Here is man that has done a lot for himself...and that does not make him unique in any way because the average hustling aba boy has also done a lot for himself. Let this man show us what he has done for his community (or any Nigerian community), any state of the federation or for Nigeria as a whole? How have the poor and the vulnerable in Nigeria benefited from his successes? How has the less privileged in society been empowered by his achievements? If this man cannot provide satisfactory answers to these questions then he is not worth half a vote |
Humblechuks002:No man was not persecuted here and neither were a group of people persecuted here...the character of the church has been attacked and silence could easily mean acceptance! Persecution for the name of Christ is to be accepted with joy but assassination of the character of the church is an open attack on the church's credibility and this would bring shame to the name of Christ...and I wonder if you can rejoice and be exceedingly glad if someone from nowhere and for no real reason embellishes your face with a resonating slap that shakes you to the marrow! We need to stop quoting the Bible hypocritically! |
Sleekfingers:Must you vote? If there are no credible leaders around must you vote for the least failure? The least failure and the greatest failure both have one thing in common they both belong to the club of failures...you and I need to ask these self acclaimed "messiahs" to show us evidence of community, state or national development which they have carried out prior to being a politician...if they cannot show us any then they should be denied our votes. These politicians have enough money to buy presidential form but they do not have enough money to donate a school to the public, donate a hospital to the public, sponsor students, start empowerment programs for girls and vulnerable groups...etc. Nigerians should stop acting stupid and use their heads for once in their life! Atiku the other day said he could stop Boko Haram if voted into power, why can't he stop Boko Haram now that he is an aspirant, in the interest of the Nigerian people? Nigerians should wake up. |
Most Nigerians have never ceased to display their supreme gullibility...the other day they voted a man into power because he declare he had no shoes. Next they voted another man into power because he had a history of integrity. I wonder what will be next reason to vote another failure into power...is it normal to employ a person without a CV? But most Nigerians will vote in a person without asking for and verifying the existence of laudable achievements accomplished by these same politicians for the Nigerian people at the national, state or community levels prior to contesting for any position...but these ignorant Nigerians can come on nairaland and display their idiotic love for politicians who will use them for sadistic ritual purposes if given the opportunity! |
...people who are in a hurry to say we all hoes and that they can easily marry an ex-hoe are probably hoes that have pounded or been pounded beyond repair but seeking some sort of consolation... |
You are good in what sense!? No man is good. The reason you do good deeds is because of the good GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT working through you...as for your plight, I can guess you are one of those who do not hear from GOD before making a decision - and in this case a decision to marry a person. You did not marry by faith, rather you married by sight. Because if you did marry by faith, you will be warned by the LORD but if you married by sight like most ladies do you will never escape stories that touch. Faith comes by hearing from GOD, so my question to you is: DO YOU HEAR FROM THE LORD YOUR GOD JESUS CHRIST THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT? . I guess the answer to that question is no. In addition, you mentioned growing up with a single parent. I smell a generational curse in your household. This is what makes offspring inevitably repeat the same horrid cycle their ancestors or parents started. You have a battle to fight and win else the cycle will go on and on. Now is the time for you to engage THE SPIRIT, THE WORD and THE BLOOD OF JESUS in battle with the forces and altars sponsoring and keeping the generational curse alive in your lineage. That you are Christian does not mean you will automatically win battles. Switches don't flip themselves automatically, people do so unless you go on your knees and battle in the place of prayer not only will you live the rest of your life a marital failure, you will most definitely pass this generational curse on to your offspring and from them to their offspring till the end of time! |
