There are two ways you can try to duplicate an orange:
1). Use the available materials and knowledge to build and orange (You would end up with something that looks like an but not an orange )

2). Search for the seed, plant it, and watch it grow.

The two ways requires some form of effort but one is more frustrating.
The first is when you try to be holy like God with your good works (human effort)

The second requires faith but you still have to put your effort in planting the seed and taking care of it until it grow and bear fruits (effort of faith.
The first requires works of righteousness while the second involves works of faith -- you apply works but you have faith in God to make it grow.

Yes grace without works is no grace because grace is works but not works of righteousness/the law but works of faith.

By faith you planted the seed believing that it will grow
By faith you nurture the plant and you didn't force it to grow by your effort but you believe in God to make it grow. Yes faith also requires works.

You can't make yourself live like Jesus live but you can plant his life (the living word of God) and patiently watch it grow and watch yourself become like him.

What do you understand by this?

"you were made alive with Christ even when you were dead in trangressions€it is by grace you've been saved." Eph 2:5
Yes we are SAVED by GRACE... but GRACE is by FAITH and FAITH without WORKS is DEAD... The simple law of transitivity hence states: GRACE without WORKS is DEAD

Lets say I gave you a million naira for something you did, and you met a friend later who asked you whether you received the money freely or not, what would you say?
What's the circumstance surrouding the payment!? If that pay is the standard for what I do then it's not a gift but if that pay is an amount that i can never earn but yet you give it for what i do then it's more of a gift than a pay ...but yet this is not what i mean by GRACE! GRACE is a gift that can never, never, never be earned NO MATTER HOW GOOD, HOLY OR NICE you become but what i'm saying is that YOU CAN'T HAVE YOUR HANDS ALL TIED UP AND EXPECT TO RECIEVE THE GIFT FROM GOD WITH THE SAME HANDS ...this is simple LOGIC! I wonder why many are struggling to understand this!

Even if one of the four Cherubims preached Jesus to you, if you fail TO ACCEPT and QUIT DEBATING (Some would even argue with angels if permitted) you'll never be GRACED to receive SALVATION...

TO ACCEPT and QUIT DEBATING are ACTIONS...WORKS...

How shall we who are DEAD to sin....live in it any longer! !!. It's only a sin conscious person (instead of sin cautious?) that will always see sin in the gospel of grace and sees sin in everything a christian does.

Far from it, I do not use the preaching of God's grace as though it's meant to cover immorality but God's grace is bigger than any man.

By the way, Grace didn't come cheap, someone already paid for it so I don't have to pay nothing anymore. ... cheesy
Grace is free but you must avail yourself and position yourself to get it...Jesus' healing power was the GRACE, the centurion seeking Jesus was the WORK, the healing power of Jesus was GRACE the opening of the roof and lowering of the man with palsy was the WORK, the healing virtue of Jesus was the GRACE the touching of the hem of Jesus' garment by the sick woman was the WORK...the examples are ENDLESS...unless you just want to ARGUE OVER THE OBVIOUS!

@OP, U quoted james out of context, study carefully and u ll get d message he passed across. There's a place for prayer and fastings, its not necessary to fast for anything grace covered. If God didnt demand mankind fasting to be saved but a simple act of faith in christ. For by grace are u saved thro faith... Lets learn to stop where d scriptures stop and not add our thought to it.
bro you wan argue bible ni? Abi na ma papa right am!?

Please read your bible and ask for revelation... Jesus gave the disciples power over all the powers of the enemy according to:

Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Yet the disciples could not cast an evil spirit and when they came to Jesus with the question why they couldn't Jesus told them this kind goes not out but by prayer and fasting...

Matthew 17:15-16, 19-20, 21

Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water. And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him... Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

Jesus suggested that if they had prayed and fasted they would have been positioned to flush out the demon!

Grace for power existed but the disciples were not positioned to avail it!

Now some people would like to correct Jesus

Nice write up! But i think this is the challenge, we add things on our own. There's no place in d scriptures we were asked to pray and fast to recieve grace from God. Grace has been given freely and is to be recieved by simple faith.
then how do you explain the words James:

James 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

So no works, no faith...no faith no grace...

Works borne out of faith does not earn you grace but it positions you to get grace...grace is free food but works is taking it and eating.grace does not put the food in your mouth rather you have to do that yourself!

