Congratulations to all our new ITAs This is surely the appointed time - Glory to God. To all those who missed this draw, especially the ones who missed it by just one mark ...whew...I cannot even pretend I know exactly how you are feeling. But please stay strong and know that what's yours will find you at the appointed time. One love. Please Please Please - ITA is not the same as CoPR ...it's just another hurdle you have crossed (you are yet to finish the race). Take time to READ all requirements / instructions and ensure you dot all the "I"s and cross all the "T"s. We have heard stories of people whose application got rejected or those that were even banned because of post ITA gragra. That's not your portion o. Congrats again! 12 Likes |

Wiskolo: Hi - I don't think you should worry (much) about this status. I got PR almost two month ago yet my CIC status (as at today) still shows "we are reviewing the additional documents you have provided" and "a final decision has been made". So you see that the updates SOMETIMES really do not show the true picture. Just give it a bit of time, but if it still worries you then order your GCMS notes 3 Likes |

Interesting conversations going on here - every day's indeed a school day. Thanks y'all @salford, @ maternal - I envisage you both are engineers and have worked in the "oil patch in Alberta". As an engineer in the same discipline, is there any advise you can share regarding certification/licensing...etc. that will be useful in securing a job in Canada? Other engineers that are silent followers can kindly contribute.... dupyshoo has been very helpful in advising on getting the EIT status via APEGA, but apart from this is there any other thing I can set in motion now before relocating to CAN? Your help is much appreciated. Many thanks. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Hi All - I have a (silly) question So, if one is travelling to Calgary but has two stopovers one of which is in Vancouver. Where will the person meet the Immigration Officer who will conduct clearance + take all documentation? Vancouver or Calgary? If Vancouver, can the person give a Calgary address to post the PR card to? Note that the Vancouver to Calgary journey is via Air Canada (i.e. the 1st airline partners with Air Canada). I have asked google, but still need to be double sure. Many thanks... |

dtush: lol - this actually got me laughing Criminal offence ke...? Please don't call bad thing for yourself o. You have not done anything bad...and in my opinion there is no need for LOE. Since both reference letters have your exit and resumption dates, just quote the exact dates on the letters and leave it at that. I believe an overlap is way better than a gap in your employment. And peradventure the VO asks, then you explain...he/she will read your explanation, verify with the company (if he/she really wants to be thorough) and then see all you have written is inline. Until then, hold your peace (besides it's just 14 days anyways). My sister had a similar case and she quoted the same dates she had in her references (she also had overlaps because she worked in the new company with her notice period from the old). They didn't come back to ask anything, and she's got the Maple leaf on her passport. This is what I would do if it was me. Others can add their own expertise. All the best! 1 Like |

domvic: Is the statement true? i.e. is your primary NOC outside the 10 year time frame? If so, then CIC is correct...and you may not be eligible under that NOC. Have you worked since the last 10 years? I'll suggest you use that work experience for your application. Please note that your work experience must be at least 1 year (1,560 hours total / 30 hours per week), continuous 30 hours/week for 12 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours). Check the CIC website for further requirements. |

I think it's worth sharing this info on this new thread. I've had a lot of people ask about the stages - Stages in Canadian PR journey 1st the profile 2nd is ITA 3rd is AOR 4th medicals 5th background 6th ppr 7th COPR 8th landing 9th pr card ======================= These are 3 different stages that majority of the PR applicants in EE will see against Background check in My CIC. IP1 -------- IP1 will be shown when we pass the medical. Some people get this update on the same day along with their medical and some of them couple of days after. CIC agents will do R10, criminality checks during this stage. Once they feel everything is good then they will change it to NA. These things will happen at CIO Office (Centralized Intake Office) NA --------- This stage, our file will be transferred to CPC (Case processing Center) where agents will do eligibility assessments. If they feel everything is okay, then they will provide their recommendation to Visa Officer and same time they will initiate Security Checks. IP2 -------- This status will be seen in my CIC account once Visa Officer starts reviewing or after reviewing all agents recommendations. On the same day PPR request will be triggered if the applicant paid RPRF upfront. These things will be done at CPC office. It is not necessary that every applicant will undergo this process. But majority of the cases, I have noticed the same status 18 Likes 6 Shares |

