it's still not an issue. Hubby had US visa he didn't use and it expired and he did drop box and got visa

Ok - but when it comes to Visa issues, its better to err on the side of caution. It worked for A doesn't mean that's the norm.

Hello my great canny pple, congrats to all those uh recently passed ielts, got ITA.AOR and PPR by the grace of God we all wld also get ours. please i have a question; I have a US visa i got recently precisely june 2017 but i do not want to travel yet cos i would rather use the ticket money and other expenses for POF. please wld it be an issue (ie. getting a visa and not using it, tho its 2years i wld still use it later) when applying for canny EE?

Of course not....it is not an issue. The issue is if the USA visa expires and you haven't used it at all....and that's issue with your subsequent USA visas and not CAN visas.

hi everyone congrats to everyone who got ITA, i got ITA yesterday as well 9/08/17... but i am a bit confused as the application portal shows 90 days left but in the pdf message it says "You must submit a complete application before 11/08/2017 12:00am UTC. Did anyone get this same message, what application am I expected to submit or is it an error? Your prompt response will be appreciated

Canadian Date Format on the ITA is Month/Day/Year - 11/08/2017 is read as November 8th 2017. Dig into your calendar and see if this is 90 days from yesterday. Confirm again yourself biko.

Thanks so much for your response. On the first question, I stated that his mom had given him some of the money which he put in t bills initially, this was less than 6 months ago. Submitting SoA and letter from the bank, will definitely reflect this particular transaction. Does he also need to do a Gift deed from his mom?

Thank you.

To be safe, I would say YES he needs another gift deed from his mum.

This is another way to tackle this is and make it neater and understandable; His dad transfers the money to his mum and mama then transfers it into his own account. In addition, the AJO money should be paid into mama's account directly by the "AJO chairman" cheesy so mama wires ALL the money to his account. That way we have just one Gift deed...neat and tidy.

Snrs can chip in please - there maybe other ways tackle this but I think this is better than 2xgift deeds + TBs cert.

Hello guys,

I recently just joined this forum and I must say you guys have been very helpful but i need more help. I am not really sure how to post messages here or if i have posted it in the right place.

My fiancé got his ITA early this month and he must submit by 1st of November, he is gathering all his documents. Now my questions:

1. His proof of funds are in Tbills in two parts (one of this was given to him by his mom, the other was his savings), one will be due this month, the other next month and the rest of the funds which is about 1m will be given to him by his dad and he will receive 500k from his AJO this month. He plans to put this last part into Tbills too. Can he just submit the Tbills certificates (given to him by the bank) only as proof of funds? Must he also submit letter from the bank showing his opening, average and closing balances?

2. I understand that after he gets the PRV, he must apply for visa at the embassy, at this point he will have to show his statement, will these huge sums be a red flag? Is this where the gift certificate or/and letter of explanation come in?

3. Does he have to go and do medicals now or after he submits his application, he will be asked to do that?

A very explanatory reply would be very much appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi - I will try to answer this as much as I can.

(1) You said he wants to submit 1st of November. This means his TBs would have matured by then and the money would have dropped into his account. so there is no need to submit TB certificate for TBs that have expired anyways. If he wants to use the money again to purchase a new TB, then that's fine but the tenure must be short - maybe just 3 months. Regarding the money from dad and AJO, no need to do TBs with those again biko. If I were him I will add the AJO money + dad's money together and do a gift deed i.e. assume the total sum is coming from dad. This is what I will do to avoid scattered PoFs - so that the PoF will just be two things (1) Gift deed from dad (2) TBs certificate. He will have to add his 6 months SoA + letter from bank just to be safe. This is what I would do.

(2) He does not need to apply for ANY Canadian Visa at the embassy when he gets his CoPR.

