Lol. I think you're missing what I wrote. I am not saying I did my writing section using upper case o.

I only stated that I did my L & R in upper cases.

We all now know you did your writing "Without a remark". lol grin

Oops I must have missed that bit (I apologise sincerely). Also, there was no hard feelings (at all) when I made that comment about remark, lol..... embarassed

Exactly what I read too. Wanted to avoid any ish, so I did upper cases for L & R...

Well - I wrote mine in lower case and only used upper case when I wanted to start a new sentence, or when I was writing a name/address or the likes. I had 7.5 in my writing (without a remark).

Poster - It's up to you. Follow your heart & all the best.

Hello, for the reading and listening part, I did all capital letters. For writing am not sure if it's fine to write in upper cases.

For the listening part - In a scenario where you have the missing word/answer in-between a sentence, I will advise you use small case letters except it is a name though...then you can use upper case. Imagine having all upper case in-between a sentence....that's a bit off.

*I stand to be corrected*

Hi guyz,I am very new here and I will like to apply for a work permit to canada...I have ahnd degree in mech enginerring and I will be so glad if I can get more explanation on how to go about the application.
I want to ask if it is very important to get a job there before applying or not.
I am complete novice and just need some little guidelines on how to go about it....
will be very glad to get feedbacks/

Welcome on board. The 1st place to start is from page (0) i.e. the beginning of this thread. By the time you read through the pages (maybe not all, but a substantial number of pages), you will get a drift of the process and then have tailored questions to ask.

In the meantime, it is not important to get a job in Canada before applying for FSWP.

So I'm taking IELTS test come 8th April, please what letter case is adviced to be on a safer side lower or upper case?
To those who have taken the test previously and aced it please advice.

Hi,

I hope I understand your question....nevertheless I will try to drop my 2 cents. Writing your letters in upper case is a no no - apart from the fact that it will be difficult for you to write within the time frame, I also think it will be difficult for the examiner to read. Just start each (new) sentence with a capital letter (like we always do) .....Names etc. too will start with capital letters.

Try to read the instructions before you start though but I am 150% sure there will be no such instruction as "write in upper case letters"

All the best!

Good day everyone, pls anyone wanna share tips of General training speaking test? I've got mine tomorrow in lagos nd the written ones on Saturday.

I'd say -

(1) keep speaking until the examiner tells you to stop. Avoid any silent moment
(2) be creative when answering the questions .....DO NOT keep it short and simple
(3) Use good vocabulary e.g. consistently instead of always, adventurous instead of bold....[you get the drift?]

Thanks for your quick response but I meant the easiest way of getting a UK PCC?
Have any here got it before? Did he/she send a proof of current address?

Hi - I got my UK PCC 3 weeks back...I reside in the UK though (not sure if you do too). Nevertheless, if you are in Nigeria, I believe the text below will help answer your enquiry....

I live abroad and cannot prove my UK addresses. What can I do?

If you live abroad you do not have to prove your UK addresses. You only have to prove your current address and inform us of your previous UK addresses over the past TEN (10) years.

Hope this helps.

I love you, Ehrnie. Does the same apply if I'm applying for a regular visit visa? I want to apply for the program as well as a visit visa to visit Canada now. Thanks. I know I need 2 letters

You are most welcome.

I don't know the documents required for visit visas. Hopefully someone can pick your question and answer it appropriately. In the meantime, it is worth checking their website...its very informative.

Hi all,

Thanks to all who have contributed to make this thread what it is today. More grease..... wherever it's needed grin

Please I'd like to know to whom my employer needs to address the intro letter. I already got all the important details to be included from the first page of this thread.

Also noteworthy is the fact that I'll be leaving this job by the end of this month (dem don give me letter undecided ). Is there anything else I should be looking to get from my current employer towards completing this application apart from the letter?

A brief summary of the Express Entry Program is also welcome.

I will answer this as much as I can and to the best of my knowledge (I stand to be corrected)

Although they said a "To Whom It May Concern" will suffice, you can address your intro letter to be address below:

Federal Skilled Worker Program
Centralised Intake Office,
C/o Canadian High Commission
42, Independence Avenue,
P.O.Box 1693
Accra - Ghana

Things to get from current employer:
(1) Print out your current payslips (minimum of 6 months past)
(2) Make a copy of your staff ID card before you submit it on your last day
(3) Get the employment reference letter (which I assume you are working on already)
(4) I am also assuming you have your employment/confirmation of employment letter and any related document you were given at the start of your job. Just keep them for records...who knows.

