace they will take permission from Iran? Sir, does this sound nice to you? There's a reason Airlines avoid battle regions, most SAMs can barely differentiate a military jet from a civilian aircraft.
healthserve: Oya o. Those of you cheerleading the deaths of innocent people.
Come and partake of taking responsibility for this blood shed. Continue to cheerleader Iran on in its rascal and rogue display.
First it was aid workers. Now innocent lives. Majority below 40. Imagine the brains and the destinies wasted. Continue cheerleading Iran on its recklessness. May their bloodshed be credited to your karma bank accounts angry
Continue cheerleading Iran and its culture of killing innocent people and accusing the United States of wrong doing or any reasonable person as haters. Even the entire gulf region backs the American presence in the region buttressed by the move of its operational bases to Kuwait. Sauid Arabia has come out rightly to condemn Iran's antics. Yet some religious haters still twist reality that this is a religious war. May the blood of all the dead souls be on the account of everyone cheerleading Iran on in its madness.
Chief relax and be objective, Saudi Arabia and Co you are hailing have done more damage to the region than Iran. As for the aircraft, it's most likely it was shot down by Iran's surface to air missiles, maybe they mistook it for a military jet, no body is above such mistake, even US in 1988 shot down an Iranian aircraft (Iran Air Flight 655), killing everyone on board.
Curiouscity: Sadly, this thread is not about me and my marriage challenges. But, my partner has a wrong view about money and responsibilities. She is yet to understand what family mean, or where her focus should be.
She works, but she expects me to run the house, and still take care of her extended family members.
You are a MAN.
God bless you, and please do not forget to plan for your kids while helping her extended family. It's not easy.
dermmy: No... pls join hahahaha You pushed Donald Trump to this point now you are backing out? Some people would say
"Israel will make sure America fights to the last American soldier standing"
American leaders should learn how to be independent in the pursuance of their foreign policy, stop allowing Israel to dictate to you.
Efewestern what's your opinion on this?
Israel is a country that loves her citizens, being dragged into any major conflict with Iran will open Israel to several ballistic missiles, rockets etc which will result to thousands dying.
As much as Israel wants Iran weakened, they do wish US/allies fight that battle a lone, no one in the region wants to go head to head with Iran, it will be suicidal.
I doubt there will be any retaliation, but should US strike Iran from any base in the middle east, Iran will take the battle to that country.
Believe me, I'm sad about this development, war scares the shii out of me.
ViVaMadrid: You were blatantly wrong with your initial assertion that Iran was solely made up of plain land, now you are trying to play intelligent instead you to simply accept your error SMH.
Abeg, who asked you for all those irrelevant things you wrote up there. You're actually the "Mr. Too Know" you have labeled on Efewestern.
Thank you sir, I simply corrected him, instead of him to admit he was wrong, he is still saying what I don't know, his initial assertion was that Iran is a plain land with no mountains, that was an ignorant statement, anyone who's familiar with the topography of the country will know how mountainous Iran is.
GogobiriLalas: Afghanistan is 92% hills, mountains, valleys and plateaus, hardly any flat plains, hence your conventional weapons are pretty much useless against a determined army with solid grasp of the terrain; Iran on the other hand is a land of plains, hardly any mountains, if Iran makes any move, the rate at which projectiles will fall on it even from extraterrestrial sources including advanced hypersonic weapons lol Iran stands absolutely no chance against the mad man in thewhite house who is just itching to show off American capabilities to the whole world. Iran would be wise to take their L with silent dignity, bide their time and wait for an appropriate opportunity to retaliate on soft targets.
Chief, Iran has more mountains and hills than Afghanistan.
Farki: I swear Nigerians are experts in ignorance, do you think war with Iran will be child's play? Afghanistan that America has been struggling with they can't finish after 18 years and that's just scattered terrorists not the whole country against them.
PointZerom: No matter their back up Isreal will crush them in few days.
The comments we read on Nairaland thou, very brilliant, you guys are so intelligent, Isreal will crush anybody within 24hours.
Didn't you see how they crushed Lebanon's hez in few seconds? or how they won the 2006 Lebanon war with just a single strike?
Common, who is Iran? . A country that doesn't even produce anything talk more of sophisticated weapons to withstand the almighty Isreal. It will be suicidal for Iran to even think that way.
Have you thought of Iran's territory? men, very easy to conquer, the country has no natural fortress, distance is no barrier I tell you, they can just stroll into Iran's territory and claim victory.
Who can fight God's chosen people. My brother, if you are in Warri just ping me, you deserve a bottle of origin, damn!
Olominira: This is why I believe Trump has made a huge mistake. I don't know why people are equating the likes of Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan to Iran. Millions of lives from several countries would be lost in the Middle East. May God almighty protect us. Flying over that region is scary to me now
It's scary, the world is tired of these endless conflicts.
Hotfreez: You'll realise that after they killed more than 2 dozen Iranians and Iran carried their madness to the American Embassy, the US has dropped their most senior military figure in Iran.
Iran now knows that if they try further nonsense, the US is capable of wiping out their leadership.
What I'm waiting for is the response of Russia and China. If you're online, you can stream Aljazeera. One Iranian clown is crying rule of law, bla bla.
* US didn't kill 25 Iranians but 25 Iraqis, Iraqis are not Iranians. None of these strikes were ever conducted in Iran, but Iraq.
* Iraqis were the ones who carried the attack on US embassy, ever thought of how they gained access to the green zone ( a fortified territory), without the support of the Iraqi military? (US embassy is located in the green zone).
War is bad and I hope this doesn't lead to another major middle east conflict, millions will perish and not even Americans living in that region will be spared.
Diano154715: am 22 years old am currently in school studying math, I just finish my 200 level I started with 2.78 now my cgpa is 2.49 I was very intelligent back in. secondary school am frustrated and i don't want to come out with 3rd class i am good in reading course like biology, chemistry, and gst, I was the only one with B in 100 level first semester, most my friends look up to me in math department but am trying my best it not just working pls I need advice
I studied mathematics and I can tell you for sure that if you put in efforts, you will scale through with a good result.
Since you are starting a new semester, make it a habit of reading every topic the same day it's being taught, For every theorem read, get a jotter and write down everything by heart , do it four times and go to the next course.
The protest reveals one thing, forces in Iraq are loyal to Iran than the US, if not how did they (protesters) gain access to the greenzone, a zone that is heavily fortified.
I feel so much for Iraqis, they are the ones facing the consequences of this endless war.