(3) It is advisable to do medicals after he gets his ITA (invitation to Apply) AND when he is close to submitting his eAPr. Medicals expire after 12 months and the last thing he wants to do is hurriedly do the medicals now and have to re-do it again before he gets his CoPR. Note that he MUST do medicals before he submits his eApr (it is called upfront medicals and there is a placeholder to attach the doc he gets from the hospital).

I hope this helps.

Pls seniors in the house, for someone who was employed as an Embassy receptionist (NOC Category C), but performs all administrative functions stated under Administrative Assistant (NOC 1241, Category B), is it okay to use Administrative Assistant as the Job title in the reference letter instead of receptionist which is under the ineligible category C?

Hi - I think you should be fine IF AND ONLY IF the reference letter you get from your company states your job title as Administrative Assistant AND the responsibilities listed on the reference letter CLOSELY match that of an Administrative Assistant and not a receptionist. The capitals are crucial points to take note of.

Happy Sunday house.
Pls I need ya advice on how to handle my family's landing. I am due for school at Vancouver next month and my hubby isn't leaving his work for d next 2 yrs, my questions are:
1. Do we all land next month when I resume or can I resume and they come for landing by Christmas ?? (Our medicals expiring may next year)
2. How are split landings generally handled?

Thank you for ur helpful responses

Hi - see official CIC info below

ORDER OF LANDING FOR FAMILIES/DELAYED ARRIVAL: There are two options for family landings. Whichever option you choose, it is important to remember that the principal applicant must always be the first landed.
Option A: The entire family (including the principal applicant) lands together. If you choose this option, all family members must land at the same time and at the same port of entry.
Option B: The principal applicant lands first alone. The dependants may then follow the principal applicant at a later date provided their COPR’s remain valid.

I recall someone asked about order of landing (she was going to land this week or so, before her family and wanted to know what was acceptable). I searched for the post so I can reply directly but couldn't find it again if you are the one, the information below is the order of landing as stated in the CoPR. All the best.

Britain has reciprocal agreements with Canada, so
you can also change it back to a UK license or use same to drive in the UK if you visit. smiley

No need to apologize...lol.

For new immigrants,
You would need a valid photo ID issued by a governmental organization e.g Passport, and an original
correspondence mailed to your address or a rental/lease agreement. The documents must include your full name, address and date.

You won't be able to keep your UK license....After 90 days, It's ilegal to hold a drivers license from two different jurisdiction.

Thanks Salford - lol @ no need to apologize. Whew angry the thought of giving up my hard earned UK license seems such a wrench but if that's the requirement, then that's what I'm going to do.

Many thanks.

Guys please am waiting for a response.

This is urgent please gurus assist,

Hi - if I were you, I will aim to get the max point from my work experience. In your case, I am assuming the max point will be from the 4+ years you've spent in your previous role within the same company. So, look for a NOC that closely matches a travel and logistics officer AND get a new reference letter to reflect the responsibilities of a travel and logistics officer.

Hope this clarifies the 1st part of your question at least?

You can drive for 3months.
Most, if not all provinces in Canada have a recriprocal licensing agreement with the UK and some other advanced countries. All you need is a proof of residency in the province and pass a vision screening test. If possible...exchange the license before the UK license expires.
Congrats.

Many thanks Salford.

How do I prove my residency in the province? I'm assuming bank letters or letters from the GP (addressed to me) will suffice...Kindly advise.

My UK license expires in about 6 years. Do I have to exchange it for a Canadian license? I want to keep both i.e. the Canadian and UK license - is this possible.

Apologies for the many questions. embarassed

Just a few things (still) to clarify though.

Re: Q4 – how do I process my PR status? Apart from the documentation at the PoE and giving them an address in CAN to send my PR card to, what else is expected?