A brief summary of the EE process/procedure is on page (0) of this thread. Once you familiarise yourself with it, then return with specific areas you need clarity on.

All the best!

Goodday house, pls can someone help me out, am trying to apply for newbruswick EOI and on the form they askWhy am i a good candidate for NB and another question is My connection to NB, i dont know or have anybody in NB, soo how do i answer these 2 questions.

abusaibu@yahoo.com

I will try to answer your question based on an advise I got here whilst trying to provide an "intent to reside in Ontario"...for a friend.

A LOE stating how you intend to contribute to the economy in NB, maybe by reason of your qualification (etc.), how your work experiences fit into NB, your expertise, your communication skills (evident from your ielts results etc.). Things like that....hope you get the drift?

Google is your friend here...research on NB and see what is obtainable and then tailor your LOE to fit.

In addition, via job bank (I am assuming you have an active profile with job bank), apply for jobs in NB & attach all notification/evidence of the jobs applied for to your LOE. This will show that you are proactively looking for employment in NB.

Hope this helps!

Hi everyone, Just getting on this now.
Can someone please direct me to the page with the break down of all the steps to take, as the first post is old and the information must have been obsolete.
just a page post number will be fine.

Anymore please.

Start reading the thread from page [0] and walk your way through the pages. The information is not obsolete - it's as fresh as it can get.

After reading and familiarising yourself with the process, then return here with specific questions. This will help others answer your questions appropriately.

Hi, please in my profile i stated completion of degree to be April, 2011 and date of employment of my job to be July, 2012. I already have ITA and discovered i had left a gap between april 2011 - july, 2012. This was my nysc period. My question is, how do i correct this mistake? Can i still add nysc details after ITA or the gap doesn't mean anything. Thanks

Add NYSC as EMPLOYMENT and not government or any other category.

Thank you very much. Do you know any tutor I could talk to? or what do you advise? I have spent so much already. Thank you too @Beem4cupid.

Tutor? Please you don't need a tutor...all you need is quality time to practice. You have spent money already using an agent, no need to incur further costs.

Use online study materials -
Liz IELTS

Study materials from British Council
YouTube

I believe you will ace it. You just need to invest time.

Good morning All,

I am filling in the OINP application via their e portal but passport pages (including blanks) have exceeded the 10MB limit. The system wouldn't allow me upload it. Anyone experienced this too? Please how did you resolve it?

This is a general issue and I also read it in other forums. Here is how I got around it:
1) Login to your myCIC page and open your EE profile by clicking "View Messages".
2) Click on the NOI message so that it opens for you to read.
3) Then scroll to the top of the page, you will see a row of menus that includes "print" and "logout".
4) Click on "print". A print dialogue box will open. Choose to "save" instead of printing. It will save the whole page in pdf format.

Note that everything is ONLINE now. They do not accept any paper applications except those that got NOI before the new online system.

Hope this helps.

Great information - I have now been able to print and save the document.

Thanks!

1. Nope, you don't need to mention short landing.
2. Nope, they hardly check for evidence of POF but you still need to hold it in case they ask. Bank statements showing the amount will suffice.
3. How will they know that you have a small bag? Your bags won't be with you while landing.
Short Landing is not illegal. Not everyone will be able to relocate immediately. There was no question about duration. After landing, get your sin card and open bank accounts so you can start building credit rating even while outside Canada. You will likely not be able to get Health card though as most of the provinces require you to establish yourself as a resident for at least 3 months before you qualify.
Yes, you can give your friend's address. Even those that are in Canada to stay give the address of a family member as they might not have secured accommodation at the point of landing. Yes, the PR card will be posted to the friend's address and can then be posted to you. A lot of people use DHL to post the PR card.

Yes, you can do that. You just have to ensure you stay in Canada for 2 out of 5 years from the time of landing. Technically, you can land. leave and then come back after 2.5 years.
Yes, he will need PCC cos PCC is required for everywhere you stay for 6 months (Cumulative) from your 18th year birthday. UK PCC is very easy na. Let him just apply and include it. He has nothing to lose by including it.

Very good information! I have saved it in my archives for when I will be needing it.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to address all my queries.

Hi all,

The journey that started last year May has finally come to an end. We finally landed in Canada yesterday. Glory to God as we are now officially Permanent Residents of Canada. Nothing much was asked except if we have new family members and if we have any criminal record. Even POF was not asked.