ajl:True! The corruption in this country also bids up the inflation rate and engages the CBN's resources targeted at stemming the inflation rate. However my point is that raising the minimum wage is not a viable, sensible or even sustainable solution to the poor standard of living in Nigeria. Anybody with a brain knows that it is better to raise the productivity in the country to the point that essentials such as a food can be afforded with very little amount of money. Is it better to hand a poor man 500,000 naira but the average price of what he or she purchases is around 10,000 per unit or is it better to hand the poor man 50,000 when the average price level drops to say 5k per unit. This is simple reasoning. What we need to raise is productivity and not nominal wages which will be eroded later on by inflation...and mind you, the rubbish the CBN posts as the inflation rate does not reflect regional inequalities and realities. In states like Rivers, Lagos and Abuja the minimum wage will simply be a scam. |
...the same idiots who mocked Daniel for returning the money may very well be the same Nigerians asking for Buhari's head...this is why I don't take the rants of Nigerians serious...they are pretty much the problem they complain about! |
Babysho:Before you start blowing trumpets...reason a little! He is intending to raise the minimum nominal wage and not the minimum real wage. These two are different. Those who earn minimum wage are quite substantial and if you raise the minimum wage to N100,000 you have just succeeded in pumping a lot of money into circulation. Now with our import dependence, poor agricultural productivity, poor interstate transportation and our exportation of crude oil/importation of petroleum products, I assure you that the N100,000 minimum wage will be a failure because these factors I have just mentioned will ensure that the inflation rate remains double digits. If Mr Sowore can solve these problems first, there will be no need for a minimum wage revision. With 18000 you will be able to save to pay your rent, transport yourself easily, feed yourself effortlessly and still have something to put away in a safe at the end of the month. This is simple economics...and Mr Sowore lacks it. He needs economic experts on his team to advise him appropriately on public policy. |
Foolish promise...N100,000 minimum wage is not the solution. It will only blow up the inflation rate and restore the status quo in a matter of months. What Nigeria needs is a boost in productivity. Massive agricultural government funded projects which can be privatized after three years of operation will bring down the food price index, raise the standard of living, and allow the allocation of income towards other uses. The restoration of our refineries and substituting petroleum product exportation for crude oil exportation after ensuring local demand is met at a lower price of say N30 per liter for PMS will further pull down the energy price index, earn Nigeria more money and raise the standard of living even more. Only these accomplishments would make a minimum wage of N18000 worth something. The fall in food and energy prices will have secondary effects on savings, investments, real exchange rate and the business cycle! I wonder who advises these politicians... |
smileing:Stewpidity on an ASTRONOMICAL SCALE... You did not pray and find out if he is your husband before getting dangerously close to him! You did not consult those you consulted before you started dancing too close to his fiery rod. Now he has fired you beyond repair and you are crying over spilt milk...Madam pick yourself up and face reality which is; you are now fairly used...try not to become very-used or scrap by being careful next time! |
SolutionMee:This is the same stu.pid thinking that brought the "dullard" you are defaming into power...you all were all desperate to kick the previous "ineffectual buffoon" out of power so much so you all voted a "dullard", according to you, into power! Now you are about to kick out a "dullard", according to you, and vote in anything like: stick, donkey, cow, horse, Sarrki, Yarimo, Buhariguy... This is the same demented form of thinking that keeps bringing in demented people into power ruling over mostly demented people! |
What was done before shall be done again, there is nothing new under the sun (Ecclesiastes 1:9)...Christianity and Islam accounts for about 54% of the world population, yet I can guess that most people who violate the accepted primordial rule of one woman for one man are mostly Muslims and Christians. Muslims and Christians agree that their respective GODs created one woman, Eve, for one Adam yet today Muslims have found a way to justify them marrying 4 Muslim women and having a ton of slave girls - in addition to having 72 virgins in paradise - and though the Christians claim to hold on to the one man-one wife rule a good number of them have perfected the art of having concubines...There is nothing new under the sun. Baby mamas, baby daddies, baby grandmothers and baby grandfathers did not start with this generation and will not end with it either... |