With regards to my Social Insurance Number, I'm meant to take my passport + CoPR issued by IRCC (since I wouldn't have gotten my PR card in the short time frame) to the nearest service CAN office. If everything is okay, i will get my SIN that same day and will not need to part with any of my original docs. Is this correct..? Please correct me if I am wrong

Many thanks and apologies for the back & forth…it’s just that I really want to make the best use of the 10 days I will be short landing for…

Good day All.
Please I will like to know if my job match can be applicable in the entry. I graduated with statistics, but am into HR. Please help a sister. Thank you

Hi - It is your work experience that is required to match the NOC you choose for the EE/FSWP application. In other words, your degree doesn't play a role when picking a NOC.

NOC 1121 is for Human Resources Professional. Go to the CIC website, type in this 1121 under NOC and see if the main duties listed there CLOSELY matches what you do.

All the best.

Hello. Please what is IP1 and IP2. I just submitted my completed application yesterday so I have my AOR. But I don't understand theseIP1, IP2 and BC u guys keep talking about. I think I know BC stands for background check.

Kindly explain. Thanks

See info below (BGC - is Background Check)

Stages in Canadian PR journey

1st the profile
2nd is ITA
3rd is AOR
4th medicals
5th background
6th ppr
7th COPR
8th landing
9th pr card
=======================

These are 3 different stages that majority of the PR applicants in EE will see against Background check in My CIC.

IP1
--------
IP1 will be shown when we pass the medical. Some people get this update on the same day along with their medical and some of them couple of days after. CIC agents will do R10, criminality checks during this stage. Once they feel everything is good then they will change it to NA. These things will happen at CIO Office (Centralized Intake Office)

NA
---------
This stage, our file will be transferred to CPC (Case processing Center) where agents will do eligibility assessments. If they feel everything is okay, then they will provide their recommendation to Visa Officer and same time they will initiate Security Checks.

IP2
--------
This status will be seen in my CIC account once Visa Officer starts reviewing or after reviewing all agents recommendations. On the same day PPR request will be triggered if the applicant paid RPRF upfront. These things will be done at CPC office.

It is not necessary that every applicant will undergo this process. But majority of the cases, I have noticed the same status

Hi All - I'm so new on this thread smiley ....I recently "graduated" from our sister thread ""Canada EE/FSWP". I've read through all the pages and must commend the good work going on here. Thanks.

So, I intend to do a short landing (I believe that's what its called) towards the end of the year i.e. check into CAN and then return to base say after 2 weeks.... then return to CAN at a much later date. Can you kindly help with my questions -

(1) What documents should I take along with me for the short landing?
(2) Do I need to have my PoF cash in hand even though I am just there for two weeks? Or will bank statements and investment statements suffice?
(3) Do I have to tell the officers at PoE that I am here for short landing? Are we permitted to "short-land"...
(4) What quick wins can I nail in the two week period i.e. open bank accounts, or registrations necessary as a PR holder etc.? What sort of registrations can I get done (or am I required to do) in that short time frame.
(5) Since I intend travelling towards Christmas, I'd like to know if offices shutdown for the year as that will help clarify Q4 above. No point going during a period when offices will be shut really.
(6) I have a UK drivers license - Can I drive with this in CAN? Do I have to sit any other tests...?
(7) From time to time, can I remit money into my CAN bank account (that's if I get it opened)...? is it advisable in terms of exchange rates and all....

Apologies for my many questions - it just shows that indeed I have just landed on this thread.

Many thanks in advance!!!

Hi Ehrnie, Thanks for the response. With regards to your question; I have only submitted Proof of funds/and also which province I want. Although, they haven't actually created my profile for me yet. That's why I think it's a good time to end the contract with them. But like you and blackbuddy adviced I will engage David Cohen's firm with regards to terminating the contract. I can't find any caveat with regards to contract termination in the document we signed.

Okay - if they haven't created your profile, then you are in a good place with regards to starting the process afresh yourself. Apply topmost professionalism when ending your contract with them though - and try as much not to part with any more kobo since they have no caveat in their T&Cs.

All the best!

Hello House,

I just started following this forum and it has really helped with my application process. But before I started reading the blog i engaged a law firm -David Cohen's to be specific. I have found out that they have not helped other than collect money and give scanty information. I already paid half the fees but feel that with the help and interactions here I can go ahead and complete the process myself.

