Well said. Let everyone know who was used in this election (or rather, conspired knowingly) to give the presidency to GEJ.

Champagne is flowing in some parts. Blood is flowing in others. Both products of rigged elections.

1) Why did Ebonyi behave differently, turnout-wise? Why 80%+ in certain SE states, only 47%ish in Ebonyi?

2) There are no absentee ballots in naija elections.

3) Rivers I know for a fact is not that homogeneous, due to PHC.

It would be a very good thing if all of them lost. But I'm not sure how likely this is to happen. . .

Ohakim will likely win. He has played his part in assisting GEJ, and will no doubt be rewarded.
Politics › Re: Here We Go Again: CPC Rejects Presidential Election Result by ektbear: 9:18pm On Apr 18, 2011
How can it be a free and fair election when he inflated his votes in the SS+SE by 4 or 5 million+?

Again, there is a difference between winning an election with 40% of the vote and winning it after inflating your share to 60%.

For those unwilling to slog through an entire 6 page thread, just read this post:

Look at the spreadsheet in Google docs, and read some of the posts that follow.

A well deserved bump.

10cirenoh:
I can authoritatively say that 80% of the votes from SE and SS aren't accurate, can we see the numbers of registered voters, and then the actual numbers of those that voted?

In lagos, close to 6 million registered, but about 2 million voted

in Kano, close to 5 million registered, but about 2 million voted

Now, lets see how many registered in Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Enugu, Anambra, Abia, Bayelsa, Delta and Edo, and then how many actually voted

We need to see if there was actually no massive thumb-printing in the south south and south east.
Read this post (and the ones that follow): https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-648868.64.html#msg8151346

Then look at the spreadsheet on Google docs of the 29 states that were released on the INEC site at the time I wrote up the sheet. All of the data is there.

As I said, clearly rigging.
Politics › Re: Here We Go Again: CPC Rejects Presidential Election Result by ektbear: 8:48pm On Apr 18, 2011
CPC was correct in rejecting the election result. Too obviously fake, the SS and SE results.
Politics › Re: Elections Were Rigged; Why Are We Not All Protesting? by ektbear: 8:22pm On Apr 18, 2011
Yes, they were rigged. But using an online opinion poll as supporting evidence is silly  undecided

Look instead at the purported very high turnout numbers for certain SS and SE states. . . despite people commenting about low turnout on the ground.
Politics › Re: One SE state Had More Votes Than 5 SW States Combined-shame! by ektbear: 10:35am On Apr 18, 2011
Alright. You make some good points. Hopefully things turn out correctly.
Politics › Re: Ribadu's Expensive Gamble by ektbear: 10:19am On Apr 18, 2011
Ribadu has 2 million probably unrigged, legitimate votes. This is not a bad accomplishment. He has raised his national and international profile, and I think will serve again in public office.

Regarding your Buhari comments, Buhari has been exposed as a very poor planner, poor strategist and tactician, and a person too arrogant to reach out and build alliances.

The results of this election would have been very different if the alliance had been sealed, and the ACNs finely oiled election machinery had gone to work. Even adding Buhari and Ribadu's #s alone, and lopping off about 4-5 million from GEJs inflated SS/SE votes should tell you what could have happened if Buhari had been more humble. Not to talk of the necessarily higher voter turnout that'd have occurred if the ACN had put its machinery in place.

Ultimately, no one can be blamed here but Buhari. Failing to plan is planning to fail. He wasted a golden opportunity through either incompetence or arrogance (or both.)

Tinubu I suspect looked out for the best interests of himself and his party. There is no reason for him to stick out his neck for the stubborn and frankly not-that-impressive candidacy of Buhari.

Lagosboy:
The whole of the SS and SE was rigged. The strategy was this, there was low voters turn out and after voting, in all the polling units very few had CPC agents there, where there were some of them were bribed and ballots were thumbprinted to favour PDP. For example 500 registered at Poll A, 200 people turned up of which 180 voted PDP, if no CPC agents is available the remaining 300 ballot paper will be thibprinted to favour PDP. That is why you can see 99.5 % perfomance in a state like Akwa ibom.  This was to increase GEJs votes to avoid a run off.