Grace gave the death and resurrection of Christ, faith gave belief and WORKS gave confession to salvation...Grace gave the gifts of the HolyGhost, Faith gave belief in the existence of gifts and it receipt as part of God's promise, WORKS gave prayer and fasting...

James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

If you like BELIEVE ALL YOU WANT...if you don't ASK you'll NEVER RECIEVE!
Christianity Etc › Grace Without Works Is Dead! by efficiencie(op): 3:03pm On Jan 12, 2015
Many say that we are saved by grace and that all works are unnecessary...but there are works and there are WORKS...Paul teaches by the Holy Ghost that:

Ephesians 4:21-22
But that isn't what you were taught about Jesus Christ. He is the truth, and you heard about him and learned about him. You were told that your foolish desires will destroy you and THAT YOU MUST GIVE UP YOUR OLD WAY OF LIFE with all its bad habits. (CEV)

Now Paul admonishes that Jesus himself taught the ACT of GIVING UP THE OLD WAY OF LIFE which is a WORK to be done by those who want the life of God (Ephesians 4:18)

GRACE is the free gift of God but as free as it is you must ASK for it before you RECEIVE it. ASKING is the WORK necessary to POSITION you to recieve. GRACE to be HOLY abounds but if you don't SEEK it via PRAYERS and FASTING you won't FIND it. GRACE to find the STRAIT GATE of life is here but if you don't KNOCK the gate won't BE OPENED UNTO YOU!

GRACE is a free GIFT that only hands of FAITH can take hold off but FAITH without WORKS is DEAD!

your hasty conclusion is a sad one...as you fail to see the essense of my question.

I'll ask it again:

The question is: How long does the salvation of the Soul take?
Does it take place instantly as opined by John Crowder in ( http://www.thenewmystics.com/Articles/1000129594/Home_Page_of/Articles/Sanctification_is_Not.aspx ) or does it take an unspecified period which may be for a lifetime as
posited by Erwin Gane ( http://www.sabbathfellowship.org/biblestudies/erwingane/biblestudy_gane_sanctify.htm )

Family › Re: Problems With Sex Is Ruining My Marriage by efficiencie(m): 2:12pm On Jan 11, 2015
MaryJohn247:
I have been a follower of the family section for a couple of years. I have a serious issue that is threatening my marriage, I have no one to talk to as I am abit conscious about discussing my marriage with others even family. I am hoping to get some advice or ideas from here.

I have been married for a year now, my husband and I dated for a while before tying the knot. We never had sex before marriage, though we did alot of other things, I was just never ready to take it to the next level. After the wedding, trying to have sex was very difficult. I was very tight and it was extremely painful (unfortunately, pain is one thing I have never been able to tolerate). What did we not try, getting drunk, taking drugs. Long story short we finally had sex about 5months into the marriage. I have to say that my husband was very understanding and I will forever love him for this.

The problem now is that sex is extremely uncomfortable for me. It is always a battle for him to penetrate, because for me the pain always feels like the first time. Just imagine that everytime we want to get down there is always a struggle before he finally enters. My husband is tired and has told me that i need to find a way of solving this issue. Infact he said I should not speak to him until I am ready to open my legs and stay put for him to penetrate. He says he is loosing all the desire he has for me at the moment. I dont know what to do, I am so distraught. I feel like a failure as a wife, I mean who has ever heard of a new wife running from sex because of the fear of pain.
I dont know if its psychological or if there is something wrong with me down there physically. All I know is that I need help, because I cannot imagine loosing my best friend and soul mate. Pls is there anyone who has gone through this, can anyone help with suggestions on how I can learn to open up, relax and deal with the discomfort. Because I believe that if I can do this, then I can be able to let go and then it will be pleasurable for him and myself as well.
God created you, created those genitals and joined you in Holy Matrimony...that God has the manufacturer's manual for your bodies...go to that God in Jesus' name and you'll unearth many treasures of marriage!

Please see the excellent explanation of 'Hiswordxray' which should make matters clear. I rather suspect that it by 'FAITH ALONE' we are saved - not whether or not a womans hair is covered.
Do you read scriptures at all!? Or do you just want to argue? Or you want to join the bandwagon of those bending a direct statute of God?

