chinedu234:
Economic growth and development is normally driven by the foundation of the ability to achieve food, clothing and shelter. The sophistication of these achievements in the sense of qualities of food, clothing and shelter are directly related to the bears or bulls taking over the stock market. We must realize that it after consumption that savings and by extension investment can occur. The general question here is how far are you as a Nigerian currently meeting up with your basic consumption NEEDS? This is also where the performance of governments come in.
Reality check! Consumption boosts aggregate demand which in turn bids up the performance of firms and thus raises the share price while savings may not always become real investments as savings could be for further consumption in the future, as a hedge against precautionary circumstances and for speculative activity with little or no economic bearing on the stock exchange!

Macro theory is terribly simplistic and often unreliable particularly when it does not account for the peculiarities of the economy it theorizes about!

Are you a 49er and below, fed up with being a "lookman" as life is continually been sniffed out of our dear country by our pas and grandpas.

Are you tired of reading same letters your fathers and probably grandfathers read and have come to the realisation that it is a letter to "Dem-dem"?

Are you willing and ready to send our pas and grandpas to their well deserved retirement while we take over our destiny and future and have a country to bequeath to our down-line generations?

Do you want to be counted amongst those who didn't just fold arms (like our fathers) and sit while our collective destiny and whatever is left of our future is been frittered away by the same 'ol folks who care less about us?

Let's come together,make a move and take a stand.

We have every tools at our disposal to make this a reality. We control the social media and can use it to our advantage.

This is a clarion call to all under 50's from every part of Nigeria and profession to come together and lets form a front and decide what's left of our futures.

We are not taking to the streets or causing any physical unrest but our country can be salvaged bloodlessly.

If you are above 50 and agree your generation failed to take a stand as we are willing to do now while the country was left to the cabals and as such want to support morally, financially and advisory for the sake of your children, you are welcome onboard.

Reclaiming our country and building one we want for us is non-negotiable at this point. If 2019 is too close or sudden to make our stance known (which i don't think ) we can leverage on our force and movement using our block votes as a bargaining chip for a nothing less than 50% inclusion in the next government across all board in specific portfolios as a way to learning on the job of governance (NYSC) and ultimately taking over fully in 2023.

Every young Nigerian, home and abroad from the North, east, west and South needs to heed
this call and lets build a Nigeria of our dreams together.

Pm me lets start talking and mobilising.
it's such a shame that some of our youths still wont wake up from their slumber and smell the coffee to see that these old politicians are after their personal gains alone and could careless about us the youths plus our futures. They know there'll always be that handful of the youths who would trade theirs and their children's future for a few morsel or a couple of nairas..such a pity. How can one for the selfish sake of been called youth leader in these old folks movement, mortgage his and his downline generations movement? Its time for us to get our movement and create elders wing for our papas and grandpas to choose their elder leader from. We the youths are come of age and taking over. The pace has already been set in France and Austria,it sure can be replicated in Nigeria too. We've got the brains and professionals to give the old horses a run for their money.

I will side with this movement if it is selfless, if it is not about monetary gain, if it is not about who gets what but who gives what, if it will be about using the popular youthful force from all the geopolitical zones in Nigeria to advance the country and if it will have no religious-ethnic bias in objectives, participation and accomplishments!

For the benefit of those with varied access to different platforms I would suggest that we have a thread for this on nairaland, a facebook page and a whatsapp group all with the same identity. I am all for a mass youth movement anchored on sacrifice for unity, peace and progress.

The madness in this country has to stop!

I hope this is not another one man show, seeking to rally the youths for the attainment of parochial interests? This must be a mass youth movement!