Want to wish everyone with their applications still in process all the best. For those that are still awaiting ITA and PNP, God will perfect it and finally for those who are contemplating on starting this Canadian PR journey, please start as soon as you can, you have got nothing much to lose.

I will still be on the forum to answer any questions you may have but I won't be able to answer any job related questions as we are only doing short landing. We will be travelling back home in the next few weeks as we are not planning to move to Canada permanently until the next 2 years.

This is sooooo what I am planning to do. Can you kindly shed more light on short landing? I have received ITA and currently putting my documents together. So -
(1) Do I have to justify (at the entry point) that I have arrived in CAN to stay? or can I mention short landing (if/when asked)?
(2) If I don't mention short landing, then do I have to hold the $12300 with me in cash to justify that I staying?
(3) What if my luggage is just a small bag, will they think otherwise...that I am here for a short period?

In summary, do they frown at short landing? Are there questions they will ask about my duration of stay (or any subject matter) that I need to prep for....

Lastly, Can I can give the address of a friend in CAN, so they post my PR card to her...& then my friend can post it to me if I have left CAN before it arrives?

I intend to travel back after just two weeks, and then return in 3 years max....

ECA is Educational Credential Assessment. Yes it reffers to WES or IQAS etc.

For the PCC..from the site, it was mostly indians that were affected based on the format for their PCC.

Oh okay...I was a lil confused about the PCC. Thanks for clarifying.

With the volume of ITA's being issued out, its important that post ITA, we do everything possible to ensure that the whole process ends up successful.

Came across this on another website and i hope it helps..Others that have passed through this phase please help verify what can be modified or added.

Hello All...
I am presently trying to get preliminary documents ready; the ECA and IELTS before creating an EE profile. Do i need a POF at the point of creating the EE profile or this comes at ITA stage? Thanks as you attempt to answer my question.

No you don't need POF when creating EE profile. It is good though to start thinking of your PoF requirements and how you intend to show that e.g. Save up, gift deed, liquidate assets etc. You will need your POF (6 months bank statement) post ITA.

Hope this helps!

Two ways, one let the person register in one of the job banks, look through jobs that matches his profile or career and then apply. You can then print out the acknowledgement of the application and include it (you can do about six or seven) I think they just want to see the applicants seriousness and effort in researching about the province
Second is to write a letter of intent that shows why you chose Ontario over other provinces. This is easy as you just google the internet and find quick facts about the province and why it appeals to you in terms of weather, job opportunities, nice to raise a family, popular destination for migrants and so on.
Also note that the few rejections have seen is when people are not able to prove their work experience or NOC does not match reference letter. Your friend should be fine.

Thanks a lot! this is really helpful. Will do the job bank one asap and then get her to write the letter as you have advised.

I really appreciate your prompt response. Thanks again!

Hi,
I was nominated by Ontario last year .i have never been to Canada and I don't have friends there. All you need to do is to write a statement of intent showing how you intend to settle in Ontario .Research areas in Ontario ,your occupation and it's prospects in Ontario if it's regulated ,how you intend to plan for licensure ,how you love the weather .since you don't have family or friends ,you can find out about settlement agencies in Ontario . Also remind them of your good English skills evidenced by your ielts result and how that we help in your social integration . Just give them good reason for choosing Ontario
All the best

Hello Ehrnie,
You cannot download the NOI from your profile to PDF, as someone who has gone through the process last year, the only thing Ontario needs is your EE profile number and job seeker code.
Hope this helps

Thanks a lot...it sure helps!

As you have passed through this before, please can you confirm how one can show intent to reside in Ontario? my friend has no relation or friends in Ontario and has never even visited Canada.

After getting NOI the next step is to create a ONe-Key login details. The usual username and password stuff. Follow this link
www.one-key.gov.on.ca

After signing up for the ONe-Key and you have got your username and password, it will take you to the application page. But in case the link broke down because right now there is high traffic in the website, you can always click on the link below to apply online.

http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/OI_PNP_EE_CAPITAL_APPLY.html

I will also suggest you download the guide that spells out all the details and the required documentation. Follow the link on the application page to download the guide.

All the best.

If you are able to download the NOI letter please share so that we also follow suit.

Thanks! I downloaded the guide this morning and I have been familiarising myself with it. I will let you if once I am able to download the NOI from her EE profile (please let me know when you are successful with the download too). cheers.

One question - how can she prove her "Intention to Reside in Ontario"? This is on page 7 (section 2.1.5 of the guide). I think the closest to her circumstance is "personal connections" e.g. friends. will this suffice?