...if only they will let pastors, deliverance ministers, babalawo and social media rest nobody go know sey anybody dey find husband day and night...but no, na so so complain. From pastor house, to deliverance ground, to babalawo shrine dem go dey hala sey dem dey find man when man dey everywhere. Dem go come dey give innocent small boy eye, if the small boy eye tear come nack dia O till e turn to O50 dem go come FB, Twitter, Nairaland etc dey post sey all men are dogs but dem forget sey na bitch dey give their expired O to dogs...crap! Instead make them learn dem go dey form shit! |
Rule of which law...is it the law that says senators are immune from prosecution while in office? What stupid law is that! So if a criminal gets into power he becomes above all other moral norms. When the law favors them they start shouting rule of law but when that same law catches up with them they call it witch-hunting...The GOD that sees the evil that you are perpetrating in the secret will reward you all openly with the right measure of judgment! |
Vicjustice:Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, THAT THEY MAY SEE YOUR GOOD WORKS , and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Jesus addressed that verse to people who put up a show of righteousness but are not righteous within. If all the good works of Jesus were all done in the secret how would any have written of them? How would the acts of the Jesus be documented in the Gospels. Let your righteousness flow from inside and when men see your good works they will glorify GOD but when you put up a fake show soon your evil will be exposed and this brings disdain to the LORD. The letter indeed kills but the spirit gives life! |
Idiots with loud mouths will not see a man when he is sowing...but when he is reaping private jets they will start shouting like the have hot yam in their loathsome mouth! |
You cannot escape maths as far as economics is concerned. You will meet maths at virtually every corner of Economics so make up your mind to have a working knowledge of maths. Start with New General Maths (1-3) if your foundation is really bad then move on to Further Maths project 1-2. If you are desperate enough you can cover these books in a semester (15 weeks). Take maths seriously. The fear of Econometrics is beginning of wisdom ohhh particularly Linear Algebra based Econometrics! |
StaffofOrayan:I must say your response has a lot of illogicality and in some cases advances what appears to be truisms that are not fact. In comment 1, you stated religion is the invention of man with the objective of understanding the creator and yet you claim religion is not in tandem with spirituality in comment 7. You claim religion is control so tell me how trying to understand the creator and his ways is connected to control? How can a man attempt to know GOD, a being outside the dimensions of physical reality, a spirit and yet that man is not spiritual? How can religion be all about knowing and pleasing a spirit and yet you claim I err in claiming that religion is spiritual? Do you see your illogicality? Do you see how your conclusions do not follow from your premises? In comment 2/3, there are both hasty generalizations and lack of factuality in your statement. You claim Israelis are among the smartest, if they are this smart then it implies you agree they are enlightened and if enlightened they would not engage in taking innocent human lives in the name of religion. So it is either you agree that the Israelis are quite dumb and religious or they are quite smart and not religious. Saying they are smart and yet religious enough to kill innocent people is a faulty argument that defeats your own philosophical stance. Again on comment 2/3, you speak of Israelis like the entire nation is engaged in the act of killing innocent people. There are Israelis who are against what the government of Israel does against innocent people. I have watched youtube videos of people who are Israelis but against the slaughter of innocent people by Israeli government. So it is a hasty generalization to claim that Israelis kill innocent people in the name of religion. [https://www.independent.co.uk/voices/israel-palestine-occupation-settlements-torah-justice-military-courts-a7774941.html] In your comment 4, you introduced the concept of "man's doctrine" but you sound as though this is pretty much the same as "religion". If this estimation of mine is correct then you have just exposed another illogicality in your argument. Because like you said: "man in his various attempt at understanding the creator invented ALL religion" and if this is the case then religion is man's attempt to understand GOD and not the mere traditions of men. In your definition you have clearly set the difference between religion and man's doctrines (traditions) so attempting to make both of them appear the same