In the norths Jigawa, Sokoto, Kaduna  the governors rigged as well for PDP just to increase the votes to exceed 25% in order to get the spread. There was low voter turn out in a state like Kano as well and only God knows what was the reason.

It is only in the SW i can say there was no rigging but money politics tilted the votes and the collabotation of Tinubu and his gangs.
That I didn't notice before you brought it up:

Osun 188409 36.75%
Sokoto 309057 33.97%
Niger 321429 31.54%
Katsina 428392 26.13%
Zamfara 238980 25.35%
Kano 440666 16.48%
Bauchi 258404 16.05%

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-648868.64.html#msg8151346

Barely crossed the threshold in Zamfara and Katsina.

^-- The paid off part is not the focus of my post. The point of emphasis is the millions of fake votes in the SS and SE. If you let them stand w/o challenging them, they'll be used as a precedent to screw you over in 2015 and 2019.

Read this post: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-648868.64.html#msg8151346

Look at the spreadsheet there. Ask yourself if 70%+ voters turnout is reasonable, let alone 85%+ in Bayelsa (long story short, it is very implausible.)

My point is, it would be EXTREMELY FOOLISH for the opposition to let these results stand, even if it will not change the final outcome of the voting. Big difference between winning an election with 60% of the vote and winning with 40%. . . especially for any parties who are thinking of running against the PDP in 2015 or 2019.
Politics › Re: Report Your Efforts On Buhari-bakare Team Here by ektbear: 9:40am On Apr 18, 2011
I encourage you BB supporters to look at this post:

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-648868.64.html#msg8151346

Bayelsa, Imo, Abia, Rivers, Akwa Ibom almost certainly all rigged. Those are clear cases; others might be fraudulent too.

I don't think it was enough to change the outcome of the election, but the fake final voting totals in my opinion must not stand.
Politics › Re: Official Results Of Presidential Election: By INEC by ektbear: 9:38am On Apr 18, 2011
COMPAQ:
I have heard 2 confirmed cases of ballot stuffing and thumb printing of empty ballot papers in Rivers and Bayelsa. The results were obviously rigged in the SE and SS. The percenages of registered voters that "voted" were too high relative to the rest of the country (have the SE and SS suddenly become so much more politically aware than everyone else?). And of those who voted, the % for PDP was also too high relative to the opposition. As a Professor of Political Science said on NTA yesterday, in the best of cases, a popular candidate will get maybe 60%-70%, but certainly not 95%-97% as we had in SS and SE.

I am sure most of us have seen the video of a woman thumbprinting empty ballot papers in River state. That is additional proof of what went on the the SE and SS.

Politics › Re: One SE state Had More Votes Than 5 SW States Combined-shame! by ektbear: 9:10am On Apr 18, 2011
@Gbawe: Is the ACN going to challenge the fraudulent results in the SS/SE zone (see this post: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-648868.0.html)? Or was the party paid off by the PDP?

Better choice or not, he made some very poor decisions and didn't make the right alliances. He gets the lion's share of the blame for this defeat. Failing to plan is planning to fail.

I feel no pity for him.

What about reports of wide spread under-age voting in the North?
Personally, I'm no more for under-age voting than I am for printing out fake votes to get to 85% voter turnout. Neither is good for a democracy.

Even, Tinubu cannot with in Iragbiji. So what are we saying here?
It is a basic matter of fairness and justice, I think. There was no reason for GEJ to inflate voting #s so much in the SS and SE. An election he would have likely won anyway. If he wins with 20 million votes, and 8 million of these are fake, don't you think that is unjust? There is a difference between winning an election with 45% of the total vote and one in which you declare you won 60%.

Let us not act surprised when aboki goes rampaging, burning down churchs and murdering non-indigenes. At least we cannot pretend as if we don't know what the reason is, or that it is entirely unjustified.

And if you try the same game when it is my own boy running, there will be wahala.

Ya'll are a joke, for real.

@aletheia: My home state did not have 99.5%+ voting for a SINGLE candidate! My home state didn't have 85% voter turnout, for pete's sake. 35% voter turnout is reasonable. 45, 50, maybe even 55% for the hometown hero, I can buy. But 85%? That is a sham wrapped in fraud wrapped in a scandal.