Hi All, I'm not sure if this is where I should be posting this question but anyways...I have an enquiry about APEGA Registration (for engineers) and I believe someone can help. So I had my credential evaluation completed via WES, which what I used for my EE application. I have received my PR now. To get myself prepared for Canada, I decided to register with APEGA to get EIT status. So, I applied for an upgrade of my WES report (i.e. I applied for the course-by-course evaluation). My understanding is that my universities do not have to send my transcripts, degree certs or complete any verification again since this was done previously. Strangely, I got an email from WES few days after applying for the upgrade that my application is pending because they are awaiting verification from my universtity. I am wondering why my university will verify what has already been verified. I have sent two emails to WES via their contact page and yet no reply. I was on the phone this evening to a representative that was insisting my uni has to verify my transcript. I called again 2 hours after and spoke to another person. She also said the same thing (makes me think they have a scripted message they just read out to everyone). When she saw I wasn't having it, she said she will forward my enquiry to the appropriate dept and they will be in contact with me. Please has anyone experienced this? Also, what medium can I use to call-out WES...as it is now this email and phone calls ain't working. Sorry for my lengthy post...whew. 1 Like |

oluphilip2008: hi - see answers below. Q1 - CIC have become unpredictable. So no one can answer this for sure - just remain hopeful and prayerful. It could drop to even 400. Q2 - I got this from the CIC website and it answers your question perfectly. If my Express Entry profile expires, will the system keep my information? No, the system will not keep your information. We had planned to allow the system to save profile information, so it would be easier to complete a new profile when the first one expired. We have found that this option is not possible at this time. Should the option become available in the future, we will update this information online. All the best! 1 Like |

platypelloid: Hi - see answers below (1) You will need to visit your university to ascertain what the real problem is? Take out time to do this and get to the bottom of the matter. (2) The minimum score required to apply for Express Entry is CLB-7 means 6 band in each module. So yes your agent is right but this means your overall CRS score will be low and chances are that you will be in a pool longer than you want. Aim for L/S/W/R = 8/7/7/7 (3) I will suggest you just DIY - you are here on this thread anyways and if you take the time to start reading from page [0] you will be fine. All the best! |

MRSDA: Hi – I felt moved after reading this and I can only imagine how the family feels right now. I pray for strength for them and healing for the lil one. I did a quick research after reading your post and found the following advise / questions – Did your friend receive a fairness letter? If so, he/she has three choices – (1) Ignore and receive a rejection letter (2) Challenge it i.e. do your homework because you must present everything to CIC and convince them (3) Provide CIC with a plan to mitigate the cost i.e. evidence that the lil one will not be a burden on the health system For points (2) & (3) stated above, I will advise your friend presents a detailed information back to CIC, including a comprehensive mitigation plan (private insurance and a medical reimbursement plan to cover 100% of costs). Furthermore, to challenge the medical opinion, your friend will need letter(s) from doctors stating that the ailment is being managed or can be managed. Your friend can argue that he/she can mitigate the cost should it arise. The case law here is a bit foggy, but your friend must be able to demonstrate a plan to convince the VO. A good PoF can help here too. Finally, I'd strongly suggest your friend uses an attorney with experience in medical inadmissibility in preparing his/her response. I’m sure not all the attorneys out there are shylocks. I really pray all goes well, Amen. 16 Likes |

vcole: Hi vcole – many thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. Much appreciated. No – I don’t intend driving during the two weeks I will be in Canada, so I wouldn’t process the license at all. When I finally migrate, then I will exchange my UK license as advised. I’m landing in Alberta so I find your response very appropriate. Yes, I will provide an address to mail my PR card to. Good to know I can get my health card in that short time. Woohoo! I’ll also get the phone line and use the bill for the bank as advised. Many thanks! |

CAstruggle: Hi - My PoF was TBs+ SoA (please note that I had some money in the account). I'll suggest you use a large part of your money for TBs and also leave some in your account so your SoA isn't zero/insignificant - in as much as we want the money to generate income for us, we should also look at the risk of using ONLY TBs as PoF. My risk level is very low - so I try to be cautious. It's good to go for the 3 months TBs....and God forbid you don't get ITA soon, then you can keep rolling over the TBs in short tenures. This is what I would do. 1 Like |