amounts to you contradicting yourself. In your comment 6, you claim I conflate spirituality with religion and that i do not realize that religion is CONTROL. Well educate me. WHAT IN THIS WORLD HAS NOT BEEN USED AS AN INSTRUMENT OF CONTROL? Fashion, Science, TV, Radio, Music, Movies, Language, Ethnicity, Politics, Economics, Social Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Military, Media, Video Games, Alcohol and even the food you eat have all at one point or the other in human history been used as potent weapons so tell me how is religion unique as a weapon of control? Do you know I can guess safely that more than 70% of the cultural traits of modern people living in cities with agglomerations of more than 1 million people have been shaped, if not controlled, by TELEVISION. Do you realize that in Nigeria alone, the MEDIA has been a potent means of shaping and controlling public opinion in favor or opposition of political parties? Like I stated earlier these concepts are all harmless in themselves; from fashion to the military to artificial intelligence but when they come under man's influence they can become very deadly with massive consequences and the same applies to religion. Religion in itself is harmless but when it comes under the influence of a man it can rapidly become deadly. Hence any rational person can safely conclude that religion is not the problem it is men's insatiable lust for control that is the problem. If you eradicate religion from our world today, man will seek another instrument of mass control and trust me they will always find a weapon! Your comment 7 is another terribly hasty generalization. When you say the church, we refer to the global community of Christians. You said THE CHURCH, you did not say SOME LEADERS IN THE ROMAN CATHOLIC, and this is quite uncouth of you. If a woman says "men are dogs" you would likely rise to challenge by replying such a woman that her father, her brother, her pastor, her imam, her unborn male children and the GOD she serves (since she refers to Him using the masculine pronoun; "He" ) ARE ALL DOGS. Such a reply will reveal the foolishness in her remark and make her take back her words. So also claiming that THE CHURCH supported Hitler is such an irresponsible remark. Did Christians in the U.S who fought alongside the allies support Hitler? Were every Catholic of the time in support of the role of the leaders of the Catholic church in the 2nd world war? Would someone like Martin Luther had supported the relations between the leaders of the Roman Catholic and Hitler? Are you aware that such Christians as Tyndale was killed by leaders of the Roman Catholic? This goes on to show you that you cannot hastily reach a generalization about all Christians - THE CHURCH - based on the actions or inactions of a few people! This is also the case with muslims who are increasingly being labelled terrorists everywhere simply because of the madness of a few people. A more accurate assertion would be that some people within the Roman Catholic supported Hitler's devious plans and I assure you the vast community of Christians globally will reject such leaders as Christians. Albert Pike may be right, but I assure you men will always find a reason to go to war irrespective of the existence of religion or not. Quoting the words of James Moriatti in the movie Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows "...within man is an insatiable desire for conflict". The Ife-Modakeke crisis, the old western crisis, the Aba women riots, the conquest of the colonial masters, the slave trade, the Rwandan genocide, the atrocities of Idi Amin in Uganda, the Ijaw-Ilaje crisis, the ritual killings in Western Nigeria, the baby factories in Eastern Nigeria, the inequality in Northern Nigeria, the Biafra genocide and a host of other social milieu had little or nothing to do with religion but underlying all these evils is one thing and one thing only...MAN'S INSATIABLE DESIRE TO ATTAIN PERSONAL GAINS EVEN TO THE DETRIMENT OF THE SOCIETY. I stand on my philosophical position that religion is not the problem, men are the problem. Men were the problem before religion came and men remained the problem despite their affiliations to religious dispositions! |