Covering your head does not save you but it is the result of obedience unto the commandments of God that have spiritual implications Now because we want to justify popular culture, justify seduction, justify changing lifestyles and yet hold on to salvation we decide to twist the glaring words of God.

Matthew 15:3
But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?

There's the tradition of God and the tradition of men, choose, this day, which you seek to follow...

Faith is made alive by the works that ensued...Works that are not in accordance with the faith once delivered to the saints are dead works and kill faith!

James 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

Jude 1:3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

Covering your head for women is for the honoring of the head and for power because of the angels...Women who violate this deny themselves power to minister and honor

In my mothers day it was very much the custom for all Irishwomen t cover their hair. Today that custom is no longer followed among the younger generation. Its neither good nor bad - just custom.
custom? custom abi!!!

1Corinthians 11:5-6,10
But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with
her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that

woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if
it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven,
let her be covered... For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.

Is the bolded not the reason for women covering their head? Custom abi...May God have mercy on our generation...We twist scripture to suit our worldly life style...

2Timothy 3:1-4 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

Wow bravo! You might as well say for satan loved the world that he gave his only son that whosoever believe in him should not perish but have everlasting life

covering as used in:

1Corinthians 11:5-6
But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with
her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that
is even all one as if she were shaven. For if the
woman be not covered, let her also be shorn:
but if
it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven,
let her be covered

is different CONTEXTUALLY from covering as used in:

1Corinthians 11:15
But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.

If you will not cover your head then shave your hair, but if you hair is long and you'll not want to shave it off for the glory it renders then cover it so that you prophesy and have power on your head...

No wonder we have a lot of lecturers of God but few men of God

That doesn't make you unholy.....God is more concerned about the heart....than the outward appearance....buh sometimes its better to be on a safer side..and obey the words of the bible.
Hiswordxray: In the book of first Corinthians Paul gave certain
instructions and he gave a reason for each of these
instructions. Some he said it is directly from the Lord,
another he said it's from the wisdom that God gave
him, yet another he said it's just an advice. But when it
came to the issue of women covering their hair he said
"Now if anyone is disposed to be argumentative and
contentious about this, we hold to and recognize no
other custom [in worship] than this, nor do the
churches of God generally." (1Cor 11:16).
Paul didn't say didn't say this is directly from the Lord
and he didn't say if women didn't cover their hair they
will go to Hell.
But Paul said this is a custom. Custom tells you what
you need to do to be a part of a group or a society.
And to be a part of the Church as at that time you must
cover your hair as a woman.
But the gospel tells you what you need to do to make
heaven and have a foretaste of heaven on earth.
Women covering hair is nothing but a custom for
believer as at the time that verse was written. But if you
choose to follow it fine and if you don't want to follow
it there is nothing wrong with that.
Oh yes, we should probably say: God is only concerned about the heart... why not wear bikini to church and shout a loud halleluyah!

Funny Christians! First they admonish people to [b] read and apply the scriptures
next they tell you some parts of scripture can be overruled and that disobeying them doesn't make you unholy

1Corinthians 11:5-6,10

But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered... Scriptures say God is love...so if truly you are of God you are of Love and hence expected to love everyone with the love of God irrespective of who they are...However marriage is matchmaking exercise and it requires God the custodian of the manufacturer's manual of your life and that of your would be wife to do the matching...Marriage is not to be driven by lust (what many call love) but rather by God's matching expertise...

Love is not a condition for marriage because you are expected by God to love everyone irrespective of who they are...but SPIRITUAL, SOULISH AND PHYSICAL COMPATIBILITY are the necessary and sufficient conditions for marriage and only God knows when these conditions are met simultaneously!

The answer is Heaven. The moment a sinner confess his/her sins and forsakes them and confess the Lord Jesus as Savior then if he/she dies he will make heaven FOR AS LONG AS HE/SHE DID NOT GO BACK TO SIN BEFORE DEATH COMES. Salvation of a man's soul indeed is a gradual process. when a man get converted, there are many processes that must follow, like baptism, sanctification and soon. Nevertheless a newly converted must stay in Christ and must not go back to sin...that's the only way to heaven
So you are saying that a new convert undergoing the salvation of soul that dies in sin will go to Heaven! Hmmm...denominational doctrines!