Op for you to think along this lines means you can do it. 'Desire is a proof of undeveloped power' But I believe people that have achieved much in their personal lives need to get more involvement in politics. Like Okonjo, Dangote, Otedola, Ambode, Durotoye etc. Not the old cargos
Any idiot can go to great lengths to develop himself...the militants in the Niger Delta, kidnappers in the east, drug dealers in the east and ritualists in the south west are examples! Trust me they develop themselves and have accomplished much! Evidence of outstanding leadership is reflected in outstanding community development prior to getting into power. Mandela did not just develop himself, he fought for South Africa. Gani Fawehinmi did not just develop himself, he advocated for the masses. Jesus did not just have incredible abilities, He came to bear upon Himself the burden of humanity. Yunus Mohammed did not just go on to bag a Phd in Economics he used his own finance to start what went on to become the Grameen bank in Bangladesh which did not only empower many poor women this bank became the forerunner of microfinance institutions globally...We need people who have evidence of community development. We can only gauge what you claim you will do when we see what you have already done!

A man's foes are those of his household

The worst enemy of the yoruba race are yoruba people, the worst nightmare of the ndigbos are igbos and those who work for shaytan against the north are northerners! Nigerians are the enemies of Nigeria and not just any section of the country!

Sexual harassment is getting out of hand. You won't believe how many lecturers have interest to sleep with my GF which we are in the same department. I see this girl as a gift from God to me because she is very to me and we relate with each other so nicely but these lecturers would let her be. Like today alone, at least 4 of them saw her in different locations and all invited her to their respective offices and did nothing than toasting her and asking her for contact number and other funny funny questions like "do you have a boyfriend?", "When did you have sex last?" "Can we have a dinner tonight?" What useless and shameless lecturers do we have in our universities these days? How do we tame and curtail this ugly behaviour of lecturers? Or does it mean being a lecturer now entails sleeping with all fine girls on campus?
...and these idiots who parade themselves as lecturers are the same idiots that will readily complain about the corruption and poor leadership this country is facing. These idiots are the fathers of some people and I wonder what legacy they are leaving behind for their children. These idiots are the main problem of this country. These idiots are the reason our schools make students dafter than they were before entering the university. These same idiots are the reason for the misfits filling up the society. These idiots make Nigerian universities not half as relevant as 17th century universities in Europe...What these idiots deserve is death by bathing in acid!

A certain professor Cookey in Economics department, university of Port Harcourt collects 40k before you pass his Econometrics exam.
Professor Cookey does not care if you wrote well or not, if you fail to give him 40k then carryover will certainly be beckoning on you. And if you have the course carryover then you will need to pay 60k at the second attempt. The above not legal fees is for postgraduate students, the undergraduate students of the department have already legalized Professor Cookey's criterion for passing his exams.
The sad thing is, everyone knows about this, both academic and non-academic staff, but nobody is doing anything, nobody is saying anything, even the supposedly good lecturers. Professor Cookey is ruining lives of brilliant young men and women who do not have money to 'sort' ; they get frustrated, suffer depression and ultimately abandon their dreams. The ills of this nation stems from the school system where monsters called lecturers hold sway and feel they are demigod. I watched a young man who is arguably the best in his class, he solves assignments for all to copy, being from a poor home, his only chance to life and success was his brilliance. Professor Cookey ruined that young man because he could not 'sort'. How can someone who can't pay his school fees 'sort'? I can't believe that in a federal university lecturers and non-academic staff alike will be advising you to give Professor Cookey his money to avoid trouble. Evil indeed prevails because of the silence of good men.

Please any well meaning Nigerian reading this and in a position to do something about this should please investigate this and save brilliance from extinction.

PROFESSOR COOKEY ECONOMICS DEPARTMENT UNIPORT RUINS LIVES!!!
This is the norm in most federal universities...and we expect Nigeria to become an el dorado overnight...Nigerian can never see the light of day if it buildings roads in the sky, fills drainages with free food and becomes another paradise but its educational systems are in shambles!