StaffofOrayan:What came first? Men or religion? If I am to accept your enlightened opinion, which will most likely be that man evolved over billions of years ago, then I would be making a safe guess by claiming that man existed long before religion was a construct evolving into a concept held by many. If this is the case then I would like to ask if men were not stupid before religion came on board! Were the generations after the Australopithecus Africanus till the Homo Sapiens really great minds compared to those today who are infested with religions? Did religion make men daft or was religion man's attempt to cure man's insatiable desire to be stupid? Religion is associated with morality which when practiced faithfully is aimed at producing a near utopian society. Religion attempts to produce a single standard of good or bad bringing every of its adherents to its submission and hence entrenching social equilibrium. However this seeming fascist characteristic of religion makes it a potent weapon in the hands of those whose stupidity is an incurable terminal disease because they see that religion can have the effect of coercing people into submission so they work their way up the ranks, deny others the right to be curious and entrench themselves as the custodians of religion...these buffoons are the reason you have the temerity to label religion in the manner you have consistently done. Any society where people lack a universal standard measurement for right and wrong will be one that breeds a life that is short, nasty, brutish and hellish. Look at the constitution of governments all around the world. You will agree with me that no matter how beautifully crafted they are men will always make a weapon out of it. Same with every other thing that man invented or gets inspired with. There is no philosophical stance on this planet that cannot be subtly tweaked into a deadly weapon...Even your position on this matter, while it may have a solid philosophical basis in your opinion, is food to some numskull out there who will put it to such devastating use that will shock you to your marrow! I once heard a muslim speak on men marrying more than one wife and his defense was quite lovely and at one point I reasoned with him but go to Northern Nigeria and see how that seeming harmless tradition has been thoroughly abused by people who claim to be muslims. The justification for tithing in the Bible is so enticing that even an atheist who is interested in the welfare of others will feel the warm-glow effect of paying tithes but today some idiots who parade themselves as Christians have thoroughly abused it. I have experienced some witchdoctors whose belief systems are just amazing but yet there are those who use their art to fuel the insane desires of a few to the detriment of the lives of innocent people. There are atheists who despite not believing in GOD have such exemplary lifestyles that would make any religious person go green with envy yet there are those whose atheistic position offers them the opportunity to insult, denigrate and destroy people with religious affiliations... Stupidity was a way of life before religion came on board and religion was an attempt to cure man's stupidity but sadly the stupidity of many is so incurable that even the threat of eternal damnation could not cure it! |
StaffofOrayan:Those who do ritual killings are quite enlightened and educated. The Sandy Hook shootings did not happen in Somolu, Bariga it happened in the US. The members of the Ku Klux Clan that have maimed and killed blacks in the U.S and fan racism are very enlightened, if not much more enlightened than both of us. Does this mean that the enlightenment is evil? No. What it means is that enlightenment can be a weapon for good as well as for evil. Religion did not do any evil to anyone it is the men who did what they did inspired by their selfish interests. The Rwanda genocide had no leanings on religion it was anchored on ethnicity. The first and second world wars had nothing to do with religion but the selfish pursuance of pecuniary interests. The crimes committed in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Nigeria and even the so called Jihadists in the east all have nothing to do with religion but the calculated attempt of a few people to exploit the fault lines embedded in human societies towards the attainment of material gains. G. Bush was accused, with evidence, to have had contact with Osama Bin Laden before the WTC attacks and it was maintained by some others that G Bush was aware of the attacks before they happened. All of this just to justify a war in Iraq. Till today it is agreed that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq enough to justify a war. Yet the US went ahead with the war...civilians, women and children were killed in that war just to fill up the devious desires of a few people...now tell me how his is connected to religion. Herein lies the philosophical disposition that nothing is either good or bad because what we call good can be exploited for evil and what we call bad today can be directed towards a good cause. Jerry Rawlings targetted execution would be deemed in itself to be bad but it had the positive effect of placing Ghana on a trajectory of growth and development - and today Rawlings is revered and respected for his deeds. Your onslaught against religion is not founded at all. Religion is all about thinking good, speaking good and doing good...but like anything else religion can be turned into a weapon. Just as Einstein's discovery of the E=mc 2 was a beautiful thing but was quickly availed towards the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, so also religion is a beautiful thing but it has been exploited by a few towards doing evil. The formula is beautiful just as religion is but what people do with them is what you judge as either good or bad! |