I want to terminate the contract before they open an account to submit my EE. So the relevant questions are:

Is it possible to terminate a contract if fees are still pending? / second installment hasn't been paid (especially if it is before the submission of the EE application?)
Is there any kind of severance fee or does it just need to be a written letter asking for termination of services?

Thanks.

Hi - I believe only David Cohen can answer these questions you've asked. The contract between David Cohen and yourself should state the T&Cs...which will include the dos and don'ts. I really sympathize with you - as I can only imagine how disappointed you are after finding out you really don't need them for the entire process.

What sort of information have you submitted to them? This is to ascertain if you can create your profile yourself and completely move on from them.

Snrs can chip in...

Hi Guys,

Congratulations to everyone that got their PPR

Kindly help with these questions:

1. Should i be worried i have been stuck on NA for over a month (between 35-50 days)? AOR was April 19th
2. Do people get rejected even after 3 months?
3. Is it true single applicants don't ever get to IP2 stage and they go straight from NA to PPR?

Will appreciate your response
Thanks

Hi - I honestly think you shouldn't be worried (hard as that is though).

1. I was also in NA for almost a month, while others had theirs much quicker. I'll suggest you request your GCMS note if that will make you feel better.
2. The truth is that people can get rejected at any time, but that is not your portion or the portion of anyone reading this. The whole process isn't over until it is over, so even at Point of Entry, someone's enemy can get sent back, lol.
3. This is a myth. I was a single applicant and I went through all phases i.e. NA/IP1/NA/IP2.

Drink from the well of patience - you will surely testify.

Dear E-family, finally received the much awaited PPR!

I can't explain my joy.
It has been a very long journey. Entered the pool January 2016 with crs of 432(I think) and got Ontario nomination and accepted because the draw score was quite high then. We submitted Ontario application January our application was finally approved December 2016(one full year). We got ITA December and submitted our application January 2017. AOR 20th January. Got ADR February, submitted and since then status has been not applicable. Ordered GCMS and realized our application was been processed in London. When we completed six months we sent a mail( thanks to greetings for the sample), we got another ADR. This time requesting for military records because my husband mistakenly ticked yes to that NYSC related question. Thanks to ugoiyke79e who responded to someone who also had same issue, we submitted copies of nysc discharge certificate, nysc call up letter and a letter of recommendation from one of officer in charge of the military school (because he served as a teacher in the military school) and a LOE explaining our mistake and stating he didn't serve in military. After submitting, we sent another mail telling them we have submitted the documents they requested for and this afternoon, my husband got a mail for him to check his box and behold, PPR.
I thank God it all ended in praise.
This thread has been so informative and I thank everyone for their contributions. It is very very important to read as you will get answers even before you ask.

Like to acknowledge some people for their good work here. JesusDway, duppysho, vcole, zandora, 40manlappy, boldinc, ehrnie, mummyjaygirls(funny woman) and all others too numerous to mention. God bless you all.

PS. The PPR mail didn't indicate where to send passports to, is it strictly Accra? Am I to print the imm form and send alongside the passports?

Congratulations to you sis! This is indeed the Lord's doing.

Hi - if I were you, in all my online forms, I'll use the narration "Access Bank (formerly Intercontinental Bank)" AND then get all my documentation from Access Bank in the CIC format.

I know someone who worked for Oceanic...and all her forms read "EcoBank (Formerly Oceanic Bank)". She got PPR last week. She got reference letters from ecobank. Note that she also added the little things she could get from Oceanic employment e.g. Payslips, office IDs & employment letter.

If I understand your question well, I will say No I didn't change my VO (I don't even think candidates have the power to change VOs or choose VOs). Also, my PP wasn't stamped at Accra. Please note that not all people on this thread are applying from inside Nigeria.

Hope this answers your question?