Friend, to a Christian, this death is not even death; it is departure from this world. Dying due to ailment or accident or some other reasons is not the issue, the matter is what happens afterwards. Is it hell or heaven?
Some even talk about how it not normal for people to die young. We know about some sort of questionable deaths of young people, but it's not every young person's death that is demon-connected. Our Lord Jesus himself lived for just 33 years.
Untimely death is not necessarily dying young but dying before knowing the LORD and fulfilling the ordained mandate of the LORD on earth...satan would surely want to kill a person before he attains any of these two objectives...

DRinkLimca, I want you to know that a very religious person (christian) who believes in God can die, Death is what we have all bought from adam. God can allow somethings to just happen for reasons best known to him.
Check jw.org for more answers
...that GOD allows a thing to happen does not mean it is HIS will for that thing to happen! GOD's non-involvement, unless invited, is feature of his nature of being the just judge...that GOD intended for Elijah to be taken up to heaven alive does not mean that if Elijah had waited for Jezebel he would not have met his untimely death at her hand! Elijah knew better and he fled!

The poor infrastructure is just the robe...it is what the robe covers that reveals the true rot or more accurately death of the Nigerian academic system! Many university lecturers; some of them professors, senior lecturers etc, cannot successfully handle a UTME class let alone a class full of students preparing for their A/Levels. No soul that has been to a Nigerian university, particularly since the year 2000, will claim that he/she has not written the dictation of a lecturer from textbooks...that is why a first class Applied Physics graduate will gladly work in a bank as a so called executive!

Here is my own 10kobo;

One vital lesson I learned in marriage is to be the change you hope to see in your partner as the possibility of him or her changing is almost zero.

To put it in another way, whatever your partner is poor at and it's hurting you, please develop yourself to cater for it so that you will no longer be hurt. Infact derive pleasure in filling that gap because it is the key that keeps your home.

To put in another way again, your partner whatever weakness you discover in your partner, develop your strength in that area so that you can complement him or her hence you become perfect one.

It's not going to be easy but it's possible and the joy derives from the happiness in your home justify the sacrifice.

So my brother, just let it slide.
Return to the dining and eat the meal and play the leadership role expected of you in your home.

God bless your home.
You deserve an award for this response...a very wise response!
Christianity Etc › Re: The Real Reason Why God Prohibits Women Pastors by efficiencie(m): 9:36am On Jan 22, 2018
The OP has trouble distinguishing between man in the flesh and man in the spirit (Galatians 3:28). In the spirit there is no male or female and hence if a woman is in the spirit she can equally do what a man in the spirit can do because spirits are sexless in the sense of gender! Despite being the wife, Manoah's wife got the angelic visitation twice while the less spiritual husband would have had none if the caring wife had not drawn his attention (Judges 13:1-10). Manoah, a man in the flesh, was so ignorant of the things of the spirit that he confused an angel with GOD himself but it was his spiritual wife that educated him properly (Judges 13:15-23). When Josiah needed guidance it was a prophet in the person of Huldah, a woman in the flesh, that interpreted the words of the law and prophesied events to come (2 Kings 22:14-20).

In the spirit, there is no gender. That is why I advice women: if you want to be a mover and a shaker in the ranks of great men then you must develop yourself intellectually and spiritually. These are the two dimensions within which gender plays no role.

Ignore her attitude, cook when you can, meet up with the responsibilities in the house, be kind to your wife as much as you can, talk often to the GOD that joined you to her and find your peace in all that GOD has provided you...very soon your errant wife will realize that she is loosing her ability to get you emotional and nothing brings a loving woman to her knees more than that!

Nigerians easily see the flaws of everything around them but see none in themselves...it is your choice to vote whoever you want to vote for, even if that person is the devil himself. What difference does it make. The progressive nations of this world are made up of people who believe that: A PROBLEM ANYWHERE IS A PLACE EVERYWHERE but retrogressive nations are where they are today because they are made up of people who believe: A PROBLEM IS NEVER A PROBLEM UNTIL IT IS MY PROBLEM...I am 1000% sure that the OP will not complain but will see all the good in Buhari if her father were part of the ruling government shelling out hundreds of thousands to her on a daily basis!