StaffofOrayan:Well if your ancestors knew this by default like you said, they would not have offered innocent strangers as sacrifice to demon powered idols they call a gods. If your ancestors knew to be benevolent to all mankind they would not have left behind a tradition of bloodletting in the name of sacrifices. Ritual killing today stems from the acts of our forefathers. Those who practice Oro in Yorubaland do they know what it means to benevolent? Rather they are prepared to use any woman they see for sacrifice! Was Sango a Sango-worshipper? Was Baal a Baal-worshipper? I do not see the sense in your statement "Mohammed was not a muslim and Jesus was not a Christian". In my biblical exposition, I did not allude to your personal disposition - dressing, looks etc - rather I alluded to religion being a concept that is wrongly used particularly when it is referred to as a religious adherent. The sun is blessing to all mankind but with a reflecting mirror you can turn the sun's natural characteristic to a deadly weapon. The heart of men is the reflecting mirror of religion and though religion in itself is beautiful the heart of men can turn the character of religion into a weapon...and ignorant people bent on revealing their ignorance clothe religion with the character of men's wicked hearts! |
StaffofOrayan:Religion is not bondage...it is the teachings of so called religious leaders that can put you in bondage! Any Christian, in the true sense of the word, knows what religion is according to the scriptures: James 1: 27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. Only two requirements make you a religious person. Meeting the needs of the less privileged in their troubles and keeping oneself uncorrupted by the ways of the world. All other attachments to these two major criteria are just mere traditions of men taught often, but not in all cases, by people who are either ignorant or devious! However you cannot fulfill these two criteria if you are not spiritual, particularly the second criterion, because for you to keep yourself unspotted from the world you must be a friend of GOD and being a friend of the supreme spirit implies you must be super spiritual (James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.) So being religious is not the problem, the problem is being ignorant of what it means to be religious whilst claiming to be religious...and the teachers are to blame for this! |

Another one-liner for this problem: Construct a function that accepts a dataset, which is a list of lists, and returns a dictionary with the keys of the dictionary being the last element of every inner list and the values of the dictionary are the corresponding probabilities of the elements. for example: if dataset = [['yes', 'yes', 'yes'], ['yes', 'yes', 'yes'], ['yes', 'no', 'no'], ['no', 'yes', 'no'], ['no', 'yes', 'no']] is passed to the function it returns {'no': 0.6, 'yes': 0.4} if the dataset = [['love', 1, 3], ['hate', 2, 3], ['indifferent', 1, 4], ['hate', 3, 3]] is passed to the function it returns {3: 0.75, 4: 0.25} I already have a one-line solution and would like to compare with more efficient solutions! ypeace, waali, Richkinwe, hilaryxoxo and co |
Wow! It is surprising that a business mogul like Dangote does not base his decision making on sound business intelligence but mere fables if this write up is really true...In a country where charms, sexuality, social capital and brute force are the main tools in the toolbox of most socio-economic-political player it is expected that sheer competition based on access to information, insights and manpower will be lacking! As someone once said, and now I see it is true, Dangote is not an innovative entrepreneur but a manic opportunist...He sees what looks like an opportunity and he cashes in on it. |
waali:wow! nice...quite easy to understand! |

In spirit of one-liners, create a one-liner function that accepts a dictionary with numeric values and returns a dictionary with the maximum value. For example: i. The function accepts: {'ade': 3, 'john': 5, 'sam': 1, 'bukky': 20} and returns: {'bukky': 20} ii. The function accepts: {'ade': 3} and returns: {'ade': 3} iii. The function accepts: {'ade': 3, 'john': 5, 'sam': 20, 'bukky': 20} and returns: {'sam': 20, 'bukky': 20} |

efficiencie:Thanks to your use of COMBINATIONS in ITERTOOLS, @ypeace, I was able to dig up a one-liner. https://pastebin.com/vnhbc2cJ I guess I might just have to go the hard way of using the python documentation or the help system on my IDE before taking up serious certification courses online. Thanks for the hint!
